Il Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano prende il via per la venticinquesima volta il 26 novembre alle 17 e proporrà la collaudata formula di 80 espositori, sette partner e tre stand gastronomici fino al 6 gennaio 2016. Sarà un’edizione ricca di novità, a partire dall’inaugurazione, con la parte-cipazione delle quattro bande musicali cittadine e di cori italiani e tedeschi, che per l’occasione festeggeranno con suoni e melodie tradizionali la manifestazione più attesa e più importante di Bolzano.

Ai piedi del grande albero di Natale tornerà il presepe in fedele versione rustica alpina: la Sacra Famiglia con bue e asinello all’in-terno di un’autentica stalla in miniatura, riprodotta con legno antico e tetto a scan-

dole, come i masi o le baite di montagna. Nelle casette che sono il simbolo del Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano saranno esposti come sempre oggetti di produzione strettamente locale: dalle statuette in legno alle decorazioni, dai dolci tradizionali agli accessori d’abbigliamento (pantofole e cappelli), alla cartoleria, ai piccoli strumenti musicali, alle candele decorate, alle palline di Natale decorate a mano.

ArtigianatoIl lavoro artigianale rappresenta il 30% dell’esposizione e nella parte sud di piazza Walther si potranno ammirare le opere dei soci della cooperativa Artigiani Atesini: ogget-ti della tradizione, sculture di legno, cartoline artistiche, decorazioni natalizie con cristalli, candele, pittura su pal-line di vetro, decorazioni per regali di Natale e molto altro ancora. GastronomiaAnche la gastronomia avrà un ruolo da protagonista con i suoi prodotti freschi nei diversi stand del mercatino: dal vin brulé alle frittelle di mele, dal succo di mele caldo allo Strudel. Mercatino dei BambiniPer gli ospiti più piccoli verrà riproposto il Mercatino dei Bambini in piazza della Mostra: qui oggetti adatti a loro, un ricco programma di animazione, un mini parco giochi e una piccola giostra saranno gli ingredienti per un sano divertimento. Non dimenticando la possibilità di salire sul trenino elettrico e sulla giostra in piazza Walther o di un’“avventura” in carrozza a cavalli o sul dorso di un pony per le vie del centro storico. Un Natale di Libri – incontra il tuo autore preferito al Mercatino di Natale di BolzanoIl Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano, il primo del genere per anzianità e afflusso, festeggerà il venticinquesimo com-pleanno proponendo una nuova iniziativa ovvero “Un Na-tale di Libri”, nell’essenzialità, la possibilità di incontrarsi con gli autori più amati, una grande festa di scrittori e di libri, una passerella di firme di successo e dei best seller dell’anno. La formula di “Un Natale di Libri” è molto semplice. Nel-le quattro settimane dell’Avvento, dal 26 novembre al 23 dicembre, saranno invitati a Bolzano dodici scrittori, otto italiani e quattro di lingua tedesca: presenteranno le loro ultime fatiche, fiancheggiati, perlopiù, dai direttori dei tre quotidiani locali. Gli incontri avverranno il giovedì, il venerdì e il sabato di ognuna delle quattro settimane

e avranno come teatro o musei bolzanini o grandi sale. Appuntamento anche la domenica con “un giornalista si confessa”, Gian Antonio Stella, e la scrittrice di best seller Susanna Tamaro. La lunga notte dei musei …e dello shoppingVenerdì 27 novembre ritornerà l’appuntamento con la “Lunga notte dei musei” con mostre e collezioni da sco-prire, visite guidate, incontri, laboratori, musica, spettacoli. In un’avvolgente atmosfera notturna sei musei bolzanini apriranno le loro porte alla città dalle 16 all’1 di notte. Fino alle 20 protagonisti saranno le famiglie e i bambini, con giochi, animazione, workshop e altre occasioni per diver-tirsi e imparare. In questa particolare occasione il Mercati-no di Natale e i negozi del centro città saranno aperti fino alle 22. La tazzina ufficiale del Mercatino di Bolzano quest’anno si fa in quattroDa non perdere la tazzina da collezione del Mercatino di Natale, che per il 25° anniversario sarà disponibile in quat-tro versioni. La tazzina è firmata da Christine Gallmetzer che racconta lo spirito del Natale con la raffinatezza che le è propria.

RUBIN & GOLDEN Non sono i gioielli della nuova collezione, ma le due bevande originali, studiate, testate e proposte solo ai Mercatini Originali dell’Alto Adige. Una è analcolica, il colore è quello del rubino con i sapori antichi della mela, della mela cotogna e dell’anice; l’altra è legger-mente alcolica con un po’ di sidro, anice e cotogna. Una delizia al palato e al naso e una persistenza degna di molti vini. A Bolzano si trova presso lo stand dei vini del Mercatino di Natale.


Programma di contornoLa musica è come sempre una parte fondamentale del mercatino: le melodie tradizionali dell’Avvento Alpino non risuonano solamente dagli altoparlanti: saranno eseguite dal vivo in tutti i fine settimana. Diverse ore di programma distribuite su tutta la giornata accoglieranno ospiti e bol-zanini nel magico mondo della musica tradizionale locale, con costumi e suoni autentici, spesso tramandati solo at-traverso la tradizione orale. Come di consuetudine i fiati torneranno a suonare anche dal balcone di Palazzo Mer-cantile su via Portici, ogni sabato alle 17. Il 19 e 20 dicem-bre il mercatino vedrà l’allestimento del presepe vivente, questa volta sul palco nel centro della piazza, dove, come per magia, le figure di legno diventeranno reali, accom-pagnate durante il pomeriggio dalle melodie di cantori e musicisti. Capodanno Per festeggiare l’arrivo dell’anno nuovo verrà organizzata una speciale festa di Capodanno nel centro storico. Un susseguirsi di esibizioni live di band e dj in piazza Dome-nicani e piazza Erbe, spettacolari walking acts con tram-poli e giochi di fuoco tra le due piazze e un emozionante countdown di mezzanotte. Green EventSostenibile, regionale e unico. Anche nel 2015 il Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano si presenta con uno splendido abito “verde”. Sempre più sinonimo di sostenibilità, regionalista e genuinità, il mercatino ha ottenuto la certificazione Green Event grazie al rispetto di parametri come l’utilizzo di prodotti a basso impatto ambientale, il risparmio ener-getico e un’efficace gestione dei rifiuti. Pacchetti vacanza “Magie d’Avvento”In occasione del Mercatino di Natale gli alberghi di Bol-zano proporranno pacchetti vacanza per un soggiorno all’insegna della tradizione natalizia, che comprendono: tre pernottamenti con colazione (arrivo domenica, lunedì, martedì), la partecipazione a una visita guidata del centro storico, l’ingresso al Museo Mercantile, la tazzina da col-lezione del Mercatino di Natale e un assaggio di biscotti in albergo.

BOZNER CHRISTKINDL- MARKTWas wäre Weinachten ohne ihn? Eigentlich ist Gold die Farbe des Weihnachtsfest, der Bozner Christkindlmarkt trägt in diesem Jahr aber Silber. Am 26. November um 17 Uhr wird die erfolgreichste Veranstaltung der Stadt Bozen zum 25. Mal festlich eröffnet.

Achtzig Aussteller sind es, die es bis zum 6. Januar 2016 rund um den Waltherplatz weihnachten lassen und drei Gastrono-miestände verwöhnen die Gäste mit lo-kalen Spezialitäten wie Strudel, Gebäck,

Apfelküchl, Glühwein und Apfelpunsch.Wie jedes Jahr dürfen Habitués auf Neuheiten gespannt sein, wie z. B. die Initiative „Lesen am Bozner Christkindl-markt“, im Rahmen derer 12 Erfolgsautoren ihre neuesten Werke vorstellen werden. Vier Musikkapellen und Chöre werden den festlichen Auftakt zur Jubiläumsedition der größten Veranstaltung der Stadt im Jahreskreis geben.Der weithin leuchtende Weihnachtsbaum und die tradi-tionelle Bauern-Krippe mit ihrem Stall aus antikem Holz und echten Holzschindeln sind während der Advents-zeit unbestrittener Mittelpunkt des Waltherplatzes. Die Marktstände werden in bewährter Manier rund um den Walther-Brunnen angeordnet. Alpine Tradition für das schönste aller Feste. Christbaumschmuck aus Holz und Stroh, handbemalte Kugeln, Bienenwachs- und Kunst- Kerzen, Filzhüte, Pantoffeln, Weihnachtsgebäck, Instru-mente, Weihnachtskarten, Spielzeug aus Holz und vieles andere mehr. Mehr als ein Drittel der Produkte sind origi-nal Südtiroler Handarbeit.Vor dem Bozner Rathaus wird wie jedes Jahr vom ersten Advent bis zum 23. Dezember der Markt des Kunsthand-werks abgehalten, an dem Aussteller aus der Region und aus ganz Italien teilnehmen, die zum Teil auch vor Ort ihrer Arbeit nachgehen.

Programm für die kleinen GästeAuch wenn der Christkindlmarkt Kinder mit seinen bun-ten Farben, Lichtern, Gerüchen und Leckereien fasziniert, sind ihrer Ausdauer doch Grenzen gesetzt. Am Muster-platz gibt es verschiedene Angebote für Kinder wie un-ter Aufsicht basteln und spielen. Zum Familienangebot des Christkindlmarkts gehören natürlich auch ein kleiner Spielplatz, der bewährte Kinder-Zug und das kleine Karus-sell, romantische Kutschenfahrten durch die geschmückte Altstadt oder Ponyreiten. Die Lange Nacht der MuseenBozen ist eine Stadt der Kultur, sechs Museen sind über das Stadtzentrum verteilt und laden am 27. November zur Nacht der Museen ein: das Archäologiemuseum mit Ötzi, Museion, das Naturmuseum, das Merkantilmuseum usw. Von 16 Uhr bis ein Uhr nachts laden sie zu einem Mu-seumsbesuch der besonderen Art ein. Bis 20 Uhr gibt es ein reiches Familienprogramm mit Spielen, Workshops und Führungen. Auch die Stände des Christkindlmarktes und die Geschäfte bleiben an diesem Freitagabend bis 22 Uhr geöffnet.

