Terracotta invetriata nei colori dell'ambra e del verde. Interessante modello di cavallo fittile di epoca Tang a corpo pesante. La spessa invetriatura a colata lascia scoperti gli zoccoli, la base e la sella su cui sono evidenti traccie della policromia originale. L'opera viene fornita di test di autenticità prodotto dai laboratori Oxford authentication ltd.

Terracotta glazed in amber and green. An interesting heavy model of a clay horse from the Tang period. The thick drip glaze has left the hooves, base and saddle bare, on which there are traces of the original polychrome. The work has been authenticated by the laboratories, Oxford Authentication Ltd.

Grande copertina di libro realizzata in uno spesso legno fortemente patinato dal tempo. Vi é finemente intagliato sulla superficie un intricato sistema di personaggi. I tre principali, inseriti ciascuno in una bellissima torana (decorata con coppie di makara, nāgini e leoni delle nevi e con all’apice Garuḍa), rappresentano il corpo, la parola e la mente del Buddha e delle sue perfette qualità. A sinistra vi é ritratto il Buddha storico Ś ākyamuni (Ś ākya-thub-pa) a rappresentare il corpo, con la mano destra in posizione bhūmisparś amudrā e la sinistra in avakāś amudrā. Al centro dotata di quattro braccia, siede Prajñāpāramitā (Ś er-phyin), la parola, e porta come attributi un libro, da cui prende il nome, ed un Vajra. A sinistra invece vi é ritratto l’ dibuddha Vairocana (Rnam-par-snaṅ -mdzad), la mente, con le mani nel gesto di somma illuminazione bodhyagrimudrā. Sono rappresentati inoltre, inseriti in un bellissimo gioco di volute, altri trenta piccoli personaggi, i quali a causa del consumo, non sono perfettamente identificabili ma che potrebbero essere sei ripetizione del gruppo dei cinque Buddha trascendenti (Jina).

A large thick wood book cover, heavily patinated over time. There is a delicately carved intricate system of characters on the surface. The three main figures, each inserted in a fine torana (decorated with pairs of makara, nāgini and snow lions and with the Garuda at the top), representing the body, the word and the mind of Buddha and his perfect qualities. To the left of the image is the historical Buddha Ś ākyamuni (Ś ākya-thub-pa) to represent the body, with the right hand in bhūmisparś amudrā and the left in avakāś amudrā. In the centre, sits the four-armed Prajñāpāramitā (Ś er-phyin), the word, and carries as his attributes the book, from which he receives his name and a Vajra. To the left there is the portrait of dibuddha Vairocana (Rnam-par-snaṅ -mdzad), his mind and with his hands in the gesture of supreme enlightenment, bodhyagrimudrā. Another thirty other small characters are inserted in splendid scrollwork decoration, which due to use, cannot be completely identified, but could be six repetitions of the five transcendent Buddhas (Jina).

I the centre there is a dhvadja stendard that symbolises the victory of the Buddhist doctrine and two fish that represent the absence of fear in the ocean of sufferance of the Samsara.

Beautiful ritual crown made on a pressed paper sup-port. It shows a faint lacquering with a complicate relief decoration. It's also accompanied with his hat in black cloth.

Preziosa sella con arcione e paletta posteriore finemente cesellati in argento con bordature bronzee. Sull’ arcione, fra due draghi rampanti e intricati motivi floreali, si nota una parola tibetana “rta” che significa “cavallo”, mentre il gioilello (ratna) sorvegliato anch’esso da due draghi, è cesellato sulla paletta posteriore. Il seggio è costituito da un’armatura di legno sormontata da un’ imbottitura foderata di velluto rosso scuro, fermato da borchie stellate. I due tappeti sottosella abbinati (uno piccolo e uno grande costituito da due parti cucite al centro) sono di lana annodata e sfoggiano entrambi motivi floreali dai colori sgargianti. Il set comprende anche alcune parti di finimenti equestri: il frontale della cavezza, decorato con placche d’ argento cesellate e una briglia da palafreniere, con bastone in legno e placche dorate. A saddle and part of a harness setTibet, 19th CenturyDim. (lxh) 53 x 30 cm

An important saddle with saddle-bow and cantle finely chased in silver with bronze edging. On the saddle-bow, set between two rampant dragons and intricate floral motifs, is a Tibetan word “rta” which means “horse”, while a gemstone (ratna), also watched over by two drag-ons, is inset on the cantle. The seat is made up of a frame of wood padded and lined with dark red velvet, retained by star-shaped studs. The two coordinating knotted wool saddle rugs (one smaller and one larger consisting of two pieces sewn together down the centre) both present bright coloured floral motifs. The set also includes some parts of a horse’s harness: the front halter, decorated with chased silver plaques and a footman’s bridle, with wooden sticks and gilt plates. Antico baule (gam) da monastero in legno con motivi ricorrenti finemente decorati sul frontale, rinforzato da cerniere e serratura in ferro. Bauli come questo serviva-no per contenere oggetti di particolare valore quali i doni recati dai devoti al mona-stero come broccati e accessori cerimoniali, o per riporre i costumi e le maschere dei danzatori Cham. I bauli erano inventariati fra i tesori monastici e considerati parte integrante della ricchezza del monastero. Spesso venivano commissiona-ti da autorità religiose che per le decorazioni si avvalevano dei migliori maestri di thangka dell’epoca, oppure erano regalati dai fedeli che sceglievano i legni più pregiati e gli artisti più abili per aggiungere valore alla loro offerta. In questo esemplare si notano tre animali mitologici a guardia del prezioso contenuto al quale era destinata la cassa. Nel medaglione centrale è raffigurato un leone delle nevi, sovrastato da un fior di loto dischiuso su cui poggia la ciotola ricolma di gemme (ratna), ai suoi lati si ergono due makara, dal corpo sinuoso e la probos-cide impennata, intricati motivi floreali completano l’opera. Il disegno, dai pigmenti ossidati, è molto raffinato ed è presente solo su un pannello del baule, gli altri lati sono di un bel legno di pino al naturale con la tipica patina regalata dal tempo.

An antique monastic wooden trunk (gam) decorated with finely decorated recurring frontal motifs, reinforced with iron hinges and lock. Trunks like this were used to contain valuable objects such as gifts from devotees to the monastery including brocades and ceremonial accessories, or for storing the Cham dancers’ masks and costumes. The trunks were among the treasures inventoried by the monasteries and were consid-ered an integral part of their wealth. They were often commissioned by religious authorities and the decoration was carried out by the most skilled masters of thangkas of the period, or were donated by the faithful who chose the best wood and most skilled artists to add value to their offering. In this example, three mythical beasts guard the valuable content that was destined to be conserved in this trunk. The central medallion depicts a snow lion, surmounted by an open lotus flower upon which a bowl full of gemstones (ratna) rests, the sides bear two makara, with sinuous bodies and their trunks raised upwards; intricate floral motifs complete the work. The decoration with its oxidised pigments is very elegant and is present on only one panel, the other sides are a fine natural pine wood with a characteristic patina that has been gained over time.

