After having strongly contributed to the rise of FCA from one of its worst economic crises in 2005 and having been one of the key assets for the Chrysler acquisition and its return to revenues, the WCM, one of the most advanced production program in the world, has entered the DNA of many companies, becoming a common language and a working philosophy. The person is the focus and in FCA the WCM principles have been the base for the new plants organization, where everything rotates around one key role, the Team Leader. It started with the GBVico revolution and culminates in one of the company's latest achievement, the Goiana plant in Pernambuco, Brazil. We are now in the new industrial revolution, the Industry 4.0 and WCM method is leveraging it to ease people's job, to design and interact more quickly with product and machines, to approach the customers and to learn faster.

Lunedì 11 settembre 2017 14.00 – 14.30 – Sala convegni Invited Keynote su: Industry 4.0: human factors and false revolutions Prof. Marco Santochi – Università di Pisa

The new paradigm of manufacturing which in Italy too is driving political decisions and research financing has a name: Industry 4.0. Looking at the inspiring principles of what has been defined as the 4th industrial revolution, no really new or revolutionary feature emerge. Its enabling technologies are well known technologies which need only to be improved or to demonstrate to be useful. Its fully digital and web connected approach to production chain recalls past unsuccessful experiences like FMS, CIM, automated factory. Is Industry 4.0 a déjà vu? Who is really expected to have benefits from its implementation ? The other essential question is its social sustainability and impact on human factors. Apart from the uncertainty on job creation, which will be the risks on the working conditions? The history of work organization from Taylor to Lean production shows that some Tayloristic aspects die hard: will be permanently connected tablets in the hand of white and blue collars to make their needs satisfied and free them from the work-related stress? Is the smart work the solution? The idea of Industry 4.0 was not born in Italy. Considering that our industry is mainly based on SMEs and looking back to great and daring experiences in humanistic management like Adriano Olivetti’s one, following the stream of Industry 4.0 is the unique and advisable solution?

Il Convegno AITEM 2017 si svolge presso il Polo Didattico Piagge dell’Università di Pisa, Via Matteotti 3, Pisa, inaugurato nel 2014 e dotato di moderne ed efficienti strutture, con aule didattiche rete wi-fi, parcheggio sotterraneo da 100 posti auto, e zona adibita alla ristorazione.

Le sessioni plenarie si tengono presso la “sala convegni”, situata al piano terra e dotata di 240 posti, proiettore e impianto microfonico. Altre sessioni e riunioni tematiche si tengono nelle aule poste al primo e al secondo piano con capienza variabile da 80 a 150 posti.
