L‘armonia. Un forte senso di pace e di tranquillità mi

pervade. Un lungo, profondo respiro mi attraversa, e mi

rilassa. Il mio sguardo spazia sulle scuderie e sui paddock.

Rimane intrappolato, rapito, incantato dall’eleganza dei

cavalli arabi. L’emozione è fortissima. E questo succede

ogni volta che torno a casa. L’incontro con i cavalli

mi riempie di pace e di vita: fieri, nobili e orgogliosi.

Fingono di rimanere indifferenti alla mia presenza e io

sorrido – compiaciuto – della loro malcelata gioia nel

vedermi. Per quanto li conosca bene e da sempre, e

mi siano così familiari, nascondono sempre qualcosa

di misterioso, insondabile, quasi enigmatico... Sullo

sfondo delle mille sfumature del verde, alla luce del

sole, i loro corpi così snelli sembrano disegnati da un

grandissimo artista: quanta eleganza, quale grazia e

che bellezza! Sono la prova vivente della magnificenza

della creazione: in estrema naturalezza si integrano nel

paesaggio, rendendolo perfetto.

Wohlwollen. Ein sattes Gefühl von Frieden und Ruhe

durchströmen mich. Ein langer, tiefer Atemzug und

ich kann alles loslassen. Mein Blick streift über die

Stallungen und die Koppel. Wie eingefangen bleibt er

über den Häuptern meiner Pferde fixiert. Was für ein

atemberaubender Moment!

Immer, wenn ich heim komme, genieße ich es, die

Pferde zu beobachten. Stolz und erhaben, tun sie

dann so, als hätten sie mich nicht bemerkt und ich

schmunzle. Bei aller Vertrautheit, bleiben sie mir

letztlich doch rätselhaft. Vor dem Hintergrund der

tausend Facetten des Grüns, im Licht der Sonne,

erscheinen ihre schlanken Leiber wie von Meisterhand

gezeichnet. Was für eine Eleganz, was für eine Anmut!

Sie sind ein Ebenbild der vollständigen Schöpfung. Wie

selbstverständlich ergänzen sie das Landschaftsbild

und perfektionieren es.

Goodwill. A fulfilled feeling of peace and tranquility

flows through me. One long, deep breath and I can

let everything go. I look around my surrounding and I

see my stables and my paddock. As if captivated, my

eyes remain fixed upon the heads of my horses. What

a breathtaking moment!

Every time I return home, I enjoy watching the horses.

Proud and elegant, they then act as if they didn’t

notice me, and I break into a smile. In spite of all the

familiarity, in the end they remain an enigma. Against

the background of a thousand facets of green, in the

light of the sun, their slender bodies seem almost

etched by the hand of an old master. What elegance,

what grace! They are the perfect image of creation

completed. With their natural beauty they add to the

image of the landscape and perfect it.

L‘autorevolezza. I cavalli arabi sono, per me,

la metafora e l’essenza dell‘inarrestabile forza e

determinazione della vita: la prosecuzione del passato

nel presente. E nel futuro, con tutto quel susseguirsi

di movimento e di riposo. La storia di questa razza si

perde tra le antiche sabbie del deserto: il loro fascino

e la loro bellezza sono eterni e destano entusiasmo

sempre e in chiunque. I cavalli arabi sono l’espressione

dei valori che io difendo anche nella mia vita e nella mia

azienda: l’umiltà dell’uomo davanti alla magnificenza

della creazione e la convinzione che la massima qualità

della vita nasca solo quando si è in perfetta armonia e

in dolce simbiosi con la natura tutta.

Dignity. For me, my Arabian horse stud farm is a

metaphor for the essence of life that remains. The

continuation of the past to the present and into the

future, the unity of motion and rest.

The history of this breed is so ancient that it is lost in the

sands of the desert. Their charm and their beauty are

lasting, enchanting people everywhere. Arabian horses

give expression to the values that I hold in my company.

A person’s humility before the beauty of creation, and

experiencing the highest quality of life that comes into

existence by being closest to nature.

Würde. Mein Araber-Gestüt ist für mich Metapher

der Lebensessenz, die bleibt. Die Fortführung der

Vergangenheit in der Gegenwart und in der Zukunft,

die Einheit von Bewegung und Ruhe.

Die Geschichte dieser Rasse ist so alt, dass sie sich

im Sand der Wüste verliert. Ihr Charme und ihre

Schönheit sind dauerhaft und begeistern Menschen

überall. Die Araber-Pferde bringen zum Ausdruck, was

ich an Werten in meinem Unternehmen vertrete. Die

Demut der Menschen vor der Schönheit der Schöpfung

und das Empfinden höchster Lebensqualität, das dort

entsteht, wo man der Natur am nächsten ist.

percezione di essere una piccola parte appartenente

Furnishing. Borne by my own life story, furnishing has

a significance that transcends time. It is the subjective

feeling of being gently integrated into a higher order.

Furnishing our homes is a daily process of cultivation

that tethers us together, grounds us, and surrounds us

with security.

Furnishing is the phenomenon of living the here and

now. We carefully follow this infinite rhythm.

unterschiedlichste Einfl üsse zu einem unverwechselbaren

Flair verbinden. Darum haben wir diese Linie downtown

genannt. Weil sie die Wohnung zu einem pulsierenden

Schmelztiegel unterschiedlichster Kulturen macht.

downtown ist keine Kollektion, es ist eine Philosophie. Eine

Einladung zum Stilmix, zum Fusion Living. Dieses offene

System von traumhaften Einzelstücken ist die Basis für

einen individuellen Einrichtungsstil.

da sogno costituisce la premessa per uno stile d‘arredo

CURA DEL DETTAGLIO

Legni e lavorazione

Le parti massicce della collezione downtown (corpo e profili) sono realizzate in Red Alder

(Alnus Rubra), legno di latifoglie tra i più diffusi della costa occidentale del Nord America,

appartenente alla specie dell’Ontano, unico presente in notevole quantità. Le gambe e il

basamento sono in faggio massello.

Frontali, parti laterali, schienali a vista e piani sono impiallacciati in ciliegio dogato.

„Impiallacciatura dogata“ consiste nel comporre i fogli di impiallaccio in maniera alternata

a diverse larghezze. Questa produzione artigianale trasmette al mobile un carattere mas-

siccio e fa risaltare la sapienza costruttiva dei nostri artigiani.

La collezione downtown si contraddistingue per la lavorazione dell’impiallacciatura in cilie-

gio, utilizzata su alcuni modelli (mod. 5714, 5727, 7711 e 7712) in senso trasversale, per

le spalle inclinate e per le proporzioni dei modelli equilibrate ed eleganti.

La linea del mobile 4711 è completata da particolari di contrasto in legno ispirato alla

radica valorizzata dalla lucidatura trasparente.

Proprio questi essenziali particolari danno alla collezione downtown quel valore senza

tempo.

La cura particolare posta in questa collezione si riscontra anche nei cassetti con giuntura

a coda di rondine. Su gran parte di questi cassetti vengono montate guide metalliche che

li rendono stabili, con uno scorrimento leggero e silenzioso permettono il rientro tramite

chiusura automatica.

Ferramenta ornamentale

Per sottolineare il carattere proprio della collezione downtown, abbiamo appositamente

realizzato una ferramenta ornamentale in finitura peltro brunito ed anticato.

Ripiani

Tutti i ripiani a vista, realizzati in legno o vetro, sono mobili o regolabili a diverse altezze. I

ripiani in legno vengono realizzati in 2 spessori: 25 mm per le librerie, 17 mm per tutti gli

altri mobili. I ripiani in cristallo hanno uno spessore di 8 mm.

I perni reggiripiani si possono inserire in più posizioni lungo i fianchi del mobile.

Holz und Verarbeitung

Die Massivteile der Collection downtown (Rahmen und Profilleisten) sind aus Red Alder/

Rot Erle (Alnus rubra) gefertigt, einem der wichtigsten Laubhölzer der nordamerikanischen

Westküste und einzige amerikanische Erlenart mit hohen Nutzholzdimensionen. Füße und

Sockel sind aus Buche massiv.

Fronten, Seitenteile, sichtbare Rückwände und Platten sind in Kirschbaumholz bunt

furniert (beplankt). Die Furnierstreifen werden „bunt“ im Furnierbild zusammengesetzt.

Die handwerkliche Herstellungsweise und der massive Charakter der Möbelstücke wird

dadurch besonders hervorgehoben.

Besonders hervorzuheben bei einigen Möbeln der Collection downtown ist die quer

angelegte Furnierrichtung (Mod. 5714, 5727, 7711 und 7712), die schräg angeordneten

Pilaster und die Ausgewogenheit der Proportionen.

Die schlichte Eleganz des Möbelstückes 4711 wird durch den bewusst sparsamen Einsatz

kontrastierender Holzwerkstoffe, die Wurzelfurnieren nachempfunden sind, zusätzlich

betont.

Sie verleihen den Möbelstücken der Collection downtown den Charakter von zeitlosen

Einzelmöbeln.

