Christendom is composed of those nations of earth whichclaim to be Christian, Judaism finds its counterpartinChristendom. God dealt with that nation exclusivelyfor more than nineteen centuries and used it to fore-shadow conditions and experiences coming to Christen-dom. Prophecy is history written prior to the happening01 the events. Prophecy of the Old Testament has atwofold :fulfillment: (1) Toa limited extent upon thenation of Israel j and C2) in a . wider scope on Christen-dom. 'I'hrough his prophets Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zepha-niah, and others, God forewarned Israel of impendingdisaster, at the same time naming a remedy that would",ert such disaster. The fierce hordes of the north coun-try. the Chaldeans, pictured the radical element ofChristendom. Wa.miDg and remedy a.pply now., Israel was ruled by three dominant elements ; viz., thekiDg and his household, constituting the professionalpoliticians; the princes, nobles and Pharisees, which em-braced the wealthy, prominent and influential citizens;and the rabbis, scribes and priests, forming the clergy ofthat time.In the afl'airs of all nations there are usually threeelements tlmt work either separately or conjunctively tocontrol and rule the people. These are professional.politicians, financial princes and ecclesiastical rulers.InIsrael' s time these three elements combined againstthe common people, "ere guilty of oppression and extor-tion, corresponding with present profiteering. Becausethe clergy in the close cfIsrael's experience joined withthis unrighteous class, the Lord denounced them fortheir oppression and designated them as 'the children ofthe devil'.-.John 8: 4.4.The clergy shaped the religious course of the peopleof Israel. They begun their career with good intentions, but yielding to selfish desires and flattery, they becamelevers of power, desiring and accepting the honor andplaudits of men, and degenerated into an unfaithful classof servants and led the people into idolatry. Time andagain Jehovah warned these leaders and showed themhis remedy whereby they could avoid great punishmentand be restored to his favor. They ignored the divineremedy and the result was their overthrow. This proph-ecyw,a.5 fulfilled U :>O ll Israel and is certain of fulfillmentupont'mistendom unless the divine warning is heeded.Every sober-minded peT50n should stop and consider andprofit by the events of the past.Christ Jesus organ ized the church through his apos-tles. the ultra-rich and influential to prominent seats in thesynagogues, and at different stages in the world's historyhave acted jointly in each other's interest. In Israel'stime the greatest responsibility rested upon these threeclasses. The sarne th.iDg is true today. This powerfulunholy trinity has many instruments it uses, ouch assuborganiza.tioDS and a. subsidized, untruthful and dis-honest press. The whole scheme is managed by onemaster mind, Satan, whose purpose ever has been and isnow to dominate and control the people of earth. 'I'heproof of this point we particularly set forth inPart II.In the church systems, Catholic and Protestant. thereare many honest, sincere and lovable people, who becauseof the influence of the unholy trinity are prevented froma full service and devotion to the Lord. Jesus particu-larly manifested his love for the meek and oppressed andso he still manifests his deep interest in the same class.Jeremiah's prophecy is especially applicable to I6rae1and to Christendom, and the parallelism is marked dis-.tinc~y;. and for tlUs reason this great prophecy has a8~clal mterest now' to all order-loving people who calmlyVlew the present stress of humanity. The prophet Jeremiah typified the Christ. In someinstances the prophet represented Jesus alone while inother instances he typined some specially fa,or;d servantof the Lord, and at other times represented a collective .number of the members of the body of Christ. .Where the words Israel and Judah are used by thaprophet Jeremiah Israel represents the Roman Catholichierarchy, while Judah represents the Protestant ecelesi-astical systems. Where the word Judah alone is used inreferring to the Jews the reference in antitype is to theentire gystem of churchianity, including the Papal andProtestant systems, together with their subordinate or-ganizations such as Knights of Columbus, Y. M. C. A., etc.Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, was ruler over Char.dea, and other provinces lying north of Palestine. Thesepeople of the north foreshadowed or represented the com-mon people of the present social order, From ehapters1,to 49 of the. prophecy of Jeremiah the king of Babylonplcture.d particularly ~ols~evism, which exercises a greatgoverninr; 0" controlling influence over the radical ele-rnents of Society at this time. 'The Gorden Age for Septem ber 29, 1920 707the word "world" is not meant earth, but the order ofsociety during :1 given or stated period of time. Thedisciples were informed that when the period of the endof the world was reached there wouldbe "upon earth dis-tress of nations with perplexity, ... men's hearts fa.ilingthem for fear [of what they see] coming upon the earth" ;that "nation" [would] rise against nation and kingdomagaiJ;tst kingdom" in a great world-war which would befollowed by other distressing conditions. This propheticstatement of Jesus began to have its fulfillment in 1914with the coming of the world war, which war God hadforetold through the mouth of his prophets many cen-turies before. (Joel 3: 9 - 14; ~Iatthe\V 24: 17; Luke 21:2. The world war has greatly weakened the nations. All the great industries were employed to win the war,Wages "ere high while the war progressed. Suddenly'the war ended, but the cost of lh'ing does not decreasewith the end of war and the workers insist on a . liv-ing wage. Profiteering has influenced the ~pirit cf dis-content. Injustice and unrighteousness have 50 long prerailed that the mass of mankind have lost faith in theclergy aud their allies, and the spreading of discontentgoes on at 2. rapid pace. The burden of the commonpeople increases, while ecclesiasticism and Bi3" Businessmise more money, hoping to strengthen their position.

THE REAL CAt:SEItwill be conceded I> y every one that had all classes ofpeople dealt justly w Ith each other, had their actionsbeeu prompted by love and unselfishness, had they putinto operation the golden rule, there would have beenDO world war, there would be no widespread discontentor threatened troubles following the war. For nearlyeignteen ccuturies the clergy have posed as the mouth-pieces of the Lord on earth, claiming to be his followersand the teachers of his Word. Dut it is fact tha.t needsno proof that a " a . dC.S5 they have failed in their mission.~od foreknew and foretold the exact condition we nowsee on the earth. Therefore we should expect to findthat he also foretold the cause for such conditions. Thefads disclose that the greater blame lies at the door ofthe clergy c ! D , , , S , including the Catholic hierarchy and itsProtestant allies; that they have not only gone wrongthemselves but have led the people into forbidden paths, and that the divine judgment is a. t hand unless the. ilivi~I,emedy is heeded.Jesus commissioned his followers to preach the gladtidings of his coming [,ingJam and to announce that theblessing of the world would begin with its establish-ment; and until then the duty devolving UP0U all hi3true f')ll~I',.."r~ was arid is to keep themselves separatefrom the. ....w,)dfl and from all eLtang;li.!lg alliances withpolitics or' oth=r thinI;" of the world. THE PROOFItis but necessary to call attention to the well-knownand indisputable facts that have de ...eloped in recentyears to establish beyond question the truthfulness ofe\'~ overt act charged in the indictment. We considerthe main charge of the indictment and .the overt actsin the order named.(1) The forsaking of the Woru of God and the estab-lishment of man-made creeds instead :. Nint\t~Ii centuries aco Jehovah M,zan the develop-ment of the "'-'seed of pr~mise", Jesus thc Head and thechurch~is bod". J~SU'l referred to the members of hisbody as 'brancill's of the true vine', (John 1,5: 1. 2)The church began its deYel"pment in purity of practiceand in action. Of it .Ichovah said: "1 planted thee anoble vine, wholly a ri;ht sced ; how then art thou turned

into degenerate plant of & strange vine ~rine of thearth] unto me ?"-Jeremian 2: 21; Revelatl~n 14: 1~Jehovah gave to the church nominal, parhcularlYltsleaders, the greatest commission ever held by any earthlycreature, vis.: '1'0 preach the glad tidings_of great joof Christ's coming kingdom through which all the families of the earth shall be blessed. (Isaiah 61: 1 - 3; Luk9: 60; 1 Corinthians 1: 21; 9: 16) What a wonderfuand blessed opportunity to carry to a sad and sin-eursedworld the very message of comfort all needed I To devate from that message, or to teach instead man-madedoctrines amounts not only to a falling awar but to postive disloyalty to the Lord. Christians are plainly told"Love not the world [honor, plaudits, and the things thathe world can confer] neither the things in the world""Be not confonned to this world," but ''keep [yourselves]unapotted from the world".