Dear Community of St. Augustine;
On writing this letter my soul gets filled with joy, because today, Monday the 18th of May, I celebrated the Eucharist again with the community. This second phase, in which our parish will be open again for the daily Masses, will prepare us to have a better idea of what to expect and how to act on the weekend of May 30th and 31st in which we will begin to celebrate the Sunday Masses really together.
On this Seven Sunday of Easter, we are celebrating the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. In the First Reading, from the Acts of the Apostles, the author, St. Luke, gives testimony of Jesus’ Ascension to Heaven and of the specific instruction He gave to His disciples: to be His witnesses everywhere, to the end of the earth. The Holy Spirit would enable the apostles to go all over the world to preach the Gospel.
The Lord promised to His disciples that He would be with them every day until the end of the world. We are witnesses and heirs of these Words of the Lord. The Holy Spirit will accompany us, guide us and strengthen us. Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus sends us into the world with a mission: to be His witnesses. For it, we must strengthen ourselves with the Spirit of Truth. Are we opening our hearts to receive the Gifts of the Spirit? Are we accomplishing our mission of being witnesses of the Lord? As we prepare ourselves to reopen our doors on the weekend that we will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, let us ask the Lord to guide us and enlighten us in this phase of the life of His Church in which we are living. Let us always trust that the Lord will show us the way and that the Holy Spirit is with us. May God bless us and grant us one more week of life and one less of COVID -19.
Querida Comunidad de San Agustín:
Al escribir estas palabras mi alma se llena de alegría pues hoy lunes 18 de mayo celebré nuevamente la Eucaristía con la comunidad. Esta segunda fase de reabrir nuestra parroquia para las misas diarias, nos ira preparando para tener una mejor idea de que esperar y cómo actuar el fin de semana del 30 y 31 de mayo cuando comencemos las misas dominicales.
En este séptimo Domingo de Pascua, estamos celebrando la Solemnidad de la Ascensión del Señor. En la primera lectura, San Lucas, autor de los Hechos de los Apóstoles, da testimonio de que Jesús ascendió al Cielo y le dejó a sus apóstoles unas instrucciones bien precisas: ser Sus testigos hasta en el último rincón de la Tierra. El Espíritu Santo capacitaría a los apóstoles para ir por todo el mundo, por todas partes a predicar el Evangelio.
El Señor se lo prometió a sus discípulos, El estaría con ellos todos los días hasta el fin del mundo. Nosotros somos testigos y herederos de esta palabra del Señor. El Espíritu Santo nos acompaña, nos guía, nos fortalece.
Hermanos, Jesús nos envía al mundo con una misión: ser Sus testigos. Para esto debemos fortalecernos con el Espíritu de la Verdad. ¿Estás abriendo tu corazón y tu vida para recibir los Dones del Espíritu? ¿Estás cumpliendo con tu misión de ser testigo del Señor?
Al ir preparándonos para reabrir las puertas de nuestra parroquia en el fin de semana que celebramos la fiesta de Pentecostés, pidámosle al Señor que El nos guie e ilumine en esta etapa de la vida de Su Iglesia en la que estamos viviendo. Confiemos siempre en el Señor que El nos mostrará el camino, el Espíritu Santo está con nosotros.
Que Dios nos bendiga y nos regale una semana más de vida y una menos de COVID -19.

