The PBJ (Pumps, Bumps & Jumps) is our dirt jump specific hardtail with more relaxed geometry for bigger lines at higher speeds. The PBJ looks were inspired by old school BMX frames with a taller seat tube for a balanced look. A slacker head angle and lower bottom bracket add stability and increase your confidence. If you love riding big trails the PBJ is the bike you have been looking for.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSThe PBJ is built to inspire confidence on big jumps deep in the forest. Short chainstays, low bottom bracket and a moderately slack head angle keep you comfortable on big lines. Anything that involves beer drinking, cow bells and, turning yourself inside out in the worst condition imaginable, we fully support. After several years racing the classic PNW races, we’ve taken a few things learned out there in the mud to develop our own race bred shredding machine called the Rapture. We believe that “steel is real” and in “one ring, suffer-ring.” but if you’re into more gears we’ve got you covered too. Our custom designed swinging dropout allows for singlespeed or geared builds. The system also allows for quick singlespeed wheel changes on race day which eliminates the need for a pit bike. Other features include a 44mm tapered fork compatible headtube and clean internal cable routing. We’ll leave the choice to wear a skin-suit or crazy costume up to you, but when it comes to getting from point A to B over mixed terrain as fast as possible, we’ve proven with multiple wins that the Rapture is a force to be reckoned with.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSWe have a few employees that have been die hard cyclocross racers, mostly in the rugged singlespeed category. We even host one of the local series races at our shop each year, and it’s usually one of the gnarliest courses featuring skinnies, jumps, sand traps and small lake crossings. The Rapture is cyclocross done the Transition way. The swinging dropout system keeps everything tidy, but allows for both geared or singlespeed builds with fast wheel changes. The versatile Rapture is sold as a frame and fork combo only since there are too many different ways to build it up. The Rapture is equally rad as a singlespeed with riser bars, geared bike with drop bars or anything in between. For 2015 we have updated the sizing with an added 10mm of length on the M, L and XL sizes. The rest of the race proven geometry remains the same.

The TR500 is a team rider favorite designed to win races, whip big jumps and crush laps at the bike park. Proven geometry with smart adjustment options and the most versatile setup choices on the market make the TR500 the ultimate downhill bike. The rear suspension leverage curve has been refined with years of input from our pro riders, and the geo has proven itself around the world. The TR500 is ready for anything you can throw at it, from gnarly race courses to big senders.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSThe TR500 suspension has a smoother, more consistent leverage rate than our previous DH bike options which offers the rider more mid stroke support without sacrificing bottom out control. The new Vivid rear shock spec offers riders increase rebound adjustment options to further refine their handling. The TR500 geometry adjustments have been refined down to a two positions for less spare parts to lose and easier on the fly changes. The TR500 supports 27.5 wheels in the slack/low setting and Long chainstay position only. The frame is just as stiff and responsive as ever but we have shaved considerable weight (compared to the TR450/TR250) while increasing strength in all critical areas. The TR500 is our best downhill bike ever.

The all new Patrol gives you the control of a downhill bike perfectly balanced with a lively and jumpy personality for a comfortable, efficient and fun ride in almost any trail condition. The Patrol is long and low with a slack 65 degree head angle and big wheelbase for tremendous stability in rowdy terrain. But don’t let the numbers fool you; the short 430mm chainstay and 155mm of active and carefully tuned suspension keep you in touch with the ground and ready to respond at a moment’s notice. With the Patrol you get big mountain confidence with trail bike agility in the same machine.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSWe wanted to push some very aggressive geometry numbers without creating a bike that rode heavy and sluggish on the trail. The Patrol geometry is similar to some of the new 160mm+ bikes on the market, but with 155mm of rear travel it won’t feel out of reach for someone that was considering a bike in the 150mm category. In his European race experiences, Lars felt that travel quantity was not holding him back and that less could actually be more, as long as it was correctly tuned. A shorter travel bike can help make up some more time in the pedaling sections and maintain more agility and awareness of the trail. We think we have nailed it on this bike. The Patrol works with you depending on the trail conditions and how you are choosing lines. The bike rides very lively on the trail with great support in berms and poppy reaction on jumps and small features. But the bike’s stiff chassis, slack head angle and long wheelbase give you a ton of confidence in rough sections and steep terrain. Everything you would want in a long travel trail bike.

