• Cos’è - L’equity crowdfunding è un’evoluzione del crowdfundingtradizionale (raccolta di fondi online), che permette a una società di incassare finanziamenti online. Gli investitori che contribuiscono alla raccolta ottengono un titolo di partecipazione all’azienda, accedendo a tutti i diritti patrimoniali e amministrativi che ne conseguono.

• Come funziona - Un’azienda si presenta online sulle piattaforme apposite, spiega i suoi obiettivi e fissa il target di raccolta che dovrà essere raggiunto entro la fine della campagna. In caso di buon esito l’impresa incassa gli investimenti e procede con il suo business plan, anche se non ci sono - ovviamente - garanzie sul suo successo aziendale. In caso di mancato raggiungimento del target, gli investimenti non vengono finalizzati e il donatore non perde nulla.

• I vantaggi - Dal punto di vista delle imprese, il vantaggio è di aprirsi un sistema di finanziamento innovativo e “democratico”, nel senso che l’esito della raccolta dipende dalla valutazione sulla qualità del proprio business plan (e non solo da fattori collaterali come il network di conoscenze o zona di provenienza). Dal punto di vista degli investitori, il capitale investito in start-up innovative può essere portato in detrazione d’imposta (40%) per le persone fisiche e deduzione dal reddito imponibile per le persone giuridiche (40%)

• I controlli - La Consob vigila sulle piattaforme di raccolta fondi le quali validano le informazioni pubblicate dalle aziende.