Fusione in bronzo parzialmente dorato e cesellato. Scultura di notevoli dimensioni realizzata in lega metallica ad alto tenore di rame, presenta il Buddha Sakyamuni seduto nell’atto classico della “chiamata a testimone della terra”. La particolare conduzione stilistica e la ricercata finitura dell’insieme, pongono questa bella scultura ben al di sopra della vastissima, seppur pregevole, produzione di sculture a tema buddista del sec XVIII, identificandosi come opera devozionale di notevole spessore, destinata senz’altro ad un’importante committenza e realizzata sotto la di-retta supervisione del maestro nelle officine di Tuvkhun. Modelli simili e di dimensioni analoghe sono conosciuti e conservati in importanti musei internazionali, come il Buddha della Medicina o il Buddha Sakyamuni conservati entrambi al museo nazionale di Ulan Bator. A questo proposito è interessante il paragone con l’Amitayus del palazzo di Bogd-khan ad Ulan Bator. Come in quello infatti, la figura poggia su una base a doppio fiore di loto di particolari proporzioni, elegantemente delineata e preziosamente definita, completa di petali su tutto il perimetro secondo i dettami della miglior tradizione della scuola di Zanabazar. Di forma massiccia e ben proporzionata, anche in questo caso essa risulta accuratamente sigillata con lastra di rame, saldata ai bordi ed incisa al centro con doppio vajra illuminato in oro. Alta cm 23, la scultura presenta fusione a corpo pesante, eccellente rinettatura della superficie e ricca doratura della base e delle vesti, quest’ultime impreziosite da un fitto decoro a cesello in raffinato contrasto con il petto levigato e col nobile volto parzialmente policromato. Opera importante in cui è evidente l’alto grado di rifinitura e di morbida plasticità tipico delle opere del maestro e che si colloca di diritto nel ristretto numero delle opere “di bottega” ancora circolanti, prodotte nei monasteri tibetani intorno alla prima metà del sec XVIII.

A partially gilded and chased bronze cast. A large sculpture made of metal alloy with a high copper content, presents the Buddha Sakyamuni seated in the characteristic act of the “calling the earth to witness”. The particular overall style and the elegant finish, place this splendid sculpture well above the vast, albeit valuable, production of eighteenth century Buddhist sculptures, showing itself to be a devotional work of considerable depth and without doubt destined for an important patron and made under the direct supervision of the master in the Tuvkhun work-shops. Similar models of an analogous size are found in important international museums, such as the Medicine Buddha or Buddha Sakyamuni both in the National Museum of Ulan Bator. It is interesting to compare the Amitayus in the palace of Bogd-khan to that in Ulan Bator. As in that one, the figure rests on an unusual size double lotus flower, is elegantly delineated and well defined, complete with petals all around the perimeter according to the dictates of the finest tradition of the Zanabazar School. Of solid and well-proportioned shape, also in this example has it been carefully sealed with copper plate, welded at the edges and engraved in the centre with a double gilt illuminated Vajra. 23 cm high, the sculpture presents a heavily cast body, excellent metal-chased surface and rich gilding of the base and the robes, the latter chased with decorative motifs in fine contrast with the smooth torso and noble partially polychromed face. It is an important work that is clear from the high level of finish and soft plasticity characteristic of the works of the master and that is certainly one of the small number of “workshop” works still on the market, produced in the Tibetan monasteries around the first half of the eighteenth century.

Importante scultura in rame di pregevole la-vorazione a sbalzo e di notevoli dimensioni, raffi-gurante probabilmente il Bodhisattva Trascendente Mañjuś rī nella sua forma di Arapacana Mañjughoṣ a. Seduto a gambe incrociate in posizione padmāsana, ha il busto leggermente inclinato in una flessuosa postu-ra ed il braccio sinistro proteso verso l’alto in un elegante movimento. Il volto dall’ espressione serena é ravvivato da pigmenti policromi che esaltano l’espressività degli occhi e della bocca, mentre l’incarnato é esaltato da una tinteggia-tura in oro opaco. Ricchi gioielli abbelliti da smalti colorati adornano il torso del Bodhisattva.

Important large copper sculpture with fine embossed detail, probably representing the Transcendent Bodhisattva Mañjuś rī in the form of Arapacana Mañjughoṣ a. Sitting cross-legged in padmāsana, the upper body is slightly inclined in a supple posture and the left arm is elegantly stretched upwards. The face, with its serene expression, is brightened with polychrome pigments that exalt the expres-sive nature of the eyes and mouth, while the complexion is enhanced by an opaque gold finish. Rich jewels together with coloured enamels adorn the Bodhisattva’s torso.

Fusione in bronzo ad alto tenore di rame dorata e parzialmente cesellata. Scultura caratterizzata da un corpo pesante, che si impone per la eccezio-nale qualità formale ed esecutiva. Presente l’intera superficie coperta da un eccellente doratura che ne esalta le forme sinuose e levigate riproducenti una insolita e rara versione del Buddha Storico, Gautama Siddharta, nella sua ma-nifestazione ultraterrena di Vairocana, con le mani in bodhiagrimudra, “gesto della solenne illuminazione” seduto in posa ieratica su trono a doppio fiore di loto. Oltre che dal punto di vista puramente artistico, questa piccola scultura riveste una notevole importanza per la sua iconografia piuttosto rara. La vene-razione di Vairocana affonda le sue radici molto indietro nel tempo divenendo una figura imprescindibile del buddismo Vajrayana o “buddismo esoterico”, collocandosi al centro del culto dei “cinque Buddha della saggezza” come rap-presentazione universale dell’ Adhibuddha, principio originatore dell’universo spirituale e incarnazione di Sunyata, la Vacuità, da cui dipende il carattere illusorio ed incerto del mondo. Solo attraverso Sunyata ed il suo riconosci-mento deriva ogni vera illuminazione, come indica il gesto solenne delle mani, dove l’indice della destra, l’Uno, l’Assoluto, è avvolto e nascosto dalle cinque dita della sinistra che simboleggiano la natura ingannevole dei sensi e del mondo fenomenico.

A partially chased ormolu cast. The sculpture is characterised by its heavy body, which stands out for its exceptional formal quality and execution. The entire surface presents a fine gilding, which en-hances the smooth and sinuous forms producing an unusual and rare version of the Historical Buddha, Gautama Siddharta, in his afterworld manifestation of Vairocana, with his hands in bodhiagrimudra, the “solemn gesture of enlightenment” seated in a hi-eratic posture on a double lotus throne. Apart from the purely artistic point of view, this small sculpture is of considerable importance for its rather rare ico-nography. The veneration of Vairocana has its roots way back in time and is a fundamental figure in Va-jrayana Buddhism or “esoteric Buddhism”, as he is the central “five Buddhas of wisdom” as the univer-sal representation of Adhibuddha, principle origina-tor of the spiritual universe and incarnation of Sun-yata, Emptiness, on which the illusory and uncertain nature of the world. Only through Sunyata and his recognition comes every true enlightenment, as is indicated by the solemn gesture of the hands, where the forefinger of the right hand, the One, the Absolute, is wrapped and hidden by the five fingers of the left hand that symbolise the deceptive nature of senses and of the phenomenal world.

