Tipica villa toscana di metà seicento, fu dimora dell’illustre poeta aretino Antonio Guadagnoli, ora interamente ristrutturata e trasformata in Relais di campagna, fa parte della prestigiosa catena Relais & Châteaux con cui condivide la filosofia dell’arte dell’accoglienza. Al ristorante, in cucina, al ricevimento offriamo ogni giorno la nostra disponibilità e le nostre specialità, perfezionandole di continuo per migliorarne la qualità... l’arte dei dettagli fa la differenza.

The typical Tuscan villa which dates back to the 17th century was the home of the famous poet Antonio Guadagnoli. Now completely restored and transformed into a countryside Relais, it is part of the prestigious chain Relais & Châteaux, which exuberates the art of hospitality. In the restaurant, in the kitchen, at the reception, dedicated to taking care of the needs of our guests ,we are proud to offer everyday our availability and our specialties, improving them continuously. The art of refining quality is achieved by caring about details that make a difference.


Il soggiorno ideale per chi ama la campagna in ogni suo aspetto. Un’antica serenità caratterizza l’atmosfera del Relais. Le venti camere sono elegantemente arredate, ognuna con colori e decori diversi, che rispecchiano lo stile di raffinata semplicità tipico delle più importanti case toscane. Alcune sono situate nella antica Villa, altre adiacenti la Cappella, altre ancora nel casolare; in comune hanno la vista sul tipico paesaggio della ridente campagna cortonese. Dispongono di ogni moderno comfort.

An ideal setting for those who love the beauty of the countryside, the atmosphere of the Relais is quaint with characteristic old-fashioned Tuscan charm. The twenty rooms are elegantly furnished-each unique in color and décor and reflecting the classic, refined style of important Tuscan homes. A few rooms are in the antique villa, some attached to the villa’s chapel and others in the cottage. All share the view of the magical landscape of the Cortonese countryside and are fully furbished with every modern comfort.

Il ristorante è posto su due piani con una bella veranda in vetro e ferro battuto, davanti la terrazza e sullo sfondo l’antica pescaia. La cucina è curata personalmente da Silvia che con l’aiuto dell’executive Chef Richard Titi è riuscita a tradurre nel linguaggio di questo splendido paesaggio toscano nuove tentazioni, nuovi accostamenti e la riscoperta dei sapori autentici: una cucina solare accompagnata da grandi vini.

The restaurant is on two floors with a glass and wrought-iron conservatory, overlooking the outside dining terrace with its ancient fishpond and rose-clad pergola. The cooking, which is personally supervised by Silvia, with the help of the head Chef Richard Titi, has succeeded in creating new temptations, using original and traditional recipes to create a marvelous cuisine accompanied by great wines.

L’Azienda agricola Baracchi è situata adiacente al Relais. Riccardo ha fortemente voluto continuare le tradizioni della famiglia che coltivava la vite e produceva vino da sempre, dandole ora, un carattere moderno e di grande qualità. I vini sono: Ardito, un blend di Syrah e Cabernet che insieme ai vini tradizionali lasciati in purezza come lo Smeriglio Sangiovese, Smeriglio Merlot e Smeriglio Syrah lasciano spazio a vini unici come Astore un trebbiano vinificato con le sue bucce e ancora il particolarissimo metodo classico da Sangiovese. Un tributo alla terra di Cortona e al piacere del buon bere. The Baracchi estate is located on the beautiful slopes of Cortona, inside the property of the Relais.Riccardo strongly desired to continue the family tradition of grape growing and wine-making, which began on the 1860, adding now a modern and an high quality character. The wines are: Ardito, a blend of Syrah and Cabernet, that, together with traditional varieties like Smeriglio Sangiovese , Smeriglio Syrah, and Smeriglio Merlot, open the stage for two unique and special wines: Astore, 100 % trebbiano with maceration on its own skins and the astonishingly unique Metodo Classico from Sangiovese. A tribute to the land of Cortona and to the pleasure of good wine.

“Il Falconiere” è situato in collina, sullo sfondo si può vedere da una parte Cortona, antica città etrusca da cui dista non più di 3 chilometri e dall’altra la Valdichiana. Si trova in una posizione geografica estremamente privilegiata per chiunque voglia raggiungere brevemente i centri d’arte più famosi dell’Italia centrale. In mezz’ora d’auto è possibile raggiungere Arezzo, Perugia o Siena e poco più a nord Firenze, oppure Assisi più a sud. Raggiungere “Il Falconiere” dalle principali città italiane o dagli aeroporti più importanti è poi molto semplice. Infatti, percorrendo l’autostrada A1 nel tratto Roma-Firenze è sufficiente uscire al casello Valdichiana, proseguire in direzione Perugia e dopo pochi chilometri prendere lo svincolo per Cortona, qualche minuto e siete arrivati.

“Il Falconiere” is situated in a quiet, elevated, rural location amid vineyards and olive groves. It enjoys enviable views of the Val di Chiana to the west, and Cortona, the ancient Etruscan hill town just three kilometers to the south. The Relais is ideally located for short trips to some of the most famous art cities of central Italy, such as Arezzo, Perugia, Siena, Florence and Assisi, all within in an hour’s drive away. “Il Falconiere” is easy accessible by car form the major Italian cities and airports. Just take the Valdichiana exit from the A1 Autostrada between Rome and Florence, head towards Perugia and take the turnoff toward Cortona which will lead you directly to the hotel.
