The man, who had Kallman’s syndrome, also had a diagnosis of attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder. He was on testosterone and a psychostimulant compound. He was referred for re-evaluation of psychiatric symptoms after developing acute paranoid psychosis. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia of the paranoid type. He started receiving risperidone 3mg daily [route not stated]. Due to metabolic side effects [duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcome not stated], this was later replaced with aripiprazole. Author comment: "[R]isperidone was prescribed at a daily dose of 3mg but, because of unwanted metabolic side effects and insufficient effect on negative symptoms, this was later replaced by 15mg aripiprazole per day."