In questa particolare manifestazione dal volto sereno e dalla postura stante, la divinità, inserita all' interno di una semplice prabha, sfoggia quattro braccia, due erette ad angolo e due stese. Porta come attributi la clava, la ruota, una conchiglia ed un loto. E' pos-sibile notare inoltre sulla superficie, tracce di doratura e di laccatura rossa nello sfondo dell' aureola. In alto a sinistra é osservabile invece una scritta che potrebbe indicarne la data di creazione.

Fusione in bronzo caratterizzata da un corpo pesante con tracce di doratura e laccatura originale. Scultura raffigurante Bhudda seduto su un grande fiore di loto, decorato a tre strati di petali rovesciati. A gambe incrociate, nella posa vajrasana, si presenta con una mano al-zata e l’altra abbassata, il che farebbe pensare alla versione ‘’seduta’’ della abhaya mudra, simboleggiate l’offerta di protezione ai seguaci e la conseguente liberazione dalle paure. L’oggetto stretto nella mano sinistra è una piccola fiala (Kalasa) di nettere dell’immortalità (amrta), che rappresenta il Nirvana. E’ ragionevole pesante che sopra entram-be le spalle recasse due dei simboli riconducibili alla figura del Mai-treya Buddha, uno dei quali certamente una ruota (Chakra) poggiata su un loto, a significare che sarà lui a rimettere in moto la ruoto del Dharma. Interessante fusione di insolite dimensioni priva della base originaria a piedistallo.


Heavy bronze cast with traces of original gilding and lacquer. The sculpture depicts Bhudda seated on a large lotus flower, decorated with three layers of overturned petals. Cross-legged in the vajrasana posture, with one hand raised and the other lowered, which suggests the ‘’seated’’ version of the abhaya mudra, symbolising the offer of protection to his followers and the consequent liberation from fear. He holds in his left hand a small phial (Kalasa), nectar of immortality (amrta), that represents Nirvana. Over both shoulders lie two of sym-bols related to the Maitreya Buddha, one of which is certainly a wheel (chakra) resting on a lotus, signifying that it will be he who restarts the Dharma wheel rotating. An interesting cast of unusual dimensions, without its original pedestal base.

L'assenza degli attributi laterali ne impedisce l'identifi-cazione certa.

His robe is laminated with gold; his face (which shows some polychromy) and his arms still mantain traces of silver lamination. The statue lacks its typical features, making it difficult to identify him with certainty.

Fusione in bronzo dorato di raffinata esecuzione, raffigurante il Dharmapāla Mahākāla nella sua versione a sei braccia. Di espressione irata, indossa una co-rona a cinque teschi a contenere una fiammeggiante capigliatura. Nelle sei mani porta il rosario mālā, la kartika e la kapāla, ma in questa particolare opera il tambu-ro e il laccio, tipici di questa forma, sono andati perduti. Dietro di se tende una pelle di animale e sotto i suoi piedi schiaccia Ganapati, anch'esso portatore di kapāla. Da notare il bel movimento di tutta la composizione e i molteplici gioielli, arricchiti da turchesi e coralli, che abbelliscono tutta la figura.

A finely made gilt bronze cast depicting the Dharmapāla Mahākāla in his version with six arms. With a wrathful expression he wears the five-skull crown to contain flaming hair. Behind him an animal skin is stretched out and under his feet lies Ganapati, also holding a kapāla. The composition presents fine movement thanks to the many jewels, including turquoise and coral stones, that adorn the whole figure.

Di raffinatissima fattura, come si può notare anche dai particolari, la protettrice Tārā mostra un corpo ag-graziato adornato da ricchi gioielli. La mano destra è morbidamente appoggiata al ginocchio nel gesto di garanzia dell’ esaudimento dei desideri, varadamudrā, mentre la sinistra è portata al petto e rivol-ta verso l’ esterno nella posizione di incoraggiamento abhayamudrā. Dall’ espressione dolce e serena, il viso sorridente è incorniciato da un’ elaborata corona a cinque punte.

Her right hands rests softy on her knee in a gesture of guaranteeing the granting of wishes, varadamudrā, while the left is turned outwards in a gesture of encouragement, abhayamudrā. with her sweet and serene expression, her face is framed by an elaborate five-point crown.

Bellissima statua in lega di rame di re-alizzazione nepalese, ma con una for-te influenza mongola. E' infatti possi-bile notare caratteristiche tipiche della scuola di Zanabazar: la bellissima ed intensa doratura, la pesantezza della fusione e l'estetica complessiva della base. Seduto in posizione padmāsana vi é qui rappresentato il Buddha tra-scendente Amitāyus (Tshe-dpag-med Iha-dgu). Con le mani adagiate in grembo nel gesto dhyānamudrā, tiene la kalaśa riccamente decorata, mentre la sua testa dal volto sereno é abbellita da una corona a cinque punte. Tutta la figura é inoltre adornata da gioielli i quali riportano piccole turchesi. Dietro la figura principale vi é una bellissima torana decorata con chimere Makara e nuvole che fuoriescono dalla bocca di un Kirtimukha. Nella parte retrostante vi é una spessa tinteggiatura rossa, ma di realizzazione posteriore.

A fine Nepalese copper statue al-loy, with a strong Mongolian influ-ence. Characteristics of the school of Zanabazar are clear for example in the beautiful and intense gilding, the heavy cast and the overall aesthetic nature of the base. Seated in padmāsana, the transcendent Buddha Amitāyus (Tshe-dpag-med Iha-dgu) is repre-sented here. With hands resting in his lap in dhyānamudrā, holding the richly decorated kalaśa and his head with his serene face is adorned with a five-pointed crown. The whole figure is also adorned with jewels including small turquoise stones. Behind the main figure there is a fine torana decorated with makara chimeras and clouds that come from the mouth of a Kirtimukha. In the background, there is a thick red wash but it may have been added at a a later date.

Seduta in padmāsana stringe nelle sue quattro mani il Vajra, il loto, la kalaśa, ed il gioiello della dottrina. Al centro della fronte sfoggia un terzo occhio e da dietro la nuca spuntano alcuni serpenti, a causa dei quali la figura parrebbe appartenere ad un gruppo di Nāga situati nel mandala di Kālacakra. Ha strette in vita due gambe di una paredra il cui torso é andato perso, la quale origi-nariamente avrebbe dovuto avere una testa di animale.

