The Formula K project kicked off at the end of 2009 by will of four people (in alphabetical order in the photos): Nunzio Annovi, Andrea Bertolini, Pietro Corradini and Roberto Ninzoli. Motorsports professionals and lovers who have decided to create Formula K, investing in it all their passion and expertise. A dedicated and professional karting team that works to improve day by day and make true every driver’s dream to race with a single-seater.

KarttechIn making its chassis Formula K employs last generation machines that allow to work with maximum precision in the delicate process of bending tubes: thanks to these procedures the material’s full mechanical properties are retained in each frame produced. The resulting chassis thus guarantees top track performance and total resistance to shocks and stress. The material FK uses is a chromium-molybdenum steel alloy. This kind of metal combines resistance and lightness, key elements to be competitive on any kind of track.

//Il telaio Formula K viene realizzato utilizzando macchinari di ultima generazione che permettono di intervenire con massima precisione nella delicata operazione della piegatura dei tubi: grazie a queste procedure le proprietà meccaniche del materiale non subiscono alcuna variazione in ogni scocca prodotta. Il telaio che ne esce fornisce quindi massima resa in pista e resistenza totale alle sollecitazioni cui il kart è sottoposto. Il materiale scelto da FK è una lega di acciaio al cromo molibdeno: un metallo che associa resistenza a grande leggerezza, elementi indispensabili per essere competitivi su ogni pista.

“C’s” Some points on a frame are under more stress than others. This is why Formula K carves the front “C’s” of the frame out of solid metal, using numerical control machines that allow for maximum precision in the production process.

OriginalitYAfter two years of apprenticeship, data gathering and testing, Formula K has created its very own homologue. Its originality is guaranteed by a metal plate that bears the company logo, the chassis model number and the homologation code assigned by CIK-FIA, the international karting federation.

Il Formula K KZ nasce per correre nelle categorie a marce ed è stato costruito per competere ad alto livello in tutte le gare Nazionali e Internazionali. Il KZ è disponibile in tre diverse configurazioni di telaio: FK 01, FK 02 ed FK 03 con tubi di diametro diverso, mixati per ottenere la migliore guidabilità. I materiali con cui le scocche e le componenti Formula K vengono realizzati offrono il miglior compromesso fra leggerezza e resistenza, questo anche grazie alle dettagliate indicazioni ricavate dai test in pista effettuati dal racing team ufficiale. L’impianto frenante del modello KZ è presente, come da regolamento, sia sull’asse anteriore sia su quello posteriore: lo caratterizzano pinze ricavate dal pieno, i cui supporti sono realizzati in ergal e i dischi che sono autoventilati e flottanti. La doppia pompa frenante viene azionata, naturalmente, dal pedale. Particolare cura è stata dedicata alla realizzazione delle “C” e dei fuselli con macchinari a controllo numerico di ultima generazione. Su ogni modello, poi, è possibile montare numerosi accessori in magnesio quali mozzi anteriori e posteriori, cerchi e gusci portacuscinetto.

Rotax dd2

The brake assembly is a close relative of the one in the KZ, with a double pump acting on both rear and front axles (and a pair of front floating and self-ventilated discs). Every other feature, from materials used to attention for detail, makes the FK DD2 a true Formula K kart.

Il modello Rotax DD2 nasce per la categoria a due marce del monomarca Rotax. Il DD2 necessita di alcune modifiche strutturali per sottostare al regolamento: c’è un solo cuscinetto nella parte posteriore del kart, perché il motore utilizzato nel trofeo monomarca è realizzato in maniera tale da trasmettere il moto

all’assale senza catena. L’impian to frenante è stretto parente di quello KZ con una doppia pompa che agisce sui due assi (nell’anteriore c’è una coppia di dischi flottanti e autoventilati). Per il resto, dai materiali con cui è progettato all’attenzione al dettaglio, l’FK DD2 è un kart della famiglia Formula K.

The Rotax DD2 model was born for the two-speed category of the Rotax single-brand series and so it has been structurally modified to meet regulatory requirements: infact, there is just one bearing in the rear, since the engine used in the Rotax trophy transmits motion to the axle without using a chain.

The technical card for the Rotax DD2 is the same as for the Rotax Senior (see box above). All features are identical except for the optional magnesium gearwheel hub, absent in the DD2.//La scheda tecnica del Rotax DD2 è la stessa di quella del Rotax Senior (vedi box sopra). Rotax junioR Rotax senioR

The Rotax Junior model, created by Formula K to race in the Rotax single-brand series, recalls the KF3 model: the brake assembly is on the rear axle and includes the caliper carved from solid metal and with ergal supports and a self-ventilated and floating disc. The “C”’s and spindle bolts are made with last generation numerical control machines.

