Smt. Vasundhara RajeHon'ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan

CHIEF GUEST

The first ever female Chief Minister of Rajasthan Her Excellency Smt.Vasundra Raje hardly needs any introduction. A magnanimous figure sharing her date of birth with International Women's Day observed on the 8th of March, justifiably represents women's empowerment.

A true blue blood princess, she is the daughter of the last reigning Maharaja of Gwalior Jivaji Rao Scindia (pre- independence) and Rajamata Vijayaraje Scindia, who was a political leader in the post-independence India. Hence her passion for political leadership runs in the blood. Having finished her schooling at Presentation Convent , Kodaikanal,Tamil Nadu, she graduated with honors in Political Science & Economics from Sofia College, Mumbai.

Charismatic & dynamic she is a go – getter who received the “Women Together Award” by UNO for services rendered towards self-empowerment of women.

It is credited to her inborn leadership that she won four successive Lok Sabha elections from Jhalawar. She has also graced the position of Union Minister of state, External Affairs in 1998-99. She has to her credit handling of different departments from pensions to small scale industries & Atomic Energy & Space . She is a perfectionist in every sphere.

At present she is heading the state governance in the capacity of the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

Such an iconic persona can be summarized in the words of Maya Angelou -

"I am a woman , phenomenally

DR. SHASHI THAROORHon'ble Member of Parliament and Author

An author, a politician, and a former international civil servant, Dr. Shashi Tharoor straddles several worlds of experience. Currently a second-term Lok Sabha MP representing the Thiruvananthapuram

constituency and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, he has previously served as Minister of State for Human Resource Development and Minister of State for External Affairs in the Government of India. During his nearly three-decade long prior career at the United Nations, he served as a peacekeeper, a refugee worker, and an administrator at the highest levels, serving as the Under-Secretary General during Kofi Annan's leadership of the organisation. Dr. Tharoor is also an award-winning author of works of both fiction as well as non-fiction, with his sixteenth book due for release in November 2017.

Sardar Jasbir Singh Chairman, Rajasthan State Commission for Minorities

Sardar Jasbir Singh was born in Darbanga, Bihar on 1st September 1956. Having completed his graduation in Arts stream, he pursued Law with super specialty. Being the ardent promoter of unity and integrity of India, he has chosen the land of warriors – Rajasthan to be his workplace.

Having participated in various prestigious National & International forums, Mr. Singh has been on a mission to propagate Indian philosophy and its global vision of unity and integrity. It is noteworthy that his worthy opinion got published in prestigious foreign journals as well.

Be it encouraging mutual harmony or promoting educational pursuits and solving the various challenges faced by the common folk, he has always been at the forefront, ready to impart his share of service with dedication and sincerity.

Presently, he is serving in the capacity of Chairman of Rajasthan State Commission for Minorities and stands as a role model for the upcoming generations.

CURRENT POSITION:

Founder Director of Centre for Connection Education and Management and retired Professor and Head of the Department of English, University of Mumbai, India.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS:

Ÿ Dr. Vevaina has two Ph.D. degrees to her credit – one in Literature and the other in Education.

Ÿ She has published 9 books and 58 papers that have appeared in peer-reviewed national and international journals and critical anthologies.

Ÿ Several students have completed their Ph.D., M.Phil. and M.A. thesis and dissertations under her guidance.

Ÿ She has been declared as among the ten best Canadian critics in the world by the International Journal of Canadian Studies, Ottawa and has facilitated the establishment of Canadian Studies Centres in India and Europe.

DR. JUGAL KISHORE Secretary GeneralIndian Association for Adolescents Health.

Enhancement of health of adolescents through education, research, advancement of health promotion and health care for adolecents and youth. Researcher and promoter of cross cultural psychiatry and community mental health.

He is a medical educator and public health expert; born in a village of New Delhi in 1967. Had schooling from Jamia Milia Islamia university graduated in Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1990 and completed doctorate (MD) in Community Medicine from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He got the opportunity to develop department of Community Medicine in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal and the Center for Occupational & Environmental Health at Lok Nayak Hospital, New Delhi.

Professor Gunashekhar has conducted over a thousand teacher- training workshops in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Tanzania. He has attended symposium and conferences in UK, Holland, Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Nepal apart from India. He has several research publications, notably the DIRECTORY OF ELT Research in India, to his credit. He has also conducted courses in Business Communication, Communication Skills, Report Writing, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills for corporate houses.

Awarded Commonwealth Scholarship for ELT research in UK, Professor Gunashekhar specializes in materials development, course design, teacher development and English for specific Purposes. He edits the EFLU research journal Languaging. He is an advisor and Indian English consultant to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary and the Oxford English Dictionary.