Unique and beautiful bronze-gilt statue. Face and hair show polychrome remains. Seated in padmāsana position, he holds in his four hands the Vajra, the lotus, the kalaśa and the jewel of the Doctrine. He shows the third eye in the middle of his forehead and some snakes come out of the back of his head. These snakes can lead to believe this figure to be part of a group of Nāgas of the mandala of Kālacakra. Around his waist the Nāga shows the paredra's legs (the torso is miss-ing here), which originally should have had an animal head.

The splendid Chinese-influenced cloisonné, (You), makes it much rarer and valuable compared to the more usual ones. The vivid colours on a blue ground alternate with interplay of floral motifs and pieces of furniture that can be found in the home surround the entire surface. The cover bears, set amidst various decorative motifs, the Tao symbol with a pink Yin and black Yang. The bronze bands are surmounted by Chinese blue cloisonné rings with the symbol of longevity repeated on the entire circumference.

The deity is depicted seated majestically on the resting white horse covered in rich detail and is impressive for the aura of austere nobility, whilst the nervous lines of the drapery and the animal give a liveliness, even if fragmented, to the hieratic fascinating sculpture.

Finely executed and characterised by the minute detail in the drapery and the serene facial expression. Amitabha is counted amongst the five Dhyani Buddhas (together with Aksobhya, Amoghasiddhi, Ratnasambhava and Vairocana) and his veneration is very common in the whole of the East. In Tibet, the Sutra by Amitabha was translated in the 8th century and the religious practice that he followed was introduced by Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava. From then on, Amitabha has enjoyed great popularity in the whole region. According to various Buddhist sources, thanks to the strength of the vows he swore to when he was Bodhisattva with the name Dharmakara, Amitabha possesses the possibility to purify those who invoke him, helping them in the journey towards illumination. This characteristic means that he is the only way of achieving illumination thanks to the vows that are independent from the merits and the religion of those who pray to him.

Fusione in bronzo a patina scura con tracce di doratura. Raffinata scultura raffigurante il Buddha che incede in posa ieratica con la mano sinistra alzata in abhayamudra. Il corpo flessuoso e mar-catamente asessuato della divinità, si mostra rivestito dalla attil-lata uttarasanga che lascia interamente scoperta la spalla destra, mentre il samghati, come di consueto, crea un elegante appiglio visivo sull'ampia e levigata superficie del torso. La fusione pesan-te, caratterizzata dalle linee sinuose, ripropone in ogni dettaglio l'iconografia del cosiddetto walking Buddha, creazione artistica tipicamente Thai. Insieme al Buddha seduto, a quello in piedi ed a quello reclinato, questo costituisce infatti uno dei quattro modelli classici della statuaria tailandese. Il modello iconografico prende origine da un episodio della vita del Buddha dove si parla del suo ritorno sulla terra dopo la ascesa al Paradiso per incontrare lo spirito della madre defunta. Sebbene questo tema fosse stato già esplorato nella pittura e nei bassorilievi in stucco comuni a molte aree dell'estremo oriente, compreso Burma e Sri Lanka, solo in Thailandia, nel regno di Sukhothai, esso si sviluppa com-piutamente in sculture a tutto tondo, dando origine, intorno alla metà del sec. XIV, a veri e propri capolavori di eterea ed eterna bellezza.

Cast bronze with dark patina and gilt traces. Elegant sculpture of the Buddha depicted walking forward in a hieratic pose with his left hand raised in abhayamudra. The sinuous body with its mark-edly asexual nature, is shown covered in a tight-fitting uttarasan-ga that leaves the right shoulder entirely bare, while the samgha-ti, as is the norm, creates an elegant visual stress on the wide, smooth surface of his upper body. The heavy cast, characterised by sinuous lines, repeats the iconography of the so-called walk-ing Buddha in all the aspects of this typically Thai artistic figure. Together with the seated Buddha, in both its standing and reclin-ing versions, this constitutes one of the four classical models of Thai statuary. The iconographic model is taken from an episode in the life of the Buddha where it talks of his return to earth after the ascension to Heaven to meet the spirit of his dead mother. Even though this had already been explored in the painting and stucco bas-reliefs in many areas of the Far East, including Burma and Sri Lanka, only in the Sukhothai kingdom in Thailand, did it fully develop in sculptures in the round, giving rise around the mid-14th century, to true masterpieces of ethereal and eternal beauty.

Eccellente esempio di pittura a tema buddhista, presenta nella composizione contami-nazione di tipo taoista e sciamanico, tipiche della complessa religiosità coreana. Dipinto importante per qualità e dimensioni, destinato sicuramente ad essere esposto in un tempio primario alle spalle della grande scultura centrale. Ben conservato, mantiene quasi intatta la vivace policromia tipica delle pitture coreane di questo periodo.

A superb example of Buddhist painting, it presents the characteristic Taoist and Shamanist composition, typical of the complex Korean religion. Important for its quality and size, it was certainly made for a main temple to be placed behind the large central sculpture. It is well preserved, and maintains almost all the bright polychrome, characteristic of Korean paintings of this period.

Vendere

Florence Number Nine con i suoi esperti è a disposizione di chiunque per una valutazione gratuita dei propri oggetti ai fini d’asta. La stima può avvenire, previo appuntamento telefonico, presentando gli oggetti nella sede di Via Poggio Imperiale n.9, ovvero inviando idonea documentazione fotografica corredata di tutte le informazioni utili alla stima dell’oggetto.

Qualora il proprietario decida di conferire a FNN l’incarico di vendere i propri oggetti in asta, alla loro consegna verrà invitato a sottoscrivere un “mandato a vendere”, di cui riceverà copia, contenente la lista degli oggetti da mettere in asta, i prezzi di riserva per ciascuno di essi determinato, l’importo della commissione pattuita e gli eventuali costi per assicurazione, foto, trasporto ed ogni altra spesa che si rendesse necessaria. Il Mandante-Venditore dovrà inoltre fornire il proprio codice fiscale ed esibire un documento d’identità per l’annotazione sui registri di P.S. come previsto dalle vigenti leggi in materia.

Mandato per la vendita

È l’importo minimo (al netto delle commissioni) stabilito dal venditore al di sotto del quale l’oggetto affidato non può essere venduto. Detto importo è strettamente riservato e non viene rivelato dal Ban-ditore in Asta. Qualora il prezzo minimo non venga raggiunto, il lotto risulterà invenduto e l’oggetto verrà ritirato dall’Asta.

Riserva

Sui lotti venduti è dovuta dal Mandante-Venditore alla Casa d’Aste una commissione sul prezzo di aggiudicazione pari al 15% previo accordo tra le parti. Su tale commissione è dovuta dal venditore l’IVA come per legge.

