La trasmissione avviene ogni anno, attraverso il sistema NSIS (Nuovo Sistema Informativo Sanitario) e richiede la generazione di tracciati specifici con numerosi campi obbligatori (transcodifica tra dati di origine ed anagrafiche EFSA).

I tracciati record stabiliti da EFSA contengono le informazioni volte a garantire la tracciabilità lungo tutta la filiera del campione.