Die Zinkenverbindung der Schubladen unterstreicht die hochwertige handwerkliche

Verarbeitung jedes einzelnen Möbelstückes. Für den Großteil der Schubladen verwenden

wir Schubladenführungen in Metall, diese erhöhen den Bedienkomfort, ermöglichen

einen leichten, ruhigen Lauf und regeln durch einen Selbsteinzug das Schließen der

Schubladen.

Zierbeschläge

Großen Wert legen wir auf die sorgfältige Abstimmung der Zierbeschläge. Um den

besonderen Stil der Collection downtown hervorzuheben, haben wir spezielle zinnfarbige,

antikisierte und brünierte Zierbeschläge entworfen.

Einlegeböden

Alle Einlegeböden aus Holz oder Glas sind höhenverstellbar bzw. abnehmbar.

Glaseinlegeböden sind 8 mm stark. Holzeinlegeböden für Regale haben eine Stärke von

25 mm, alle restlichen Holzeinlegeböden haben eine Stärke von 17 mm.

Die Bodenträger können an den vorgegebenen Positionen eingesetzt werden.

LOVE OF DETAIL

Woods and Workmanship

The solid sections of the Collection downtown (such as frames and mouldings) are made

from red alder (Alnus rubra), one of the most important woods from deciduous trees from

the West Coast of North America and the only American type of alder used for utilizable

timber on a commercial scale. The legs and bases are in solid beech.

Fronts, side sections, visible back walls, and panels are veneered with variegated cherry

(planked). The veneer strips are assembled in a “variegated” pattern in the veneer

formation. In so doing, the handcrafted production method and the solid character are

especially emphasized.

Especially to be emphasized with some pieces of the Collection downtown is the cross-

veneering (Mod. 5714, 5727, 7711 and 7712), the slanting arrangement of the pilasters,

and the balance of the proportions.

The simple elegance of the item 4711 is additionally emphasized through the consciously

sparing use of contrasting wooden materials that are based upon root veneers. They lend

the furniture of the Collection downtown the character of timeless individual pieces.

The dovetail on the drawers underscore the high-quality, handcrafted finish of every

individual piece of furniture. For the majority of the drawers, we use metal drawer guides.

These increase stability, make possible a light, quiet opening, and regulate the closing

process through self-closing.

Decorative Fittings

We attach great importance to the careful coordination of the decorative fittings. In order

to emphasize the particular style of the Collection downtown, we have designed special

decorative fittings that are tin-coloured, antiqued, and burnished.

Shelving

All visible shelves made from wood are adjustable or removable. Glass shelves have a

thickness of 8 mm (0,315 inch). Wooden shelves in bookcases have a thickness of 25 mm.

(0.984 inch), all other wooden shelves have a thickness of 17 mm (0.669 inch).

The bottom supports may be used in the positions provided.

Con questa linea di mobili Lorenzo Bellini dà corpo a un‘idea del fondatore della Selva, Joseph Selva, purtroppo venuto a mancare prematuramente. Il grande sogno del fondatore fu infatti quello di interpretare in un modo del tutto nuovo le forme classiche conferendo ai mobili un tocco di modernità. Heritage J.S. è dunque anche un omaggio al mai dimenticato Joseph Selva - e questo lo sottolineano le lettere puntate che formano il nome della collezione.

With this furniture line, Lorenzo Bellini has realized an idea of the company founder Joseph Selva. Because he had dreamed of newly interpreting classic forms and giving them a modern touch. Heritage J.S. is consequently also an homage to the unforgotten Joseph Selva, as it highlights his initials in the collection‘s name.

Stile treffen aufeinander, Stile inspirieren sich und sie verschmelzen zu neuen Formen. Innovationen, die aus Traditionen geboren werden.

Mit dieser Möbellinie realisiert Lorenzo Bellini eine Idee des Firmengründers Joseph Selva. Denn der hatte davon geträumt, klassische Formen neu zu interpretieren und ihnen einen modernen Touch zu geben. Le parti massicce della collezione Heritage J.S. (corpo e profili) sono realizzate in Red Alder (Alnus

sono in faggio. Le parti impiallacciate (frontali, parti laterali, schienali e piani a vista) sono in

ciliegio dogato. “Impiallacciatura dogata” consiste nel comporre i fogli di tranciato in maniera

alternata a diverse larghezze. Questa produzione artigianale, trasmette al mobile un carattere

massiccio e fa risaltare la sapienza costruttiva dei nostri artigiani.

Il designer per dare maggiore enfasi alla collezione Heritage J.S. ha utilizzato il tranciato

mescolando il senso della venatura in maniera diversificata (verticale – orizzontale). Corpo,

cimasa, top e basi (con cassetti inseriti), utilizza l’impiallacciatura disposta in senso orizzontale. Il

fronte ondulato delle porte e dei cassetti viene impiallacciato in senso verticale. Fanno eccezione

la vetrina Mod. 7694 e la libreria Mod. 8691, che utilizzano sul fianco centrale del corpo

l’impiallacciatura in senso verticale.

Particolare cura è stata posta nello studio e nella realizzazione di questa Collezione, creando un

felice connubio tra forme geometriche regolari, decorazioni in metallo e adottando, per le ante e

i frontali cassetti, una scanalatura morbida e regolare che recupera dettagli architettonici classici.

Avendo sapientemente messo insieme questi particolari estetici abbiamo ottenuto una Collezione

molto elegante ed attuale che sicuramente resisterà al passare del tempo.

I cassetti sono realizzati con giuntura a coda di rondine e vengono montati su guide metalliche

a richiamo, con scorrimento leggero e silenzioso permettendo il loro rientro tramite chiusura

automatica.


Per sottolineare il carattere proprio della collezione Heritage J.S., abbiamo appositamente

realizzato una ferramenta ornamentale in finitura cromato lucido (M3), verniciato satinato (M4) o

dorato (M13). Viene data la possibilità di personalizzare il proprio mobile scegliendo la finitura.

The solid sections of the Collection Heritage J.S. (such as frames and mouldings) are made

from red alder (Alnus rubra), one of the most important woods from deciduous trees from

the West Coast of North America and the only American type of alder used for utilizable

timber on a commercial scale. Legs and drawer frames are in beech.

Fronts, side sections, visible back walls, and panels are veneered with variegated cherry

(planked). The veneer strips are assembled in a “variegated” pattern in the veneer



The designer of Collection Heritage J.S. has placed particular value upon the tension that

is provided by the change in the direction of the veneer between horizontal and vertical.

Bodies and cornice and base elements have a horizontal veneer, as do the incorporated

drawers. The fronts of the doors and drawers in a wave form are veneered vertically. The

exceptions are the collector‘s china cabinet Mod. 7694 and the bookcase Mod. 8691 – in

these cases, the lateral surfaces of the bodies are veneered vertically.

The interplay between the smooth, cubic use of forms with the elements, the simplicity of

their details, the column bases and capitals that have been kept in the classic forms, and

the lavish wave form of the wooden doors and drawers of some of the select furniture

sections all provide the unmistakable tone of the Collection Heritage J.S.

The tenon joints on the drawers underscore the high-quality, handcrafted finish of every

individual piece of furniture. For the drawers, we use metal drawer guides. These increase

the ease of use, make possible a light, quiet opening, and control the closing process

through self-closing.

Decorative Fittings

We attach great importance to the careful coordination of the decorative fittings. In order

to emphasize the unmistakable tone of the Collection Heritage J.S., we have designed

special decorative fittings. They can be delivered either in glossy chrome (M3), frosted

lacquer (M4) or gilded (M13).

Shelving

Wood and glass shelving are adjustable in height or removable. Wooden shelves in

bookcases have a thickness of 25 mm. (0.984 inch), all other wooden shelves are 17

mm. (0.669 inch) thick. Glass shelves have a thickness of 8 mm. (0.315 inch). The bottom

supports may be used in the positions provided.

Lighting

All china cabinets of the Collection Heritage J.S. have interior lighting which carries the

inspection mark VDE and complies with EU specifications for transformers and halogen

lamps. The lamps will switch off automatically in the event of overheating.

Die Massivteile der Collection Heritage J.S. (Rahmen und Profilleisten) sind aus Red Alder/

Rot Erle (Alnus rubra) gefertigt, einem der wichtigsten Laubhölzer der nordamerikanischen

Westküste und einzige amerikanische Erlenart mit hohen Nutzholzdimensionen. Füße

im Furnierbild zusammengesetzt. Die handwerkliche Herstellungsweise und der massive

Charakter werden dadurch besonders hervorgehoben.

Der Designer der Collection Heritage J.S. legt besonderen Wert auf die Spannung,

die durch den Wechsel der Furnierrichtungen zwischen horizontalen und vertikalen

Elementen vermittelt wird. Korpusse, Kranz- und Sockelelemente haben eine horizontale

Furnierrichtung, ebenso die darin eingearbeiteten Schubladen. Die Fronten der Türen und

Schubladen in Wellenform sind vertikal furniert. Ausnahmen sind die Sammlervitrine Mod.

7694 und das Bücherregal Mod. 8691, hier werden die Seitenflächen der Korpusse vertikal

furniert geliefert.