Christkindlmarkt-Tasse in vierfacher AusführungEs gibt Sammler, die stolz sind auf ihre 24 Christkindl-markttassen, die sie von der ersten Ausgabe an Jahr für Jahr gesammelt haben. Jetzt heißt es Platz machen im Re-gal: Zum 25. Jubiläum gibt es nicht eine sondern gleich vier neue Tassen, kreiert von Künstlerin Christine Gallmetzer.BegleitprogrammKein Weihnachten ohne Musik und so werden auch in diesem Jahr an allen Adventswochenenden Südtiroler Musikgruppen in typischer Tracht und mit traditionellen Instrumenten das alpine Weihnachten erklingen lassen. An jedem Samstag werden um 17 Uhr vom Balkon des Merkantilgebäudes Bläsergruppen spielen. Am 19. und 20. Dezember erwachen die Holzfiguren der Krippe zu Füßen des Weihnachtsbaumes wie durch Zauber zu Leben und laden zum Krippenspiel ein.Silvester Feuerspiele, Walking-Acts, Livemusik und DJs werden an Silvester die Altstadt Bozens sowie den Waltherplatz und den Obstmarkt beleben bis zum Countdown, wenn eine Minute vor Mitternacht die Sekunden zum Jahreswechsel gezählt werden. Green EventNachhaltig, regional und einzigartig – so präsentiert sich der Bozner Christkindlmarkt auch in seiner Jubiläums-ausgabe. Das Sortiment traditioneller Produkte aus der Region, hergestellt nach umweltfreundlichen Methoden und mit ebensolchen Materialien, der sparsame, verant-wortungsvolle Umgang mit Energie sowie ein ökologi-sches Abfallprogramm haben dieser Bozner Großveran-staltung das Gütezeichen „Green Event“ eingetragen. Auf die Besucher des Christkindlmarktes warten interes-sante Angebote der Hotel- und Gastbetriebe.

RUBIN & GOLDENNein, es handelt sich nicht um zwei für den Christ-kindlmarkt entworfene Schmuckstücke, sondern um die beiden neuen Getränke made in Südtirol, die auf allen Südtiroler Christkindlmärkten ange-boten werden. Rubin ist alkoholfrei, auch wenn die Farbe einem Glühwein ähnelt. Apfel, Quitte und Anis verleihen diesem Getränk eine ganz besondere Geschmacksnote. Golden ist hingegen leicht alko-holhaltig, eine gelungene Mischung von Apfelcidre mit Quitte und Anis. Am Weinstand des Bozner Christkindlmarkt zu verkosten.

Во время четырех недель Рождественского кануна (Адвента) в Больцано приедут двенадцать писателей - восемь итальянских и четыре, пишущих на немецком. Они представят свои последние труды, вместе с редакторами трех местных газет - по четвергам, пятницам и субботам каждой недели. Также и по воскресеньям пройдут встречи под названием «Журналист исповедуется». Долгая ночь музеев и… шоппинга В пятницу 27-го ноября вернется «Долгая ночь музеев» с интересными выставками, экскурсиями, встречами, лабораториями, музыкой, спектаклями. Шесть музеев Больцано откроют свои двери - с 16 до 1 часа ночи. До 20 часов особое внимание уделено семьям - это игры, анимация, развлекательные и образовательные лаборатории. По этому случаю Рождественский базар и магазины в центре будут открыты до 22 часов.

РОЖДЕСТВЕНСКИЙ БАЗАР В БОЛЬЦАНО ПРАЗДНУЕТ 25 ЛЕТ

Открыт с 26 ноября по 6 января 2016 года: это 80 участников, семь партнеров и три гастрономических стенда. Предвидится немало новшеств, начиная с церемонии открытия при звуках четырех городских оркестров, а также итальянских и немецких хоров. К подножию огромной Рождественской елки вернется альпийский вертеп с настоящим хлевом в миниатюре. На прилавках - исключительно местная продукция.

Официальная чашка Рождественского базара Нельзя упустить возможность заиметь коллекционную чашку, которая к 25-летнему юбилею получит четыре варианта, исполненных художницей Кристиной Галлметцер. Сопроводительная программа Традиционные мелодии альпийского Адвента (Рождественского кануна) будут исполнены «в живую» во все уикенды - их наряды и звуки часто передаются из поколения к поколению только устным образом. Духовая музыка прозвучит с балкона Палаццо Меркантиле каждую субботу, с 17 час. 19-20 декабря на сцене в центре площади будет устроен живой вертеп, сопровождаемый в полуденное время музыкой. Новый годРади встречи Нового года будет организован специальный праздник, с концертами музыкантов и дискотеками на пьяцца Доменикани и пьяцца Эрбе, с хождениями на ходулях, шутихами и фейерверками, и с обратным отсчетом к полуночи. Green EventЭкологично, регионально и уникально. Также и в 2015 году Рождественский базар облачен в «зеленый» цвет. Он получил сертификат «Green Event» («Зеленое событие») благодаря использованию экологичных продуктов, экономии электроэнергии и эффективной уборке мусора. Турпакеты «Волшебство Адвента»Для Рождественского базара гостиницы Больцано предлагают особые пакеты - это три ночлега с завтраком (прибытие в воскресенье, понедельник и вторник), экскурсия по историческому центру, вход в Торговый музей (Museo Mercantile), коллекционная чашка и дегустация печенья в гостинице. ple-fritters, mulled wine and apple punch.Regulars will once again be treated to novelties, this year featuring „Reading at Bolzano’s Christmas market“, at which 12 successful authors will present their latest works. Four music bands and choirs will accompany the opening of Bolzano’s biggest event of the year.The illuminations of the massive Christmas tree and the rustic crib with its wooden shingles will again be the hi-ghlight of Advent on the Waltherplatz. As always, the mar-ket stalls will be grouped around the Walther monument. Christmas decorations made of wood and straw, hand-painted baubles, beeswax candles, felt hats and slippers, Christmas biscuits, musical instruments, Christmas cards, wooden toys and much else besides will be on offer. Over one third of the products are original South Tyrolean han-dicrafts.From the first Sunday in Advent through to the 23rd De-cember, the square in front of the old town hall will also host an arts and handicrafts market, with craftspeople from the region and all over Italy taking part, some of whom will actually be creating their handicrafts on the spot.

Special programme for our younger visitorsThe Christmas market with its bright colours, lights, smells and flavours will for sure fascinate children, but of course, we all know that their attention-span is limited. Chil-dren will have the chance to do various forms of arts and crafts in the Musterplatz, or they can play in the dedicated playground, ride on the kiddies‘ train and on the small roundabout, or even go on pony and horse-drawn car- riage rides through the festively-decorated town centre.

The long night of the museumsBolzano is a city of culture with its six museums scattered around the centre, all of which invite locals and visitors alike to the ‚long night of the museums‘ on Friday 27th November: the Archaeology Museum with Ötzi, the gla-cier mummy, the Museion of modern art, the Natural Hi-story museum, the Mercantile Museum, and others. Doors are open between 4.00pm and 1.00am and until 8.00pm there’s a family-friendly programme, with games, work-shops and guided tours. Also the Christmas market stalls will remain open till 10.00pm on this day.

Christmas market mug in four different versionsThere are many collectors proud of their collection of all the 24 Christmas mugs since the first edition of the mar-ket. Now you need to make more space in your cabinet because the 25th anniversary will not see just one new mug, but four – all created by the local artist Christine Gallmetzer.

Fringe programmeChristmas without music is unthinkable and also this year will see various South Tyrolean music groups in their tradi-tional costumes performing during the weekends of Ad-vent. Brass musicians will also perform every Saturday at 5.00pm on the balcony of the Mercantile building. On the 19th and 20th December the life-sized wooden statues of the crib will magically come to life.

RUBY & GOLD No, these aren’t pieces of jewellery created for the Christmas market but two new drinks made in South Tyrol which will be on offer at all South Tyrol’s Christmas markets. Ruby is non-alcoholic even if it looks a bit like mulled wine. It has a distinctive taste and is made made with apple, quince and aniseed. Gold is mildly-alcoholic, a successful mix of cider with quince and aniseed. Both are to be had at the wine stall on the Bolzano Christmas market.

Sarà un Mercatino tutto da ... sfogliare quello che ac-cenderà le sue luci il 26 novembre a Bolzano. Arrivato in ottima salute alla sua venticinquesima edizione,

l’appuntamento natalizio che per primo ha portato in Italia una lunga e consolidata tradizione dei paesi nordici, si pre-senta quest’anno al suo pubblico con una novità dedicata alla lettura. “Un Natale di libri”: così s’intitola il progetto che prenderà corpo in uno stand appositamente realizzato e ospitato, proprio nell’ambito del mercatino, in un contai-ner dall’ardita struttura ideata da esperti designer, messo a disposizione dall’imprenditrice Maria Niederstätter.In questo spazio, dal 26 novembre sino al 23 dicembre, tro-veranno posto i dodici libri scelti come possibili strenne per i regali di Natale. Da sempre il libro è uno dei regali più gettonati nel periodo natalizio. Un dono che dice qualcosa di chi lo regala e di chi lo riceve e che non è mai né sgradito né inutile. Partendo da questo concetto gli organizzatori del Mercatino hanno pensato dunque di affiancare a tutta la varietà degli oggetti in mostra e in vendita anche questi volumi. Dodici libri, otto dei quali firmati da autori italiani e quattro da scrittori del mondo tedesco, ovviamente la proposta ideata dai responsabili dell’Azienda di Soggiorno e Turismo di Bolzano non si è fermata alla pura esposizione e vendita dei volumi scelti. A presentare le loro “creature” arriveranno a Bolzano anche parecchi autori. Tra le “firme” più note nel mondo di lingua italiana hanno già conferma-to la loro presenza Susanna Tamaro e Gian Antonio Stella. In arrivo anche Vittorio Feltri, Marcello Simoni, Edoardo Raspelli, Simona Raspelli e Mario Giordano. Tre grandi cuochi altoatesini presenteranno poi a modo loro il volu-me con le ricette da essi stessi elaborate. Invece di parlare cucineranno in piazza. Gli incontri avverranno il giovedì, il venerdì e il sabato di ognuna delle quattro settimane e avranno come teatro o musei bolzanini o grandi sale. Un “regalo” che dovrebbe essere gradito non solo agli ospiti in arrivo, come ogni anno, da tutta Italia e da altri paesi europei, ma anche e soprattutto ai bolzanini chiamati ad esplorare con la loro curiosità il “pianeta libro”.

