INFLORENCE nasce per assecondare la volontà di un gruppo di aziende che scelgono di confrontarsi

fra loro stesse al cospetto degli operatori economici italiani e stranieri. Un appuntamento, al centro dell’Italia, in un periodo dell’anno in cui si devono fare i riassortimenti per le vendite della primavera/estate. Un confronto all’insegna della competizione sulla qualità, senza l’obbligo di doversi misurare con concorrenze atipiche che basano prevalentemente sul prezzo la loro possibilità di penetrare nei mercati. Infatti tutto il processo di impostazione della manifestazione è stato improntato all’elemento base: quello della sola produzione italiana. Di più, senza presun-zioni campanilistiche, si è ritenuto importante che la mani-festazione si basasse principalmente su aziende fiorentine e toscane.Altro elemento “fondativo”, per privilegiare il valore dei pro-dotti rispetto alle forme di presentazione degli stessi, è stato trovato nella formula allestitiva: un preallestito di base per

tutti, all’insegna della sobrietà e della omogeneità, per far pri-meggiare la qualità degli oggetti. L’idea della manifestazione espositiva nasce quindi dall’esigenza di alcune aziende arti-giane fiorentine di affrontare attivamente la difficile situazione economica mondiale, dato che nel panorama fieristico fio-rentino e toscano era venuta a mancare una manifestazione espositiva destinata agli operatori economici.Come obiettivo importante di INFLORENCE, a medio termi-ne, è stato posto anche quello di dare un contributo alla riva-lutazione di settori merceologici un po’ trascurati, nel mondo del grande business, dall’imposizione nella sfera del privato di prodotti legati alla tecnologia e del tempo libero.Un vivo ringraziamento per la collaborazione offerta per la nascita della manifestazione va rivolto a CNA Firenze, Confar-tigianato Imprese Firenze, Camera di Commercio di Firenze (e la sua agenzia Promofirenze), Provincia di Firenze.

IN FLORENCE was established to satisfy the wish of a group of firms that choose to foster an exchange

in the presence of Italian and foreign businesses. An event in the centre of Italy, at a time of year when businesses are replenishing their stock for spring/summer sales.A comparison under the banner of quality competition, without having to face atypical competition whose ability to penetrate the market is mainly based on price. In fact, the whole process of setting up the event was based on one thing: Italian Production Only. Furthermore, without provincial presumptions, it was considered important that the event be based primarily on Florentine and Tuscan businesses.Another “fundamental” element for prioritizing the product value was the choice to present the businesses in an exhibition formula: a basic exhibition shell for everyone, focusing on simplicity and uniformity, to highlight the quality of the items.

The idea of the exhibition event grew out of the need of some Florentine artisan businesses to actively address the difficult global economic situation, given that in the arena of Florentine and Tuscan trade fairs, an exhibition aimed at small business economic operators was lacking.As INFLORENCE’s important medium term objective, it was also put in place to make a contribution to the revaluation of some sectors’ that, in the world of big business, have been somewhat neglected, due to the imposition, in the private sphere, of products related to technology and leisure.A heartfelt thanks for their cooperation in the creation of the event should go to CNA Firenze, Confartigianato Imprese Firenze, Florence Chamber of Commerce (and its agency Promofirenze), and the Province of Florence.

Benvenuta inflorence! Quando, poco più di un anno fa, con un gruppo di amici e colleghi, abbiamo

pensato che ci sarebbe piaciuto allestire nuovamente una “vetrina” per le aziende nella nostra città, mi domandavo se questo fosse un desiderio velleitario o se la condivisione con tanti altri soggetti imprenditoriali di riportare a Firenze un appuntamento con la qualità, poteva destare l’interesse delle Istituzioni locali, delle Associazioni sindacali delle categorie produttive, dell’insieme del mondo dell’imprenditoria.Una piccola scintilla, voleva essere la nostra spinta, per ac-cendere un fuoco in grado di illuminare il sistema.Ce l’abbiamo fatta, INFLORENCE parte, piccola ma bella, nel rispetto delle regole che ci siamo voluti dare fin dall’ini-zio e che ci auguriamo siano apprezzate dagli operatori che ci verranno a fare visita.Desidero ringraziare chi con me ha fatto i primi passi nell’”avventura” ed ha continuato a collaborare per in-

