Mosaico+ intendesperimentare un significato della parola “mosaico” più ampio e contemporaneo. Il mosaico si trasforma in pattern, in cui ciò chepercepiamo come piccolo simodifica e moltiplica fino adare continuità alla superficie.

Mosaico+ experiments a wider and more contemporary meaning of the word “mosaic”. Mosaic is transformed into a pattern, something we conventionally view as “small”, which is processed, subdivided, modified and finally multiplied until it is completely integrated with what were once the joints between pieces, in a seamless surface.

MASSIMO NADALINI MARIALAURA ROSSIELLO - STUDIO IRVINE KENSAKU OSHIRO

Co-fondatore di Brix, azienda pioniera nell’ambito delle superfici per l’architettura, nel ruolo di product&communication manager, inizia la propria attività di direttore creativo e R&D counselor nel 2015.

Già responsabile del re-branding di Decoratori Bassanesi, collabora dal 2018 con Mosaico+ in qualità di direttore creativo.

Nel corso degli anni si occupa del designer recruitment e della R&D per le aziende con cui collabora, selezionando diversi progettisti tra i quali Jean Marie Massaud, Vincent Van Duysen, Nendo, Claudio Silvestrin, Paola Navone, Sebastian Herkner, Guglielmo Poletti, Andrée Putman, L+R Palomba, Naoto Fukasawa, Michael Anastassiades, Lex Pott, Piet Hein Eek, Keiji Takeuchi e altri. Si è occupato di design di prodotto progettando per Brix, Decoratori Bassanesi e Mosaico+.

Studio Irvine è uno studio di design con sede a Milano gestito dall’architetto Marialaura Rossiello Irvine. Fondato nel 1988 dal designer britannico James Irvine (1958-2013), lo studio rimane fedele al suo approccio progettuale e al suo metodo in una combinazione di ironia e precisione.

Basato sull’idea di design ispirata dall’attenzione all’etica, al “fattore umano” e all’interazione personale, Marialaura Rossiello ha una visione in costante evoluzione, radicata nei classici della scuola di design italiana ma con una visione internazionale più ampia. Per alcuni anni ha collaborato con marchi di design italiani e si è abituata a considerare il prodotto nell’ambito di un processo aziendale globale. Nel 2011 è diventata partner dello Studio Irvine, dove i prodotti industriali sono stati il cuore pulsante del design.

Oggi il suo lavoro è distintamente interdisciplinare con una grande curiosità verso tutti i tipi e dimensioni di progetti di design: design di prodotti, interni e strategici, con clienti come Muji, Yamakawa, Thonet, Offecct, Amorim, Matteo Brioni, Baleri Italia e altri..

Kensaku Oshiro è nato a Okinawa, in Giappone, nel 1977.

Dopo aver conseguito un Master in Disegno Industriale presso la Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano, inizia a collaborare con diversi studi finché, nel 2004, entra a far parte del team progettuale di Lissoni Associati col quale collabora fino al 2012. Successivamente si trasferisce a Londra per collaborare con lo studio BarberOsgerby. Nel giugno del 2015 fonda il suo studio a Milano. Ha partecipato a numerose mostre e concorsi ottenendo anche prestigiosi riconoscimenti a livello internazionale.

Nel 2016 è stato nominato EDIDA Young Designer Talent by Japan Edition e nel 2018 riceve il Rising Talent Award Maison&Objet Parigi. Tra le varie collaborazioni: Boffi, De Padova, Gan, Interiors, Kristalia, Ligne Roset, Mosaico+, Muji, Poltrona Frau, Viccarbe.

Co-founder and product&communication manager for Brix - a pioneer company in the field of surfaces for architecture- Massimo began his career as Creative Director and R&Dcounselor in 2015.

He has been responsible for Decoratori Bassanesi rebranding project and collaborates with Mosaico+ since 2018 as its Creative Director.

Massimo curates both designer recruitment and product R&D for the companies he works with, selecting numerous personalities such as: Jean Marie Massaud, Vincent Van Duysen, Nendo, Claudio Silvestrin, Paola Navone, Sebastian Herkner, Guglielmo Poletti, Andrée Putman, L+R Palomba, Naoto Fukasawa, Michael Anastassiades, Lex Pott, Piet Hein Eek, Keiji Takeuchi. Studio Irvine is a design studio based in Milan and run by the architect Marialaura Rossiello Irvine. Founded in 1988 by British designer James Irvine (1958-2013), the studio remains faithful to his design approach and method in a combination of irony and precision.

Based on the idea of design inspired by attention to ethics, the ‘human factor’ and personal interaction, Marialaura Rossiello is instilled with a vision in constant evolution, rooted in the classics of the Italian design school but with a broader international outlook. For a number of years, she collaborated with Italian design brands, and grew accustomed to consider the product within a comprehensive corporate process. In 2011 she became partner of Studio Irvine, where industrial products were the throbbing heart of design.

Today her work is distinctively cross-disciplinary with a great curiosity towards all types and scales of design projects: product, interior and strategic design, with clients such as Muji, Yamakawa, Thonet, Offecct, Amorim, Matteo Brioni, Baleri Italia, and others.

Kensaku Oshiro was born in Okinawa, Japan, in 1977.

After gaining a Master degree in Industrial Design at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan in 1999, he began working with various studios until 2004, when he joined the design team at Lissoni Associati where he worked until 2012. STICKS è ottenuto da lastre di materia pressata e tagliata nei diversi formati della collezione, caratterizzati anche da finiture superficiali diverse.

STICKS is a collection of through-body porcelain stoneware modules suitable for indoor and outdoor floor and wall coverings and pavings.

STICKS is made from slabs of pressed material cut into the various collection sizes, with different surface finishes.

TRADITION PATCHWORK STITCHING FREEDOM OF COMPOSITION DÉJÀ-VU

QUILT nasce da un quadrato 9x9 cm in grès porcellanato a tutta massa incisa in maniera da separare, una volta stuccato, uno spicchio dal resto della materia.

I quadrati 9x9 cm possono essere posati in maniera regolare per creare una sequenza di figure geometriche, o in maniera irregolare,ricordando un seminatocontemporaneo.

QUILT is produced as a 9x9 cm square of through-body porcelain stoneware scored so that a segment can be broken off from the rest of the material after grouting.

The 9x9 cm squares can be installed in a regular pattern to create a sequence of geometrical figures, or unevenly in a contemporary form of Venetian Seminato.

MIST vuole esplorare un nuovo modo di percepire il mosaico.

Le leggi di percezione visiva vengono manipolate, e così l’ordine visivo del pattern, ingannando l’occhio e dando alla superficie una più fluida continuità nello spazio.

In questo senso, due ordini di elementi – uno orizzontale, l’altro verticale –, grazie alle fughe differenti, si sovrappongono visivamente su due livelli, capaci di emergere a seconda dei punti di vista.

MIST sets out to explore a new way of perceiving mosaic.

The laws of visual perception, and the pattern’s visual order, are manipulated in a kind of trompe l’oeil, giving the surface a more seamless continuity through space.

Thanks to the different joint sizes, two orders of elements - one horizontal and theother vertical - are visuallyoverlapped on two levels; whichone the eye perceives willdepend on the viewpoint.