Con la 25a edizione, che si apre il 26 novem-bre, il Mercatino di Natale di Bolzano apre le sue porte alla più classica delle strenne: il libro. Grandi autori tra gli stand per pre-sentare le loro ultime creazioni.

Im futuristischen Container, den die Unternehmerin Maria Niederstätter der Stadt zur Verfü-gung gestellt hat, werden sich bekannte Autoren und In-tellektuelle aus dem deutsch- und italienischsprachigen Raum das Stelldichein geben und ihre jüngsten Werke vorstellen und kommentieren.Zwölf eigens ausgesuchte Werke, vier von deutschspra-chigen Autoren und acht in italienischer Sprache, werden

dem Publikum vorgestellt. Verlage wie Piper, Fi-scher und Rowohlt präsentieren Neuausgaben. Die Kinderbuchautorinnen Inga Marie Ramcke und Tonia Wiatrowski werden ihren „Reisefüh-rer für Tiere“ vorstellen, Micaela Jary aus ihrem jüngsten bei Piper erschienen Roman, „Sterne über der Alster“ lesen. Die österreichische Kri-miautorin Eva Rossmann ist mit dem neuesten Fall der Journalistin Mira Valensky, „Im Faden-

kreuz“, mit von der Partie. Drei Köche werden am Platz beim Schaukochen demonstrieren, wie einfach die Rezepte aus ihren Kochbüchern nachzukochen sind. Die Begegnungen mit den Autoren werden jeweils don-nerstags, freitags oder samstags stattfinden und richten sich selbstverständlich nicht nur an die Gäste, die von überall nach Bozen kommen, um den Zauber des Weih-nachtsfest zu Füßen der Dolomiten zu erleben, sondern auch an das Bozner Publikum.

Eines der seit jeher klassischen Weih-nachtsgeschenke wird im Mittelpunkt der 25. Ausgabe des Bozner Christkindlmarkts stehen, der am 26. November seine Tore öffnet. Books – one of the most traditional of Christmas gifts – will be the focus of the 25th edition of the Bolzano Christmas mar-ket, which opens on the 26th November. Famous publishers and authors from Italy and Germany will be present, along with literary readings and meetings – a real novelty this year!

Christmas is synonymous with traditions, and what is more traditional than a book under the Christmas tree or in Santa’s sock? “Reading at the

Christmas market” is the new initiative which will sur-prise this year’s visitors. Famous authors and intellectu-als of the German- and Italian-speaking world will meet and discuss literary topics with the public in the futuristic container placed at the town’s disposal by the business-woman Maria Niederstätter.Twelve specially-chosen works, four by German-language authors and eight by Italian-language authors, will be presented to the public, along with major German and Italian publishers with their latest publications. Three chefs will demonstrate their culinary skills on the Waltherplatz, using recipes from their books.The meetings with the authors take place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and are aimed not only at visitors to Bolzano, but also at the Bolzano townspeople them-selves.

Welche darf es denn heute sein? Bozen ist das Tor zu den Dolomiten, liegt aber selbst nur 265 Meter hoch. Kaum zu glauben, dass man von hier aus in weniger als vierzig Minuten auf den schönsten Pisten der Dolomiten stehen kann.

Wer auch während des Skiurlaubs nicht auf Kultur und städtischen Flair verzichten möchte und mehr als nur Après-Ski sucht, ist in Bozen genau richtig. Von der Stadt aus

kann man fünf Skigebiete in weniger als einer Stunde er-reichen, 25 bis 50 Minuten braucht man, um die Aufstiegs-anlagen von Obereggen, Carezza – Karerpass, Reinswald im Sarntal oder das Rittner Horn zu erreichen. Auch die Weltcup-Pisten von Gröden liegen weniger als eine Stun-de entfernt.Bozen hat 105.000 Einwohner, genau die richtige Größe, um noch überschaubar zu sein und dennoch von allem etwas zu bieten. Restaurants mit typisch Südtiroler oder italienischer Küche, Bars und Kneipen, eine verführeri-sche Shoppingmeile, Museen, Galerien und ein kulturelles Angebot, das auch Anspruchsvolle zufrieden stellt. In der Weihnachtszeit steht die Stadt ganz im Bann des Christkindlmarkts, der vom 26. November bis zum 6. Januar die ganze Stadt in Weihnachtszauber versetzt.

Sarntal - ReinswaldDas Sarntal liegt nur eine halbe Stunde entfernt von Bozen versteckt wie das Zwergenhaus von Schneewittchen hinter sieben Tunneln und offenbart den Besuchern eine andere Welt. Ein unberührtes Ambiente mit alten Höfen und Wiesen und einem kleinen aber feinen modern aus-gerüsteten Skigebiet (1.000–2.500 m), das auch mit einer Europa-Cup-Piste mit 58 % Gefälle aufwarten kann. Die Schlittenpiste ist mit 4,5 km eine der längsten Süd-tirols und garantiert Spaß für die ganze Familie – auch bei Mondschein.

Rittner HornDer Ritten, einer der drei Hausberge von Bozen, wartet mit einem einzigartigen Dolomitenpanorama und mit einem kleinen, aber allen modernen Ansprüchen genügenden Skigebiet auf, das Nostalgie aufkommen lässt. Eine mo-derne Kabinenbahn führt Skifahrer, Rodler, Langläufer und Spaziergänger auf die Mittel- und Bergstation; hier gehen zwei Pisten und die Rodelbahn los. Die Winterwan-derer können von hier oben das gesamte Hochplateau erschließen. Direkt unter dem Rittner Horn wecken zwei akkurat beschneite Schlepplift-Pisten Erinnerungen an die 60er Jahre, ein Genuss vor allem für jene Skifahrer, die sich abseits des großen Rummels auf ihren Brettern ver-gnügen wollen. 15 km Pisten, eine spannende Rodelbahn,

Snowboard-Park, Loipen und Schneeschuhpisten, die das Rittner Horn mit der Villanderer Alm verbinden, machen aus dem Ritten das ideale Familienwintersport-gebiet, auch wenn man nur einen Nachmittag Zeit hat. In Klobenstein kann man sich auf der Kunsteisbahn im Eisschnelllauf üben; wer es gemütlicher mag, sollte dem vereisten Wolfsgrubner See einen Besuch abstatten.Die moderne Rittner Seilbahn startet im Zentrum von Bozen und führt in wenigen Minuten nach Oberbozen. Von der Talstation gelangt man per Bus direkt ins Skige-biet. Das Rittner Christbahnl lädt zur romantischen Anno-Dazumal-Fahrt über den tief verschneiten Ritten ein und führt auch am kleinen Rittner Weihnachtsmarkt vorbei.

Obereggen – LatemarDas 1.550 Meter hoch gelegene Obereggen zu Füßen des Latemar ist dank der neu ausgebauten Eggentaler Straße und zwei Tunnels nur mehr einen Katzensprung von Bozen entfernt und sozusagen die Hauspiste der Bozner.

Mit mehr als 48 km perfekt beschneiten und gepflegten Pisten bis auf 2.500 Meter, 18 Aufstiegsanlagen, einem Snowpark für Snowboarder mit Half-Pipe und Cross- Boarder-Piste, Loipen und Rodelbahn ein Paradies für jeden Wintersportfan, vom Anfänger bis zum Profi, für Klein und Groß. Nur wenige Kilometer entfernt liegt das Langlauf-Skicenter Lavazé mit perfekt gespurten Loipen für jedes Niveau.

Carezza – WelschnofenEbenfalls im Eggental und nur 30 Minuten von Bozen entfernt liegt das Skigebiet Carezza-Karerpass an den Hängen des Rosengartens. Ein von der Sonne verwöhn-tes Familienskigebiet mit 15 Aufstiegsanlagen, eine davon direkt am Parkplatz in Welschnofen. Über 40 km Pisten, Kids Snow Park und der Christomannos Snowpark mit Hindernissen und Sprungschanzen versprechen ein Rund-um-Skivergnügen.

Bolzano capitale dello sci? Per chi non la cono-sce la definizione non è sorprendente, visto che siamo alla porta delle Dolomiti. Se l’ospi-te consulta cataloghi e internet può restare perplesso scoprendo come, pur nel cuore delle

Alpi, la città si trovi ad appena 265 metri di quota.Eppure è proprio questo “regalo” della natura che ha fatto di Bolzano una città ideale per una vacanza sulla neve ab-binata ai vantaggi della città. In un arco di tempo che va dai 25 a 60 minuti massimo, si può raggiungere ben quat-tro prestigiosi comprensori turistico-sportivi: Obereggen-Latemar, Carezza - Nova Levante, Reinswald-Sarentino e il Corno del Renon, dai quali, dopo un’intensa giornata pas-sata fra sci alpino, fondo, acrobazie e passeggiate, in pochi minuti si può scendere fra le luci della città. Bolzano, 105 mila abitanti, una piccola-grande città con un’offerta che ha poco da invidiare ai grandi centri urbani: shopping d’al-to livello, gastronomia italo-sudtirolese, internazionale o etnica, deliziosi bar ideali per l’“happy hour”, impianti per tutti gli sport, piste ciclabili, cinque teatri, cinema, audi-torium. … e il più famoso Mercatino di Natale dall’ultima settimana di novembre al 6 gennaio. Ma torniamo sulla neve.