Commissioni

Il D.lg 118/2006 ha previsto per gli autori di opere e di manoscritti ed i loro eredi il c.d. diritto di segui-to, cioè il diritto ad un compenso sul prezzo di ogni vendita, successiva alla prima, dell’opera originale. Detto compenso, dovuto nel caso il prezzo di vendita sia pari o superiore ai € 3.000, è determinato nella misura che segue:

1. 4% per la parte del prezzo di vendita compresa tra € 3.000 ed € 50.000;2. 3% per la parte del prezzo di vendita compresa tra € 50.000,01 ed € 200.000;3. 1% per la parte del prezzo di vendita compresa tra € 200.000,01 ed € 350.000;4. 0,5% per la parte del prezzo di vendita compresa tra € 350.000,01 ed € 500.000;5. 0,25% per la parte del prezzo di vendita superiore ad € 500.000

FNN è tenuta per legge a versare il “diritto di seguito” per conto dei venditori alla Società italiana degli autori ed editori (SIAE) e tratterrà il relativo importo dalle somme dovute al Mandante-Venditore.

Trascorsi circa 30 giorni lavorativi dalla data dell’asta, e comunque una volta ultimate le operazioni d’incasso, provvederemo alla liquidazione, dietro emissione di una fattura contenente in dettaglio le commissioni e le altre spese addebitate.

Le aste sono aperte al pubblico, la partecipazione è libera e senza obbligo alcuno di acquisto. Vengo-no precedute da un’esposizione dei lotti in vendita durante la quale è possibile esaminare gli oggetti e chiedere chiarimenti ai nostri esperti. Tutti gli oggetti vengono venduti “come visti”.Normalmente i lotti vengono posti in vendita seguendo l’ordine di catalogo e con il numero ad essi assegnato in catalogo. Il Battitore ha però facoltà di mutare l’ordine di presentazione dei lotti, di riunire più lotti tra loro o di separare i lotti. Il ritmo di vendita è approssimativamente di 90-100 lotti l’ora ma può variare a seconda della tipologia degli oggetti.

Come acquistare in Asta

Per partecipare alla gara e fare un’offerta, occorre procedere alla registrazione che potrà essere effet-tuata direttamente in sede oppure via e-mail. Ai partecipanti in sala verrà fornita una paletta numerata con la quale potranno effettuare le offerte.

All’asta si può partecipare essendo fisicamente presenti in sala e rivolgendo direttamente al Battitore le proprie offerte di acquisto. Prima di partecipare all’asta è però necessario iscriversi e ricevere la propria “paletta”.

Si può partecipare alla gara d’asta per singoli lotti anche telefonicamente. I nostri centralinisti vi con-tatteranno durante l’asta, vi riferiranno le offerte fatte in sala e comunicheranno al Battitore le vostre offerte. Per usufruire di questa possibilità occorre inoltrare a FNN, entro e non oltre le ore 12 del gior-no precedente a quello fissato per l’asta, apposita richiesta scritta secondo il modello predisposto. Le richieste verranno soddisfatte nei limiti del numero di linee telefoniche disponibili al momento e rispettando l’ordine di priorità nella presentazione delle richieste. È consigliato formulare già nel modulo di richiesta una offerta di acquisto nel caso che motivi tecnici ci impediscano di contattarvi telefonicamente.

È possibile partecipare all’asta anche mediante offerta scritta inviando a FNN il modulo predisposto con l’indicazione del lotto e del prezzo massimo offerto. FNN parteciperà per vostro conto alla gara

nei limiti del mandato conferitole. Il modulo predisposto, con allegata la fotocopia di un documento di identità, dovrà pervenire alla Casa d’Aste almeno 12 ore prima della data fissata per la gara.

Il prezzo di partenza costituisce l’importo della prima offerta valida e la base per il successivo rilancio. L’importo del rilancio viene stabilito dal Battitore in una percentuale, generalmente del 10% dell’ultima offerta valida. In ogni caso il Battitore potrà variare l’importo dei rilanci nel corso dell’asta.

I lotti, pagati nei tempi e modi sopra riportati dovranno essere ritirati entro 7 (sette) giorni a cura e spese dell’aggiudicatario, salvo diverso accordo con la Casa d’Aste.Per le proprietà che rimangono nei magazzini oltre detto termine, verranno applicate al compratore le spese di immagazzinaggio e, se ritenuto opportuno, di assicurazione del bene acquistato. La FNN sarà comunque esonerata da qualsiasi responsabilità in ordine alla custodia ed all’eventuale deterio-ramento dei lotti.FNN può, previo accordo scritto con l’aggiudicatario, curare a spese e rischio di quest’ultimo l’imbal-laggio ed il trasporto del lotti venduti.

Il pagamento dei lotti dovrà essere effettuato, in Euro, entro il giorno successivo alla aggiudicazione, utilizzando uno dei seguenti mezzi di pagamento.

- contanti nei casi previsti dalla legge.- assegno circolare non trasferibile intestato a: Florence Number Nine srl- bonifico bancario presso conto da comunicare in privato.- assegno bancario solo previo accordo con la Direzione amministrativa.

Condizioni

1. Mandato a vendere – Il Mandatario Florence Number Nine S.r.l. vende all’asta, in base alle proprie condizioni di vendita, agendo in nome e per conto del Mandante-Venditore. La vendita produce effetti direttamente sul Venditore e sul Compratore, senza assunzione di responsabilità da parte della FNN salvo quelle derivanti dal mandato ricevuto.

2. Accettazione – Il Mandante-Venditore dichiara espressamente di conoscere le condizioni di vendita e di averle preventivamente accettate.

3. Commissioni – La commissione dovuta dal Mandante-Venditore al Mandatario sarà calcolata per ogni singolo contratto sulla base di una percentuale sul venduto pari al 15% previo accordo tra le parti. Su tale commissione è dovuta dal Mandante-Venditore l’IVA come per legge.

4. Riserva – Il valore degli oggetti sarà stimato in euro. Ogni oggetto sarà corredato da un prezzo mini-mo di vendita (c. d. riserva) fissato di comune accordo e mantenuto segreto tra il Mandante-Venditore ed il Mandatario, prezzo al di sotto del quale, salvo diverso accordo scritto, l’oggetto non potrà essere venduto.

5. Gara d’Asta – I beni verranno aggiudicati al maggior offerente ed il prezzo si intende in contanti. Non è opponibile alla Casa d’Aste il trasferimento a terzi di lotti già aggiudicati. FNN riterrà unicamente re-sponsabile per il pagamento del prezzo l’aggiudicatario. La partecipazione all’asta in nome e per conto di terzi dovrà essere comunicata alla Casa d’Aste prima dell’inizio della gara.

6. Durante l’asta il Banditore ha la facoltà di mutare l’ordine di presentazione dei lotti, di ritirarne uno o più, di riunire più lotti tra loro o di dividerne uno in più lotti.

7. I lotti sono aggiudicati dal Battitore; in caso di contestazioni, il lotto disputato viene rimesso all’in-canto nella seduta stessa sulla base dell’ultima offerta raccolta. L’offerta effettuata in sala prevale sempre sulle commissioni d’acquisto di cui al n. 13.

