DESIGN IN ITALIA Aldo Rossi nacque nel 1931 e morì nel 1997 a Mi- lano. È considerato uno dei più grandi architetti della seconda metà del XX secolo. Negli anni ottanta venne invitato dalla Alessi a prendere parte al progetto “Tea and Coffe Piazza”. Fù durante questa intensa collaborazione che creò un oggetto tipico italiano: la caffettiera. Aldo Rossi was born in 1931 and died on 1997 in Milan. He is considered the biggest architect of the second half of the 20 th century. In the eighties, he was called by “Alessi” to take part to the project “Tea and Coffe Piazza” (Tea and Coffe Square). It was during this intensive collaboration with the Alessi that he created a typical Italian object such as the “caffettiera” (coffee maker). Questi sono alcuni schizzi prepara- tori. These are some preparatory sketches. Nel 1984 disegnò La Conica, una caffettiera dalla linea se- vera. In 1984 he designed “La Conica”, a coffee maker with a sever shape. Questa è invece La Cupola che Aldo Rossi disegnò nel 1989. Per disegnare questa caffettie- ra, si ispirò alla cupola del Brunelleschi del Duomo di Fi- renze. This is “La Cupola” which Aldo Rossi designed in 1989. To design this “caffettiera”, Aldo Rossi drew inspira- tion from the Brunelleschi’s dome of Florence’s cathedral.

Prima abbiamo colorato le varie parti della caffettiera, poi le abbiamo assemblate. First we coloured the different parts of the coffemaker and then we made them all up.

Sulla caffettiera abbiamo scritto tanti testi per descriverla. Abbiamo anche fatto delle ricerche per scoprire le origini del caffè, dove cresce e come si prepara. Poi l’abbiamo disegnata. In queste immagini le abbiamo un po’ sardizzate... We made a lot of compositions on the coffe maker to describe it. We also researched to discover the coffee origins, where it grows and how to prepare it. Then we drew it. In these pictures we made them a little Sardinian...
Nella scuola dell’infanzia abbiamo realizzato la caffettiera usando diverse tecniche. In the infant school we made the coffe maker using different techniques.