Sarentino-ReinswaldLa Val Sarentino, a soli 30 minuti da Bolzano, sorprende su-bito per un colpo d’occhio tutto diverso con il suo compren-sorio invernale, che segna un passaggio repentino da un ambiente urbano a un paesaggio di forte impronta rurale. Si tratta di un’area che sale dai 1.000 metri circa del borgo di San Martino a quasi 2.500 metri, ideale per sciatori, snowboarder, slittinisti, fondisti e scialpinisti. La pista “regina” per i discesisti provetti è la “Jochpiste” (ma ci sono anche facili pendii per bimbi e principianti), utilizzata per la Coppa Europa, con una pendenza del 58%. Meno impegnativa la “Reinswalder Wiesn” di 4,5 km, una delle piste di slittino più lunghe dell’Alto Adige,adattata con opportune misure, anche per romantichegite a piedi o in slitta sotto la luna piena.Corno del RenonEd eccoci infine sul culmine del noto Altopiano del Renon, la cima “Corno” a 2.270 metri d’altezza, piccola località

incontaminata per chi non ama la “pazza folla” . È rag-giungibile entro un massimo di 45 minuti in auto, oppu-re con tutta calma, mediante vari mezzi tra cui anche un suggestivo ultracentenario trenino elettrico e una moder-nissima cabinovia con vista in “cinemascope” sulla conca di Bolzano. L’offerta è completa: una cabinovia e 2 skilift, 15 chilometri di piste per sciatori e snowboarder, 2 piste da fondo (nonché da ciaspole) per 40 km in totale, verso la vasta distesa dell’Alpe di Villandro; inoltre, snow park, parco giochi per bimbi, pista di slittino (2,5 km), sci alpini-smo guidato, pattinaggio velocità su anello artificiale (a Collalbo) oppure “libero” sulla distesa ghiacciata del lago di Costalovara.Obereggen -LatemarÈ uno dei comprensori più vasti e il più vicino alla città, in Val d’Ega a 20 minuti d’auto (1.500-2.500 m di quota) ai piedi del Gruppo dolomitico Latemar, patrimonio dell’Unesco, uno dei più prestigiosi centri invernali delle Alpi per servizi d’eccellenza. Impianti d’avanguardia per sci, slittino anche in notturna lungo i 48 km di piste con 18 impianti che portano anche al versante di Pampeago in Val di Fiemme. Amanti della tavola e free-stylers si ritro-vano nello snowpark per sfidarsi su kickers, halfpipes, bag jump; aperta inoltre una pista da fondo per grandi e picco-li, accoglienti gli hotel con piscina e wellness. Non manca il “dopo sci” e la vita notturna nei caldi e accoglienti locali animati da musica e ballo.Carezza – Nova LevanteA 30 minuti d’auto, sempre in Val d’Ega, ecco il secondo spettacolare scenario dolomitico che parte da 1.182 me-tri e sale fino ai piedi del Catinaccio (1.600 m). Un com-prensorio con il sole “a lunga durata”, ideale per famiglie e agonisti, grazie a 41 km di splendide discese con neve ga-rantita, servite da 15 impianti di risalita, con possibilità di sistemare i bimbi in un tranquillo parco, primo in Italia con scivoli, tappeti mobili, pupazzi gonfiabili e quant’altro; per i più grandicelli c’è lo Snowpark “Christomannos” che offre divertenti, ma sicure acrobazie con “trampolini” e tracciati a ostacoli.

The toboggan run (4.5 km) is one of South Tyrol’s longest and is great fun for all the family.Rittner HornThe Ritten, one of Bolzano’s three local mountains, is fa-mous for its amazing panoramic views and for its char-ming dejà-vue ski circus. A modern gondola lift whisks you up to the mountain station, while on the Horn itself drag-lifts evoke a 1960’s atmosphere, great fun in particu-lar for those trying to escape the big crowds. Apart from the 15 km of pistes, there is also a toboggan run, a snow-board-park, cross-country tracks and snowshoeing trails connecting the Horn with the Villanderer Alm. The nearby village of Klobenstein has a speed-skating ice-rink, while for those who want to take it a bit easier there’s a lovely winter-walk through the woods to the frozen Wolfsgru-ben See lake.

delle slitte, così motivare i più piccoli nell’affrontare la salita diventa un gioco da ragazzi. La Skihütte è l’esatto opposto dell’elegante vicino. Qui si è volutamente rustici e tirolesi, a tu per tu con tutti, e mentre in tavola arrivano piatti tradizionali come patate arrostite con carne, Kaiser-schmarrn o strudel, si beve birra, sciroppo di sambuco fatto in casa o punch. In giardino ad attendere l’ospite c’è la sauna messa a di-sposizione gratuitamente e chi preferisce non scendere a valle la sera può dormire in una delle sette stanze, sem-plici e arredate con mobili contadini d’epoca, con grossi piumini in trapunte a quadretti e vecchi pavimenti scric-chiolanti. Naturalmente col bagno sul corridoio. Insomma, vera atmosfera contadina di montagna in vendita a poco prezzo ma con grande stile. Chi poi dovesse arrivare il pomeriggio troverà sempre un piatto caldo. Durante i fine settimana dell’Avvento si può visitare inol-tre il mercatino di Natale di Sarentino all’insegna delle tra-dizioni alpine e nei tre giovedì prima del solstizio invernale bisogna stare attenti ai cosiddetti “Klöckler“. Sono i giova-ni maschi del paese che girano travestiti con maschere bizzarre e trombe, schiamazzando e facendo baccano per le strade. Bussano alle porte con insistenza e l’unico modo per liberarsene è quello di fare loro un dono. Un rito di fertilità le cui origini si perdono nella notte dei tempi.

Bisogna sapere come arrivarci, nascosti come sono nella piccolissima frazione di Prati di Sarentino, Auen in tedesco. Raggiungibili in macchina o nel caso della Skihütte anche a piedi, con le ciaspole o con gli sci da scialpi-

nismo. “All’inizio essere così isolati è stato un problema per noi”, ricorda Heinrich Schneider, che gestisce assieme alla sorella Gisela l’“Auener Hof”, ristorante aperto negli anni Settanta dai loro genitori e oggi il più alto in Italia a potersi fregiare di una stella Michelin, quota 1.614 metri per essere precisi. Dal 2014 sono anche fieri portatori di tre cappelli della rinomata guida Gault Millau e in più, nel mondo dei gourmet, la loro relativa inaccessibilità oggi è diventata un punto di forza e un elemento di fascino.All’Auener Hof si può solo cenare optando per un menu a nove o a sedici portate. Caratteristica particolare della cu-cina stellata e volutamente “a vista” di Heinrich Schneider sono le erbe e i fiori che va a raccogliere tutti i giorni nel bosco e sui prati attorno al suo ristorante. Gisela Schnei-der invece è sommelier e il locale vanta una lista di mille etichette con una preferenza per piccoli produttori locali. Attorno al ristorante “Terra” con la sua finestra sulla cucina che è l’indiscutibile centro dell’Auener Hof, ci sono le otto stanze e le due suite, la biblioteca e la piccola spa.

Chi si trova alle prese con una giornata grigia, umida e fredda ha un sogno: un paesaggio invernale incontamina-to, cielo blu intenso e la neve che canta sotto gli stivali. In Val Sarentino e in particolare a Prati questo sogno è la pura realtà. Da Prati infatti, si parte a piedi per raggiunge-re i cosiddetti “Stoanerne Mandln”. Secondo la leggenda un luogo magico, dove le streghe tenevano i loro sabba. Nessuno sa se gli omini di pietra si trasformassero davve-ro in fattucchiere nella notte di Santa Valpurga, ma il luo-go non ha perso nulla dell’antica magia e in più offre un panorama strepitoso sulle cime delle Dolomiti.La Skihütte mette poi a disposizione degli escursionisti

Certo non potrebbero essere più diversi, anche se distano meno di cento metri l’uno dall’altro. La tirolese “Skihütte” e l’esclusivo “Dining-Home Auener Hof”, due facce dell’ospitalità altoatesina. Ognuno unico a modo suo.

Hinfinden muss man allerdings. Die Sarn-theiner Fraktion Auen liegt versteckt hoch über dem Hauptort des Sarntals und muss erst einmal erklommen werden, mit dem Auto oder aber zu Fuß. „Am Anfang war

diese Abgelegenheit ein Hindernis für uns“, erinnert sich Heinrich Schneider, der gemeinsam mit seiner Schwester Gisela den Auener Hof führt. Der von den Eltern erbaute Gasthof ist heute das höchstgelegenen (Michelin) Stern-lokal in Italien. 1.614 Meter sind es. Seit vergangenem Jahr tragen sie auch drei Hauben von Gault Millau und sind einem Feinschmecker Publikum längst nicht mehr unbe-kannt.Einfach so einkehren kann man nicht im Auener Hof. Es gibt nur Abendküche, zur Wahl ein neun- bzw. 16gängiges Menü, das unter der Aufsicht von Chef Heinrich Schneider in der offen einsehbaren Küche zube-reitet wird. Erkennungszeichen der Gourmetküche sind seltene Bergkräuter in ungewöhnlichen Kombinationen, die Heinrich Schneider jeden Tag in Wald und Wiese pflückt. Gisela Schneider ist Sommelier und serviert die entsprechenden Weine dazu, ihr Weinkeller enthält mehr als tausend Etiketten, mit einer Vorliebe für kleine hoch-wertige Produzenten. Die acht Zimmer und zwei Suiten des Auener Hofs sind wie die Spa und die Bibliothek um das Restaurant Terra angeordnet.