Welcome inflorence! When, a little over a year ago, with a group of friends and colleagues, we thought we

would like to set up a showcase for businesses in our city, I wondered if this was wishful thinking or if the desire shared by many other entrepreneurs to bring this quality event to Florence again could arouse the interest of local institutions, trade unions, various producers, and the entire business world.A small spark urged us on, to light a fire that could illuminate the system.We did it. INFLORENCE is taking off, small but beautiful, in accordance with the rules we wished to establish from the very beginning and we hope will be appreciated by the operators who will be visiting us.I would like to thank those who, with me, took the first steps in this adventure and continue to work together to instil in others, confidence in the endeavour we are promoting, in

particular Simone Petri and Vincenzo Mancini, and those members of the Technical Committee assembled along the way, who decided to lend us their experience (Patrizia Bacarella, Lorenzo Marconcini, Andrea Marzi, Marcello Pecchioli, Piero Peroni, Giovanni Perrone, Piero Picchi, Paolo Ugolini, Piero Vannucci) to launch the first edition.And a special thanks is due to all of the people of SICREA, which on accepting the desideratum of us entrepreneurs, has been able to pick up the gauntlet and lead the creation of INFLORENCE to this first event in a professional manner.

Le iniziative di approfondimento

Una fiera è principalmente un luogo di scambi com-

merciali, ma un appuntamento in cui operatori di

tante parti del mondo si incontrano crea anche l’oppor-

tunità di apprezzare elementi che racchiudono qualche

cosa in più rispetto alla necessità di essere presenti sui

mercati.

Oggetti che sono stati creati per essere alla fine venduti,

ma la cui nascita ha una storia che esula talvolta dalle

capacità ideative dell’azienda che li ha prodotti (e sono

stati progettati da altri), oppure nascono a seguito di uno

stimolo specifico ed occasionale. A INFLORENCE si po-

tranno vedere tre corner ad alta creatività che rispondo-

no a questi criteri.

STUfe PaZZe INFLORENCE ospita una piccola mostra di grande sug-

gestione, Le Stufe Pazze delle Ceramiche Castellamonte.

Una selezione di stufe artistiche in ceramica di grandi

dimensioni che reinterpretano capolavori d’arte o si ispi-

rano a temi o soggetti diversi.

Il laboratorio Ceramiche Castellamonte nasce verso la

fine degli anni ‘70 con l’intento di riportare alla luce il

grosso bagaglio culturale e storico che lega, fin dal 1700,

la cittadina di Castellamonte alla produzione di cerami-

che. Questo comune in provincia di Torino, è famoso

infatti per la lavorazione in ceramica e per la manifattura

di stufe artigianali in questo materiale.

Agli anni ’80 risale l’idea di realizzare le Stufe Pazze, con

la creazione della Post Stufa (1983), alla quale va il me-

rito di aver dimostrato che si poteva essere “Stufa di Ca-

stellamonte” anche senza riproporre gli stili del passato.

Seguiranno poi negli anni omaggi ad artisti e correnti

artistiche come Enrico Baj e Fortunato Depero e stufe

d’autore ad opera di artisti e designer contemporanei

come l’ Empire Fire Building, creata dal Designer Sante

Segato, che si modifica nella forma diventando un grat-

tacielo in mezzo alle nuvole, la Maternità di Candido Fior

o ancora l’ interpretazione dell’Artista Elio Torrieri con

Verdefuoco.

Non solo. Il Laboratorio, attualmente diretto da Giam-

pietro Elisa, con il supporto artistico di Adriano Filippi,

consente di creare e realizzare stufe originali, partendo

dall’idea particolare e fantasiosa di chiunque voglia ri-

scaldare la propria abitazione con un tocco d’arte in più.

ceraMicHe Per il MUSeo Del fUTUro La collezione di ceramica contemporanea d’autore di

Este Ceramiche Porcellane srl si è andata formando in

occasione delle tre Triennali di Este, città della cerami-

ca. Nessuna materia come la terra, lavorata dall’uomo

con sapienza antica, porta con sé quell’aura di magia

creativa e di abilità. Si parte dalla pura argilla come ma-

teria prima per arrivare al prodotto artistico progettato

da autori - designer di generazioni e radici diverse, ma

tutti molto riconoscibili nei loro progetti per quella ma-

trice personale che è indice di forte individualità artisti-

ca. Questo incontro è un raro e riuscito esempio della

collaborazione fra progettisti e maestranze che si sono

prestati per rilanciare le qualità, le capacità e ritrovare

nuovi spunti per il prodotto contemporaneo.


