Visito to the “Antonio de Nino” Archaeological museum 11:30 Visit to the Cathedral of San Pelino and nearby archaeological site (roman city) 12:30 Transfer to Capestrano, lunch at Azienda Agricola “Collerotondo” Afterwards,visit to nearby church of S. Pietro ad Oratorium. 15:30 Transfer to Bominaco and visit to the monastic complex of the Oratory of S. Pellegrino and S.M. Assunta17:30 “Afternoon Tea” in Caporciano, near church of S. Pietro18:30 Departure to Roma with expected tim of arrival 20:30

Corfinium Corfinio, a city of the Peligni population, it was the capital of the Italic League during the “social war” against Rome. The coin where the word Italy appeared for the first time was minted here. Within the same site, the church of San Pelino, inaugurated in 1124, “con-cathedral” of the Diocesis of Valva.

S.Pietro ad Oratorium Church, “founded by king Desiderius, renewed in 1100 AD” , as the inscription recites, got its current romanesque forms four centuries after its foundation. On the facade, a sculpted stone block carries a 5 word palindrome: rotas opera tenet arepo sator.

BominacoFraction of Caporciano, the ancient Momenaco is reknown for its benedectine churches, Santa Maria

Assunta and San Pellegrino, which in the Middle Age were part of one monastic complex, contended between the monastery of Farfa and the Diocesis of Valva. Santa Maria Assunta presents interesting frescoes, but even more notable are the sculpted decorations, in particular a pulpit dated 1180 .The Oratory of San Pellegrino, possibly founded by Charlemagne, contains frescoes from the XIIIth century. Most notable that representing a monastic calendar.S.Pietro in Valle - CaporcianoLocated in a little valley, whose woods embrace it, the church has been dated for the first half of the XIIIth century. The presence of roman material is evidence of a much older, pre existing, roman building whose remains are possibly underneath the present church.