Wer hat während regengrauen feuchtkalten Winterta-gen nicht schon davon geträumt: unberührte Winter-landschaft, glänzender Schnee, der unter den Schuhen knirscht, ein tiefblauer Himmel und himmlische Ruhe. Im Sarntal und in Auen ist dies Realität. Am Parkplatz in Auen startet der Winterwanderweg zu den Stoanernen Mandln.Der Legende nach war dies der Ort, an dem sich Hexen zu ihren wilden Festen versammelten. Ob die Steinmänn-chen tatsächlich versteinerte Hexen sind, die sich zur Walpurgisnacht in Fleisch und Blut verwandeln, sei dahin-gestellt. Jedenfalls strahlt dieses Hochplateau Magie aus und bietet zudem einen einmaligen Blick auf die Bergwelt der Dolomiten. Die Wanderer können sich an der Skihütte Rodeln aus-leihen, so wird es auch ein leichtes, Kinder zum „Aufilau-fen“ zu animieren, wenn es danach auf der Rodel bergab geht. So fein der Auener Hof, so deftig ist die Skihütte. Hier gibt man sich ganz besonders südtirolerisch, begrüßt alle Gäste mit Du und stellt deftige Hausmannskost auf den Tisch. Herrengröstl, Bratkartoffeln, hausgemachten Ho-lundersaft.

Wer von Sarnthein mit den Tourenskiern hochgewandert ist, kann sich in der Sauna entspannen. Wem es am Abend zu weit ins Tal ist, kann in einem der sieben Zimmer über-nachten. Original-Bauernmöbel, dicke Federbetten, knar-rende Holzdielen und das Bad auf dem Gang. Urig, gemüt-lich und für jeden Geldbeutel. Geöffnet ist die Skihütte das ganze Jahr, und für Wanderer gibt es den ganzen Nachmittag über drei warme Gerichte zur Auswahl.Nicht entgehen lassen sollte man sich in den vier Ad-ventswochenenden den kleinen Weihnachtsmarkt ganz im Zeichen der Sarner Traditionen. Aufgepasst heißt es an den drei Donnerstagen vor der Wintersonnwende, wenn die Klöckler unterwegs sind, junge Burschen mit blauem Schurz, Holzlatschen, furchterregenden Masken und wildem Gehabe, die einen Heidenlärm machen und nur durch entsprechende Gaben zu vertreiben sind. Ein Fruchtbarkeitsritus heidnischen Ursprungs.

Verschiedener könnten Nachbarn nicht sein. Und doch liegen nicht einmal hundert Meter zwischen ihnen. Die urige Sarner Skihütte und das exklusive Dining-Home Auener Hof, zwei Facetten der Südtiroler Gastfreundschaft. Jeder auf seine Weise einzig.

Getting here, however, is no mean feat. The hamlet of Auen is tucked away high above the main village of Sarnthein, so this involves either a drive up a winding road or a bracing walk. “At the beginning

our remoteness was a bit of a problem” admits Heinrich Schneider, who runs the Auener Hof together with his sister Gisela. The hotel/restaurant, originally built by their parents, is the highest Michelin-starred restaurant in Italy, at an altitude of 1614 metres. Since last year they have also had 3 Gault-Millau chef’s hats and they have long been a byword for lovers of good food.But it’s not possible to simply turn up at the Auener Hof. For one thing, they only serve dinners. For another, the choice is between a 9-course and a 16-course menu, pre-pared under the supervision of chef Heinrich Schneider in the open-plan kitchen. What distinguishes the exquisite dishes are the unusual combinations of rare mountain herbs which Heinrich Schneider himself picks in the woods and meadows every day. Gisela Schneider is a wine sommelier and recommends suitable wines for each dish from her wine-cellar with over 1000 different labels, many of them small, high-quality vintners. Like the spa and the library, the eight guest rooms and two suites are grouped around the Terra Restaurant.

Riccardo Tonetti, 26 anni, studente in economia, è approdato ai vertici dello sci azzurro facendo la spola per anni fra Bolzano e le piste dolomitiche.

Alberto Tomba, bolognese purosangue o Claudia Giordani, milanese, in regione il roveretano Davide Simoncelli e la mera-nese Sabina Panzanini, pur con Merano 2000 a portata di funivia.Un privilegio questo, di cui non ha bene-ficiato per farsi strada, il primo bolzanino doc fresco titolare nella squadra A, quella degli azzurri “promossi” alla Coppa del Mondo: Riccardo Tonetti, nato nella conca di Bolzano nel 1989 (15 maggio), maturità scientifica in tedesco, casa in centro città dalla quale può scorgere a stento la neve del Corno del Renon. Inoltre è alle prese con gli studi universitari, dove ha liqui-dato, pur girando il mondo, il triennio di Economia a Trento.

Una lenta, lunga e tenace scalata, senza una specifica tradizione familiare alle spalle, la carriera di questo atleta 26enne indirizzata in particolare allo slalom e al supergigante.“Ho messo gli sci a tre anni - racconta - seguendo i genitori (il padre commer-cialista, la mamma professoressa, n.d.r.) seguendo i soliti corsi per bambini, dove ho conosciuto maestri e allenatori, en-trando così nel “giro” attraverso la società più nota, l’Ase Catinaccio. E’ iniziata così la mia vita di atleta sempre di corsa: la scuola, poi fuori alle 13 e via sul pulmino fra Carezza e il Latemar con un panino. Alle 14 sci già calzati e fino alle 16,30 su e giù a divorare paletti; rientro a casa e alle 18, testa sui libri”.La scalata nell’agonismo per Riccardo ini-zia a 15 anni con la caccia ai punti Fisi e Fis: campione italiano “allievi” a Sestola; poi negli “aspiranti”, quindi nei “giovani”

fino a due exploit nel 2012-13 in Coppa Europa (Zell am See e Chamonix). Nell’ul-tima stagione il trionfo decisivo con il primo posto assoluto in Coppa Europa, grazie allo slalom e ai piazzamenti in gigante e super G. Oggi Riccardo Tonetti è a tutti gli effetti nella squadra azzurra “mondiale” con la divisa della Guardia di Finanza, accanto a coetanei liberisti quali Sigmar Klotz e il “mostro” Dominik Paris, iniziando un’altra durissima scalata, il “6° grado” della Cop-pa del Mondo.” Ma come passa il tempo libero, hobby, musica, ballo, ragazze?“Fra queste ultime una e una sola, mol-to più di un “hobby: un angelo biondo di nome … Angela, fisioterapista bolzanina, poi bicicletta, passeggiate, libri di econo-mia e qualche thriller”.

Skiing every weekend with mum and dad. The first skiing courses – a familiar child-hood memory for many people here in Bolzano. But for Riccardo Tonetti it was to become much more: as a member of the Rosengarten ski club, his early years were dominated by the rhythm of inten-sive training. School in the morning, then off to the Karezza ski area at the foot of the Rosengarten and Latemar ranges, armed with a panino, training from 2.00 to 4.30pm before returning home where his school homework awaited him.Apart from being talented you also need to be highly-motivated and to have an

iron will to survive this sort of pressure. Riccardo was up to the challenge and after winning various national junior championships, he has now been promo-ted to the national team. As a slalom spe-cialist he hasn’t just perfected his tech-nique, but also, by the by, has completed his studies in economics at the university of Trento.That future skiing champions don’t ne-cessarily have in to be born in the shad-ow of the mountains was demonstrated by Alberto Tomba (from Bologna) and Claudia Giordani (from Milan). Tonetti laughs: “All of these, but especially one: a blonde angel called Angela, a physiotherapist from Bolzano, and then cycling, hiking, economics books and the odd thriller.”

Over the past few years Riccardo Tonetti has always been on the move. Now 26, this slalom and giant slalom ski-racer first put on skis at the tender age of 3. He will be a member of the Italian national ski team this coming season.

mehr. Er wurde Mitglied des SC Rosen-garten. Seine Kindheit und Jugend war vom Rhythmus des intensiven Trainings bestimmt. Morgens Schule, anschließend mit einem belegten Brot mit dem Bus in Richtung Skigebiet Carezza zu Füßen von Rosengarten und Latemar, um 14 Uhr auf den Skiern und Training bis 16.30 Uhr. Zurück in die Weggensteinstraße in Bo-zen, wo ihn Bücher und Hausaufgaben erwarteten. Neben Talent braucht es hartnäckigen Willen und Motivation, um dieser Bela-

stung standzuhalten. Riccardo Tonetti hat dies und anderes geschafft. Nach ersten Erfolgen, u. a. italienischer Jugendmeister in Slalom und Gewinner des Europacups im Slalom in der Saison 2014/15 wurde Tonetti nun in die Nationalmannschaft berufen. Der Slalomläufer hat nicht nur seine Technik zusehends perfektioniert, sondern in der Zwischenzeit auch sein Wirtschaftsstudium in Trient erfolgreich abgeschlossen.Dass man als künftiger Ski-Champion nicht unbedingt zu Füßen der Skipiste geboren sein muss, haben schon Alberto Tomba aus Bologna und die Mailänderin Claudia Giordani gezeigt. Nicht alle ha-ben das Glück wie Sabina Panzanini oder Denise Karbon mit der Skipiste vor der

Haustüre aufzuwachsen.Bozen ist stolz auf seinen ersten “Azzur-ro” wie die Athleten der Nationalmann-schaft in Italien genannt werden. Viele Jahre lang war Riccardo Tonetti vor allem eines: unterwegs. Der heute 26-jährige Slalom und Super-Riesenslalom-Läufer stand mit drei Jahren zum ersten Mal auf den Skiern. Die kommende Saison bestreitet er als Mitglied der italienischen Nationalmannschaft.

