SPECIFIC PARTS 1. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT
The product ECOSISM is a non-load-bearing shuttering kit based on preassembled panels of insulating materials and one storey height, applicable as formwork for plain and reinforced concrete walls cast in-situ, structural and non-structural. The shuttering panels are mechanically inserted into a 3D wire-rod reinforcement cage made of horizontal and vertical electrically welded steel rods of Ø2.2 mm (see Annex A1). The panels are 100 to 1200 mm wide (steps of 100 mm, the last step can be adjusted to 10 mm), 150 to 12000 mm high (steps of 150 mm, the last step can be adjusted to 50 mm), as detailed in Annex A2. The thickness of the outer shuttering panels ranges from 40 to 250 mm whereas the one of the inner shuttering panels ranges from 40 to 100 mm. The concrete infill structural pattern is of continuous type and it can be produced in the thickness range from 80 to 350 mm. Therefore, the total thickness of the shuttering can vary from 170 to 520 mm according to the dimensions of the wire spacers and/or the insulating panels (see Annex A3/1-A3/2). Shuttering panels made of the following basic insulating materials are adopted (as specified in Annex A4):
• Expanded-Polystyrene Syntherized (EPS) • Extruded-Polystyrene Syntherized (XPS) • Mineral wool (MW) • Wood wool (WW) • Phenolic foam (PF) • Factory made rigid polyurethane foam (PU)
The vertical edges of each panel are flat. Prior to pouring concrete, adjacent units are wired together, vertically plumbed and propped on one side. The props are kept in place until the concrete has reached the initial design strength. No special elements are used for making joints, window and door openings, which are obtained by inserting (or not) shuttering elements into the 3D steel cage (see Annexes A5-A6-A7). Finally, after concrete has cured, the metal wire rods inside the openings, doors and windows, shall be removed. Renderings, coatings and plasters are not part of this ETA. 2. SPECIFICATION OF THE INTENDED USE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ETAG 009 USED AS
EUROPEAN ASSESSMENT DOCUMENT (hereinafter EAD)
The product ECOSISM is intended to be used as formwork for plain and reinforced concrete walls cast in-situ, load-bearing or non-load-bearing , internal and external, above or below ground, including those which are subject to fire regulation. The load-bearing concrete walls obtained with the kit are not covered by this ETA and they are subject to the applicable national regulation, under the direct responsibility of the designer. Concerning product packaging, transport and storage it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to undertake the appropriate measures and to advise his clients on the transport and storage, as he considers necessary in order to reach the declared performances. The information about installation is provided with the technical documentation from the Manufacturer and it is assumed that the product will be installed according to it or (in absence of such instructions) according to the usual practice of the building professionals. The performances assessed in this European Technical Assessment, according to the applicable EAD, are based on an assumed intended working life of at least 50 years, provided that the conditions for the installation, packaging, transport, storage, installation as well as appropriate use, maintenance and repair are met. The indications given on the working life cannot be interpreted as a guarantee given by the manufacturer, but are to be regarded only as a means for choosing the right products in relation to the expected economically reasonable working life of the works.

A European reference fire scenario has not been laid down for façade. In some Member States, the classification
of external wall obtained with the kit ECOSISM according to Standard EN 13501-1 might not be sufficient for the
use in façades. An additional assessment of the system according to the National provisions (i.e. based on a
large-scale test) might be necessary to comply with specific Member State Regulations, until the existing
European classification system has been completed.
