Quando vidi la nuova collezione Tomtit, capii che dovevo catturarne l’anima più profonda... mettere in luce la trama delle ante di Tomtit, evidenziandone la particolarità, quasi fossero fatte di tessuto dai colori diversi. Per farlo decisi di esaltare l’arredo per il bagno disegnato da Compab ambientandolo in luoghi di rivalutazione architettonica.

As soon as I saw the new Tomtit collection, I knew instinctively that I needed to capture its very essence, to highlight the patterns of Tomtit’s doors and underline their uniqueness, almost as if they were made from different-coloured fabrics. To do this, I decided to highlight Compab’s bathroom furnishings by placing them in revaluation architectural settings.

È con questo nuovo linguaggio che l’architetto Richard Neutra (classe 1892) ha lasciato il segno nella storia dell’architettura moderna, tracciando le linee guida dell’abitare contemporaneo. DIFFERENZE: LEGNO IMPIALLACCIATO E NOBILITATOGentile Direttore, vorrei avere una spiegazione sulla differenza tra il legno impiallacciato e il nobilitato.Si tratta in entrambi i casi di derivati del legno, duttili e resistenti, capaci di risolvere qualsiasi problema strutturale, tecnico e di lavorazione. Il Nobilitato è un pannello di legno truciolare rivestito su di un lato, o su tutti e due i lati, con carta melamminica, che è un materiale sintetico costituito da fogli di carta sottilissima (attorno al decimo di mm) impregnata di resina melamminica. L’uso di tale carta fa sì che il pannello nobilitato venga spesso anche chiamato pannello melamminico (o melaminico). Il legno impiallacciato è invece costituita da un pannello la cui superficie è rivestita da fogli di “piallaccio”, detto anche “tranciato”. Si tratta di un sottile foglio di legno ottenuto attraverso una tranciatura del tronco.

Per quanto riguarda le modularità, sì, in base al modello scelto, cambiano soprattutto le altezze.

A POWER SOCKET ON THE WAP?Dear Director, I would like to thank you for your work in bringing attractive and practical design into our homes, but I have one question: is it possible to fit a power socket to the bottom of the WAP mirror? WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “VENEERED” AND “MELAMINE-LINED” WOOD?Dear Director, please explain the difference between veneered and melamine-lined wood.In both cases, the support consists of a wood-based panel which is strong and pliable, and is the ideal solution to any structural, technical and processing requirement. Melamine-lined panels are lined on one or both sides with a layer of melaminic laminate - a synthetic material consisting of extremely thin sheets of paper (just tenths of a millimetre in thickness) impregnated with melamine resin. The appliance of this type of paper coating to a fibreboard support is sometimes referred to as a “ lined panel”. Veneered wood, on the other hand, comprises a panel whose surfaces are lined with very thin slices ‘peeled’ from trunks of real wood.
