The S8300D Server…

S8300D

• S8300D employs new Intel 1.06 GHz Core 2 Duo processor rather than the S8300C’s single core Intel 600 MHz Celeron M processor.

• DRAM increased from 1 GB (DDR1) on the S8300C to 8 GB (DDR2) on the S8300D.

• SSD increased from the S8300C’s 4 GB to 8 GB.

• Hard Drive increased from the S8300C’s 40 GB to 250 GB.

• Added Gigabit NIC connector for use with G450.

S8300D

Software compatibilities/incompatibilities:

• The S8300D requires Avaya AuraTM Communication Manager 5.2 or greater.

• The S8300D also supports versions of CMM and SES which are compatible with CM 5.2.

The S8300D may be installed in a G700, a G250, a G350, a G430 or a G450 gateway.

The S8300D capacities are identical to those specified for the S8300C. Please see the “Avaya Communication

Manager System Capacities Table – Release 5.2” on the support.avaya.com web site for a detailed listing of

the S8300 capacities

Avaya Aura™ System Platform

• Software layer facilitating packaging and deployment of Avaya offers as virtual appliances – simplifies the installation process and decreases the installation time

• Presents a consistent virtual machine for applications to run on

• Provides a set of common services for use by Avaya applications, e.g. licensing (WebLM), software installation (including software download from PLDS*), software update, backup/restore, interface to Avaya for alarming and remote access, basic HA

• Minimizes footprint for Avaya offers, particularly in the mid-market, by allowing what would previously have been multiple separate products to run on one physical server

• This new media allows agents to use their one-X Agent client as an IM client to send instant messages to one another

• Only Agent-to-Agent IM is supported with one-X Agent as the client for both parties

Presence is another new feature that allows for agents to determine the availability of other agents.

• By adding contacts with an IM address to your contact list an agent will subscribe to that contact's presence

• The 3 types of presence that one-X Agent exposes are: Agent state, Voice channel state, and IM channel state

IM and Presence have things in common:

• They are both optional. An agent can only use these features if they choose to log into the Avaya Presence Server.

H.248 DSP Resources

• MP20 DSP capacity increased from 20 to 25 channels.

• G430 on-board DSP capacity also increased from 20 to 25 channels.

• Customers no longer have to order and install an MP10 DSP to support T1 on a G430.

• 25 channels with or without security encryption supported for all codecs except G.729.

• G.729 support remains at 20 channels.

• Requires Avaya AuraTM Communication Manager that supports increased capacity (e.g. 5.2.1)

MP20 Channel CapacityG430, G450

• Maximum G450 VoIP capacity increased from 240 to 320channels.

• Targeted for Call Centers, Conferencing, Voice Recording

• Increasing number of channels does not increase IP-TDM calls since we are limited by number of TDM timeslots (476max available). Each IP–TDM call requires 2 timeslots yielding a maximum of 238 simultaneous IP-TDM two-party calls per gateway.

• Increasing number of channels does help with conferencing and call recording (which is handled as a 3 party conference).

• Requires 4 MP80s

• Requires CM that supports increased capacity (e.g. 5.2.1)

• SLS Capacity remains same (maximum of 240 endpoints)
