On Tuesday we will tryagain, we are just very happy thatwe are still in the competition.It was more about match racing thanpicking the shifts, we were close andwe knew we had to protect the righthand side. It’s not possible to make theright calls every day, this is a gameof mistakes and when you manage tosurvive from your mistakes you getstronger. I think Desafio Espanol hasglued as a team and got stronger.All our results have come from closeraces. We have survived the good andthe bad days and that is the sport.We have a great team and a greatatmosphere, we are doing a great job.

They’ve beenquietly building up and clearly gettinga lot stronger and out sailed us in manyareas on the racecourse. They’ve hadgreat speed upwind, enough speeddownwind, started well, got the first windshifts, made good tactical calls and donea fantastic job so well done to LunaRossa, a well deserved win. WhenI look back we didn’t have any glaringweaknesses, or we would have donesomething about it. We did everythingwe could do, I thank my team sincerelyas they have worked incredibly hardand they are all very disappointed.Nobody did a bad job on our team.

Francesco de Angelis,SkipperLuna Rossa ChallengeThe racing was much harder than thescore reflects, we had a gates to gothrough with the two round robins anda semi-final so we have been takingit step by step, working to the planon improving the boat and ourselves.The game itself is complicated, eachteam follows its own path and is full ofsmart, talented people. You have to beclear of what steps to take and takethem at your own speed. A team likeBMW Oracle are so strong that whenyou make one little mistake, they jumpall over you. We saw that in the secondrace of the series and importantly wehave learnt our lesson. No matter howbig or small the lead, we kept our focusand finished the job off.