1063 – il punto che fa fondere l’oro I diamanti le piacciono color champagne. Le sue creazioni sono esili e filigranate o all’opposto, vistose e imponenti. L’orafa Evi Klammer utilizza l’oro in tutte le sue colorazioni, l’argento e a volte anche il rame, gemme preziose o pietre dure, sen-za dimenticare le perle. Ogni gioiello un pezzo unico. Le vetrine della sua piccola bottega che porta il nome “1063” dal pun-to di fusione dell’oro, sono rettangolari, strette, ad altezza occhi, ed espongono solo pochi pezzi che non si fanno concor-renza nel catturare lo sguardo e il coup de foudre di chi passa. L’architettura della stretta bottega è minimalista, in fondo il banco da lavoro, davanti il banco di vendi-ta con vetrina incorporata, il tutto sotto un soffitto a volta. L’orafa crea i suoi gio-ielli ad hoc: “E‘ tutto nella mia testa“, dice. “Mi siedo al banco e inizio.” Se poi dalle sue mani esce un anello in filigrana, fatto di un unico filo d’oro, un paio d’orecchini con una pietra dura o una collana dipen-de dal materiale a disposizione e dall’ispi-razione della giornata.

1063 – wenn das Gold beginnt zu schmelzenAm liebsten mag sie champagnerfarbe-ne Diamanten. Klein und zart oder robust und auffallend. Gold in allen Farben, Silber oder auch Kupfer. Edel- und Halb-edelsteine. Keines der von Evi Klammer geschaffenen Schmuckstücke gleicht dem anderen. Die Schaufenster ihres kleinen Geschäftes, das „1063“ nach dem Schmelzpunkt des Goldes heißt, ziehen magisch an. Schmal sind sie, in Augen-höhe, wenige (Einzel)Stücke, die durch ihre Form bestechen. Auch die Architek- tur des reduzierten Verkaufsraums mit Laboratorium unter einem Tonnenge- wölbe ist einen Blick wert. Die ge- lernte Goldschmiedin kreiert ad hoc. „Ich habe alles im Kopf, setze mich an meinen Arbeitstisch und fange an.“ Ob es dann ein Ring aus zartem Gold-draht, ein paar Ohrringe mit gefasstem Stein oder eine Kette wird, hängt vom Materialbestand ab und von der Tages-façon.

The display window of her small shop called ‘1063’, because that is the melting temperature of gold, is very pleasing to the eye: narrow, at eye-height, just a few unique pieces which stand out for their wonderful design. Also the architecture of the shop-cum-labora-tory, with its beautiful barrel-vaulting, is worth a look. The master-goldsmith Evi Klammer creates her jewellery ad hoc “I’ve got everything in my head, I just sit at my workbench and start”. Whether it becomes a ring made of fine gold-thread, a pair of earrings with inlaid precious stones, or a chain – it all depends on what materials are to hand and on the fashion of the day.

Kultur ohne Grenzen. Theater ist in Bozen ein Luxus. Nicht, weil es unbezahlbar ist, sondern weil die Bozner das Glück haben, gleich zwei hochwertige Theater unter einem Dach zu haben. Die Intendanten Irene Girkinger (VBB) und Walter Zambaldi (TSB) im Gespräch über ihre Spielpläne und wie man (Theater)spielend Hürden überwinden kann.

Sie ist 39, er 40. Ein Zeichenfür einen Generationswechsel, ein Zeichen für neue Energie und neue Impulse. Für beide ist Theater vor allem ein Spie-

gel der Gesellschaft und daher arbeiten sie die Realität künstlerisch auf, um sie dem Publikum in Form von Reflexionen, Bildern, Gesten und Worten vorzuhalten.Irene Girkinger ist Oberösterreicherin und somit unbeeinflusst von der lokalen politischen Situation. Über den eigenen Tellerrand hinausschauen, lokale und grenzüberschreitende Netzwerke auf-bauen und eine Brücke schlagen zwischen der deutschen und italienischen Bevölke-rung sind ihr seit ihrem Amtsantritt in Bozen 2012 ein großes Anliegen. Walter Zambaldi ist zwar Bozner, war aber die letzten zehn Jahre in der Emilia Roma-gna tätig und kann einen Blick von außen auf Südtirol werfen. Das Überwinden der ethnischen und sprachlichen Grenzen sieht er als eine der Aufgaben der Thea-terarbeit. Die kommende Spielsaison ist seine erste in Bozen.Auch die Slogans, die beide Theater für die kommende Saison gewählt haben, gleichen sich. “Nichts wie hin” heißt es bei den Vereinigten Bühnen, “Meglio an-dare a teatro – Besser ins Theater gehen” jener des Teatro Stabile.

Die Produktion „Bombenjahre”, die im Februar uraufgeführt wird, richtet sich ganz bewusst an ein gemischtes Publi-kum und auch an jene, die Südtirol nur besuchen. Ein neuer und unverfälschter Blick auf dieses schwierige Kapitel der Südtiroler Geschichte. „Oh, wie schön ist Panama”, das Ende November auf die Bühne geht, ist ein zweisprachiges Kinderstück von Janosch. Im Januar werden die VBB zum ersten Mal ein Stück von Nobelpreisträgerin Elfriede Je-linek aufführen, “Die Schutz-befohlenen”. Ein Stück, das die aktuelle brennnende Flüchtlings-diskussion aufgreift. Ebenfal-ls an ein zweisprachiges Publikum richtet sich die „Cult.urnacht“ am 14. November, freier Eintritt, interessante Beiträge in beiden Landessprachen und abschließen-des Clubbing. Walter Zambaldi beginnt seine erste Spielsaison sozusagen mit einem Pau-kenschlag. Der bekannte italienische Schauspieler Paolo Rossi in Molières „La recita di Versailles - Das Stegreifspiel von Versailles”, ein Stück, das in ganz Italien auf Tournée gehen wird. „Father and son” mit Claudio Bisio, „Enrico IV – Heinrich IV“ mit Franco Branciaroli und das expe-rimentelle Theaterfestival “Altri Percorsi – Andere Wege” richten sich ebenfalls an ein sowohl italienisch - als auch deutsch-sprachiges Publikum.

In Bolzano theatre is a luxury. Not in the sense that it is unafforda-ble, but rather because the people of Bolzano are lucky to have not just one, but two high-quality theatres. The general theatre direc-tors Irene Girkinger (VBB) and Walter zambaldi (TSB) discuss their theatre programmes and how theatre can help overcome barriers.

She’s 39, he’s 40, indicative of a generational change, of fresh ener-gy and new impulses. For both, theatre is a reflection of society and so they attempt to artistically enhance reality and to present it to the public in the form of reflections, pictures, gestures and words.Irene Girkinger is from Upper Austria and hence unaffected by the local political situation. For her it is important that people expand their horizons, that they build up local and trans-boundary net-works and build bridges between the German and the Italian-spea-king world. Walter Zambaldi is originally from Bolzano but has just spent 10 years in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, so he too has a more distanced view of South Tyrol. He sees the breaking down of ethnic and linguistic barriers as one of his tasks as a theatre director. This coming season will be his first in Bolzano.Also the slogans that each has chosen for the coming season are similar: „Nichts wie hin“ (Don’t hesitate, go!) and „Meglio andare in teatro – Besser ins Theater gehen“ (Better to go to the theatre).The theatre production „Bombenjahre“ (the years of the bomb at-tacks), which will be premiered in February, is consciously aimed at a mixed public, local German and Italian-speakers plus visi-tors. It will attempt to give a fresh view of this difficult period of South Tyrol’s history. „Oh, wie schön ist Panama“, a bilingual play for children, will be performed as from the end of November. The VBB will put on a play by the Nobel laureate Elfriede Jelinek for the first time: „Die Schutz-befohlenen“ (The subjects), a play that deals with the highly-topical theme of refugees and migrants. Lei ha 39 anni, lui 40. E già questo significa qualco-sa: nuove energie creative, ricambio generazionale. Entrambi, poi, concepiscono il teatro come specchio della società e dunque indagano soprattutto la

realtà di oggi per restituirla allo spettatore sotto forma di arte, di riflessione, di immagine, di parola. Irene Girkinger è la direttrice delle VBB – Vereinigte Bühnen Bozen, Walter Zambaldi il direttore del TSB – Teatro Stabile di Bolzano e per il nostro territorio sono un lusso: lei viene da Vienna e dunque non è contaminata dalle piccinerie della politica locale, lui è di Bolzano ma viene da dieci anni di teatro in Emilia e dunque ha elaborato uno sguardo esterno da ag-giungere ad una naturale propensione al superamento di barriere etniche e linguistiche.Anche per questo, gli spettacoli che propongono nei loro cartelloni rappresentano un valore aggiunto nel pacchet-to culturale che Bolzano offre ai propri ospiti. Irene Girkinger suggerisce “Bombenjahre”, il lavoro che in febbraio proporrà uno sguardo nuovo sugli anni delle bombe in Alto Adige: “L’attenzione alla realtà locale può interessare anche a chi arriva da fuori. L’importante è uti-lizzare un particolare per arrivare a un concetto universale. Fra gli altri spettacoli che proporrei tranquillamente sia a un pubblico tedesco sia a uno italiano, “Oh, wie schön ist Panama” spettacolo bilingue a fine novembre per i bam-bini, “Glorious” commedia su una cantante USA, arrivata al successo benché stonata, e in gennaio “Die Schutz-befohlenen” di Elfriede Jelinek, autrice premiata col Nobel che arriva qui per la prima volta: lavoro attualissimo per-ché racconta di un gruppo di migranti. E poi consiglierei a tedeschi, italiani e turisti la Cult.urnacht che quest’anno,

il 14 novembre, sarà per la prima volta in due lingue. E a ingresso libero, con clubbing finale”.Zambaldi gioca subito un asso: “Il Molière con Paolo Rossi che aprirà la stagione il 5 novembre offre anche ai turisti la chance di assistere alla prima di uno spettacolo che circui-terà in tutt’Italia. E poi fra dicembre e febbraio consiglierei sia a italiani sia a tedeschi “Father and son” con Bisio, “En-rico IV” con Branciaroli e il minifestival Altri Percorsi che dal 3 al 13 febbraio proporrà quattro fortissimi spettacoli di ricerca”.

