Trama Rainbow fish, scritto da Marcus Pfister, è una rielaborazione degli alunni delle classi IV° A / B e V° A della Scuola Primaria e degli alunni delle classi I° della Scuola Secondaria di 1° grado che hanno meditato e riflettuto sui temi dell’egoismo, dell’importanza della condivisione, del bene e dell’amicizia. Rainbow Fish è il pesce più bello dell’oceano. Quando il piccolo Blue Fish gli chiede di regalargli una delle sue squame lucide Rainbow Fish si rifiuta, non volendo condividere né l’emozione dei sentimenti, né l’amicizia con gli altri, né la bellezza propria. Tutti gli altri pesci cominciano ad ignorarlo. Rainbow Fish si sente solo e triste e non comprende il comportamento dei suoi amici. Star Fish lo convince a chiedere consiglio ad Octopus. Il saggio polpo gli suggerisce di dare via alcune delle sue innumerevoli squame, se vuole essere meno solo ed amato. Alla fine lui si convince. Si sentirà bello allo stesso modo di prima, ma sarà più felice, con tanti amici. “. . . THE RAINBOW FISH Scene 1

Narrator (1): One day out in the deep blue sea there lived a fish Narrator (2): Not an ordinary one but the most beautiful fish in the Ocean Narrator(1): His scales were blue, green and purple Narrator (2): The other fish loved the way he looked. They called him Rainbow fish. All the fish: “Come on Rainbow fish,” “Let’s play!” Rainbow fish: “I’m too beautiful to play with you, you or you!” Narrator(1) : One day a little blue fish swam after Rainbow fish Little Blue Fish: “Rainbow fish, can you share one of your shiny scales? They’re so pretty and you have so many.” Rainbow Fish: “Never. Just get away from me!” Narrator (2) : The little blue fish swam away. He was so sad.

The fish: Why are you so sad little Blue fish?” The fish: What’s the matter? The fish: Tell us, please Little Blue fish: Well, when I asked Rainbow fish to share one of his pretty scales he told me to go away. The fish: That’s very rude of him! Little Blue fish: Quando ho chiesto al pesce arcobaleno di condividere uno delle sue squame lucide mi ha mandato via The fish: Che maleducazione! The fish: Cosa facciamo? The fish: Ho un’idea! Non giocheremo ne’ parleremo più con lui

The fish: The fish : D’accordo. Non è più nostro amico. Narrator (1) : Il pesce arcobaleno era il pesce più triste dell’oceano Rainbow fish: Perché gli altri non vogliono più giocare con me?

Starfish: I don’t know Rainbow fish. Go and ask the Wise Octopus. I’m sure he can help you.

THE RAINBOW FISH Scene 3

Narrator (2): Rainbow fish swam to see the Wise Octopus Rainbow fish: Hello, Wise Octopus. I need some help. Why are all the other fish not playing with me? I don’t have any friends. Octopus: Listen to me rainbow fish. You must give away your pretty shiny scales. Rainbow fish: Give away my scales My pretty, shiny scales I can’t be happy without them…….Never!

Narrator (1): After some time the little blue fish went back to Rainbow fish. Little Blue fish: Hello Rainbow fish. I only want one tiny small scale. Please. Rainbow fish: mmm…well…eh…Maybe I can give you just one tiny, tiny, tiny scale. Narrator (2): Rainbow fish pulled off the smallest scale and gave it to the little blue fish. Rainbow fish: Here you are little blue fish. Little Blue fish: Thank you, Thank you , Thank you very much. Narrator (1): Little blue fish swam off to tell all the other fish that Rainbow fish had given him one of his beautiful scales. Soon all the other fish wanted one too. Fish 1: Can you share one with me? Fish 2: Can you share one with me? Fish 3: Can you share one with me? Narrator (2): Every time he gave away a scale he felt happier and happier. In the end he had only one scale left. Rainbow Fish: Oh no, I only have one little scale left…. But I have so many friends to play with I feel so happy. All the fish together: Rainbow fish! Narrator (2): Il pesce arcobaleno è andato a trovare il polpo saggio Rainbow fish: Buongiorno polpo saggio. Ho bisogno di aiuto. Perché tutti gli altri pesci non mi parlano più e non giocano più con me? Non ho più amici Octopus: If you give away your scales you will be happy. Ascoltami bene . Devi dare via le tue squame lucide e vedrai che sarai felice. Rainbow fish: Regalare le mie squame, le mie bellissime squame lucide! Non posso essere mai felice se faccio così Narrator (1): Dopo un po’ il piccolo pesce blu è tornato dal pesce arcobaleno Little Blue fish: Ciao pesce arcobaleno. Desidero solo una piccolissima squama . Ti prego. Rainbow fish: Va bene. Forse te ne posso dare solo una… una piccolissima Narrator (2): Il pesce arcobaleno ha tolto una delle sue amate squame e l’ha data al piccolo pesce blu Rainbow fish: Eccola, piccolino. Little Blue fish: much. Grazie, grazie Narrator (1): Il piccolo pesce blu corre a raccontare agli altri che il pesce arcobaleno gli aveva dato una delle sue amate squame.Alla fine, tutti i vecchi amici andarono dal Pesce Arcobaleno a chiedergliene una…..anche loro. Fish 1: Puoi darne una anche a me? Fish 2: Puoi darne una anche a me? Fish 3: Puoi darne una anche a me?

Narrator (2): Ogni volta che il pesce arcobaleno regalava una delle sue squame si sentiva sempre più felice….. Rainbow Fish: Mi è rimasta sono una squama… però ho tanti amici con cui giocare All the fish together: Dai, Pesce arcobaleno, viene a giocare con noi!
