This will leave t he building empty with the space needing to be filled. Currently t here are two propos als for the space. In one  proposal, the building will be used for housing for the Computer Engineering Computer Science department and, in the other it will be used as a student building. The administration wants student input on the matter, so this will be the perfect time to speak up and let your voice be heard! On November 3rd at 2 pm administration is inviting all students to hear what is happening and to voice their option. This session will be held in Vo gt 314. The proposal for the student building mentions that there will space for a student café and commons area, student organization offices, an extended-hour study area, student meeting rooms, reading room, instruc- tional facilities, rooms to meet with prospective stu- dents and their families , co-op and graduate interview rooms, advising center, copy center, Freshman Engi- neering Program Offices. The proposal for the CECS building mentions space for the CECS office, student services, and the freshman engineering course. I highly encourage students to attend this meeting. Come out and let your voice be heard!!  Kersey Happenings 2005 obel Prize Exibit The Kersey Library has set up an exhibit “2005  Nobel Prize Winners in Chemistry” & Physics” on the first floor lobby area. It will stay open till December 15, 2005. The exhibit includes their  pictures, materials on the topics of their research for which they were awarded the prize. Database Training Ruth Woolfish from IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) will be at Kersey Library on Friday November 18, 2005 to provide training on IEL Explore Database. This powerful full-text resource includes IEEE Journals, Conference Proceedings, and IEEE Standards. The database covers all fields of engi- neering and r elated disciplines including acoustics, optics, transportation, aerospace science, physics, in- formation systems, remote sensing, business, bioengi- neering, biomedicine, and medical applications of en- gineering and technology . The training will be at 11:00 a m in the Computer Lab/ Classroom on the 2nd floor of the Kersey Library. Advance registration is required. Deadline is Novem-  ber 15, 2005.