SeDie in aria “Sedie in Aria” è il titolo dell’installazione cha vede pro-

tagoniste, all’ingresso della Stazione Leopolda, le crea-

zioni artistiche di Sonia Coppi, trentacinquenne psico-

motricista ed educatrice per bambini disabili.

Audrey Hepburn, Brad Pitt, il David di Michelangelo, Bat-

man, la Vespa 50 e tantissimi altri sono i soggetti a cui

Sonia si ispira per creare le sue “sedie”, coloratissimi og-

getti d’arredo, ormai divenuti autentici pezzi di design.

Il progetto, inaugurato nella primavera del 2009, è nato

con l’intento di personalizzare semplici oggetti d’arredo,

come le sedute, vivacizzando al contempo l’ambiente

domestico dove vengono collocate. Un modo per rende-

re più allegra la casa e rendere più piacevole la convivia-

lità. L’idea è piaciuta così tanto che da allora quello della

“seggiolaia” è diventato un secondo lavoro.

Le sedie dopo essere state trattate e preparate sono re-

alizzate interamente a mano con tecnica pittorica mista

che prevede l’utilizzo, a seconda del soggetto, di colori

acrilici e ad acqua, stucchi, gessi, tessuti e minuterie me-

talliche, inserimento di resine e glitter. Alla pittura segue

un trattamento di vetrificazione con prodotti professio-

nali che rende la sedia lavabile e protetta. La produzione

limitata garantisce l’accuratezza di esecuzione: i lavori in-

fatti, in ogni fase, vengono eseguiti interamente a mano.


A trade fair is primarily a place for commercial exchan-ges, but an event in which players from many parts of

the world meet also creates the opportunity to appreciate elements that involve something more than just the need for a presence on the markets.Objects that were created to be sold at the end, but whose creation has a history that sometimes is beyond the design capabilities of the company that produced them (and have been designed by others), or are created as a result of a specific and occasional stimulus. At INFLORENCE, there are three highly creative corners that will meet these criteria.

STUfe PaZZe INFLORENCE hosts a small, yet very suggestive exhibition, Le Stufe Pazze by Ceramiche Castellamonte. A selection of large, artistic ceramic stoves which reinterpret masterpieces of art, or are inspired by different themes or subjects. The Ceramiche Castellamonte workshop opened near the end of the 1970s with the intention of revealing the rich cultural and historical background that has linked, since 1700, the town of Castellamonte to the production of ceramics. This town in the province of Turin is, in fact, famous for its ceramics manufacture and for the artisan stoves made with this material. The idea of realizing the Stufe Pazze (Crazy Stoves) dates back to the 1980s, with the creation of the Post Stufa (1983), which can be given credit for having demonstrated that there can be “Stufa di Castellamonte” stoves made without reproposing styles of the past.

Focus initiatives


Over the years, there have followed tributes to artists and artistic trends such as Enrico Baj and Fortunato Depero and a line of artistic stoves created by contemporary artists and designers such as the Empire Fire Building, by the designer Sante Segato, which changes shape to become a skyscraper amidst clouds, the Maternity by Candido Fior or, again, the interpretation of the artist Elio Torrieri with Verdefuoco.Not only. In the workshop, currently directed by Giampietro Elisa, with the artistic support of Adriano Filippi, it is possible to create and realize original stoves, starting from the particular and imaginative idea of anyone who wants to heat their own home while adding an artistic touch.

ceraMicS for THe MUSeUM of THe fUTUre The collection of contemporary artistic ceramics “Este Ceramiche” has taken form on the occasion of the three Triennial Exhibitions of Este, a “town of ceramics”.No material more than earth, worked by man with ancient mastery, is accompanied by such an aura of creative magic and skilfulness.We start with pure clay as our raw material, to create an artistic product designed by artists - of different generations and with different roots, but all very recognizable in their designs for that personal matrix which is an indication of their strong artistic individuality.This encounter is a rare and successful example of collaboration between designers and craftsmen who have contributed to relaunch qualities and skills and to discover new inspirations for the production of contemporary ceramics.