Il modello Rotax Junior, realizzato da Formula K per correre nel monomarca che si disputa con i motori Rotax, ricalca il modello KF3: l’impianto frenante è sull’asse posteriore, la pinza è ricavata dal pieno con supporti in ergal e disco autoventilato e flottante, mentre “C” e fuselli sono prodotti con macchinari a controllo numerico di ultima generazione.

The Rotax Senior model, created by Formula K to race in the Rotax single-brand series, recalls the KF2 model: it has rear and front brake assemblies (with manual activation up front), calipers carved out of solid metal with ergal supports, self-ventilated and floating discs, and “C”’s and spindle bolts made with numerical control technology.

The Mini kart by Formula K is made for younger drivers to race in national competitions in both the 60 Mini and 60 Baby classes. The CSAI homologated chassis has 28 mm diametre tubing and is made with the same materials and care as its “big brothers”: for instance, it too has a rear floating and self-ventilated brake disc. Il kart Mini di Formula K è dedicato ai più piccoli e permette di disputare le gare nazionali nelle categorie 60 Mini e 60 Baby. La scocca, omologata CSAI, ha tubi con diametro 28 mm e il kart viene realizzato con gli stessi materiali e la medesima cura con cui sono prodotti i “fratelli maggiori”: per fare un esempio, come gli altri, dispone di un freno posteriore con disco flottante e autoventilato.

The first non-competitive approach to karts: the Delfino FK is made for kids ages 4 to 8. Produced with the same attention to detail as always, the frame is made of 25 mm tubing and the kart comes with a 4-stroke Honda engine with pull-start ignitition. The product is ready for track use in all safety, for both drivers and parents.Il primo approccio non competitivo al kart: il Delfino FK è dedicato ai bambini che vanno da 4 a 8 anni. Nella realizzazione si è mantenuta comunque l’attenzione al dettaglio di sempre: il telaio ha tubi da 25 mm e il kart è venduto con motore Honda a 4 tempi con accensione a strappo. Il prodotto è così pronto per essere utilizzato subito in pista con la massima sicurezza per il pilota e, di conseguenza, i genitori.

Kart all 360o

Formula K aims to bring the Formula 1 experience to the world of karts: this is why it has spent time on track with All in Sports to create the first simulator for this motorsport. The tool is key for the improvement of all Formula K from drivers to products and has been developed also thanks to Andrea Bertolini, testing expert of Ferrari’s Client Racing Department, Maserati FIA GT1 driver, and test driver for Scuderia Ferrari F1. // Formula K vuole portare l’esperienza della Formula 1 in kart: ecco perché insieme alla All in Sports ha lavorato in pista per realizzare il primo simulatore per questa categoria del motorsport. Uno strumento fondamentale per il miglioramento di tutta Formula K, dai piloti ai prodotti, che è stato reso possibile grazie anche al lavoro di Andrea Bertolini, esperto tester del Reparto Corse Clienti Ferrari, pilota Maserati FIA GT1 e collaudatore Scuderia Ferrari F1.

Kart simulator //Il simulatore per il kart

Each Formula K kart that races is surrounded by a cutting-edge structure. First, production: karts are manufactured following guidelines developed by the race team and with last generation technology and top choice materials. And it all happens inside the brand new 2,000 sqm warehouse that includes a 180 sqm showroom and 480 sqm of offices and apartments for drivers and mechanics. Formula K also follows high standards on track: on every international trip the trailer offers a 215 sqm operations base where mechanics service karts and collect data for day to day improvements of all Formula K products.

//Kart a 360°Intorno a un kart Formula K che corre sull’asfalto, c’è una struttura di primo livello. La produzione, intanto, con i kart che, secondo i dettami imposti dal racing team, vengono realizzati con macchinari di ultima generazione e materiali di prima scelta. Il tutto all’interno di un nuovissimo capannone da 2.000 mq nel quale sorgono 180 mq di showroom, 480 mq di uffici e appartamenti per piloti e meccanici. Formula K mantiene gli stessi standard operativi anche in pista: in ogni trasferta Internazionale il bilico consente di creare una base operativa da 215 mq all’interno della quale i meccanici possono intervenire sui kart e raccogliere i dati necessari a migliorare i prodotti Formula K giorno dopo giorno.
