Alcuni cenni storiciAntico convento del 1600 incastonato nel pieno centro storico di Roma, tra piazza del Popolo e Piazza di Spagna, la Residenza di Ripetta è un superbo complesso architettonico dai tratti sobri ed essenziali, ideali per vivere a pieno il fascino della capitale e godere comodamente della sua ampia offerta culturale e gastronomica.

L’ edificio che oggi ospita il Residenza di Ripetta fu per secoli uno dei principali conservatori per «zitelle» della città. Il primo nucleo dell’ istituto, che diverrà noto come Conservatorio della Divina Provvidenza, risale al 1672, quando un religioso “dotato di buoni talenti e di vivace e generosa pietà” riunì in una casa alcune povere e oneste fanciulle, per “toglierle dal pericolo del mondo e conservare la loro pudicizia, fintanto che si trovasse l’opportunità di maritarle o di monacarle”.

A partire dal 1676 l’istituto si consolidò e si ingrandì grazie al sostegno del Pontefice Innocenzo XI di cui la Residenza di Ripetta conserva gelosamente, all’interno del salone principale, ex chiesa del convento, un mezzo busto marmoreo originale dell’epoca. Tra l’altro, nel 1682, il sommo Pontefice trasferì a beneficio del conservatorio la tassa che annualmente i mercanti di vino, legna e carbone e i “barcaroli” dell’ adiacente porto di Ripetta, erano soliti pagare per finanziare le corse delle barche e altri giochi che si svolgevano il giorno della festa di S. Rocco.

Nel 1828 l’istituto, comunque ampliatosi nel corso dei secoli, accolse anche le zitelle provenienti dal disciolto conservatorio di S. Pasquale Baylon e nel 1861 fu trasformato in educandato femminile, sotto la direzione delle suore di S. Dorotea.

Dopo aver corso il rischio nel 1870 di essere trasformato in caserma, nel 1876 venne riconosciuto come ente morale destinato all’ educazione di fanciulle orfane di condizione civile e, come tale, è sopravvissuto fino agli anni ‘50 del ‘900.

Oggi i custodi di questa storia siamo noi, Management e Staff della Residenza di Ripetta, lieti di condividere con i nostri graditi Ospiti tutto il fascino e la tranquillità della nostra Residenza.

Accanto agli antichi affreschi e alle affascinanti sculture che ricordano la storicità dell’Hotel, è esposta una sorprendente collezione di opere d’arte contemporanea che include pezzi dei celebri artisti Pomodoro e Sinisca.

Bar & Restaurant Cafè di RipettaLuogo perfetto per light snacks e cocktails; è il posto ideale per sorseggiare un tè pomeridiano. Dalle ore 12:00 alle ore 22:30 il nostro chef propone piatti veloci ma di genuina qualità. In serata, a lume di candela e luci soffuse, il nostro barman è a vostra disposizione per farvi provare la sua varietà di cocktails internazionali. Da Aprile a Ottobre vi accoglie presso il silenzioso Giardino di Ripetta; un incantevole oasi di relax nel centro della Città Eterna (aperto dalle ore 12:00 alle 22:30, servizio bar fino alle 01:00)Da Ottobre ad Aprile vi accoglie nel ricercato ed intimo ambiente del Cafè di Ripetta; luogo ideale del buon gusto romano (aperto dalle ore 12:00 alle ore 22:30, servizio bar fino alle 24:00).

È a Sua disposizione una vasta scelta di bibite, bevande alcoliche, snack e cioccolatini. La Residenza di Ripetta è dotata di un sistema di rilevamento antincendio sofisticato, che assicura ai nostri clienti un’ottima protezione durante il loro soggiorno.

In tutto l’edificio sono stati installati appositi rilevatori di fumo e luci d’emergenza, che entrano in funzione automaticamente in caso d’interruzione della corrente.

Disponiamo anche di estintori distribuiti in tutto l’hotel, vi preghiamo di dedicare qualche minuto alla lettura delle seguenti informazioni.

Dopo esservi sistemati in camera, è indispensabile che dedichiate qualche minuto ad ispezionare le vie di fuga.

Non esitate ad esaminare il piano d’evacuazione situato nei corridoi e nelle vostre camere.

ATTENZIONE: ricordate di non utilizzare mai gli ascensori in caso d’incendio.

Memorizzate alcuni punti di riferimento che vi aiuteranno a ricordare luoghi precisi tra la vostra camera e le vie d’emergenza, se la visibilità è scarsa o il corridoio è pieno di fumo questi punti vi saranno certamente utili.

Individuate anche la posizione degli allarmi nel vostro corridoio (rappresentati da una piccola scatola quadrata di colore rosso fissata alle pareti).

Se il corridoio vi sembra inaccessibile, è necessario che ricordiate bene la disposizione della vostra camera.

Se l’incendio divampa nella vostra camera, abbandonatela immediatamente assicurandovi di chiudere la porta dietro di voi ed eventualmente anche le finestre per evitare che le fiamme si propaghino e date l’allarme al più presto.

Così facendo sarà possibile dominare il focolaio nel più nel breve tempo possibile.

Se siete bloccati nella vostra camera, controllate se il telefono funziona, in tal caso contattate il centralino al numero 9 per far sapere che siete bloccati in camera e chiedete cosa fare.

