SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Make sure that the towbar is suitable for the vehicle before starting the installation

For safety, all work involving towbar installation (incl. electrical components) must be undertaken by skilled technicians.

Damaged components must be replaced with manufacturer’s spares and fitted by qualified staff

It is forbidden to make any modification or structural repair to towing assembly

The towball must be kept clean and lubricated. For added safety, his diameter (50 mm) must be checked at regular intervals. If the towball measures less than 49 mm after selected readings across the diameter, the towball must be replaced with a new one

After 1000 km of towing, check torque settings for nuts and bolts, in accordance with the table

• Remove any mastic from contact points and paint with anti rust paint.

• Just for Focus 3 2011> Hatchback: remove the lights and the casing under the flatcar

• Remove the bumper and discard the bumper beam.• Insert side arms A inside the chassis rails and fit referring to screws 1.• Just for C-Max '10 and Grand C-Max '10: if present remove the antenna of the

parking sensors which is on the central wall of the body shell and locate it behind the same support drilling out two new holes dimensions 06.

• Locate cross bar B referring to holes 2 and 3 and tighten.• Caution: Just for Focus '11 2 volumes, locate item B on the rearward holes as

showed.• Tighten all bolts and nuts as per torque settings• Connect the wirings to the socket• Just Focus C-Max '03-'10 and Focus 2 3&5 doors: cut the bumper as showed (little

cut) • Just for Focus 3 2011> Hatchback: cut bumper and casing as showed in

attachment 1.• Connect the socket support to its support based on the type of vehicle in which

the tow bar is mounted (see sketch)• Re-fit bumper.• Just for 3 2011> Hatchback volumes: re-fit the casing and the lights.