Das Wechselspiel zwischen der glatten, kubischen Formensprache der Elemente, der

Schlichtheit ihrer Details, den in klassischen Formen gehaltenen Säulenbasen und

Kapitellen sowie die aufwändige Wellenform der hölzernen Türen und Schubladen einiger

ausgewählter Möbelteile, vermitteln die unverwechselbare Note der Collection Heritage

J.S.

Die Zinkenverbindung der Schubladen unterstreicht die hochwertige handwerkliche

Verarbeitung jedes einzelnen Möbelstückes. Für die Schubladen verwenden wir

Schubladenführungen in Metall, sie erhöhen den Bedienkomfort, ermöglichen einen

leichten, ruhigen Lauf und regeln durch ihren Selbsteinzug das geräuschlose Schließen der

Schubladen.

Zierbeschläge

Großen Wert legen wir auf die sorgfältige Abstimmung der Zierbeschläge. Um die

unverwechselbare Note der Collection Heritage J.S. zu betonen, haben wir spezielle

Zierbeschläge entworfen; Es kann zwischen glänzend verchromt (M3), satiniert lackiert

(M4) und vergoldet (M13) gewählt werden.

Einlegeböden

Holz- und Glaseinlegeböden sind höhenverstellbar bzw. abnehmbar. Holzeinlegeböden

für Regale haben eine Stärke von 25 mm, alle anderen Holzeinlegeböden sind 17 mm

stark. Glaseinlegeböden sind 8 mm dick. Die Bodenträger können in den vorgegebenen

Positionen eingesetzt werden.

Beleuchtung

Alle Vitrinen der Collection Heritage J.S. haben Innenbeleuchtung mit dem Prüfzeichen

VDE und entsprechen den EU-Normen für Transformatoren und Halogenstrahler. Bei

Legni e lavorazione

Le parti massicce della collezione Opera (corpo, gambe, cimasa, cornici e profili) sono

realizzate in Ciliegio europeo. Le parti impiallacciate (frontali, parti laterali, schienali a vista

e piani) sono in ciliegio. Su alcuni modelli il piano è rifinito con una fascia decorativa in

Bois de Rose che ne valorizza l’aspetto.

I cassetti sono realizzati in due differenti modi:

• versione diritta con giuntura a coda di rondine e montati su guide metalliche con

richiamo.

• versione sagomata senza giuntura a coda di rondine anch’essi montati su guide

metalliche con richiamo.

La chiusura automatica delle guide utilizzate è particolarmente silenziosa e leggera nello

scorrimento.


Per sottolineare il carattere esclusivo della collezione Opera, abbiamo appositamente

realizzato degli accessori che la rendono unica ed inimitabile. Viene data la possibilità di

scegliere tra quattro varianti: ferramenta stile classico finitura argento vecchio anticato

The solid sections of the Collection Opera (such as the body, legs, cornices, and mouldings)

are made from European cherry. The veneered sections (fronts, sides, visible backs, and

panels) are veneered in cherry. With certain models, the tabletop has been finished with

a decorative strip in rosewood that even further enhances the appearance.

The drawers are finished in two different ways:

• Straight version with dovetail joints, mounted on metal guides with return mechanism.

• Molded version without dovetail joints, also mounted on metal guides with return

mechanism.

The automatic closing of the guides that is used is particularly silent and glides very

lightly.

Decorative Fittings

In order to very specially emphasize the exclusivity of the Collection Opera, we have

created accessories that make this collection unique and inimitable. It is for that reason

that we are offering you the possibility of making you selection from among four

variations: Decorative fittings in the classic style with finishes in antiqued silver (M14),

decorative fittings in the classic style with a gilded finish (M16), decorative fittings in the

contemporary style with finishes in antiqued silver (M15), and decorative fittings in the

contemporary style with a gilded finish (M17).

Shelving

All visible shelves are made from wood or glass and are removable or adjustable to various

heights. Wooden shelves come in two thicknesses: 22 mm. (0.866 inch) for bookcases

and 17 mm. (0.669 inch) for all other furniture. Crystal shelves have a thickness of 8 mm.

(0.315 inch). The studs to support the shelves may be inserted in several positions along

the sides of the furniture.

Lighting

All china cabinets of the collection have interior lighting which complies with CEI standards

and conforms to EU specifications for transformers and halogen lamps. All lamps will

Gli arredi della linea Opus 40 sono in legno di rovere. Le

Legni e lavorazione

Le parti massicce della Collezione Opus 40 (corpo, cimasa, cornice, gambe e profili) sono

realizzate in Rovere spazzolato. Le parti impiallacciate (frontali, parti laterali, schienali a

vista e piani) sono in Rovere spazzolato.

La spazzolatura applicata sulle parti esterne dei mobili, dopo la levigatura, mette in rilievo

la venatura (tipica del Rovere) conferendo ai modelli un sapore molto apprezzato e con

un forte impatto estetico.


Per sottolineare il carattere di questa collezione, la scelta della giusta ferramenta

ornamentale è molto importante. Per questo motivo abbiamo realizzato, su nostro

disegno, tutti gli accessori che ornano i modelli della Collezione Opus 40 realizzandoli in

metallo rifinito in argento vecchio anticato, ottenendo un risultato prezioso e nello stesso

tempo esclusivo.

Per caratterizzare ulteriormente i modelli della collezione, sono stati scelti accessori con

un’estetica e uno stile diverso, studiati per essere perfettamente integrati in ogni singolo

mobile.

Pertanto non è possibile sostituire o invertire la ferramenta tra i prodotti di Opus 40.

Dove previsto, le gambe di tavoli, tavolini, consolle, comodini e vetrinette sono rifinite con

puntali terminali in metallo anch’essi rifiniti in argento antico.

Ripiani

Tutti i ripiani a vista, realizzati in legno o vetro, sono mobili o regolabili a diverse altezze.

I ripiani in legno vengono realizzati in 2 spessori: 22 mm per le librerie, 17 mm per tutti gli



Gli schienali delle vetrine di questa collezione non possono essere rivestiti in tessuto.

Illuminazione

Tutte le vetrine della collezione Opus 40 sono dotate di illuminazione interna secondo le

norme CEI e sono in linea con le norme UE per i trasformatori e fari alogeni. In caso di

Die Möbel der Collection Opus 40 sind in ihrer Front, den Seitenteilen, sichtbaren

Rückwänden und Platten in Eiche furniert und gebürstet hergestellt.

Kranz, Rahmen, Füße und Profilleisten sind aus massivem Eichenholz und gebürstet

hergestellt. Die typische natürliche Struktur des Eichenholzes wird durch das Bürsten der

Oberflächen hervorgehoben, sie verleiht den Möbeln eine außergewöhnliche natürliche

Ästhetik.

Zierbeschläge

Exklusiv, dem besonderen Stil der Collection Opus 40 angepasst, wurden hochwertige

Metallgriffe mit antikisierten Altsilber-Oberflächen für Türen und Schubladen entworfen.

Die zwei unterschiedlichen Zierbeschläge innerhalb der Collection Opus 40, können nicht

ausgetauscht werden, sie haben verschiedene Bohrungsabstände. Unter schlanken Füßen

werden dazu passende metallene Applikationen angebracht.

The furniture of the Collection Opus 40 are veneered in brushed oak in their fronts, side

sections, visible back walls, and panels.

The cornices, bases, legs, and mouldings are made from solid brushed oak. The typical

natural structure of the oak is emphasized by the brushing of the surfaces, lending the

furniture an extraordinarily natural aesthetic.

Decorative Fittings

Top-quality metal handles with antiqued silver finishes have been designed for doors

and drawers that exclusively match the special style of the Collection Opus 40. The two

different decorative fittings within the Collection Opus 40 are not interchangeable – they

have different drilling distances. Matching metal appliqués are applied under the slender

legs.

Shelving


bookcases have a thickness of 22 mm. (0.866 inch), all other wooden shelves are 17 mm.

(0.669 inch) thick. Glass shelves have a thickness of 8 mm. (0.315 inch).

The bottom supports may be used in the positions provided. The backs of the china

cabinets in this collection cannot be covered with fabric.

Lighting

All china cabinets of the Collection Opus 40 have interior lighting which carries the VDE

inspection mark and complies with EU specifications for transformers and halogen lamps.

In the unlikely event of overheating, the lamps will switch off automatically.

Le superfici di questi mobili vengono ricoperte, secondo un’antica tradizione e con fasi

di impegnativo lavoro manuale, con fogli di metallo color oro o argento. La particolare

struttura delle finiture si deve proprio all’applicazione o battitura di questi sottilissimi singoli

fogli di metallo che rendono l’anticatura e la patinatura diversa in ogni parte del mobile.

Su alcuni pezzi si ottiene un aspetto anticato ed una forte originalità grazie al trattamento

aggiuntivo di una patina stesa a mano sulle finiture.

Su queste superfici, particolarmente delicate, viene applicata successivamente anche una

particolare lacca protettiva, che però non esenta dal doverne tuttavia averne grande cura.

Eventuali tracce di logorìo e le irregolarità della lacca sui vari spigoli, negli angoli e sulle

applicazioni in metallo, sono tipiche di questa raffinata finitura ed enfatizzano il look antico

di questi mobili, pertanto non possono costituire motivo di reclamo.

