las normas UNE EN, acogidas por el cen (comité europeo para la normalización), se consideran válidas en toda europa y comprenden todas las categorías de azulejos. prensados o extruidos, esmaltados y no esmaltados, de cualquier formato, únicamente de 1ª calidad. las normas Une en están en sintonía con algunas modificaciones de las nuevas normas internacionales ISO.
las normas establecen por cada grupo de productos, las dimensiones, las tolerancias dimensionales, las características mecánicas , físicas y químicas, el aspecto y la denominación de azulejos cerámicos.
