Our take on the new products is a direct and consequential effect of the new direction the planet and the way we live today has taken. The new now has inevitably forced us to rethink our living spaces blurring the lines between domestic life and work life. For this reason, we have embraced a new décor direction steeped in the warmth and richness of materials and in their organic juxtaposition. Objects and designs are dictated by textures and refined resources in a non-minimal manner – wood takes on a new role, with its marquetry details and treatments, metal becomes warmer, concrete isn’t as nihilistic anymore. And to preserve Molteni’s tradition, we drew from the masterly and unparalleled graphic work of Gio Ponti, a visionary whose multidisciplinary opus has, and will inspire generations to come.”Vincent Van Duysen

“Il 2020 è stato caratterizzato da molti bruschi cambiamenti. Il mondo intero – ognuno di noi – ha sperimentato una battuta di arresto nella propria vita. Il nostro inserimento di nuovi prodotti è una risposta diretta e un effetto che consegue alla nuova direzione che il nostro pianeta e il nostro modo di vivere stanno prendendo oggi. Il nuovo ora ci ha inevitabilmente imposto di ripensare gli spazi in cui viviamo cancellando il confine tra vita in casa e la vita nel mondo del lavoro. Per questa ragione abbiamo intrapreso una nuova direzione di arredo immersa nel calore e nella completezza di materiali e nella loro armonica integrazione. Oggetti e design sono dettati da strutture e da mezzi raffinati in una modalità non scarna – il legno assume un ruolo nuovo, con i suoi dettagli a specchiatura e le sue finiture, il metallo assume toni più caldi, il cemento non è più così in contrasto con la tradizione. Milanese designer Francesco Meda tackles the problem with his XY project, a universal accessorized system that can match every model of Dada kitchens, whether wall-mounted or self-standing islands. Sistema XY, a name that recalls the Cartesian coordinates, develops vertically and horizontally by means of a series of extruded profiles. The basic “axis” of the design is a central accessorizable channel, featuring ad hoc spaces for items such as knife holders, chopping boards, spice jars, salt & pepper grinders, electric plug units, smoke extraction hoods, plate racks. Even the sections themselves can house different sliding accessories, including a wooden 130 x 130 cm board, that can be used as an informal table. On the same track, uprights can be installed, also vertically, to support a system of aluminium shelves that can be finished in different materials such as wood or stainless steel. Thanks to this flexibility, different configurations can lead to different visual effects, warmer if wood is used, more industrial and technical in the case of stainless steel. The underside of the shelves feature a recess to house LEDs. The shelf-bearing uprights can feature a section for inserting the hooks on which to hang gadgets, wine glasses, kitchen paper rolls, etc. This rail offers great freedom of movement for the accessories which can move and be freely positioned in the kitchen, always within easy reach.

Francesco Meda, designer milanese, affronta il tema con il progetto XY, un sistema attrezzato universale che può essere abbinato a ogni modello di cucina Dada, sia esso sviluppato a parete sia come isola indipendente. Il Sistema XY, nome che richiama le coordinate cartesiane, si sviluppa in verticale e in orizzontale attraverso diversi profili estrusi in alluminio. Un canale attrezzabile centrale compone l’asse fondante del progetto, accogliendo vasche attrezzate, come porta coltelli, porta taglieri, porta spezie, porta condimenti, vani per le prese elettriche, cappa estrazioni fumi, scolapiatti. Anche i profili che lo compongono possono accogliere diversi accessori a scorrimento, oltre a un piano 130 x 130 cm, sempre in legno, che può essere utilizzato come tavolo informale. Sullo stesso canale si possono sviluppare anche in verticale elementi montanti a supporto di un sistema di mensole in alluminio, che possono accogliere diverse finiture per i ripiani, come legno o inox. Questa flessibilità permette configurazioni diverse che generano estetiche differenti, più calde se si utilizza il legno, più industriali e tecniche se si utilizza l’acciaio inox. Le mensole nella parte inferiore hanno un vano ricavato nell’estruso che permette l’inserimento di LED. I montanti che reggono le mensole sono in grado di ospitare un profilo che viene utilizzato per inserire i ganci porta utensili, ganci porta bicchieri da vino, porta carta ecc. Questo binario offre una grande libertà nel movimento degli accessori che possono scorrere ed essere posizionati in maniera libera nella cucina e rimanere sempre a portata di mano.

Ratio, the iconic kitchen designed by Vincent Van Duysen is now further enhanced with the introduction of some new interesting features. New bases with slatted door or with a ‘Frame’ door with handles integrated in the profile of the same thickness thus drawing a decorative frame that emphasizes the design of Ratio.

— 16 mm thick panel inserted between the baseunits prolongs the line of the handle to the floor.

— The same 16 mm thick panels can also beinserted between columns and wall units of the Hi-Line 6 collection.

Nuove soluzioni per Ratio, la cucina progettata da Vincent Van Duysen. Nuove basi a terra per ampliare le soluzioni progettuali dotate di due tipi di anta a doghe o “Frame” che integra le maniglie con profili dello stesso spessore disegnando una cornice decorativa che sottolinea il disegno di Ratio.

— Tra le basi è previsto un pannello sp. 16 mmche prolunga la linea della maniglia fino a terra.

— Possibilità di inserimento degli stessi pannellisp. 16 mm anche tra colonne e pensili dellacollezione Hi-Line 6.

The patented Sistema 7 mechanism is available also in a version for full height doors, to transform them into a system of doors with single or double opening direction. They become authentic portals between two rooms that integrate and blend into the surrounding furnishings, like real design tools that can configure the architectural space.

Il meccanismo brevettato Sistema 7 viene declinato anche in versione ante a tutta altezza, trasformandosi in un sistema di porte con apertura singola o doppia. Un vero e proprio portale di passaggio tra due ambienti che si integra e si mimetizza con l’arredo circostante, diventando un vero strumento progettuale capace di configurare lo spazio architettonico.

SISTEMA 7 WALL UNIT VINCENT VAN DUYSEN

New wall unit with an innovative opening mechanism used in the Gliss Master system by Molteni&C: Sistema 7. The core of this project is a horizontally folding mechanism that allows the doors to be moved sideways, silently and effortlessly, from their closed position to the side of the compartment. If the side is not free, they can overlap the adjacent compartment leaving it completely accessible and without occupying the space directly in front of it.

Nuovo pensile dotato di un ingegnoso meccanismo di apertura usato nel sistema Gliss Master di Molteni&C: Sistema 7. Cuore del progetto è un meccanismo basculante, brevettato, che permette, senza sforzo e silenziosamente, di traslare le ante dalla loro sede iniziale al lato del vano, se libero, oppure in sovrapposizione al vano adicente, rendendo il vano centrale totalmente accessibile e senza occupazione dell’area antistante.