We all long for the day when we can gather as a full parish family, hug our friends, and praise the Lord together, but until that time comes, let’s continue to act out of love and charity towards each other, and all do our part to keep our parish community as safe and healthy as possible.
Please be patient and courteous as we are following all guidelines that have been set in place for both daily and Sunday Masses. We may make adjustments to these guidelines after a few days once we see how it is working.
A) GENERAL INFORMATION Attendance at Masses will be restricted to adhere to the
public health orders. If you are sick or are experiencing any symptoms of
sickness, please stay at home. Those at high-risk or with pre-existing conditions are
highly encouraged to stay at home during this phase of re-opening. Remember, no one is required to attend Mass.
The dispensation from Sunday Mass is still in effect until further notice.
Even with the best health practices and increased efforts to clean the Church, there is a risk of infection anytime a person enters a public space.
Please know we will continue broadcasting our Sunday Mass via Facebook and YouTube.
For now, Masses will be limited to 25% capacity. Seating is limited and will be first come, first serve.
Chapel is closed until further notice.
B) BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME Wash and sanitize your hands. Please bring a face covering, such as a mask, scarf or
bandana that can fit over your nose and mouth. Older children will need one as well.
We encourage you to bring a personal bottle of hand sanitizer to use before coming forward for communion.
SUNDAY MASS celebration will begin MAY 30th & 31st
C) ARRIVING AT CHURCH
Please arrive at Church no more than 30 minutes prior to Mass.
Line up directly in front of the Church entrance practicing social distancing and with your mask on.
Each household will be directed by members of the staff to enter the building through the main doors in the middle. No other doors will be used for entering the Church.
Seating is limited; once we have reached our maximum occupancy the doors will be closed.
D) INSIDE THE CHURCH
Once inside, please sanitize your hands. There are to be no gatherings in the Narthex. As you enter the Church you will be able to place your
weekly offertory envelope or donation in a basket in the Narthex. We strongly encourage online giving on our website: staugch.org/online-giving.
We have identified the pews available for use and installed blue tape marking 6 foot increments to help you gauge for social distancing. Households may sit together keeping 6 feet distance from the next people in the pew.
You will be directed to an available pew by an usher. Please be mindful that you are not going to be able to pick “your pew” and you may be seated in an area other than where you “always sit.”
E) DURING MASS – Liturgical Changes
OFFERTORY: There will be no procession with the gifts. Collection baskets will not be passed during the offertory.
You will be able to place your offertory envelope or donation in a basket in the Narthex as you enter or exit the Church. We appreciate how faithfully you have supported our Church community.

OUR FATHER PRAYER: We will pray the Our Father without joining hands.
SIGN OF PEACE: There will be no shaking hands during the sign of peace. It
will be appropriate to offer a reverent bow and or a verbal greeting, “Peace be with you.”
COMMUNION: There will be no distribution of the Blood of Christ, ONLY
the Body of Christ. Communion will only be given on the hand. For those wearing mask and gloves, please do the following
in your pew: 1st: lower your masks 2nd: remove your gloves 3rd: use your personal hand sanitizer before Communion Parishioners will be instructed to come forward for the
reception of Holy Communion by section. Please wait on your pews and follow the instructions of the priest.
We have installed on the floor red tape marking 6 foot increments to help you during the communion line.
F) MASS DEPARTURE
After the final blessing, parishioners must remain in their pew.
After the clergy have processed out of the sanctuary, ushers will begin to direct the pews by section from back to front to immediately exit the sanctuary and the building.
Private prayer in the church and gatherings in the Narthex are not available after Masses in order to allow the STAFF to clean and disinfect the church for the next Mass.
We ask you to not linger to visit with friends, but rather head directly to your vehicle.
Our weekly bulletin will continue to be provided online on our parish website. Printed bulletins will not be available at this time.

VOLVIENDO A LA IGLESIA DE FORMA SEGURA
D) DENTRO DE LA IGLESIA
Una vez dentro, desinfecte sus manos.
No debe reunirse en el Nártex.
Al ingresar a la Iglesia, podrá colocar su sobre de ofertorio o su donación en una canasta ubicada en el Nártex. Recomendamos encarecidamente las donaciones en línea en nuestro sitio web: staugch.org/online-giving.
En los bancos hemos marcado con cinta adhesiva azul el lugar donde debe sentarse para mantener la debida distancia social. Las familias pueden sentarse junta manteniendo una distancia de 6 pies de las siguientes personas en el banco.
Un ujier lo dirigirá a un banco disponible. Tenga en cuenta que no podrá escoger “su asiento” y puede estar sentado en un área distinta de donde “se acostumbra a sentar”.
E) DURANTE LA MISA Cambios Litúrgicos