SeDie in aria “Sedie in Aria” (“Chairs in the Air”), is the title of an installation at the entrance of the Stazione Leopolda whose protagonists will be the artistic creations of Sonia Coppi, a thirty-five-year-old psychomotricist and educator of disabled children. Audrey Hepburn, Brad Pitt, Michelangelo’s David, Batman, the Vespa 50 scooter are just a few of the many subjects which inspire Sonia in creating her “chairs”: colourful, decorative objects which have, by now, become authentic design pieces. The project, inaugurated in the Spring of 2009, was started with the intention of personalizing simple pieces of furniture, such as chairs, and, at the same time, of enlivening any room of the home in which they were placed.

A way to make a home more cheerful, and conviviality more enjoyable. The idea was so well liked that since then, “chair-making” has become her second job.The chairs, after having been treated and prepared, are realized entirely by hand with a mixed pictorial technique that calls for the use, depending on the subject, of acrylic or water-based colours, putties, plaster, fabrics and small metal items, the addition of resins and glitter. Painting is followed by vitrification with professional products that protects and makes the chair washable. The limited production guarantees accuracy of execution: in fact, all the work, in each and every stage, is done entirely by

hand.


L’accoglienza

La denominazione della manifestazione, INFLORENCE,

non ha voluto indicare solo il luogo di svolgimento

(Italia – Firenze), ma ha avuto il compito di trasmettere

con immediatezza e automaticamente tutto il vissuto del

prodotto artigianale con le sue nobili discendenze dalla

arti maggiori nel Rinascimento. Proprio in questa città!

Non solo quindi le aziende che espongono alla Stazione

Leopolda, ma anche la città è stata coinvolta.

Si sono resi disponibili numerosi fra i più qualificati ri-

storanti tipici fiorentini per accogliere con sensibili faci-

litazioni gli operatori; il Consorzio Firenze Albergo, che

conta oltre 150 strutture ricettive di ogni livello fra i propri

associati, ha concesso un ragguardevole sconto del 25%

agli operatori.

Sono stati programmati per i nostri ospiti, a titolo gratuito,

i seguenti percorsi, di grande suggestione, nella Firenze

dell’arte e in quella dell’artigianato (su prenotazione alla

segreteria della mostra).

Visita al S.A.M. (Spazio Arti Mestieri, Via Giano della Bella,

20/1), un suggestivo edificio che ospita stabilmente nu-

merose botteghe artigiane, accompagnati dalla direzione.

Alle ore 19.00 verrà offerto un drink agli ospiti prenotati

da INFLORENCE.

Nella stessa giornata, in occasione una festa aperta a tutta

la città (LUNGO UN GIORNO), si potrà accedere libera-

mente dalle ore 10.30.

INFLORENCE ha partecipato alla festa allestendo una “ta-

vola imbandita” con i prodotti di alcune aziende esposi-

trici.


Reception

The name of the event, INFLORENCE, not only wishes to

indicate the venue (Italy - Florence), but also immediately

and automatically transmit the whole experience of the

artisan crafts, with its noble descent from the fine arts in the

Renaissance. Right in this city!

Not only the businesses exhibiting at the Stazione Leopolda,

but the city too has been involved.

Some of the most qualified typical Florentine restaurants

have made themselves available for catering to deal

with larger numbers of operators; the Consorzio Firenze

Albergo, which has more than 150 facilities of all levels

among its associates, has granted a considerable discount

of 25% for operators.

A number of tours, free of charge, in the highly suggestive

artistic sites of Florence, and in the craft sector, have

been planned (by appointment at the secretariat of the

exhibition).

monumental quarters of Palazzo Vecchio, departing from

Church, Chiesa di Ognissanti to see the Cenacolo (Last


Supper) by Ghirlandaio and Giotto’s Crocifisso (Crucifix),

departing from the Stazione Leopolda. Concludes at ap-

proximately 12:30.

Saturday 26 at 18:00: visit to the S.A.M. (Spazio Arti Me-

stieri, Via Giano della Bella, 20 / 1), a striking building that

houses several permanent workshops, accompanied by

the management. At 19:00 a drink will be offered to guests

booked by INFLORENCE.

The same day, as it is a party open to the entire city (ALL

DAY LONG), there is free access from 10:30 on.

INFLORENCE is participating in the party by setting up a

“table laden” with the products of some of the exhibitors.