The finishes are applied according to the old tradition in an elaborate hand process with

gold-coloured or silver-coloured metal foils. The structure of the finish, the antiquing, and

the patina turn out differently from one part of the furniture to another. This is the result

of the application of individual, extremely thin appliqués or coats that may be rolled. With

some models, the antique appearance and the exclusivity of these finishes are additionally

increased by a patina layer that is applied by hand.

The delicate finishes are also coated with a layer of lacquer, but they are designed

exclusively for gentle use.

Traces of wear that emerge such as worn edges of the lacquer and metal appliqués

are typical of the materials and the article; they emphasize the antique character and

therefore do not represent grounds for complaints.

Die Oberflächen der Möbel werden nach alter Tradition in aufwändiger Handarbeit mit

gold- oder silberfarbenen Metallfolien belegt. Die Oberflächenstruktur, Antikisierung und

Patina fällt von Möbelteil zu Möbelteil unterschiedlich aus, dies aufgrund der Applikation

von einzelnen hauchdünnen, gewälzten bzw. geschlagenen Metallfolien. Bei einigen

Ausführungen werden die antike Anmutung und die Exklusivität dieser Oberflächen durch

eine weitere von Hand aufgebrachte Patinaschicht gesteigert.

Die empfindlichen Oberflächen, werden zusätzlich mit einer Lackschicht überzogen; sind

aber ausschließlich für den schonenden Gebrauch gedacht.

Entstehende Abnutzungsspuren wie abgegriffene Kanten von Lack und Metallapplikationen

sind material- und warentypisch; sie unterstreichen den antiken Charakter und sind daher

kein Grund zur Beanstandung.

Le parti in massello della collezione Solitaire (sedie, gambe dei tavoli e del comò) sono rea-

lizzate in faggio. Frontali, parti laterali e piani a vista sono impiallacciati in ciliegio dogato.

L‘impiallacciatura „dogata“ consiste nel comporre i fogli di impiallaccio in maniera alternata a

diverse larghezze. Questa produzione artigianale trasmette al mobile un carattere massiccio e fa

risaltare la sapienza costruttiva dei nostri artigiani.

La collezione Solitaire si contraddistingue per l’inserimento di montature cromate, impreziosite

da diversi elementi decorativi incastonati a scelta:

(MB) Pietra ossidiana mogano

(MC) Madreperla

(MD) Ambra

L’interno delle ante e lo schienale centrale possono essere personalizzati, a scelta, con un colore

di contrasto rosso (CR) o azzurro (CB).

I cassetti sono montati su guide metalliche ad estrazione totale, con scorrimento leggero, silenzi-

oso e rientro tramite chiusura automatica.

I vassoi portaoggetti, posizionati all’interno di alcuni cassetti, sono realizzati in faggio massello,

lucidato trasparente naturale e le diverse suddivisioni ne permettono un uso diversifi cato. Il

fondo dei vassoi viene rivestito con microfi bra (rossa o azzurra in sintonia con il colore scelto per

gli schienali) che rende molto raffi nato, alla vista, l’insieme del cassetto.

L’allineamento degli armadi può essere effettuato con regolazioni verticali mediante piedini

regolabili.

Ripiani

Tutti i ripiani a vista sono mobili o posizionabili a diverse altezze. I ripiani all’interno delle ante

sono in legno massello e vengono realizzati con uno spessore di 14 mm, montano nella parte

anteriore, un profi lo di battuta.

I perni reggiripiani si possono inserire in più posizioni lungo i fi anchi delle ante del mobile.

Per i vani nelle porte sono state espressamente realizzate delle astine cromate salvaoggetti.

Gli armadi hanno piedini regolabili.

Die Massivteile der Collection Solitaire (Stuhl, Füße von Tisch und Kommode) sind aus

Buchenholz. Fronten, Seitenteile, und sichtbare Böden sind in Kirschbaumholz bunt

furniert (beplankt). Die Furnierstreifen werden „bunt“ im Furnierbild zusammengesetzt.

Die handwerkliche Herstellungsweise und der massive Charakter der Möbelstücke wird

dadurch besonders hervorgehoben.

Die Collection Solitaire zeichnet sich durch ihre dekorativen Applikationen aus. Die

eleganten verchromten Fassungen können mit folgenden Materialien bestellt werden:

Die internen Rückwände der Türen und des Mittelteils können nach Wahl in Kontrastfarben

hergestellt werden. Die Farben rot (CR) oder hellblau (CB) stehen zur Auswahl.

Die Schubladen laufen auf metallenen Schubladenführungen mit kugelgelagerten Rollen

und Selbsteinzug. Sie ermöglichen einen ruhigen und leichten Lauf und regeln das

Schließen der Laden.

Die eleganten und repräsentativen Inneneinteilungen einiger Schubladen sind als

Einsätze aus massivem Buchenholz im Naturton gefertigt, die mit klarem Transparentlack

versiegelt sind. Die Böden der Einsätze werden passend zu den farbigen Rückwänden mit

Mikrofaserstoff ausgelegt, dies trägt zur besonderen Wertstellung der Kollektion bei.

Die Schränke sind mit Sockelverstellern ausgerüstet, sie gewährleisten ein einwandfreies

horizontales und vertikales Ausrichten der Schränke.

Einlegeböden

Alle Einlegeböden sind höhenverstellbar bzw. abnehmbar. Die Einlegeböden in den Türen

sind aus 14 mm starken Massivholz und mit einem Anschlagprofil versehen.

Die Bodenträger können an den vorgegebenen Positionen eingesetzt werden.

Ablagefächer in den Türen sind mit einsteckbaren verchromten Metallrelings

ausgestattet.

The solid sections of Collection Solitaire (chairs, table legs, and chests of drawers) are made

from beech. Fronts, side sections, and visible bottom sections are veneered with variegated

cherry (planked). The veneer strips are assembled in a “variegated” pattern in the veneer



The Collection Solitaire distinguishes itself through its decorative appliqués. The elegant

The interior faces of the doors and of the central section may be done in contrasting

colours as desired. The colours from which the selection may be made include red (CR) or

The drawers run on metal drawer guides with ball-bearing rollers and are self-closing. They

make a quiet and easy motion of the drawers possible and regulate their closing.

The elegant and luxurious interior partitions of the drawers are prepared as inserts made

from solid beech in its natural colour that has been sealed with a clear, transparent lacquer.

The bottoms of the inserts are arranged to match the coloured rear walls with microfi ber.

This contributes to the special value of the collection.

The wardrobes are equipped with base adjusters which guarantee an impeccable horizon-

tal and vertical alignment of the wardrobes.

in tiglio. Le gambe di sostegno sono realizzate in faggio massello. Le parti impiallacciate

(fi anchi, schienali a vista e coperte) sono realizzate in Ciliegio dogato. „Impiallacciatura

dogata“ consiste nel comporre i fogli di impiallaccio in maniera alternata a diverse

larghezze. Questa produzione artigianale trasmette al mobile un carattere massiccio e fa

risaltare la sapienza costruttiva dei nostri artigiani. Il piano della credenza 7746 e il piano

del mobile porta-TV 5744 sono dogati in 4/4.

Le spalle inclinate sono impiallacciate in ciliegio lavorato spina di pesce.

I pannelli delle ante possono essere forniti, a seconda nelle seguenti versioni:

Die Massivholzteile der Collection Tzsar (Kranz, Rahmen und Profilleisten) sind aus

Lindenholz, die Füße werden aus massivem Buchenholz hergestellt.

Fronten, Seitenteile, sichtbare Rückwände und Platten sind in Kirschbaum bunt furniert

(beplankt). Die Furnierstreifen werden „bunt“ im Furnierbild zusammengesetzt. Die

handwerkliche Note und die Individualität jedes einzelnen Möbelstückes werden dadurch

besonders hervorgehoben. Die Platten der Kredenz 7746 und des TV-Möbels 5744 sind

mit Kreuzfuge furniert.

Die Fronten werden durch einen massiven Rahmenfries eingefasst, der die aufwändig

gestalteten Frontelemente umschließt. Die schrägen Rahmenflächen sind als Federfriese

gearbeitet, das Furnier verläuft hier also schräg, jeweils dem Winkel der Rahmengehrung

folgend.

Folgende Fronten stehen zur Auswahl::

V3 = Türen mit Glaseinlage schwarz lackiert.

The solid sections of the Collection Tzsar (such as cornices, frames, and mouldings) are

made from linden, while the legs are made from solid beech.

The Fronts, side sections, visible back walls, and panels are veneered with variegated cherry

(planked). In so doing, the handcrafted touch and the individuality of every single piece of

furniture are especially emphasized. The panels of the sideboard 7746 and the TV stand

5744 are veneered with a four piece match.

The fronts are bordered by a solid frieze around the frame which encloses the lavish front

elements. The slanted frame surfaces are crafted as a feather frieze, and thus the veneer

also runs at a slant here, correspondingly following the angle of the frame miter joint.

Vogue, 1892

Quando venne pubblicata per la prima volta, la rivista

femminile Vogue determinò l’inizio di una delle epoche più

affascinanti, istituendo così la culla della modernità.