Non pensiate comunque che la presenza di fumo vi impedisca di uscire; dato che il fumo caldo si concentra in alto, è necessario che vi abbassiate e potrete respirare allontanandovi fino a raggiungere l’uscita di sicurezza più vicina, malgrado tutto, non dimenticate che il fumo può essere tossico, quindi affrettatevi mantenendo la calma e senza lasciarvi prendere dal panico.

Se scoprite un incendio, componete il numero 9 e segnalate al centralinista la presenza di un focolaio.

Chiudete porte e finestre nei dintorni delle fiamme in modo tale da evitare che si propaghino, evitate di cercare di spegnerle e attivate l’allarme uscendo dall’edificio più in fretta possibile senza portarvi dietro i bagagli.

Incontri col gusto.

Ci sono eventi nella capitale che sono davvero imperdibili: fra questi si annovera sicuramente l’incontro con la “cucina pittorica” del ristorante Cafè di Ripetta American Bar & Restaurant, diretto dallo chef Rodolfo Chieroni. I suoi piatti sono vere opere d’arte nelle quali l’accostamento di gusti, colori e forme creano paesaggi del gusto indimenticabili.

Tutto questo in un contesto altrettanto artistico: una sala raffinata avvolta in preziose tonalità calde ed accoglienti arredata con mobili d’antiquariato, quadri antichi e comodi divanetti con cuscini. Il bar, collegato con il Ristorante, offre la scenografia ideale per una pausa di relax o un drink fra amici in un’atmosfera elegante e senza tempo.

A brief historyAncient convent of 17th century, nested in the heart of the historical centre of Rome, between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps, the Residenza di Ripetta is a superb architectural complex with sober and essential traits, ideal to enjoy the charme of the Capital and its wide cultural and gastronomic offer.

The building which nowadays houses the Residenza di Ripetta was for several centuries one of the main shelter for “sprinsters” of the city. The very first core of the institute, which will become famous as “Conservatorio della Divina Provvidenza” (shelter of Divine Providence), is dated 1672, when a religious “endowed with good talent and lively and generous compassion” gathered into the house some poor and honest young girls, in order to “keep them away from the dangers of the world and preserve their virtues, until the opportunity of either a marriage or becoming nuns”.

Starting from 1676, the Institute grew and enlarged thanks to the support of Pope Innocenzo XI, whose marble bust dated 17th century is jealously guarded by the Residenza di Ripetta, inside the main ballroom, former church of the convent. Also, in 1682, the Pope, donated to the shelter the annual taxes paid by the wine, wood and coal merchants and by the “barcaroli” (boatmen) of the adjacent Port of Ripetta, due for the boat rides and other games that took place during the day of the feast of St. Rocco.

In 1828 the Institute, already grown during the ages, accommodated also the sprinters of the former conservatory of St. Pasquale Baylon and in 1861 was converted into a female school, under the guidance of the nuns of St. Dorotea. In 1870, after risking the conversion into a barrack, in 1876 the institute was entitled a non-profit organization voted to the education of orphan young girls and it survived until 1950.

Nowadays we are the guardians of this history, the Management and the Staff of the Residenza di Ripetta, and we are proud to share with our Valued Guests all the charme and the tranquillity of our house.

Together with the ancient frescoes and the charming sculptures that remind the history of the Hotel, we also expose a surprising collection of contemporary pieces of art, including works by the artists Pomodoro and Sinisca.

The Residenza di Ripetta has a sophisticated fire alarm system which guarantees the highest level of protection for our guests during their stay.

Smoke detectors and emergency lights are present throughout the building and function even in case of a power outage.

Fire extinguishers have also been placed in many strategic locations throughout the hotel. For your safety, please dedicate a few minutes to reading the following emergency instructions.

After you have settled into your room, please also dedicate a few minutes to locating the emergency exit nearest to you.

Evacuation maps have been placed in every corridor and in your guest room for your inspection.

WARNING: in case of fire, do not use the lift.

Please memorize the various points of reference to help you to remember precise locations between your room and the emergency exit. In case of reduced visibility or the presence of smoke, they will help you to safety.

Please locate the fire alarms long the corridor to use in case of emergency (small red boxes on the wall).

If the corridor seems inaccessible it is important that you remember the layout of your room. Don’t forget that your door will hold back flames for at least 30 minutes.

If a fire flares up in your room, abandon the room immediately making sure to shut the windows and close the door behind you to prevent the fire from spreading. Set off the fire alarm nearest you as soon as possible.

If you are stuck in your room, check if the phone works. If it does, immediately contact the switchboard by dialing 9 to inform our staff that you are in your room and ask for further instructions.

The presence of smoke in the hallway should not prevent you from leaving your room. Hot smoke is concentrated at the top. By lowering yourself you will be able to breathe and reach the emergency exit nearest you. Although smoke can be toxic, do not panic, remain calm and leave the area as quickly as possible.

If you discover a fire, please dial 9 and inform the operator of the location of the fire.

Close the doors and windows around the fire to prevent it from spreading. Do not try to extinguish it yourself but set off the fire alarm nearest you before leaving the building as quickly as possible. Leave your luggage in the room.
