La norma fornisce i valori per la progettazione ed il controllo dell'illuminazione delle installazioni sportive in termini di illuminamento, uniformità, limitazione dell'abbagliamento e proprietà di colore delle sorgenti di luce. Tutti i requisiti sono intesi come requisiti minimi. La norma fornisce inoltre i metodi di misurazione di tali valori.