Fino agli splendidi anni ‚20, l’arte, la forza creativa

lo stile di vita si svilupparono in modo esplosivo:

l’espressionismo, il costruttivismo, il cubismo, il surrealismo,

la Bauhaus, l’esotismo, l’Art déco, l’Art Nouveau e il

sovvertimento sociale provocarono -assieme allo sviluppo

dell’industrializzazione- un rinnovamento che per la prima

volta fu infl uenzato fortemente anche dalle donne.

Come è abitudine in Selva, oggi -con la Collezione Vogue-

rendiamo omaggio a quest’epoca con il rigore della

modernità, con le tradizioni dell’alto artigianato, con la

creatività e la forza del presente: esclusive, defi nite, pacate

forme senza tempo ne mettono in evidenza -con delicate

percezioni visive e tattili- i materiali.

the most fascinating time periods of our age: The Cradle

of Modernity

Through the Roaring Twenties, art, creativity, and lifestyle

developed at an explosive pace. Expressionism,

constructionism, cubism, surrealism, the Bauhaus,

orientalism, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, and radical changes in

society all resulted in a new break that came into being

with the development of industrialization, for the fi rst time

also greatly infl uencing women.

Die Zeitschrift Vogue läutete mit Ihrem Erscheinen einen

der faszinierendsten Zeitabschnitte ein: Die Wiege der

Moderne

Bis in die goldenen Zwanziger entwickelten sich

explosionsartig Kunst, Gestaltung und Lifestyle.

Expressionismus, Konstruktivismus, Kubismus, Surrealis-

mus, Bauhaus, Orientalismus, Art Deco, Jugendstil und

gesellschaftliche Umwälzung ergaben einen, mit der

Entwicklung der Industrialisierung entstehenden Aufbruch,

Legni e lavorazioni

La Collezione Vogue è completamente realizzata con elementi costruttivi (fianchi, top,

schienali a vista, gambe dei tavoli e tavolini) che sono impiallacciati in Ebano Makassar

precomposto. Gli interni dei mobili sono impiallacciati in Tanganica, finitura trasparente:

La Collezione è stata pensata per poter essere completata con accessori, che la rendono

particolarmente moderna.

E’ possibile richiedere un piano in cristallo temperato laccato nero da 6 mm (V5), da

posizionare sul top di alcuni modelli.

I cassetti vengono montati su guide metalliche a richiamo soft, con scorrimento leggero e

particolarmente silenzioso e che permette il loro rientro tramite chiusura automatica.


Vogue è una collezione di notevole impatto visivo e per valorizzare la sua linea moderna

abbiamo inserito sulle ante e sui cassetti una maniglia in finitura Cromo lucido.

Ripiani

Tutti i ripiani a vista, realizzati in legno o vetro, sono mobili o regolabili a diverse altezze.

I ripiani in legno vengono realizzati in due spessori: 25 mm nelle librerie, 17 mm all’interno

delle credenze. I ripiani in cristallo hanno uno spessore di 8 mm.

I perni reggiripiani sono in metallo cromato e si possono inserire in più posizioni lungo i

fianchi del mobile. Nella libreria art. 8171, i divisori e i ripiani che compongono la struttura

interna sono realizzati in cristallo da 8 mm.

Gli schienali a vista di vetrine e librerie non possono essere rivestite in tessuto stoffa.

Illuminazione

Le vetrine della collezione Vogue possono essere dotate di impianto di illuminazione

interna (I2) da posizionare su ogni ripiano di cristallo, secondo le norme CEI e sono in linea

con le norme UE per i trasformatori e fari alogeni. In caso di surriscaldamento le lampade

si spengono automaticamente.

Tutti gli schienali dei modelli dove è prevista l’illuminazione, sono forati per poter installare

l’impianto illuminazione e vengono dotati di un copriforo (in plastica) della stessa tonalità

della finitura prevista.

Le operazioni di montaggio dovranno essere eseguite da personale qualificato.

Die sichtbaren Konstruktionselemente der Collection Vogue, also Fronten, Seitenteile,

sichtbare Rückwände, Böden, Fachböden, Tischfüße und Tischplatten sind in Makassar-

Nachbildung (Fineline) furniert. Schrankinnenseiten in Tanganica furniert, Oberfläche klar

lackiert.

Für einige Modelle der Collection Vogue werden, als zusätzliches Gestaltungselement,

schwarz lackierte ESG-Glasplatten angeboten, (V5) die auf die Platten aufgelegt werden

können.

Schubladen sind mit metallenen Schubladenführungen mit Selbsteinzug ausgestattet, sie

ermöglichen leichten, ruhigen Lauf und geräuschloses Schließen.

Zierbeschläge

Exklusiv für die Collection Vogue wurden glänzend verchromte Zierbeschläge entworfen,

sie betonen das individuelle Design dieser Collection.

Einlegeböden

Die Mittelseite und die Glasböden des Bücherschranks Art. 8171 sind aus 8 mm dickem

Die Rückwände der Vitrinen dieser Kollektion können nicht mit Stoff bespannt werden.

Beleuchtung

Vitrinen können auf Wunsch mit Innenbeleuchtungssystemen geliefert werden (I2) sie

werden auf den rückwärtigen Kanten der Glasböden positioniert.

Die lose gelieferten Leuchten werden auf die rückwärtige Kante der ausgewählten

Glasböden aufgesteckt. Das Kabel wird an entsprechender Stelle durch die Rückwand

geführt (siehe Beschreibung) und mittels spezieller Stecker verbunden. Die Rückwände

werden vorgebohrt, die Bohrungen können mit einer farblich angeglichenen Abdeckung

(Kunststoff) geschlossen werden. Die wahlweise lieferbaren Innenbeleuchtungssysteme

für die Vitrinen der Collection Vogue tragen das VDE-Prüfzeichen, sie entsprechen den

EU-Normen für Transformatoren und Halogenstrahler. Bei Überhitzung schalten die

Leuchten automatisch ab.

LOVE OF DETAIL


The visible construction elements of the Collection Vogue such as fronts, side sections,

visible back walls, bottoms, niche bottoms, table legs, and table tops, are veneered in

imitation makassar (FINELINE). The interiors of wardrobes are veneered in tanganika and

lacquered with a clear finish.

As an additional decorative element, a black lacquered glass table top (V5) is offered

for some models of the Collection Vogue that can be placed on top of the regular table

tops.

Drawers are provided with metal drawer guides that self-close, making possible a quiet

and easy motion and silent closing.

Decorative Fittings:

In order to emphasize the individual character of this collection, we have designed

decorative fittings in glossy chrome exclusively for the Collection Vogue.

Shelving



(0.669 inch)thick. Glass shelves have a thickness of 8 mm. (0.315 inch). The bottom

supports may be used in the positions provided. The central side and the glass shelves of

the bookcase model 8171 are made from 8 mm. (0.315 inch) single-pane safety glass.


Lighting

If desired, china cabinets can be delivered with an interior lighting systems (I2). They are

positioned on the rear edge of the glass shelves.

The lights, which are delivered uninstalled, are placed on the rear edge of the selected

glass shelf. The wiring is led through the back wall at a corresponding spot (see the

description) and is connected by means of a special plug. The rear walls are predrilled, and

the drillings can be closed with a covering (plastic) that matches in color. The optionally

available interior lighting systems for the china cabinets of the Collection Vogue carry the

VDE inspection mark and comply with EU specifications for transformers and halogen

lamps. In the unlikely event of overheating, the lamps will switch off automatically.

La lucidatura prevista per la Collezione Vogue trasmette,

al tatto, una sensazione di particolare effetto riuscendo

coniugare il modo di arredare odierno con la voglia di

vivere circondati da elementi naturali.

Per soddisfare queste esigenze è stata studiata una

finitura che presenta queste caratteristiche ma che ha

comunque bisogno di essere trattata con delicatezza.

Per questo motivo, se i mobili (soprattutto sui piani di

appoggio) dovessero sostenere un uso particolarmente

impegnativo, consigliamo di utilizzare il piano di

cristallo temperato laccato nero (fornito a parte V5) a

protezione dei top.

Upon being touched, the finish intended for the

Collection Vogue exudes a pleasant feel. This finish

manages to connect contemporary furnishing with the

desire to live surrounded by natural, elegant elements.

In order to meet these demands, a particular finish has

been developed that possesses this property, although

it is important that it be treated delicately.

For that reason, if the furniture (especially the table

tops) will be subjected to particularly demanding use,

we recommend the black-lacquered single pane safety

glass table tops, in order to protect the surface from

scratches (available as option V5).

The Collection Vogue offers 3 variants for

Um die hochwertigen Ansprüche des Designs zu

erfüllen wurde eine individuelle Oberfläche entwickelt.

Aufgrund der besonderen Beschaffenheit weisen wir

darauf hin, dass die Oberfläche mit großer Sorgfalt zu

behandeln ist.

Wir empfehlen bei hoher Beanspruchung (vor allem

bei den Ablageflächen) die schwarz lackierte ESG-

Glasplatte zu verwenden. So gewährleisten wir die

Ablagefläche vor eventuellen Kratzern zu schützen (als

Option erhältlich V5).

