Potenzialità degli investimenti nel settore forestale
Mandato

a+b+c: preconditions for a portfolio strategyBenefits of planted forests inside portfolio:•Inflation hedging: the rate of returns from forests are positively correlated to inflation; •Low correlation with other asset classes: the rate of return on plantation investments is not correlated with returns on financial assets à decreases the overall risks;•Competitive risk-adjusted rates of return: historically plantation investments have provided appealing average returns in relation to their volatility, especially in emerging markets;•Green credentials: investment risks can increasingly be reduced through certification, showing that forests are managed sustainably.Source: Fu, 2012; Toppinen & Zhang, 2010

Timber vs. other assetsThe NCREIF Timberland Index is a quarterly time series composite return measure of investment performance of a large pool of individual timber properties acquired in the private market for investment purposes only.

about 10% of world voluntary traded carbon
more than 75% of the industrial timber

P.strobo, eucalitti, latifoglie di pregio, ...• Investimenti all’estero: pioppo e robinia in Est
privata (cooperazione internazionale, ONG)
