Françoise Nielly was born in Marseille

and now she lives and works in Paris.

She got noticed by her incredible

dexterity to handle the knife and the oil.

Exposing all over the world, her art tries

to move closer to the technique of the

Cubists which consists in a representation

of bodies of facets and a slightly acid pop

universe which is inspired by paintings of

Andy Warhol. Tasks spring.

Colors are lively. Faces appear in this chain

of knocks and forms. An effective mixture

which shakes the retina as a delicious but

bitter candy.

The forms and the volumes arise from

the color. These colors, lively and brilliant,

who remind her the colors of the

landscapes of the South of France where

she spent her childhood, offer to its

works an expressiveness, a strength and a

processing of the striking portrait.

Page 16: Bogamia edition 20

Her own way, of her own, Françoise Nielly

redoes the human face in each of his paintings.

And she redoes it with snout, with knife

gashed on the face. The brightness of life

which appear from her painting arise from a

hand-to-hand fight with the painting. The color

is launched as a missile. Her energy gives to

every touch the intensity of a sound vibration.

The spots of painting are musical touches,

Dissonant and noisy as the life.

Her painting falls between Fauvism and

Expressionism, which she characterizes with

a special Latin style particularly Mexican. She

describes her artistic work as “an attitude that

encases what I know how to use”, in which the

person and the artistic are conjugated, for this

reason she says “I am the conduit by which both

things are translated in one maneuver and it is

the moment when I lose all consciousness but

not the fury of my own instincts

““

Nurias’ work is literally produced by her hands,

since she paints almost entirely with her fin-

gertips. Her raw and organic creative process

quickly translates into a rage of unexpected col-

ors that evoke warmth and beauty.

This is how she arrives to the sensorial revela-

tions and the simplification of the human figure,

as well as the aggressive use of color to transmit

perceptions of courage and rage; those we see

in all of her work.”

to develop and apply her own unique style. She prefers dark atmosphere, melancholy, and loves to insert fantasy

elements to her work.

The premise "House", a carrier of intimacy,

emerges as the main and primitive

element of the creative process. This

private, interior, intimate and domestic

space gives way to another fundamental

principle, the "Waiting", which evidences

the femininity, belonging to the values

of intimacy and to the physical space of

each one, an interiority and a familiarity

that report to the personal territory. The

"House", which shelters the memory, the

dream, the intimacy and the solitude,

as the core of the work, it recalls the

philosopher Gaston Bachelard in the

analysis that he makes to this personal

abode and its connection with rationality

and irrationality. Thus, the "House" is,

while interior space, the place where the

dreams are born in loneliness moments

and also where to build the most intimate

and personal experiences.

It is among walls that materialize

narratives, by collecting experiences

confined to the home, where the

artistic process refers also to genre

painting, showing interior scenes,

routine situations or quotidian

frames, as well as the female figure

as an object of contemplation, but

without any open revolt.

The “interiorities” series grants

a continuity of a process around

interior scenes, a set that evoking

interiorities of the home as

domestic space and affective state

as well as a safe and a prisoner

place suggesting femininity.

“Interiorities” makes the observer a

voyeur, raising questions about the

pleasure of intimate contemplation

of the Other

The matrix, that appears in the foreground, which refers to the shield, protection, hideout or

enclosure of the private arena, reveals an ambiguity in the

position of the figures, expressing privacy, intimacy and some

sensuality, thus addressing a duality: public and private.

“I’ve always been firmly convinced that if every woman holds infinite capacity

for pure seduction should only have a desire to seek her own subjective

beauty. This thinking led my curiosity to view makeup as a tool for the

improvement of those small details that determine the feminine elegance.”

“The smell of coffee, or that a part of me the joyful young happy blond jumping,

smiling in the morning, the morning that always completes my soul I find

reasons why I want to photograph…”

the boundary of separation, union and metaphysical transformation.