8. Diritti d’Asta – Alla cifra di aggiudicazione di ogni singolo lotto sono da aggiungere a carico del com-pratore i diritti d’asta in ragione dei seguenti scaglioni percentuali: 22% per valori fino a € 30.000,00, 20% per valori per valori eccedenti questo limite e fino a € 100.000,00 e del 15% per tutti i valori eccedenti quest’ultimo limite. Sui diritti d’asta è poi dovuta l’IVA come per legge.

9. Invenduti – Con riferimento agli oggetti andati invenduti in asta, il Mandante-Venditore concede al Mandatario, per un periodo di 45 giorni successivi alla data dell’asta, la facoltà di procedere alla loro vendita a mezzo trattativa privata. In questo caso il prezzo di vendita sarà pari alla “riserva” con una riduzione del 10% ovvero della maggior percentuale da concordarsi con il Mandante-Venditore.

10. Vendita diretta – Su incarico del Mandante la Casa d’Aste potrà procedere alla vendita diretta del bene. L’oggetto verrà offerto in vendita a prezzo fisso, senza gara d’asta. Anche in tal caso FNN agirà come mandataria con rappresentanza. Le commissioni spettanti alla Casa d’aste sono le stesse pre-viste al precedente n. 3.

11. Catalogo – Le valutazioni riportate in catalogo, espresse in Euro, sono puramente indicative ed effettuate ai fini d’asta. Le descrizioni in esso riportate rappresentano solo un’opinione, sia pur qua-lificata, e non espongono la Casa d’Aste ad alcuna responsabilità. Eventuali contestazioni dovranno essere formulate per iscritto entro 8 (otto) giorni dall’aggiudicazione.

12. Esposizione pre-asta – Ogni Asta verrà preceduta da un’esposizione dei lotti. Durante l’esposizione il Direttore della vendita sarà a disposizione dei potenziali acquirenti per i chiarimenti del caso. L’espo-sizione ha lo scopo di consentire la verifica dello stato di conservazione e delle qualità degli oggetti posti in vendita, nonché di chiarire eventuali errori ed inesattezze riportate in catalogo. 13. Commissioni d’acquisto – FNN può accettare offerte d’acquisto formulate per iscritto o telefoni-camente su mandato di coloro che, pur volendo partecipare alla gara d’asta, non possono essere fisi-camente presenti alla stessa. In tal caso i lotti saranno acquistati al prezzo più basso consentito dalla presenza di altre offerte sugli stessi lotti e compatibilmente con le riserve registrate. FNN non si ritiene responsabile, pur adoperandosi con il massimo scrupolo, per eventuali errori in cui dovesse incorrere nell’esecuzione di offerte (scritte o telefoniche) ricevute. Nel compilare l’apposito modulo, l’offerente è pregato di controllare accuratamente i numeri dei lotti, le descrizioni e le cifre indicate. La richiesta di partecipazione telefonica sarà accettata solo se formulata per iscritto prima della vendita. Nel caso di due offerte scritte identiche per lo stesso lotto, prevarrà quella ricevuta per prima.

15. Ritiro degli acquisti – I lotti acquistati e pagati dovranno essere ritirati entro 7 (sette) giorni a cura e spese dell’aggiudicatario, salvo diverso accordo con la Casa d’Aste. Per le proprietà che rimangono nei magazzini oltre detto termine verranno applicate al compratore le spese di immagazzinaggio e, se ritenuto opportuno, di assicurazione del bene acquistato. La FNN sarà comunque esonerata da qual-siasi responsabilità in ordine alla custodia ed all’eventuale deterioramento dei lotti.

16. Beni notificati ex L. n.1089/39 – Per gli oggetti sottoposti alla notifica ai sensi degli artt. 2,3, e 5 della legge n. 1089 del 1 Giugno 1939, gli acquirenti sono tenuti all’osservanza di tutte le disposizioni di legge vigenti in materia. L’aggiudicatario, in caso di esercizio del diritto di prelazione da parte dello Stato, non potrà pretendere da FNN o dal Venditore alcun rimborso sul prezzo e sulle commissioni d’asta già corrisposte.

17. Esportazione – L’esportazione dei beni culturali è disciplinata dal Decreto Legislativo del 22 gennaio 2004 per quanto riguarda l’esportazione verso i paesi Comunitari e dal Regolamento CEE n. 391/92 del 9 dicembre 1992 – come modificato dal Regolamento CEE n. 2469/96 del 16 dicembre 1996 e dal Regolamento CEE n. 974/01 del 14 maggio 2001 – per quanto riguarda l’esportazione nei paesi Ex-tracomunitari. FNN non risponde del rilascio dei relativi permessi d’esportazione né può garantirne il rilascio. La mancata concessione delle suddette autorizzazioni non può giustificare l’annullamento dell’acquisto né il mancato pagamento del prezzo.

18. Diritto di seguito – Ai sensi del Decreto Legge n.118 del 30 Dicembre 2006 il Mandante-Venditore si fa carico del pagamento, ove previsto, del “diritto di seguito” che sarà trattenuto dall’importo netto a lui destinato dal Mandatario e che questi avrà cura di riversare alla SIAE.

19. Foro competente – Le presenti Condizioni di Vendita vengono accettate automaticamente da quanti concorrono all’asta. Per tutte le controversie è stabilita la competenza del Foro di Firenze.

Corrispettivo d’asta

Per ogni lotto venduto l’acquirente dovrà corrisponderà a FNN un corrispettivo d’asta calcolato in misura percentuale sul prezzo di aggiudicazione (il 22% se il prezzo non supera i € 30.000,00; il 20% se il prezzo eccede questo limite ma non supera i € 100.000,00; il 15% se il prezzo supera anche quest’ultimo limite). Su tale corrispettivo è dovuta dall’acquirente l’IVA come da legge.

Corrispettivo d’asta e oneri fiscali

Pertanto il costo finale per l’acquirente sarà costituito dal prezzo di aggiudicazione maggiorato dei diritti d’asta e dell’IVA al 21% calcolata sui diritti d’asta stessi.

FNN può concordare con il Mandatario la vendita diretta, cioè senza gara d’asta, degli oggetti ad essa affidati. Gli oggetti verranno offerti in vendita ad un prezzo prefissato d’accordo col Mandante. La vendita produrrà effetti direttamente tra Mandatario e terzo acquirente.Nelle operazioni di vendita diretta per conto terzi, sul prezzo esposto saranno applicate le seguenti condizioni:1 – Per le singole vendite di oggetti il cui prezzo rientri nei 30.000= Euro saranno applicate le seguenti percentuali: mandante-venditore 10% (IVA esclusa); compratore 22% (IVA esclusa)2 – Per valori eccedenti i 30.000= Euro e fino a Euro 100.000= Euro saranno applicate le seguenti percentuali: mandante-venditore 8% (IVA esclusa); compratore 20% (IVA esclusa)3 – Per la vendita di oggetti il cui prezzo ecceda i 100.000= Euro saranno applicate le seguenti per-centuali: mandante-venditore 5% (IVA esclusa); compratore 15% (IVA esclusa).