-l John 2: 15; Romans 12; James 1:27. .The early church grew rapidly and at first there wano distinction between the members, such as clergy anlaity. The early history of the church nominal is full obeautiful stories of self-sacrifice and loving service. BuSatan was active in planting 'his seed' among the loyaones; prosperity and wealth came, and with them cammen ambitious to be Ieaders=-Tovera of. the world'Office seekers crept in, obtained control and soon substtuted formalism for simplicity of worship, Theclogi(;acontentions took possession of the church organimtionand the religion of Jcsus Chri~t became a politicalsociety. The church nominal surrendered to the Emperorof Rome, Constantine, who notwithstanding he put tdeath his own sister, his son and his wife, was fuwnedupon by the ambitious clergy and was chosen as thchampion of the church. Christ and him crucified th~became and still is a reproach to the self-seeking onesThe state became so-called "Christian" and the churchbecame imperialistic, True Christianity in it.s organization was supplanted by politicians and bishops and fhdivinely given commission \I":1S cast aside. The selfishambitions clerg-y paganized and irnpcrializcd the religionof Jesus, and their disloyal course caused vast numbersto accept the new norni~al Christianity, anti thus trueChristianity was turned into & political religion. The Golden Age fo r September 29, 1920 709when there was a great Protestant reformation, but alu, today the so-called "Protestant" church is a system with-out the protest. 'I'he God-dishonoring doctrine of eter-nal tormcnt originated by Satan and first taught by thePapacy is eagerly taken up and proclaimed to the peopleby many Protestant clergy who know they arc teaching& falsehood, a defamation of God's character. In all thetheological colleges the doctrines of higher criticism andevolution are substituted for the message of the Lord,hi.;; sacrifice and his kingdom. Instead of keeping them-selves unspotted and separate from the world the largerpercentage ofthe clergy-Catholic and Protestant-seekan alliance with the professional politicia.Il! aad thefinancial gianh who can confer wealth and honor uponthem. Instead of humbly serving and worshipping God,they serve the worldly minded, and set up idols o f gold, earthly power, and influence which they freely worship. The proof of the first overt act charged in the indictmentis common knowledge and fully apparent to all.SI;.t!ond: Spiritual fornication, the second overt act'charged, means illieit relationship between the churchand the state,The true church of Christ is spoken of in the symboliclanguage of the Bible as a. "pure virgin", while the apos-tate church system-one that has forsaken God-is sym-bolized by an impure woman and in the Scriptures des-ignated as a "whore" or "harlot", Papacy being thefirst to forsake God and ally herself with the politicalpowers is designated as "the mother of harlots, andabominations of the earth". (Revelation 17: 5) TheBiblical language clearly implies that the church nomi-

nal is ;;ui1t.y of illieit conduct. With whom1 Jesusanswers, ",nth the kings," political ruling classes, andthe "merchants", the financial powers."for all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrathof her fornication, and the kings of the earth have com-mittcd fornication with her, and the merchants of theearth are waxed rich through the abundance of her deli-cacics." (Revelation 18: 3) The clergy-Catholic andProtcstant-vopenly seek an alliance with prominent menof the world. either political or financial, thus commit-ting spiritual fornication. The prominent men are insyruboltc language of the Bible designated as "a greentree". [See Psalm 3.: 35) Itis an indisputable fact, well known for centuries, but more particularly madema.g,l!est in modem times, that whenever & person risesto prbtF.ieence in a community, either & politician, mer-chant or other wealthy man. the clergymen and theirchief parishioners conspire to!;ether to induce such prom-inent person to become a member of their church, regard-less of whether such prominent person claims to belie,"eon acd lo\e t~ Lord or not. selfish passions. In modem times they haTe adoptedworldly methods in their work. Organizations such uthe Knights of Columbus, Y. ll. C. A., etc., are the chil-dren or offspring