SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure that the towbar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation.

For safety, all work involving towbar installation (incl. electrical components) must be undertaken by skilled technicians.

Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer’s spares and fitted by qualified staff.

It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to towing assembly.

The towball must be kept clean and lubrificated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular intervalls. If the towball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the towball must be replaced with a new one.

After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

• For series 3 335i and 335d order kit 06026/3.

• Remove any mastic from contact points and paint with anti-rust paint. The necessary holes are already existing.

• Remove bumper (Remove light clusters, 11 screws on lower edge of skirt, 3 screws in each wheelarch, 1 tip screw at each side, 2 screws beneath plastic caps on bumper shut panel, On each tip carefully pull edge outwards to release from clips between bumper and body (Note: Care is required as the bumper clips are prone to breaking/distorting), disconnect reversing sensors if fitted. Remove un-dertray.

• Temporarily lower exhaust.• Remove the bumper beam.• Just for version 335i and 335D: remove the two supports of the muffler from the

reinforcement bar and then remove also the central support of the bumper.• Cut the undertray as showed.• Locate cross bar A to the rear wall referring to original screws 1 superimposing on

the cross bar the reinforcement bar and tighten everything with original nuts.• Just for version 320I: in case the central support of the muffler interferes with the

tow bar bend over a little to the engine.• Tighten all bolts and nuts as per torque settings.• Connect the wirings to the socket.• Cut the lower rear edge of bumper as showed.• Refit the exhaust, bumper and the lights.• Just for version 335i and 335D: fit the Kit 06026/3 referring to holes 3, insert the

screws and tighten. Couple the exhaust to the new supports and then fit the bumper using the screws in position.