SIGNO DE LA PAZ: No estrecharemos las manos durante el signo de la paz. Será
apropiado ofrecer una reverencia o un saludo verbal, “La paz de Cristo”.
COMUNIÓN: No habrá distribución de la Sangre de Cristo, SÓLO el Cuerpo
de Cristo.
La comunión sólo se dará en la mano.
Para aquellos que usan máscara y guantes, en sus asientos haga lo siguiente:
1. baje su máscara a la barbilla, 2. quítese los guantes, 3. use su desinfectante de manos personal antes de la Comunión.
Los feligreses recibirán instrucciones de cuándo presentarse para recibir la Sagrada Comunión por sección. Por favor, espere en sus asientos y siga las instrucciones del sacerdote.
Hemos marcado el piso para ayudarles a mantener la distancia de 6 pies durante la línea de comunión.

Las MISAS DOMINICALES comenzarán el 30 y 31 de mayo
Todos anhelamos el día en que podamos reunirnos como una familia parroquial completa, abrazar a nuestros amigos y alabar al Señor juntos, pero hasta que llegue ese momento, sigamos actuando con amor y caridad unos con otros, y hagamos nuestra parte para mantener nuestra comunidad parroquial lo más segura y saludable posible.
Sea paciente y cortés, ya que estamos siguiendo todas las instrucciones establecidas para las misas diarias y dominicales. Podemos hacer ajustes a estas pautas después de unos días una vez que veamos cómo están funcionando.
A) INFORMACIÓN GENERAL La asistencia a las misas estará limitada para seguir las
órdenes de salud pública.
Si está enfermo o experimenta algún síntoma de enfermedad, por favor quédese en casa.
Aquellos en alto riesgo o con condiciones preexistentes se les recomienda quedarse en casa durante esta fase de reapertura. Recuerde, no se requiere que asista a misa.
La dispensa de no asistir a misa dominical sigue vigente hasta nuevo aviso.
Incluso con las mejores prácticas de salud y mayores esfuerzos para limpiar la Iglesia, existe el riesgo de contagio cada vez que una persona ingresa a un espacio público.
Tenga en cuenta que continuaremos transmitiendo nuestra misa dominical a través de Facebook y YouTube.
Por ahora, las Misas se limitarán al 25% de su capacidad. Los asientos son limitados y será por orden de llegada.
La capilla está cerrada hasta nuevo aviso.
B) ANTES DE SALIR DE CASA Lave y desinfecte sus manos.
Traiga una cubierta para la cara, como una máscara, bufanda o pañuelo que pueda cubrir su nariz y su boca. Los niños mayores también necesitarán uno.
Le recomendamos que traiga su propia solución desinfectante para limpiar sus manos antes de la comunión.
C) AL LLEGAR A LA IGLESIA
Llegue a la Iglesia no más de 30 minutos antes de la misa.
Espere en la fila en frente de la entrada principal de la Iglesia practicando el distanciamiento social y con su máscara puesta.
Cada familia será dirigida por empleados de la parroquia para ingresar al edificio a través de las puertas principales del centro. No se utilizarán otras puertas para entrar a la Iglesia.
Los asientos son limitados; una vez que hayamos alcanzado nuestra capacidad permitida, se cerrarán las puertas.

F) AL SALIR DE MISA
Después de la bendición final, los feligreses deben permanecer en sus asientos.
Después de que el clero haya salido del santuario, los ujieres les indicará que salgan por sección de atrás hacia adelante para salir inmediatamente del santuario y del edificio.
No se puede quedar orando o socializando. Le pedimos encarecidamente que salga lo antes posible para permitir que el PERSONAL limpie y desinfecte la iglesia para la próxima Misa.
Por favor no se quede conversando con sus amigos, sino diríjase directamente a su vehículo y salga del estacionamiento.
