ANNEX IV (Decreto Rettorale 99/2015 DEL 15/01/2015)
MACRO AREA OF ARTS
SELECTION AND EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS
A1 is the minimum standard of linguistic proficiency required for participating in the
2015-2016 Erasmus+ Programme (see below for grants of the Germanistics area of the
courses in Modern Languages and Literatures – LLEM and Languages in the
Information Society – LINFO). This requirement is needed independently of possible
conditions posed by the host University of issuing certificates for a specific level of language
proficiency (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
Applications not including the documents listed below shall be considered
incomplete:
list of passed exams (please upload the list of recorded exams available on
delphi.uniroma2.it) and a copy of the university student's record-book;
self-certification of the Bachelor’s Degree final mark – this is required also to students who obtained a degree in another University.
Pass-lists creation and grants assignation
Pass-lists shall be divided by Degree Course or groups of similar Courses. As regards Courses
in Modern Languages and Literatures (LLEM), Languages in the Information Society (LINFO)
and European and American Languages and Literatures (LLEA), lists shall also be divided by
linguistic area of destination.
As regards Bachelor’s Degree students, only exams passed within December 31st, 2014
shall be considered for lists creation. Only for first year students, also exams passed within the
end of the first semester (winter session) shall be considered valid.
Applications for grants of the Germanistics area of the courses in Modern Languages and
Literatures – LLEM – and Languages in the Information Society – LINFO shall be submitted by
students enrolled at least in the second year who obtained a minimum of 10/12 credits (CFU)
in German Language or who have a document certifying at least a B1 level of language
proficiency (“Zertifikat Deutsch”). Students of the first year shall only submit their application
if they have the above-mentioned document for a B1 level.
For Master’s Degree students, the final score shall be calculated based on the Bachelor’s
Degree final mark (expressed in thirtieths, namely final mark * 3/11, plus 4 additional points
for who graduated with honours. Credits obtained with Bachelor’s Degree are 180) and on
marks of the exams passed during the Master’s Degree Course passed within December 31st,
2014. Similarly to Bachelor’s Degree students, for Master’s Degree students enrolled in the
first year, also exams passed within the end of the first semester (winter session) shall be
calculated.

For pass-lists creation, the final score shall be calculated by processing the following statistical
indexes:
1. filter index (Index A): only students who obtained at least 60% (sixty percent) of
progressive credits for the relevant year and course can be admitted. The evaluating
commission may decide to lower this limit if candidates meeting this requirement are less
than grants available;
2. index of average mark (Index B): it is based on the average mark weighted with credits
(obtained by multiplying each mark by the related credits and adding up the resulting
figures. The result shall be divided by the total credits obtained by students);
3. diligence index (Index C): it is a corrective index that subtracts a maximum of two
points to students who did not obtain the total number of progressive credits provided for
their year of attendance. The year of attendance shall be calculated starting from the year
of enrolment.
Please note that:
1) for calculating marks, a full mark (“30 e lode”) equals to 31;
2) for students of the old university system (vecchio ordinamento) – when no credits were
provided – 10 credits for each passed exam shall be calculated;
3) for exams that provide separate marks for the written and oral parts (i.e. language exams),
only the total credits of the two parts provided for the ongoing year shall be considered.
The pass-list, once considered Index A, shall be created based on the score resulting from the
following formula: Final mark = B-C (see Annex 1 containing a scheme of formulas) for all
Degree Courses excluding LLEM, LINFO and LLEA. The formula for LLEM and LINFO courses is:
Final mark = B-C-D (see Annex 2 containing a scheme of formulas).
If the Erasmus call is opened again, students can submit applications for possible remaining
grants for their study course. If all students of the pass-list obtained a grant, possible
remaining grants shall be assigned following the order of arrival of new applications submitted
to the Erasmus Office by students who meet the requisites. If host Universities agree to accept
students of different courses from the one provided in the agreement, students of Anglistics of
the courses LLEM, LINFO and LLEA may submit their application for using possible remaining
grants for Universities where the language required is English. Please note that it is
responsibility of students to preliminarily verify the availability in the foreign University of
courses provided by their study programme (particularly English language, English Literature
and/or Anglo American Literature). Interested Students shall submit a copy of their study
programme when the call is opened again.
Learning Agreement and recognition of exams passed abroad:
Before departure, students who were assigned an Erasmus grant shall complete procedures
for enrolment in the host University within the deadline provided by the same University. They
shall also agree with the theachers of this University upon their study programme abroad and
submit to them their Erasmus Study Programme. Furthermore, students shall also fill in two
copies of the Learning Agreement and submit them to the Erasmus Offices of their Macro Area.
Information on courses held in partner Universities are available on the websites listed below.
During their stay abroad, if students cannot attend the equivalent or similar courses agreed
with teachers of this University, they shall agree with them on possible changes. Any change
shall be communicated by e-mail to the Erasmus Office of the Macro Area of Arts and an
authorization by the teacher shall be attached.
After the mobility period, exams passed in European universities shall be recognized on the
basis of the Learning Agreement form (Erasmus Study Programme) signed by the student and

teachers of this University. The total exam can be recognized (total recognition) or only a part
of it (partial recognition), this decision is based on the number of credits (CFU) obtained.
Marks shall be converted based on tables approved by Departmental Councils. For obtaining
recognition of exams passed in the host University, students shall submit to the Erasmus Office
of their MACRO AREA the original Learning Agreement form. Please note that incomplete
documents shall cause a delay in the procedures for recognition of exams.