LEGNI

Legni e materiali di primissima qualità e un‘accurata lavorazione garantiscono l‘unicità dei

nostri mobili. Lavoriamo ad arte secondo i modelli della tradizione ebanistica. Da sempre

Selva dà grande importanza all‘abilità artigianale, anche quando si tratta di realizzare i

più piccoli dettagli.

Per le parti impiallacciate come frontali, fianchi, schienali, ripiani e piani impieghiamo, a

seconda dei modelli, tranciati di ciliegio, noce, tanganica, rovere, precomposto di pioppo

(pioppo multilaminare), ecc. Si vedano maggiori dettagli nelle descrizioni.

Le radiche usate sono noce, mirto, frassino, olivo, castagno, olmo, acero, pioppo, ecc.

Le parti impiallacciate vengono lavorate, a seconda dei modelli, su pannelli strutturali in

truciolare, in MDF, in multistrato, o in legno listellare.

Cappello, cornici, zoccolo, profili e telaio vengono realizzati in legno massello. Per

queste parti utilizziamo solitamente red alder, faggio, tiglio, pioppo, rovere e tulipier

americano.

IL LEGNO È UN PRODOTTO VIVO

Di conseguenza venature irregolari, piccoli avvallamenti, piccole crepe, nodi e differenze

di colore sono la migliore prova della genuinità e della naturalezza del legno impiegato.

Già in prima lavorazione il massello utilizzato per i nostri mobili viene preparato per

sopportare la situazione climatica a cui sarà esposto nella probabile destinazione finale.

sapienza costruttiva dei nostri artigiani.

Erstklassige Hölzer und Materialien sowie sorgfältige Verarbeitung bürgen für die

Einzigartigkeit unserer Möbel. Wir arbeiten nach den Vorbildern des traditionellen

Kunsthandwerks. Bei Selva wird handwerkliches Können seit jeher groß geschrieben, auch

bei der Abstimmung kleinster Details.

Für die furnierten Flächen wie Fronten, Seitenteile, Rückwände, Abdeckplatten und

Einlegeböden verwenden wir, je nach Ausführung, Kirschbaum, Nussbaum, Tanganica,

Eiche, Pappelschichtholz (Furniersperrholz Pappel), usw. Einzelheiten entnehmen Sie den

Modellbeschreibungen.

Unsere Wurzelfurniere stammen von Nussbaum, Myrte, Esche, Olivenbaum, Kastanie,

Ulme, Ahorn und Pappel, usw.

Furnierte Flächen werden, je nach Ausführung, auf Trägermaterialien wie Spanplatten,

MDF-Platten, Sperrholzplatten oder Tischlerplatten (Stabsperrholz) gearbeitet.

Kranzprofile, Rahmen, Sockel, Profilleisten und Gestelle werden aus Massivholz gefertigt.

Wir verwenden dafür u.a. Red Alder (amerikanisch Roterle), Buche, Linde, Pappel, Eiche und

amerikanisch Tulipier (Tulpenbaum).

HOLZ IST EIN NATURPRODUKT

Astansätze, leichte Risse, Farbnuancen und unregelmäßiger Maserungsverlauf sind

warentypische Eigenschaften von natürlich gewachsenem Holz. Vor der Verarbeitung

werden alle Hölzer dem Klima, dem sie an ihrer späteren Verwendungsstelle voraussichtlich

ausgesetzt sind, angepasst.

DIE KOLLEKTIONEN




- Collection Tzsar

werden in einer besonderen Art der Furniertechnik hergestellt, sie werden bunt furniert

(beplankt). Die Furnierstreifen werden „bunt“ im Furnierbild zusammengesetzt. Der

handwerkliche und massive Charakter der Möbelstücke wird dadurch besonders

hervorgehoben.

WOODS AND WORKMANSHIP

First-class woods and materials as well as careful craftsmanship vouch for the uniqueness

of our furniture. We work according to traditional models of the most exquisitely artistic

handicraft. At Selva, great stress has always been placed upon handicraft ability - including

making the smallest details match. For the veneered sections, such as fronts, side sections,

back walls, panels, and shelves, we use cherry, walnut, tanganika, oak, and multi-ply poplar

(laminated poplar), spruce, among others, depending upon the model.

We craft root veneers from walnut, myrtle, ash, olive wood, chestnut, elm, maple, poplar,

and others.

Veneered surfaces are applied to base materials such as particleboards, medium-density

fiber boards, multi-ply boards, or blockboards, depending upon the model.

Cornice profiles, body frames, bases, mouldings, and seat frames are made from solid

wood. Among the woods we use for these are red alder, maple, beech, linden, spruce,

poplar, and American tulipwood (from the tulip tree).

WOOD IS A NATURAL PRODUCT

Knots, minor fissures, nuances in colour, and irregular grain structure are all typical

characteristics of naturally grown woods. Even before being worked, the woods are

adapted to the climate to which they will probably be exposed in the area of their later

use.

The veneer strips are assemble in a variagated pattern in the veneer formation. In so doing,

the handcrafted production method and the solid character of the pieces of furniture are

INTARSI

L’unicità dei nostri mobili è dovuta, non da ultima, alle

superfici intarsiate realizzate con legni nobili. Intarsi e filetti

sono eseguiti artigianalmente in acero, ciliegio, palissandro,

paduc, noce, bois de rose e in vari impiallacci tinti.

IMPIALLACCIATURE ARTIGIANALI CON LASTRE

La realizzazione di impiallacciature fatte a mano con lastre

di 4 mm è un‘arte che ormai pochissimi maestri artigiani

conoscono e tramandano, come vuole la tradizione, da

generazione in generazione.

INTAGLI

Gli intagli vengono rifiniti esclusivamente a mano.

INLAYS

The beauty of our furniture is not least the result of the

inlayed surfaces made from fine hardwoods, one of its

essential features. Inlays and filets are carried out with

maple, cherry, jacaranda, paduc, walnut, and rosewood, as

well as dyed veneers.

SAW-CUT VENEERS

The application of 4 mm. thick saw-cut veneer using hand

pegging is a technique that has been mastered by only a

few artisans. It has been handed down from generation to

generation according to the old tradition.

WOODCARVINGS

The woodcarvings are also produced exclusively by hand.

INTARSIEN

Die Einzigartigkeit unserer Möbel ist nicht zuletzt auf die

Intarsienflächen aus edlen Hölzern, einem ihrer wesentlichen

Gestaltungsmerkmale, zurück zu führen. Intarsien und

Fileteinlagen werden in Handarbeit aus Ahorn, Kirschholz,

Palisander, Paduc, Nussbaum, Rosenholz, sowie eingefärbten

Furnieren gefertigt.

SÄGEFURNIERE

Die Verarbeitung von 4 mm Sägefurnier in handgestifteter

Ausführung ist eine Technik, die nur noch von wenigen

Kunsthandwerkern beherrscht wird. Sie wird nach alter

Tradition von Generation zu Generation weitervererbt.

accurati movimenti manuali. Nelle varie fasi di lavorazione,

la superficie viene finemente levigata e trattata con carta

abrasiva a grana finissima.

Le finiture con rovinio, dove previste, sono realizzate

secondo esclusive tecniche artigianali su ogni singolo mobile

e gli donano un aspetto antico.

Sulle finiture lucide, anche se utilizzate normalmente,

possono apparire inevitabili micrograffi (dovute all’utilizzo

quotidiano e alle operazioni di pulizia) che saranno più

evidenti su tinte scure rispetto a quelle chiare. La presenza di

eventuali piccole differenze di tonalità sono garanzia di una

lavorazione artigianale e dell’impiego di legni naturali.

Esistono 4 categorie di finiture:

Class 1, Class 2, Class 4, Class 5.

PIANI DEI TAVOLI

I piani dei tavoli vengono trattati con lacche a due componenti

o con lacche acrliliche che li proteggono da macchie d‘alcol

e acqua. Inoltre sono più resistenti all‘abrasione e ai graffi.

Le finiture 16, 17, 60 e 62 realizzate secondo le tecniche

tradizionali artigianali, non hanno questo grado di resistenza:

sono infatti concepite per un uso delicato.

Per i piani dei tavoli suggeriamo l‘utilizzo esclusivo di

tovaglie o sottotovaglie in puro cotone o mollettone,

poiché le superfici verniciate in alcuni casi potrebbero

reagire chimicamente con le tovaglie in materiale sintetico.

Bisogna inoltre evitare il contatto con fonti di calore come

scaldavivande, pentole ecc.

I tavoli che in estensione superano i 215 cm presentano una

leggera flessione del piano, che rientra negli standard di

qualità accettati.

FINISHES

Lacquers protect the surfaces of the furniture. The stains

and lacquers have been produced exclusively for us. They

are applied to the furniture in a spraying process and, in a

multi-step operation, are wiped by hand, buffed with the

finest steel wool, brushed, and then polished.

Distressed finishes are individually created on each piece

of furniture using lavish handcrafted techniques, providing

the impression that the piece already has a lengthy history

behind it.

On glossy finishes, tiny scratches may form with normal

use and care; this is typical for the item. They are easier to

recognize with darker colours than with lighter finishes.

Slight differences in colour are due to the handcrafted

workmanship of the finishes and the natural properties of

the woods.

