Parte A (6cfu)

 Lo spazio nella narrativa di Charles Dickens

In questo corso esamineremo la rappresentazione dello spazio nelle opere di CharlesDickens.

Ci concentreremo dapprima sulla rappresentazione dello spazio e della città – Londra in

particolare. In secondo luogo, analizzeremo la più vasta rete di interessi e problemiconnessi agli spazi progressivamente più ampi delle opere mature, e come lo spazio urbanosi rapporti a quello nazionale, europeo e imperiale.

In this course we shall examine how space is represented in the works of Charles Dickens.

We shall focus first on the representation of the city, and of London in particular. Secondly, we shall analyse the wider web of interests and problems in the progressively expandednarrative spaces of his later works, and how the urban space connects with the national,

the European and the imperial ones.