FNN è a disposizione di chiunque voglia sottoporre i propri oggetti d’arte o di antiquariato all’esame dei suoi esperti per una valutazione. La stima è indicativa e attribuita ai soli fini d’asta.Gli oggetti da stimare possono essere presentati all’esame dell’esperto competente direttamente in sede, previo appuntamento telefonico. È anche possibile inviare via fax o via e-mail all’attenzione dell’esperto, idonea documentazione fotografica corredata di tutte le notizie relative all’oggetto da stimare. È consigliabile utilizzare il modulo di “richiesta stima” già predisposto da FNN.Una idonea documentazione prevede fotografie nitide e dettagliate dell’oggetto ripreso da varie an-golazioni con ingrandimenti relativi a dettagli importanti quali firme, marchi, mancanze ecc. FNN and its experts are at your disposal for a free valuation of objects you wish to sell at auction. You can call us or email us and we will arrange an appointment to bring your property to our offices in Via Poggio Imperiale 9, where our specialists will make the valuation. Alternatively, you can send pictures and detailed info of your property to our e-mail address: [email protected], and our ex-perts will do their best to provide a valuation.

If you decide to entrust FNN with the sale of your object, you will be asked to sign a “sale mandate” - in duplicate - containing: a list of the objects to be sold at auction; the reserve price for each of them; the amount of FNN’s commission; any possible cost for insurance, photos, transport, etc.The seller will be asked to provide his/her tax code and identity card for recording at the P.S. registers according to the current regulations.

The reserve price is the confidential minimum price (after commission) set by the consignor. It is strictly confidential and protected by the auctioneer.If bidding ends before the reserve is reached, the property will not be sold.

European Union’s Artist’s Resale Right Directive has introduced the right of authors of original works and manuscripts, and their heirs, to an economic interest in every sale of the work concerned, fol-lowing the first - the so-called “resale right”.

This royalty has to be paid when the sale price is over € 3.000,00 and it is calculated as follows:1. 4% for the portion of the sale price from € 3.000,00 to € 50.000,00;2. 3% for the portion of the sale price from € 50.000,01 to € 200.000,00;3. 1% for the portion of the sale price from € 200.000,01 to € 350.000,00;4. 0,5% for the portion of the sale price from € 350.000,01 to € 500.000,00;5. 0,25% for the portion of the sale price exceeding € 500.000,00;Florence Number Nine is bound to pay the “resale right” on behalf of the sellers to the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE). The right will be withheld by FNN from the amount due to the seller.

About 30 days after the date of the sale, or after the collection of payment has been completed, we shall proceed to settlement through the issue of an invoice detailing the commissions and other ex-penses charged.

Third Party Liability. Every person on Florence Number Nine’s premises at any time shall be deemed to be there at his/her own risk. He/she shall have no claim against FNN in respect of any accident which may occur or injury, damage or loss howsoever caused, save insofar as the injury, damage or loss shall be caused by the direct negligence of FNN’s employees.

Auctions are open to the public with free entrance and there is no obligation to buy.Usually an exhibition of the lots on sale will precede the auction, to let customers examine the objects.Usually the lots are sold in progressive numerical order, according to the catalogue.FNN reserves the right to change the presentation order of the lots, and to aggregate different lots or separate the objects of a lot.Normally we are able to sell 90-100 lots per hour, depending on the objects.

FNN AS AGENT - Except as otherwise stated, FNN acts as agent for the seller. The contract for the sale of any auction lot (“Lot”) is therefore made between the seller of the Lot (“Seller”) and the buyer of Lot.

All Lots in the Auction Catalogue are sold on a “as is and where is” basis with any defects, damages, repairs or otherwise and neither FNN nor Seller makes any representation or warranty, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or condition of the Lot or as to the correctness of description.

Before buying, all buyers are responsible to check, verify and satisfy themselves or to engage their own independent experts to do so concerning thecondition or otherwise of any Lot and/or for the matters referred to in the Catalogue, condition report or otherwise.

Withdrawal of Lot Prior to Sale - FNN reserves the right to withdraw any Lot at any time before the Sale or during bidding. Unless otherwise announced or notified by the auctioneer at the time of sale, all bids are per Lot as numbered in the eCatalogue and no Lot shall be divided for sale.

FNN has absolute and sole discretion to refuse any bid; to advance the bidding in such a manner as the auctioneer may decide; to withdraw any Lot; to determine the successful bidder in the case of error or dispute whether during or after the Sale; to cancel the Sale at any point during the Sale; and/or to reoffer and resell any Lot unsold or in dispute. If any dispute arises during and after Sale, the decision of the auctioneer is final and conclusive and the buyer cannot hold FNN and/or Seller liable therefor.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to apply for any applicable export license (including CITES, handling and administrative charges or any other expenses of the competent authorities and/or service provider in connection therewith) to export out of Italy or for import license to the said place of import designated by buyer and such license can be in any name or description given by the country concerned. The fact that the buyer wishes to apply for any import or export licenses shall not in any way delay, affect or discharge the buyer’s obligation to pay within the said payment conditions nor FNN’s right to charge interest as mentioned below or storage charges for late or nonpayment/collection.

You can participate in an auction by being physically present in the salesroom. To place a bid, you simply have to raise your paddle until the auctioneer acknowledges you. Bids start from the so called “starting price”, which is published on the catalogue (please consider that the starting price is usually lower than the lot’s estimate)You may also wish to bid online through any of our live online auction providers and registration with these providers is necessary in order to bid. Details of these providers can be found on the FNN web-site.

A registration is needed to participate in an auction and bid. You can register directly at the auction house or via email. The attendees will be given a numbered paddle to place their bids. For higher value Lots, the buyer may be required to pay a deposit when registering to bid. You may also register to bid online through any of our live online auction providers and registration with these providers is neces-sary in order to bid. Details of these providers can be found on the FNN website.

“FNN will not be responsible for any errors or differences in Language translations in our catalogues or communications with clients. Translations should be used as a guide only. “

You can participate in an auction via telephone. Our operators will call you during the auction, reporting the offers made in the auction room and they will communicate the auctioneer your bid.

You can participate in an auction also submitting a written offer, filling the appropriate form and indi-cating your maximum offer for a specific lot. FNN will bid on behalf of you, according your mandate. The filled in form has to reach the auction house no less than 12 hours before the scheduled time for the auction.

The starting price is the sum of the first valid offer and represents the base for the following bids.The auctioneer usually raises the price by 10% of the last bid. In any case, the auctioneer may vary the rate of bid raising in the course of the auction.

