For some time even in Italy there has been a growing tendency to rely upon the skilled handsof a Wedding Planner to organize one’s wedding. I think the time is right to spend a fewwords on this social phenomenon, brilliantly outlined in some Hollywood films. What are thereasons behind the decision to turn to a professional? Essentially three. First: because it is atime investment that gives women, in particular those who work, the possibility to resort toan expert of the field. The second reason, that remains the main one, is the need to not giveup rituals and the concerted nature of celebrations. Finally, an interesting aspect that I havediscovered with my editorial staff is the management of mixed marriages by WeddingPlanners specialized in this context, an indication of integration but also of the difficulties inorganizing the many different ceremonies that take place in our country. A Wedding Designerhas the ability of packaging a made to measure wedding after having set the type ofmarriage (religious, civil, mixed, first or second marriage), the location in which it will takeplace and the budget. He knows how to “cut and sew”, lighten the moments of tension, justlike a good architect to which we entrust the restructuring of the house in which we will liveas a couple, and interpret the needs and expectations of both. In a single word he should beable to “mediate” like a skilled diplomat and psychotherapist! In the past the organisationalcapacity was normally delegated to the female member of the couple supported by selectedadvisers chosen among family or friends. Today, women are gratified professionally andeconomically and can afford the presence of a “director” capable of freeing them from all thepractical and organisational tasks that require time! Time is already the most valuableresource of our life… women do not always want to scramble between duties and dreamsbut want to enjoy themselves and be the protagonists of their wedding date withoutaccumulating the stress of the preparations. Of course, not all women can afford the aid ofa Wedding Planner, and the one who gives up is a woman full of energy and creativeresources. So, we wish every woman her dream wedding, and may this Book Moda Sposabe a precious help in organizing such an unforgettable event of her life.

WEDDING PLANNER TIME
di Nicoletta Moretti
Labbra rosse su incarnato roseo:
sono i dettami della nuova
stagione, interpretati al meglio da
Givenchy. Infatti, se ombretti,
cipria e fondotinta presentano
delicate sfumature tutte giocate
sui toni pastello, la bocca deve
essere enfatizzata dal
rossetto della linea “Rouge
Interdit” nel colore “Island
Hibiscus”. Chi preferisce il
gloss, ideale per le
giovanissime, ma con-
sigliabile anche a chi ha
qualche anno in più proprio
perché ringiovanisce, può
attingere alla vastissima
gamma dei “Gloss Interdit”.
Per una pelle perfetta,
“Matissime”, che, come dice
il suo nome, lascia
l’epidermide opaca, eli-
minando le antiestetiche
zone lucide. Da
sottolineare, infine, che il
packaging di questa
maison è così bello che
trasforma questi cosmetici
in oggetti regalo.

Scarlet red lipstick, rosy foundation andeye-shadows
Red lips for a rosy carnation: these are the season’s
fashion trends interpreted in the best way byGivenchy. Indeed, if eye shadows, powder and
foundation flaunt delicate pastel tones, the lips have to
be enhanced by the lipstick from the “Rouge Interdit”
line in the “Island Hibiscus” tone. Someone prefers the
lip gloss, which is ideal for the youngsters, but perfect
also for the elders just because it rejuvenates. “Gloss
Interdit” offers a wide range. For a perfect carnation,
“Matissime”, which, as explained by its name, makes
the skin matt and eliminates unaesthetic shiny areas.
Finally, we underline that this maison’s packaging is
so beautiful that transforms these make-ups into gifts.

The groom steals the limelight on Chanel’s catwalk. ThisFrench fashion house distinguished this season’s collectionwith splashes of silver and gold and didn’t reserve themexclusively for the bride. They offered them to the groomtoo with splendidly luminous suits and even the ties.Though not every groom will have the courage to wearthem, the future bride will be delighted to and will feelspecial and unique.

Often when you think of honeymoon destinations you tend to think of far away exotic locationsforgetting that there are just as interesting places much nearer home. One of these is Malta, just 93kilometres from Sicily and its position in the middle of the Mediterranean means it is easilyaccessible from all over Europe. Air Malta has about 200 flights a week and, in 2010, introducedtwo new routes from Italy, one from Genoa and one from Turin. This national airline, which hascelebrated 35 years since its first flight, has a modern fleet of Airbuses and carries an average of2.1 million passengers per year. So it is even easier to organise a holiday on this island, so rich inhistory and art, as well as its surprisingly beautiful views and favourably, year round mild climate. The capital, La Valletta, is surrounded by imposing bastions which have protected it for centuriesfrom attacks from the sea and from which splendid views can be enjoyed today. In the Co-Cathedral of Saint John is a painting which alone is worth the trip: “The Beheading of St. John theBaptist” by Caravaggio, the only worked to be signed by him and the biggest he ever painted. Theold capital of the island was, however, Mdina, which still retains its medieval atmosphere todaywith its narrow streets and ancient churches. There are also even older and just as fascinatingmegalithic temples to be visited though they are less well known than Stonehenge, and then thereare the mysterious and haunting catacombs. Malta is not just one island but is one of a groupwhich includes, apart from two uninhabited isles, Gozo and Comino which are particularly famousfor their splendid and unforgettable sea views, such as the famous “blue window”.