Finishes are organized into four categories:

Class 1, Class 2, Class 4, and Class 5.

TABLE TOPS

Table tops are provided with DD lacquer and acrylic lacquer

and are consequently protected from alcohol and water

stains. They are durable with regard to scratching and

abrasion. Exceptions to this are the finishes 16, 17, 60 and

62, which are made in the traditional handcrafted manner

(that is, with a shellac base) in a process of several steps and

are designed for protective use.

For tabletops, we recommend using only cotton tablecloths

or Molton table coverings, since under unfavorable

circumstances, the lacquer finishes can chemically react

with synthetic coverings. Contact with sources of heat such

as fondue heaters or hot dishes should be avoided. Tables

with leaves which exceed a length of 215 cm. (84 in.) in their

extended position may bend slightly, which meets their

quality standards and is acceptable.

OBERFLÄCHEN

Lacke veredeln und schützen die Oberflächen der

Möbel. Die exklusiv für uns hergestellten Beizen und

Lacke werden deshalb von uns im Spritzverfahren auf

die Möbel aufgetragen und in vielen Arbeitsgängen von

Hand gewischt, mit feinster Stahlwolle ausgerieben und

geschliffen.

Oberflächenausführungen mit Gebrauchsspuren werden

in aufwändigen handwerklichen Techniken individuell auf

jedem Möbelstück hergestellt, sie vermitteln den Eindruck

einer langen Geschichte des Möbels.

Auf glänzenden Oberflächen können auch bei normalem

Gebrauch und Pflege feine Mikrokratzer entstehen,

sie sind warentypisch. Bei dunklen Farbtönen sind sie

leichter zu erkennen, als auf hellen Oberflächen. Geringe

Farbunterschiede sind unvermeidlich, sie sind auf die

handwerkliche Oberflächenbearbeitung und die natürlichen

Eigenschaften der Hölzer zurückzuführen.

Die Oberflächen sind in 4 Kategorien unterteilt:

Class 1, Class 2, Class 4, Class 5.

TISCHPLATTEN

Tischplatten werden mit DD-Lack oder Acryl-Lack versehen

und sind somit vor Alkohol- und Wasserflecken weitgehend

geschützt. Hinsichtlich Abrieb und Kratzbeanspruchung

sind sie strapazierfähig. Davon ausgenommen sind die

Oberflächen 16, 17, 60 und 62 die in traditioneller Art und

in vielen Arbeitsgängen handwerklich gefertigt werden und

für einen schonenden Gebrauch gedacht sind.

Für die Tischplatten empfehlen wir ausschließlich die

Verwendung von Baumwolltischdecken oder Molton-

Untertischdecken, da die Lackoberflächen mit synthetischer

Tischwäsche unter ungünstigen Umständen chemisch

reagieren können. Der Kontakt mit Wärmequellen wie

Rechauds oder heißem Geschirr ist zu vermeiden.

Auszugstische die im ausgezogenem Zustand eine Länge

von 215 cm überschreiten, können sich leicht durchbiegen,

was dem Qualitätsstandart entspricht und akzeptabel ist

CLASS 2 Particolare risalto viene attribuito alle finiture antichizzate che

vengono realizzate tramite molti passaggi di lavoro manuali.

Su ogni mobile vengono applicati a mano le tarlature e il

rovinìo, segni tipici di alto artigianato che conferiscono al

mobile l‘aspetto di un pezzo con una lunga storia alle spalle.

Anche le finiture a base di lacche acriliche appartengono a

questa categoria. La loro caratteristica è quella di contenere

l‘ingiallimento delle superfici, mantenendo nel tempo le

tonalità delle tinte originali.

The finishes that are especially striking are the distressed

finishes, which are produced using lavish, handcrafted

techniques. The tiny worm holes and signs of use are

individually applied to each piece of furniture, giving the

impression that this furniture already has a long history

behind it. The acrylic lacquer finishes are also included in

this category. They demonstrate a high degree of resistance

to ultraviolet rays and therefore, to a great degree, will not

turn yellow.

Oberflächen mit Gebrauchsspuren sind besonders markant,

sie werden in aufwändigen handwerklichen Techniken

hergestellt. Kleine Wurmlöcher und Gebrauchsspuren

werden individuell auf jedem Möbelstück angebracht, sie

vermitteln den Eindruck, dass diese Möbel bereits eine

CLASS 4Lavorare le finiture “in vecchio stile” è un procedimento del tutto straordinario. L‘aspetto

particolarmente nobile si raggiunge dopo numerosi fasi di lavoro artigianale applicando

i rovinii, la patina e le lacche. Le ombreggiature anticate si formano con delle patine.

Di particolare rilievo sono le numerose carteggiature e levigature tra le singole fasi di

lavorazione. La ceratura finale su alcune finiture viene sapientemente dosata con estrema

capacità dai nostri lucidatori, in tal modo si ottiene, alla fine, un prodotto curato ma

soprattutto unico. Il rovinio dovuto all‘utilizzo quotidiano enfatizza il carattere antico di

questi mobili. Le finiture di questi mobili sono pensate per un uso delicato.

I mobili con le finiture 60 e 62 rievocano pezzi antichi, dando l‘impressione di avere un

lungo vissuto. Ad esempio, diamo agli spigoli un aspetto consunto e logoro, levigandoli

abilmente in modo irregolare, per simulare un‘usura dovuta all‘uso prolungato nel tempo.

Le faccette e gli spigoli dei profili sono realizzati a mano appositamente con colori

contrastanti e volutamente in modo irregolare. E, grazie a questa irregolarità e al rovinio,

ogni singolo mobile assume l‘aspetto di un pezzo unico, inconfondibile. Gli schienali a vista

delle vetrine e degli scaffali vengono sempre lucidati in finitura ciliegio. Le finiture di questi

mobili sono pensate per un uso delicato.

Finishes that are still produced “the old-fashioned way” are something completely

extraordinary. The especially fine appearance is attained through many production steps

by hand through the application of distressed touches, stains, and lacquers. Antiquing

shadings are created through the application of patinas. Especially to be emphasized is

the repeated sanding and buffing between each production step. Finally, several of the

surfaces receive a wax finish that is carefully applied by hand, perfecting and emphasizing

the antique character. Through the course of time, existing distressed touches will

underscore the antique character of this furniture. These finishes are designed for

protective use. Furniture with the finishes 60 and 62 are modeled on antique pieces. They

are to give the impression that these pieces of furniture already have a long history behind

them. In particular, worn down edges are achieved by us by intentionally and skillfully

grinding the edges in an irregular manner. They are subject to an especially great deal of

wear during use. Facets, edges, and mouldings are intentionally provided with somewhat

irregular contrasting colours by hand. As a result of these individual irregularities and

distressed touches, every piece of furniture becomes an unmistakable individual piece.

The visible back walls of china cabinets and the backs of open bookcases are always

polished with a cherry colour. These finishes are designed for gentle use.

„Im alten Stil“ verarbeitete Oberflächen sind etwas ganz Außergewöhnliches. Die besonders

edle Anmutung wird in vielen handwerklichen Arbeitsgängen durch das Anbringen von

Gebrauchsspuren, Beizen und Lacken erreicht. Antikisierende Schattierungen werden

durch das Auftragen von Patinas erzeugt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das wiederholte

Anschleifen und Ausreiben zwischen den einzelnen Arbeitsgängen. Abschließend erfährt

ein Teil der Oberflächen ein sorgfältig von Hand aufgetragenes Wachsfinish, das

den antiken Charakter vollendet und unterstreicht. Im Laufe der Zeit entstehende

Gebrauchsspuren unterstreichen den antiken Charakter dieser Möbel. Diese Oberflächen

sind für den schonenden Gebrauch gedacht.

Möbel mit den Oberflächen 60 und 62 sind antiken Möbelstücken nachempfunden,

sie sollen den Eindruck erwecken, als hätten diese Möbelstücke bereits eine lange

Geschichte hinter sich. Im Detail werden von uns abgegriffene und abgenutzte Kanten

durch gekonntes und bewusst unregelmäßiges Anschleifen der Kanten, die im Gebrauch

besonders strapaziert sind, erzeugt. Facetten und Kanten an Profilierungen werden mit

Kontrastfarben bewusst etwas unregelmäßig von Hand ausgelegt. Jedes Möbelstück

wird durch diese individuellen Unregelmäßigkeiten und Gebrauchsspuren zu einem

unverwechselbaren Einzelstück. Die sichtbaren Vitrinenrückwände sowie die Rückwände

der offenen Regale werden immer kirschbaumfarbig poliert. Diese Oberflächen sind für den

schonenden Gebrauch gedacht.

Le superfi ci di questi mobili vengono ricoperte, secondo

un’antica tradizione e con fasi di impegnativo lavoro ma-

nuale, con fogli di metallo color oro o argento. La partico-

lare struttura delle fi niture si deve proprio all’applicazione

o battitura di questi sottilissimi singoli fogli di metallo che

rendono l’anticatura e la patinatura diversa in ogni parte

del mobile. Su alcuni pezzi si ottiene un aspetto anticato ed

una forte originalità grazie al trattamento aggiuntivo di una

patina stesa a mano sulle fi niture. Su queste superfi ci, parti-

colarmente delicate, viene applicata successivamente anche

una particolare lacca protettiva, che però non esenta dal

doverne tuttavia averne grande cura. Eventuali tracce di lo-

gorìo e le irregolarità della lacca sui vari spigoli, negli angoli

e sulle applicazioni in metallo, sono tipiche di questa raffi na-

ta fi nitura ed enfatizzano il look antico di questi mobili.