The bought lots must be paid – in Euro - no later than the day after the sale, in one of the following ways:

- cash- bank draft payable to: FLORENCE NUMBER NINE srl- wire transfer (bank details will be privately provided)- Credit Card – VISA and Mastercard

If the buyer fails to make full payment as required within FNN’s conditions,FNN shall be entitled in its absolute discretion to exercise one or more of the following rights or remedies (in addition to asser-ting any other rights or remedies available to FNN and/or Seller by Italian and EU Law):(i) to charge interest at 1.5% per month on the sale price of the Lot in question; (ii) to hold the defaulting buyer liable for the total amount due and to commence legal proceedings for its recovery together with interest, incidental charges and expenses and legal fees and costs on a full indemnity basis and any other payments to the fullest extent permitted under Italian and EU Law; (iii) to cancel the sale of such Lot; (iv) to resell the Lot publicly or privately on such terms as FNN shall think fit; (v) to forfeit any amount placed with FNN by buyer in part payment to FNN or Seller (but this is without prejudice to FNN and Seller to claim for the balance amount due and owing by buyer); (vi) to reject at any fu-ture auction any bids made by or on behalf of the buyer or to obtain a deposit from the buyer before accepting any bids; and (vi) to take other action(s) as FNN in its absolute discretion deems necessary or appropriate.

Regularly paid lots must be collected within 7 (seven) days at the purchaser’s own expense and risk, except in the case of different agreement.If you are not able to collect your property within this deadline, you will be subject to handling and storage charges by FNN.

Collecting your purchase

To participate via telephone you should send a written request no later than 12.00am of the day be-fore the auction, using the form provided by FNN.The requests will be satisfied within the limits of the availability of telephone lines at the time, with precedence given to the requests in order of receipt. We would therefore recommend customers to indicate in the request an offer that FNN can make on their behalf, solely in the event of technical connection problems.

FNN declines any responsibility concerning the conservation and safekeeping of the objects. Upon specific written instructions from the purchaser, FNN may, at the purchaser’s own expense and risk, arrange for packaging and transport.

3. Commission - The Consignor pays a commission to the agent for every single contract. This com-mission is 15% fixed by the parties. In addition, the Consignor has to pay IVA (VAT) according to law.

4. Reserve – The object’s value will be determined in Euro. Every object will be accompanied by a confidential minimum sale price (so called “Reserve”) agreed by FNN and the Consignor. If any bid is below this price, the auctioneer may reject the advance, and the objects itself is not sold.

5. Auction – The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer will be the purchaser and the price is understood cash. Transferring lots that have already been assigned to third doesn’t concern FNN in any way.Only responsible for the payment of the lot is the acknowledged purchaser. Those who wish ti participate at an auction on behalf of somebody else, have to communicate it to FNN before the auctions starts.

6. During the auction the auctioneer has faculty to change the presentation order of the lots; to cancel the sale of a lot; to aggregate more lots; to split a lot into different lots.

7. The auctioneer has absolute discretion in assigning the lots; in the case of error or dispute, the auc-tioneer can decide to re-open the bidding starting from the highest offer acknowledged. The bid in person has always the priority on the bidding commission – see n. 13

8. Auction rights – In addition to the purchase price the buyer has to correspond FNN the following auction rights: 22% for objects sold at a price up to € 30.000,00; 20% for objects sold at a price between € 30.000,01 and € 100.000,00; 15% for objects sold at a price over € 100.000,01. In addi-tion, the buyer has to pay IVA (VAT) according to law.

9. Unsold – If a lot is left unsold, the Consignor gives the auction house the faculty, for 45 days after the auction, to sell it on a private sale. In this case, the sale price will be equal to the Reserve price minus 10% or other price to fix in agreement with the Consignor.

10. Direct sale – If expressly requested by the Consignor, the auction house can sell a lot at a fixed price, with no bidding. Also in this case FNN acts as an agent. The commission due to the agent are the same expressed at n.3.

1. Sale mandate – Agent Florence Number Nine srl sells at auction, at its sale conditions, acting on behalf of the Consignor-Seller. The sale acts directly on the seller and the buyer, as FNN declines any responsibility except those expressed in the subscribed mandate.

2. Acknowledgment - The Consignor-Seller acknowledges that he/she is bound by these terms and conditions.

11. Catalogue – Evaluations reported on the catalogue, expressed in Euro, are simply indicative. The descriptions of the objects contained in it are merely an opinion, even if qualified, and the auction house declines any responsibility about them. Any complain has to be submitted in writing within 8 (eight) days from the purchase.

12. Exhibition – An exhibition of the auction property will be held prior to the auction. The sales manager will be at everyone’s disposal for any clarification. The exhibition gives opportunity to view, inspect and evaluate the property on sale, and to report inaccuracy or errors in the catalogue. All objects are sold “As is”.

13. Purchase commission – FNN accepts offers in writing or via telephone from those who cannot be present in person at the auction. In this case lots will be purchased at the lower price possible, considering other offers and reserve prices.FNN is not responsible for any mistake in conducting an offer received in writing or via telephone. While filling the dedicated form, the bidder is warmly invited to double-check the lot’s number, the description and the suggested price.Participating via telephone is allowed only if a written request has been submitted before the auction and approved by the auction house.In the event of two equal bids for the same lot, the first one that had been submitted takes priority.

14. Payment - The bought lots (and relative commissions, taxes and rights) must be payed no later than the day after the sale.

15. Collecting your purchase - Regularly paid lots must be collected within 7 (seven) days at the pur-chaser’s own expense and risk, except in the case of different agreement.If you are not able to collect your property within this deadline, you will be subject to handling and storage charges by FNN.FNN declines any responsibility concerning the conservation and safekeeping of the objects.

16. Notified goods ex L. n. 1089/39 – Objects that are subject to notification under artt. 2,3 and 5 (Ita-lian) law n. 1089 June 1, 1939, purchasers are bound to act in accordance with current law.If the State exerts its right of first refusal, the purchaser will not ask neither FNN nor the Seller any refund on the price and the commissions already payed.

17. Export – The export of cultural goods within the EC is ruled by Legislative Decree - January 22, 2004 – while the export towards non-European countries is ruled by EEC regulations n.391/92 – De-cember 9, 1992 - and further modifications.FNN is not responsible for any export permit and cannot guarantee its release. In the absence of a required permit, the purchaser cannot revoke the purchase and its related payment.

18. Resale right – According to legislative decree n.118 – December 30, 2006 – the Consignor takes charge, if provided for by law, of the so called “Resale right”, that will be withhold from the net price due by the Agent, who will take care to repay it to SIAE.

19. Competent court – The above Conditions of Sale are automatically accepted by those who take part at the auction. For any controversy, the competence belongs to the court of Florence, Italy.

We recommend to use the “Valuation request” form provided by FNN.

For a better result, please submit clear photographs of the object from different angles, with enlarg-ments and important details like signatures, stamps, etc.Don’ forget to note the size, material, technique and any other relevant information, including pre-vious valuations or expertise.

You will receive an answer by the same means as soon as possible, depending on the nature of the object itslef (however no later than 30 days).