PUR SÜDTIROL è sinonimo di qualità regio-nale. Tra i tantissimi prodotti in vendita nei negozi a Bolzano, Merano e Brunico sono una particolarità le varie tipologie di pasta fatta a mano. Dal 2013 sotto l’attenta guida dell’esperto panificatore Alexander Gross vengono pro-dotte diverse fantasie di pasta “Pastalpina” realizzate con farine integrali e miscele di fa-rine di grani locali e di origine biologica: gra-no duro, grano saraceno, farro monococco e varietà tipiche dell’Alto Adige come la segale e grani più antichi. In particolare viene usato molto il “Regiogra-no”, coltivato esclusivamente in Val Venosta, Valle Isarco, Val Pusteria e Val Badia. Grazie a un progetto sostenuto dal TIS innovation parc per rilanciare la coltivazione del grano in Alto Adige, oggi si raccolgono, infatti, ben 240 tonnellate di Regiograno. Tutte le fasi di produzione della pasta sono seguite personalmente da Alexander Gross: dalla macinazione del grano, alla lavorazio-ne dell’impasto, l’essiccatura e la confezione. L’assortimento è vasto e comprende diverse varietà dalle tagliatelle alla pasta corta. I prodotti Pastalpina si trovano nei mercati dei sapori di Bolzano, Merano e Brunico, cosí come in negozi specializzati.

PUR SÜDTIROL steht für qualitativ hochwer-tige Produkte aus Südtirol. Eine Besonderheit im Sortiment sind seit 2013 die verschiede-nen Südtiroler Nudeln und Teigwaren. Die Manufaktur „Pastalpina“ verarbeitet un-ter der Leitung des Lananer Bäckermeisters Alexander Gross diverse Getreidearten zu köstlichen Nudeln und Grissini. Pastalpina bringt Vollwertnudeln auf den Markt, bei denen das ausschließlich aus biologischer Landwirtschaft stammende Getreide frisch vermahlen verwendet wird. Es wird regionales oder zum Teil aus dem al-pinen Raum stammendes Mehl verwendet, von Hartweizen, Buchweizen und Dinkel zu regionalen Besonderheiten wie Roggen und alte Kornsorten. Ein besonderes Augen-merk legt Pastalpina dabei auf das Einkorn, was eine Urform des heutigen Weizens ist. Zwar beschert das Einkorn nur geringe Er-träge (wie der Name schon verrät, nur ein Korn pro Ährchen), doch kann es durch seine besondere Eiweißzusammensetzung eine gute Alternative bei bestehenden Unverträ-glichkeiten darstellen.Für die Herstellung von Pastalpina Nudeln findet auch das „Regiokorn“ Verwendung. Es stammt ausschließlich aus Südtirol mit den Anbaugebieten des Vinschgau, dem Pustertal, dem Eisacktal und dem Gadertal. In den vergangenen Jahrzehnten gab es ei-nen starken Rückgang beim Getreideanbau. Dank des vom TIS innovation parc geleite-ten Projektes „Regiokorn“ werden heute in Südtirol auf 70 Hektar insgesamt 240 Ton-nen Getreide (Roggen und Dinkel) angebaut, von einheimischen Mühlen gemahlen und auch von Südtiroler Bäckern verarbeitet. Sämtliche Pastalpina-Nudeln, Grissini und Brote sind im Bozner Genussmarkt Pur Südtirol und in den Geschäftsstellen von Meran und Bruneck erhältlich, sowie im gut sortierten Fachhandel.

PUR SÜDTIROL stands for top-quality prod-ucts from South Tyrol and local varieties of pasta have been on sale since 2013.The ‘Pastalpina’ manufactory uses differ-ent types of grain to make exquisite pasta and grissini, the pencil-sized sticks of crisp bread found in every Italian restaurant. Pastalpina’s wholemeal pasta is made ex-clusively with organic, freshly-milled grains.The flour used is regionally-sourced, in part from high up in the mountains, using durum wheat, buckwheat, spelt and rye. Pastalpina also uses einkorn, a primitive form of wheat which has a low yield (as its name implies, just one corn per ear), but due to its special protein composition, it’s a good alternative for people with in-tolerances to other forms of wheat.Also ‘regiokorn’ is used in the making of Pastalpina pasta, a cereal grown exclusively in South Tyrol, primarily in the Vinschgau, Pustertal, Eisacktal and Badia valleys. Auf dem Weg zum Weihnachtsmarkt kommt man direkt daran vorbei: das Palais Menz am Musterplatz und der hintere Eingang des Merkantilmuseums in der Silbergasse, Austragungsorte von zwei interessanten Ausstellungen.


AL MERCATINO DI NATALE DI BOLZANO C’È ANCHE LA

GRANDE CULTURA

Al Mercatino di Natale ci si nutre di cultura. Approda a Bolzano la mostra “A tavola con Bacco”, ospite nella prestigiosa cornice di Palazzo Menz. La mostra, che si terrà dal 12 novembre 2015 al 10 gennaio 2016, propone

ben 81 opere originali di arte incisoria e dedicate al tema del cibo e del vino. In esposizione artisti di spicco come Dürer, Carracci e Raimondi. Le opere abbracciano un pe-riodo che va dalla fine XV secolo a tutto il XX e sono per la maggior parte inchiostrate a nero, sebbene alcune siano dipinte a mano. Nel palazzo si potrà ammirare, oltre ai pre-ziosissimi affreschi di Carl Henrici, anche una Madonna della Ghiara realizzata dal famoso pittore barocco Guerci-no all’età di 13 anni. L’opera, quasi inedita, è conosciuta da pochi estimatori. Ben più nota la pala d’altare esposta nel convento dei Domenicani e commissionata nel 1655 dal Magistrato Mercantile di Bolzano. Proprio a Palazzo Mercantile, sulla scia della mostra “Beni e vite per la patria! La Grande guerra e la Camera di com-mercio di Bolzano”, prolungata fino ad agosto 2016, nasce invece l’esposizione dedicata ai preziosi manifesti del col-lezionista viennese Erik Eybl. “La guerra sui muri” è costi-tuita da 44 opere realizzate da importanti cartellonisti e legata a tematiche che, raccolte in quattro sezioni, illustra-no i temi che la “pubblicità di guerra” voleva rappresenta-re: l’inizio della guerra e i personaggi di spicco, i prestiti di guerra, i soldati e infine la propaganda e il desiderio di pace.

Der Titel einer Ausstellung im Palais Menz, die auch im Rahmen von EXPO 2015 in Mailand ausgestellt worden ist, lautet „Zu Tisch mit Bacchus“. Bis 10. Januar sind dort über achtzig vornehmlich schwarz-

weiß gehaltene Stiche von Künstlern wie Dürer, Carracci oder Raimondi ausgestellt. Das Thema, wie der Titel der Ausstellung schon vorwegnimmt: Wein und Speisen im Laufe der Jahrhunderte, vom 15. Jahrhundert bis in die Gegenwart. Bei einem Besuch im Palais Menz sollte man übrigens nicht vergessen, einen Blick auf die wertvollen Wandmalereien von Carl Henrici bzw. auf das Frühwerk des erst 13-jährigen Barockmalers Guercino „Madonna della Ghiera“ zu werfen. Im Merkantilmuseum wurde die anlässlich des hun-dertsten Jahrestages des Ausbruchs des Ersten Weltkrie-ges die Ausstellung „Gut und Leben für das Heimatland“ aufgrund des großen Besucherandranges verlängert. Zu sehen sind 44 Plakate von bekannten zeitgenössischen Illustratoren aus der Sammlung des Wieners Erik Eybl. Die Themen dieser Plakate sind Propaganda, Kriegsauf-

bruchstimmung und berühmte Zeitgenossen, die Kriegs- anleihen sowie Soldaten und Sehnsucht nach dem Fri-eden. Interessant ist hier besonders der Vergleich der österreich-ungarischen Propaganda und der italienischen sowie die Tatsache, dass der Krieg selbst Tabu ist.

Le locandine, nate come mezzo di diffusione di avvisi e comunicazioni di guerra, sono quindi divenute ben presto tramite ideale per la divulgazione di ideali di appartenen-za e di messaggi populistici che spesso, con la guerra, ave-vano poco a che fare. Interessante inoltre il confronto tra i manifesti dell’impero austro-ungarico e quelli italiani in esposizione, che evidenziano come gli artisti dei due stati interpretavano e rappresentavano gli stessi temi. A corre-do della mostra che avrà luogo dal 10 novembre 2015 al 9 gennaio 2016, verrà pubblicato un catalogo con la scheda-tura dei manifesti esposti e la biografia degli illustratori più famosi.