The fi nishes are applied according to the old tradition in

an elaborate hand process with gold-coloured or silver-

coloured metal foils. The structure of the fi nish, the anti-

quing, and the patina turn out differently from one part of

the furniture to another. This is the result of the application

of individual, extremely thin appliqués or coats that may be

rolled. With some models, the antique appearance and the

exclusivity of these fi nishes are additionally increased by a

patina layer that is applied by hand. The delicate fi nishes

are also exaggeration coated with a layer of lacquer, but

they are designed exclusively for gentle use. Traces of wear

that emerge such as worn edges of the lacquer and metal

appliqués are typical of the materials and the article; they

emphasize the antique character.

Die Oberfl ächen werden nach alter Tradition in aufwän-

diger Handarbeit mit gold- oder silberfarbenen Metallfolien

belegt. Die Oberfl ächenstruktur, Antikisierung und Patina

Patinaschicht gesteigert. Die empfi ndlichen Oberfl ächen,

werden zusätzlich mit einer Lackschicht überzogen; sind

aber ausschließlich für den schonenden Gebrauch gedacht.

Entstehende Abnutzungsspuren wie abgegriffene Kanten

von Lack und Metallapplikationen sind material- und wa-

rentypisch; sie unterstreichen den antiken Charakter.

VETRI LACCATI Variazioni di tonalità sono inevitabili e dovute alla rifrazione del colore attraverso lo spessore

del vetro. I vetri colori RAL/NCS hanno tempi di consegno più lunghi.

LACQUERED GLAZINGWith lacquered glazing, differences in colour cannot be avoided, as a result of the refraction

originating from the thickness of the glass. The RAL/NCS lacquered glasses have longer

delivery times.

LACKIERTE GLÄSER Bei lackierten Gläsern sind Farbunterschiede unvermeidlich, aufgrund der Refraktion

entstehend aus der Glasstärke. Lackierte Gläser RAL/NCS haben längere Lieferzeiten.

FERRAMENTA

La ferramenta, cioè le cerniere, i supporti dei ripiani, le maniglie, le chiavi ed i pomoli utilizzati

per i nostri mobili sono prevalentemente in ottone o in altre leghe preziose. A seconda

dell´utilizzo previsto dalla collezione, la ferramenta può essere cromata, ottonata, satinata o

antichizzata. Per maggior informazioni consultare le singole descrizioni delle collezioni.

Le serrature utilizzate non richiedono manutenzione perché trattate con grassi autolubrificanti.

Chiavi, pomelli e maniglie sono trattati con antiossidanti e pertanto non necessitano di

alcuna manutenzione.

Se nel corso del tempo si dovessero avvertire leggeri cigolii, possono essere completamente

eliminati con poche gocce di lubrificante privo di acidi. La maggiore parte delle cerniere

possono essere registrate in caso di bisogno. Tranne che per poche eccezioni, i cassetti sono

dotati di un meccanismo di bloccaggio di sicurezza.

Su alcune collezioni i cassetti sono dotati di guide metalliche con richiamo automatico.

FITTINGS

Metal fittings such as hinges, bottom supports, handles, keys, and ornaments are made

from brass or other high-quality alloys. Depending upon the design, they are chromed, tin-

plated, brass-plated, frosted lacquered, or antiqued.

Locks from Selva are maintenance free, since they are provided with a special grease. Keys,

knobs, and handles have coated finishes, are corrosion resistant, and do not require any

special care. Hinges open and close smoothly. Nevertheless, if through the course of time

noises begin to appear, they can be remedied with the help of small amounts of acid-free

problem. With a few exceptions, drawers are protected from falling out.

With some collections, we use metal drawer guides. These increase the ease of use, make

possible a light, quiet opening, and control the silent closing process of the drawers by

means of their self-closing.

BESCHLÄGE

Metallbeschläge wie Scharniere, Bodenträger, Griffe, Schlüssel und Schilder sind aus

Messing oder anderen hochwertigen Legierungen. Sie sind je nach Ausführung verchromt,

vermessingt, satiniert lackiert oder antikisiert.

Schlösser sind wartungsfrei, da sie von uns mit einem Spezialfett ausgerüstet werden.

Schlüssel, Knöpfe und Griffe haben veredelte Oberflächen, sie sind korrosionsbeständig

und bedürfen keiner besonderen Pflege.

Scharniere sind leichtgängig. Sollten trotzdem im Laufe der Zeit Geräusche auftreten, so

kann man sie mit Hilfe von geringen Mengen säurefreier Schmiermittel wieder beheben.

Die meisten verwendeten Scharniere können bei Bedarf problemlos nachgestellt werden.

Schubladen sind bis auf wenige Ausnahmen gegen Herausfallen gesichert.

Bei einigen Kollektionen verwenden wir Schubladenführungen in Metall, sie erhöhen

den Bedienkomfort, ermöglichen einen leichten, ruhigen Lauf und regeln durch ihren

Selbsteinzug das geräuschlose Schließen der Schubladen.

Perché la gioia di aver acquistato un mobile Selva si mantenga a lungo nel tempo sono

necessari alcuni piccoli accorgimenti Asportando regolarmente la polvere con un panno

manterrete la bellezza delle superfici. Così facendo sarà infatti improbabile che sulla

superficie dei vostri mobili si possano formare delle macchie. Per pulire uno sporco più

intenso va semplicemente usato un po‘ di detergente neutro per mobili. Gocce d‘acqua

e di alcol vanno rimossi immediatamente perché potrebbero aggredire la superficie e

causare macchie. Non usate mai detergenti aggressivi: di norma contengono solventi

o sostanze chimiche che aggrediscono e danneggiano irreparabilmente le superfici.

I piani realizzati in pelle conferiscono ai mobili un aspetto raffinato e di prestigio.

Evitare di rovesciare acqua o agenti chimici e di evitare usure e sfregamenti violenti.

Oggetti particolarmente pesanti hanno bisogno di un adeguato supporto protettivo

che annulli eventuali segni sulla superficie rivestita. La pelle ha bisogno di tanto in

tanto di manutenzione.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF SELVA FURNITURE

In order to be able to enjoy Selva furniture for many years after purchase, a certain care

is necessary. By dusting regularly, the beauty of the lacquered finishes will be preserved.

In this way, individual spots on the furniture will in all probability not stick persistently.

To remove stubborn soiling, a small amount of furniture polish should be used. Drops of

water or alcohol must be quickly wiped away as they can attack the finishes and cause

stains. Aggressive cleaning agents should never be used since they generally contain

solvents or chemical substances which attack the lacquered finishes or can even damage

them irreparably.

The table tops in leather underscore the simple elegance and emphasize the value of every

single piece of furniture. Contact with moisture, alcohol, chemicals, greases or fats, or other

strong abrasives should absolutely be avoided. Heavy objects should be placed on a suitable

underlay in order to avoid leaving an indentation. Leather requires protective care and

cleaning from time to time.

FURNITURE COSMETICS (TOUCHUP SET)

Selva offers a special Touchup Set with which signs of use that occur over the course of time

may be touched up or removed.

PFLEGE UND INSTANDHALTUNG DER SELVA MÖBEL

Damit die Freude am Selva-Möbel auch noch viele Jahre nach dem Kauf anhält, bedarf

es einer gewissen Pflege. Durch regelmäßiges Staubwischen bleibt die Schönheit

der lackierten Oberflächen erhalten. Auf diese Weise setzen sich Einzelflecken auf

den Möbeln mit aller Wahrscheinlichkeit erst gar nicht fest. Zum Entfernen stärkerer

Verschmutzungen sollte eine geringe Menge Möbel-Lotion verwendet werden.

Wassertropfen oder Alkohol müssen rasch abgewischt werden, sie könnten die

Oberflächen angreifen und Flecken verursachen. Aggressive Pflegemittel sollten

niemals verwendet werden, da sie in der Regel Lösemittel oder chemische Substanzen

enthalten, welche die lackierten Oberflächen angreifen oder sogar irreparabel

zerstören können.

Die Ablageplatten in Leder unterstreichen die schlichte Eleganz und heben die

Wertigkeit jedes einzelnen Möbels hervor. Kontakt mit Feuchtigkeit, Alkohol, chemische

Wirkstoffe, Fette oder starker Abrieb sollte unbedingt vermieden werden. Schwere

Gegenstände sollten auf einer geeigneten Unterlage aufliegen, um entsprechende

Abdrücke zu vermeiden. Leder bedarf von Zeit zu Zeit einer schonenden Pflege und

Reinigung.

Selva bietet ein spezielles Ausbesserungs-Set an, mit dem im Laufe der Zeit entstandene

Gebrauchsspuren überarbeitet oder behoben werden können.
