Articulated Rigid Pipe for the Preconditioning of the Aircraft Con l’arrivo nell’aeroporto “Leonardo da

Vinci” di Fiumicino del nuovo Airbus A380,

la Sefind S.r.l. ha realizzato 2 Snorkel 400

appositamente progettati per soddisfare le

esigenze di un aeromobile di tali dimensioni,

con ben 4 ingressi d’aria condizionata per

complessivi 18.000 m3/ora.

With the arrival of the new Airbus A380 at

the airport “Leonardo da Vinci” of Fiumicino,

Sefind S.r.l. realized two Snorkel 400

projected to fulfill the requirements of an

airplane of such dimensions, with four air

conditioning entrances, for 18,000 m³/h.

Lo Snorkel si adatta a qualsiasi lunghezza

dell’aeromobile, può assumere qualsiasi

conformazione e passare anche al di sotto

dell’aeromobile senza creare intralcio.

Riduce la formazione di condensa e non ha

nessun contatto col terreno. La

conformazione del giunto snodato

garantisce minime perdite di carico

nelle curve e impossibilità di strozzature.

Snorkel adapts to any aircraft length, it can

assume any conformation and also pass

beneath the airplane without creating

hindrance. It reduces the formation of

condensation and it hasn’t any contact with

the ground. The articulated joints grant the

slightest loss of load in bends and the

impossibility of obstructions.

Lo Snorkel è progettato per convogliare l’aria

condizionata dell’unità di precondizionamento

all’aeromobile. La conduttura è composta da tubi e

curve in PVC del diametro interno di 300mm o 400mm

e di adeguato spessore di parete. La tenuta dell’aria

viene assicurata da guarnizioni appositamente

realizzate, mentre il collegamento tra i tubi e le curve è

realizzato da una serie di bullonature radiali in acciaio

inox. La prima articolazione verso il precondizionatore è

ancorata a terra tramite un perno con piastra fissata sul

cemento del piazzale con tasselli, mentre le successive

sono libere. L’ultimo tratto di tubazione rigida porta

l’attacco per una manichetta flessibile da collegare

all’aeromobile.

Snorkel is projected to carry the air conditioning of the

preconditioning unit to the aircraft. The pipes consist of

PVC tubes and curves with the internal diameter of

300mm or 400mm and with right thickness. The air seal

is secured by suitably realized gaskets. The connection

between tubes and curves is realized with stainless steel

radial boltings. The first joint toward the preconditioner

is anchored to the ground with a pivot plate fixed on the

cement of the apron with nogs, while the other joints are

free. The last part of the rigid tubes leads to a flexible

hose connection, linkable to the aircraft.
