Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (I.N.F.N.) intends to offer a larger number of research infrastructures to the European nuclear physics community within the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission. In particular, both Nuclear Physics based National Laboratories (property of I.N.F.N.)
“Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro” - L.N.L. - located in Legnaro (Padova) www.lnl.infn.it
“Laboratori Nazionali del Sud” - L.N.S. - located in Catania www.lns.infn.it
will be merged in a single Access facility providing complementary instrumentation for experiments in a wider range of research fields.

2.5 MV AN2000 Van de Graaff accelerator 7.0 MV CN Van de Graaf accelerator 15 MV SMP Tandem accelerator 8A MeV Tandem/PIAVE-ALPI accelerator complex 16 MV XTU-Tandem accelerator / ECR source + PIAVE injector coupled to the ALPI Linac 20A MeV Superconducting Cyclotron K800 80A MeV

The present research basic facilities operating at Nuclear Physics based Laboratories of I.N.F.N. and the corresponding set-up dates are the following:
2.5 MV AN2000 Van de Graaff (V.d.G.) accelerator with 2.5 MeV Proton Microbeam for Applied and Interdisciplinary physics; 7.0 MV CN V.d.G. accelerator delivering light-ion beams mainly for Applied Physics and Interdisciplinary and Biomedical Physics; 15 MV SMP Tandem accelerator providing heavy-ion beams with energies of a few A MeV mainly for Nuclear Physics experiments; Tandem/PIAVE-ALPI accelerator complex, hosting the 16 MV XTU-Tandem accelerator (1982) or (in alternative for ion beams with A>90) the ECR source + the superconducting RFQ injector PIAVE (2006) coupled to the ALPI superconducting Linac post-accelerator (1995), delivering heavy-ion beams with energies up to 20A MeV for Nuclear Physics studies at low energies; Superconducting Cyclotron K800 providing a wide variety of heavy-ion beams with energies up to 80A MeV mainly devoted to Nuclear Physics studies at intermediate energies; the facilities EXOTIC and EXCYT for the production of secondary exotic beams (8B, 8Li, 17F and 18Ne beams at the present) by using In-Flight and ISOL (Isotope Separation On-Line) methods for Nuclear Physics projects