of the church systems. They use theBible in a distorted attempt to show the propriety ofcontrolling the political affairs of this world through thechurch and their offspring organizations. They l'1ll1after the political lords and professional politicia.ns andbrazenly offer the chu: rch systems as Bl1 added means tocontrol the people. The church system's methods are sovery brazen in her attempt to ally herself with unholyearthly interests that the Lord says to her: "Thou hasta whore's forehead and refusest to be ashamed". (Jere-miah 3: 3) And so abominable is the conduct of thechurch system, her clergy and her children in seeking thecompanionship of the professiona.l politician aad thefinancial powers that the Lord liken! her to a certainwild beast who at the time of her regular heat teeksbeastly gratification from anyone who w11laccommodateher, saying to her, "How canst' thou say I am not pol-l uted, I have not gone after Baalim? All they that Seekher will not weary themselves [to locate her); in hermonth they shall find her."-Jeremialt 2: 23, 24.Third: The third overt act charged is that of respes-sibility for the great wars that have afflicted the peopleaof earth and particularly the world war which began in1914 at the end of the Gentile Times. And for thiscause the Lord ~ays to them: "On thy skirts is foUDdthe blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I [JchOTah]

ha."c not found it by secret search but upon all these".-Jremiah 2: 34.Whether or not it is right for a nat ion to engage inwar need not be here considered, 'rho sole question hereis, What is the propel' position for the church. to take. From God's viewpoint the church must stand for thing!spiritual as distinguished from worldly governments,The commission to the followers of Jesus nowhere com-mands them to go to war. bnt e::caetly the contrary courseis prescribed. Jesus said: "M y kingdom is not of thisworld: ... [if it were] thee would my servants fight".When the mob assaulted him he said he could call fortwelve legions of angels to fight his battle, but he declinedto resort to force. He even forbade his disciples to use

weapons of defense. The church' is his body, the mem-bers of which are called to follow in his f"otstepa. (1Peter 2: 21) If worldly nations want to fight that iltheir business, The followers of Jeslls to be faithfulmust obey his expressed will and refrain from sheddingblood.-:3 Corinthians 10: 3, ~.But the majoT'ity ot the clergy ha~e abandoned thewill ( " o f the Lord and set 1 lp their own 'rill. OnMarch 1':', 1918, a little class of Christ.ians had quietlyassembled in Southern California to study the Bible withtheir textbook, "The Finished Mystery". The UnitedStates District Attorney, officer of the Department ofJustice, knew of their meeting place. He sent four mento attend the Bible class. These men, Messrs. Atwood,Boden, Mussel, and Meeker, sat through the study and

at the conclusion manifested interest in the Dible. Theythen approached Mrs. Emma Martin, the widow of awf'll-known doctor, and Messrs. Sonnenberg, Hamm andStevens, students and members of this Bible class, andinduced them to let them have a copy or copies of "TheFinished 1fystery",A few days later these Christians were arrested andthe above named men appeared in court as the only wit-nesses against them, testifying that they went to the Bibleelass at the direction of the District Attorney to get evi-dence against these harmless people. Seeing then that the great trouble upon the nationsis by divine permission would it be proper to advocateviolence or to encourage revolution and anarchy? WI!answer, No. When the revolution a on should theChristian take part in it? A thousand times, No. TheIaet that God permits the great trouble is no reason fororder-loving ones to engage in it. The elements ofhumanity enguging in violent demonstrations arenoithose who have the spirit of Christ. Our advice t : o allChristians is to adhere strictly to their divine commis-sion to tell the people of God's great plan. for blessillgmankind. Therefore to the order-loving people, to th9meek, in fact to aU we would advise the course pointedout by the Lord's prophet, viz., "Before the decree bringforth, before the day pass as the chalf, befor& the fierceangror of the Lord come upon you, before the day of theLord's anger come upon you: seek ye the Lord, all y8 'meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment;seek righteousness, seek meekness: it mlly be ye shall behid in the day of the Lord's :mger."-Zephaniah 2: 2,:t