The Scout has the character of a slopestyle bike blended with the comfort to pedal big mileage in any terrain. Taking mid travel to all new places, the Scout is equally at home slashing turns deep on backcountry trails or cranking out laps on the local trails. The playful nature of the Scout begs the rider to play around with new lines on the trail. The long front center and 67 degree head angle keep you comfortable and safe; while the short 425mm chainstay and super low bottom bracket let you get wild.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSWe have a long history of bikes that are big on performance but short on travel. Our Bottlerocket was a ground breaking model that helped move the freeride category away from long travel dual crown forks towards modern slopestyle setups. As time went on, we saw a lot of riders using the Bottlerocket as an all around trail bike, something that was fun on jumpy “flow trails” and gave the rider a lot more confidence than a traditional trail bike. The Scout has much of the same feel, but without the added weight. It’s responsive on the trail, ready to manual at any moment and crisp handling like a sports car. The suspension is active and rides high in the travel, so despite having only 125mm of the travel, the Scout is our most capable and confident trail bike ever. Although the Scout shares a lot of its look with the Patrol, and both have similar builds, they each have their own distinct ride feel.

The all new Smuggler takes the 29er in a new direction with a short travel platform that isn’t short on versatility. Aggressive geometry with a slack 67.5 head angle and roomy cockpit let you push the bike hard while the 29 wheels smooth out rough terrain. The short 435mm chainstay and 115mm of progressive suspension keep the bike agile, responsive and playful for maximum fun on whatever trail you choose.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSIt’s no secret that 27.5 wheels get all the attention these days, but we haven’t forgotten about the big wheel, and we love the way they ride when done correctly. We wanted the Smuggler to give the rider all the benefit of a 29 wheel without any of the negatives. That is a pretty lofty goal, but we think the Smuggler is our best 29er ever. The 29 wheel is awesome for traction, control and confidence, but too much travel or the wrong geo and the bike will feel sluggish on the trail. Many companies run steeper head angles or a shorter wheelbase to add agility, but these are a poor substitute for a proper head angle, weight balance and room to move around on the bike. Our shorter travel frame gives you a direct connection to the ground and super short 435mm chainstay length with stiff rear triangle will make you forget you are on “wagon wheels”. Push the bike into rough, rooty and technical terrain and the big wheels do their work to keep you moving forward and smooth out the trail under you. This bike will go much further than the travel numbers would suggest.

Finally a kid’s bike for the junior rippers that ride more than a bike park. Our Ripcord is a 24” wheel kids bike designed to handle any trail condition. The Ripcord is designed to be comfortable for pedaling with size appropriate front end height, and confident handling from a 67 degree head angle and short 381mm chainstay. Strong enough for intermediate level bike park riding, and light enough for XC journeys; the Ripcord is one kid’s bike that does it all. We have based the design around a 100mm travel 26” fork and a standard size rear shock so you have plenty of upgrade options down the road.

TRANSITION RIDE IMPRESSIONSEveryone at Transition has been excited to get out and ride the Ripcord, but it turns out we are all too big. The Ripcord is a kids bike designed for versatility. We had seen a lot of entry level kids bikes and a lot of kids downhill bikes, but we felt the market was lacking a high quality 24” wheel model suited to regular trail riding. We designed the Ripcord as a kids all mountain bike, scaled down from adult size 140-160mm bikes. The Ripcord has a low standover and handlebar height, and a short chainstay length for comfortable handling. The bike uses a 100mm travel 26” wheel air fork with 100mm of rear travel from a standard size air shock for easy setup changes and upgrades down the road.

Our custom swinging dropout system uses a Syntace 142mm axle, but allow for chainstay length adjustment or singlespeed builds in a clean and tidy package. The TransAM was built following a strict recipe blending equal parts fun, value and style. Just like its namesake, the TransAM is powerful and ready to take you anywhere.
