Secondo una secolare tradizione, in Abruzzo, nelle zone interne del compren-

sorio della provincia di L’Aquila, si raccolgono gli stimmi del croco che prendono il nome di zafferano dell’Aquila in fili DOP. Fior di Maiella promuove la diffusione di tale prodot-to, la cui qualità è garantita dal Ministero delle Politiche Agricole, Alimentari e Forestali.

Essendo molto legati al territorio in cui sorge la nostra azienda, dal 2010 stiamo

portando avanti progetti per il recupero delle coltivazioni tipicamente prodotte in Abruzzo come le Lenticchie nostrane e i Ceci Sultano.Le Lenticchie nostrane appartengono alla storia del nostro territorio dove le donne semi-navano nei piccoli appezzamenti pietrosi e calcarei, particolarmente adatti a questo tipo di coltivazione. Grazie a questi terreni, infat-ti, il legume cuoce bene, rapidamente, senza richiedere ammollo.La “sultano” è una antica varietà di cece par-ticolarmente adatta al microclima cui il nostro territorio è vocato.

Being very close to the territory in which our company is located, since 2010 we

are carrying out projects for the recovery of crops typically produced in Abruzzo such as homegrown Lentils and Sultan chickpeas. The homegrown Lentils belong to the history of our country where women sown in small stony and limestone plots, particularly suitable for this type of cultivation. Thanks to these soils, in fact, the legume cooking properly, quickly, without requiring soaking.The “Sultan” is an ancient variety of chickpea particularly suited to the microclimate which our land is suited.