You pass right by them on the way to the Christ-mas market: the Menz Palace in the Muster-platz and the back entrance to the Mercantile Museum in the Silbergasse. Each of these two

beautiful buildings hosts an interesting exhibition. „At Bacchus‘ Table“ in Palais Menz is an exhibition of over 80 mainly black and white engravings by artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Carracci and Raimondi, a display originally shown at the EXPO 2015 in Milan and now to be seen in Bolzano until 10 January. As the name suggests, the theme is wine and feasting over the centuries, from the 1400’s to the present. While in Palais Menz, don’t forget to look out for the frescoes by Carl Henrici or the early work of the then 13-year-old Baroque painter Guercino, his ‚Madonna della Ghiera‘.

To commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of WW1, the Mercantile Museum has extended the exhibition „Krieg auf den Mauern“ (War on the Walls). The exhibition features 44 posters from the Erik Eybl collection in Vien-na of famous contemporary illustrators. The themes dealt with are propaganda, the initial euphoria at the outbreak of war, government war loans, soldiers and the longing for peace. What is interesting here is the juxtaposition of Austro-Hungarian and Italian propaganda and that the theme of the fighting itself was taboo.

città, a New York, a Los Angeles o a Miami. Miami è diventata la seconda residenza di Robert Pan,

l’artista bolzanino di fama internazionale le cui opere coprono le pareti di tante gallerie e anche musei.

Grande è anche il suo studio di Miami. 500 m2 e 6 metri di altezza. Pan lavora con resi-ne, resine che mette strato dopo strato su griglie in metallo. I lavori più piccoli misu-rano 50x50 cm, i più grandi 400x300 cm.

In Europa solo i musei possono ospitare opere così impo-nenti, negli Stati Uniti invece vanno bene per la parete del salotto o della stanza da letto. Questione di dimensioni. Strato dopo strato Pan copre i master di resina. Per poi sfregare via. Aggiungere ancora e sfregare di nuovo. Strato dopo strato, finché arriva il momento dove tutto è perfetto e non occorre più nulla. Il suo è un lavoro da operaio dell’arte. Le sue grosse mani ne portano i segni. I suoi strumenti sono frese, arrotatrici... Robert Pan nasce infatti come scultore, uscito dall’Acca-demia delle Belle Arti di Urbino. Da giovane ha iniziato a lavorare con cera, vetro e oro fino ad arrivare alle resine. Agli strati.Lo studio è anche spazio vitale. Una roulotte airstream co-lor alluminio, oggetto cult degli anni 50, è la stanza per gli ospiti. In un angolo ci sono divani, un letto, un frigorifero americano e un lavandino. E perché gli Stati Uniti? Perché Miami? „Una simpatia di-ventata amicizia e poi ragioni tecniche”, spiega Pan. “Ho bisogno del calore per poter lavorare bene le resine.” Ecco che allora Pan lavora da ottobre a giugno a Miami e in estate nel suo studio di Bolzano. Anche quello non proprio

di piccole dimensioni.„L’Alto Adige è bellissimo“, dice Pan. “Ma sentivo il bisogno di una nuova sfida.” Iniziare da zero. Per attrezzare lo stu-dio ci è voluto un anno e mezzo, e ancora più difficile è stato creare una rete di contatti.Il successo non si è fatto attendere. Le opere di Robert Pan parlano un linguaggio internazionale. Transcontinentale. Blu. Rosso. Verde. Arancione. Giallo. Bianco. .. E tutto quello che si trova in mezzo. Un’incredibile intensità cromatica. Piene di luce. Lisce al tatto. Le sue opere multistrato sono inconfondibili. Quadrati o rettangoli di diverse dimensioni che emanano la forza del colore e della materia. Belle an-che da toccare. In America Robert Pan collabora con due gallerie importanti ed è presente in entrambe le grandi fiere dell’arte: New York e Miami. E anche per quanto riguarda l’american way of life, Pan ha trovato la sua dimensione. “Si dice che gli americani sia-no superficiali; per me questa sorta di indeterminatezza corrisponde ad una grande libertà. Mi sento libero nell’ano-nimato.” Vive in modo appartato a Miami così come fa anche a Bolzano. Si sente radicato a Bolzano ma usa Mia-mi, un vero melting pot di diverse culture, per procurarsi nuovi stimoli. Una città che non potrà però mai sostituirsi a Bolzano. Volutamente Pan ha chiesto solo un “visto 01”, il lasciapassare che dà diritto agli artisti di vivere e lavorare negli Stati Uniti per tre anni. Cosa verrà dopo sarà questio-ne solo di ispirazione.

500 m2 groß ist sein Atelier in Miami. Pan arbei-tet mit Harzen und Metallgittern, die kleinsten sind 50 x 50 cm, die größten 400 x 300 cm. In Europa ist das Museumsformat, in den USA hängt man sich so etwas ins Wohnzimmer.

Andere Dimensionen. Schicht um Schicht trägt Pan das Harz auf seine Master auf. Quadratische oder rechteckige Metallgitter. Schleift alles glatt. Trägt wieder auf. Baut die Materie auf und zieht sie dann wieder ab. Solange bis er das Gefühl hat, das ist es. Seine Arbeit ist Handwerk. Seine großen Hände tragen die Zeichen dieser Arbeit. Seine Kunst-Werkzeuge, sind Fräsen und Schleifmaschinen. Von der Ausbildung her ist Robert Pan Bildhauer. In jungen Jahren hat er mit Wachs, Glas und Gold gearbeitet, bis er zum Harz gefunden hat. In einer Ecke stehen Couch, Bett, ein Waschbecken, ein amerikanischer Kühl-schrank ...

USA. Dort wo alles größer, bunter, hippiger ist … Oder? Nicht überall, nicht auf dem Land, aber auf jeden Fall in Städten wie Miami, New York oder Los Angeles. Robert Pans derzeitige Wahlheimat ist Miami. Der gebürtige Bozner ist ein interna-tional erfolgreicher Künstler, dessen großformatige Skulpturen-Bilder Galerien und Museen füllen.

Warum USA und warum Miami? „Eine Sympathie, die mittlerweile Freundschaft ist und technische Gründe; ich brauche Wärme, um das Harz verarbeiten zu können.“ Deshalb arbeitet Robert Pan von Oktober bis Juni in Miami, die Sommermonate verbringt er in seinem Atelier in Bozen. Auch das ist nicht gerade klein. „Es ist wunderschön in Südtirol“, betont Pan, „aber ich hatte das Gefühl, I need a change. Eine neue Herausforde-rung.“ Alles neu aufbauen. Von vorne anzufangen. Einein-halb Jahre hat er gebraucht, um sein Atelier in Miami ein-zurichten, alle Materialien und Maschinen anzuschaffen. Kontakte zu knüpfen. Der Erfolg hat nicht auf sich warten lassen. Pans Schichten-Werke sprechen eine internationale, eine interkontinenta-le Sprache. Blau. Rot. Orange. Grün. Weiß und alles, was dazwischen ist. Intensiv. Leuchtend. Glatt. Zum Anfassen. Er arbeitet für zwei große Galerien und ist auf den zwei wichtigen amerikanischen Messen vertreten: Miami-Art und New York Art. Ist in Kontakt mit großen Kunstsamm-lungen. Und der american way of life? „Man sagt den Amerika-nern Oberflächigkeit nach; ich fühle mich wohl in dieser Unverbindlichkeit. Fühle mich frei.“ Zurückgezogen lebt Pan in Miami wie in Bozen. Aber irgendwie ist es dort doch anders. „Ich bin in Bozen verwurzelt, aber ich suche neue Impulse und die kann ein melting pot wie Miami bieten.“ Eine Stadt, die Bozen aber nicht auf Dauer ersetzen wird. Pan hat ein 01-Künstlervisum. Drei Jahre kann er dort le-ben und arbeiten. Das Danach wartet auf Inspiration.

The USA. Where everything is bigger, brasher, hippier ... Or is it? Not everywhere, perhaps not in the countryside, but certainly in cities like Miami, New York or Los Angeles. Robert Pan, a native of Bolzano, is currently based in Miami. He’s an internationally-renowned artist, whose large-format sculptures/pictures fill art-galleries and museums.


His Miami art studio is huge: 500m2. Pan works with resins and metal mesh, of which the smallest are 50 x 50 cm and the biggest 400 x 300 cm. In Europe these big-ger pieces would fit into museums but in

the States they can grace front rooms of private houses. Other dimensions. Pan applies the resin layer by layer onto his square or rectangular metal grilles. Then he sands the surface smooth before applying yet another layer of resin, until he feels he has reached the finished product.His work is a craft and his large hands show the signs of his work. His craft tools are milling and sanding machines. Robert Pan trained as a sculptor, in his early years working with wax, glass and gold before discovering resins.The art studio in Miami is also where he lives: there’s a 1950’s aluminium-airstream caravan which serves as a living-room, with a sofa, a bed, a washbasin and an Ameri-can fridge in the corner ...Why the USA and why Miami? “My liking for the city developed into a friendship, but there are also technical reasons, as I need the warmth to work with resins.” So Robert Pan works in Miami from October to June but spends the summer months in his none-too-small art studio in Bolzano.

“South Tyrol is really beautiful”, he stresses, “but I felt I needed a change, a new challenge”. Starting from scratch again – it took him one and a half years to kit out his art studio in Miami, to procure all his machines and his raw materials, and to establish new contacts.It wasn’t long before he was successful. Pan’s layered works of art speak an international, an inter-continental language. Blue. Red. Orange. White. And everything in between. Intensive. Bright. Smooth. Hands-on. He works for two large art-galleries and his work is to be found at the two important American art fairs: Miami-Art and New York Art, and is networked with many large art collections.And the American way of life? “People say Americans are superficial – but I feel well in this non-comittal detach-ment. I feel free. He lives a bit reclusively in both Miami and Bolzano. But somehow Miami is different. “My roots are in Bolzano but I seek new impulses and that is what a melting-pot like Miami has to ofer.” A city that will not take the place of Bolzano. Pan has an O1 artist’s visa. He can live and work there for 3 years. What happens after-wards only time will tell.
