Eugenio Bruschi nasce a Badia a Ripoli nella provincia di Firenze ottantatre anni fa. Dopo essersi diplomato si iscrive all’Università, contemporaneamente intra-prende varie esperienze lavorative e malgrado il parere contrario del padre, sceglie la libera professione. Attraversa anni duri, ma costruttivi, nel tempo diviene un affermato imprenditore, titolare di un’importante azienda stimata in Italia ed in Europa. Attivo anche sul fronte dell’impegno associativo, è nominato alla fi ne degli anni 60’ presidente regionale della Confapi. Sensibile ai problemi del territo-rio, collabora con le istituzioni di Bagno a Ripoli dove ancora oggi vive e lavora. Amante delle arti, attratto dalla bellezza e dalla vita nell’accezione più ampia del termine, Geo (come tutti amichevolmente lo chiamano) è un viaggiatore entu-siasta. Fa il primo viaggio a Roma in bicicletta,va ad Amburgo in vespa, in auto a Capo Nord, a Gerusalemme ed a Bombay. Affascinato dall’ignoto proseguirà sempre più a viaggiare adattandosi a qualsiasi diffi coltà. Esploratore nell’animo visita più di 130 paesi del mondo (Africa, Cina, Medio Oriente, Americhe, Austra-lia, Oceania, Russia, Europa) che documenta con reportages fotografi ci sempre più perfezionati, sviluppando la passione per la fotografi a e riuscendo a fi ssare lo splendore di paesaggi, animali, colori, costumi e volti. Sono proprio i volti quelli che preferisce fotografare e dei quali coglie tutta l’intensità espressiva. Partico-larmente interessato alla spiritualità d’Oriente si reca in India moltissime volte, ne scopre la diversità ed il valore, sviluppa un senso di coesione eccezionale e profon-do con le persone ed i luoghi. E’ così anche per la Spagna, da sempre attratto dal rischio (è alpinista in arrampicata libera e pilota di aereo), vive in prima persona la grande emozione della Corrida percorrendo l’Encierro a Pamplona; conosce toreri come Dominguin, Paco Camino, Diego Puerta e tanti altri. Alla fi ne del 2012 è in Guatemala per la Profezia dei Maya e nel Gennaio di quest’anno riparte nuovamente per l’India, ad Allahabad, assiste al Kumba Mela, il più grande pel-legrinaggio del mondo. Un grande viaggiatore come Geo non poteva mancare ad un evento così straordinario.

Eugenio Bruschi was born in Badia a Ripoli in the province of Florence eighty-three years ago. After graduating he enters the University contemporarily under-taking various work experiences and, despite the advice of his father, chooses the free profession. Going through tough but constructive years, in time he becomes a successful businessman, owner of a major company esteemed both in Italy and in Europe. He also works in association with the confederation of Italian industries and is appointed regional president of Confapi at the end of the 60s’. Sensitive to the problems of the territory, he collaborates with the institutions of Bagno a Ripoli where he still lives and works. Lover of the arts, attracted by the beauty and life in the widest sense of the term, Geo (as all affably call him) is an enthusiastic traveler. His fi rst trip to Rome is by bicycle, he goes to Hamburg by Vespa-bike, to Cape North, Jerusalem and Bombay by car. Fascinated by the unknown he continues travelling more and more, adapting to any diffi culty. A real explorer, he visits more than 130 countries in the world (Africa, China, the Middle East, the Americas, Australia, Oceania, Russia, Europe) documenting everything with photographic reportages ever more sophisticated, developing a passion for photography and being able to fi x the splendor of landscapes, animals, colors, costumes and faces. Faces are the subject he prefers to photograph, capturing all their expressive inten-sity. Particularly interested in the spirituality of the East, he travels to India many times, discovering its diversity and value, developing an exceptional deep sense of cohesion with people and places. It’s so for Spain too: always attracted by the risk (he’s been a free climber and airplane pilot), Geo lives in person the thrill of the Corrida along the Encierro in Pamplona; he meets Toreros like Dominguín, Paco Camino, Diego Puerta and many others. At the end of 2012 he’s in Guatemala for the Mayan Prophecy and in January 2013 he travels again to India, Allahabad, to attend the Kumbh Mela, the largest pilgri-mage in the world. A great traveler like Geo could not miss such an amazing event.

Il Kumba Mela è il più grande pellegrinaggio del mondo, si svolge in India ogni 12 anni, dura circa 30 giorni, nel Gennaio/Febbraio 2013 si è svolto ad Allahabad, nell’Uttar Pradesh.

Geo vi racconta com’è andata.

Durante questo pellegrinaggio, si radunano dai 30 ai 50 milioni di devoti pellegrini Induisti e Sadhu (uomini santi, asceti), per purifi carsi dei propri peccati si immergono nell’Holy San-gam, alla confl uenza dei tre fi umi sacri.

La partecipazione a questo evento è per un viaggiatore fotografo un’immensa esplosione di colori e sentimenti.

The Kumbh Mela is the largest pilgrimage in the world. It takes place in India every 12 ye-ars, it lasts about 30 days and in January-Fe-bruary 2013 it took place in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh province.

Geo tells you about what happened.

During this pilgrimage, from 30 to 50 million of Hindu pilgrims and Sadhu devotees (holy men, ascetics) gather to purify themselves of their sins by dipping in the Holy Sangam, at the confl uence of three sacred rivers.

The participation in this event is for a traveler and photographer an immense explosion of co-lors and feelings.

Fine di un’Era“Il calendario Maya sembra parlar chiaro: la data è certa, si tratta di leggenda o bisogna pre-pararsi all’Apocalisse?”Il calendario Maya di LUNGO COMPUTO ha un primo giorno nel 13.8.3113 A.C. e un ulti-mo giorno nel 21.12.2012, per un totale di 5125 anni. I Maya, la cui cultura raggiunge il verti-ce massimo nell’Astronomia, senza possedere i mezzi di osservazione e misurazione attuali, avevano capito il passare del tempo e l’impor-tanza degli equinozi già dal secondo millennio A.C.Il 21.12.2012 rappresenta la fi ne di un’era, ma i Maya non avevano mai annunciato che era la fi ne del mondo. In tutto il mondo Maya centro-americano, dal Messico al Belize, e soprattutto in Guatemala, si sono svolte celebrazioni con riti Maya in attesa della levata del primo sole del 21.12.2012. Il centro principale e le cele-brazioni più importanti si sono svolte a Tikal, nel Dipartimento del Petén, in Guatemala, alla presenza del Presidente della Repubblica e di…Geo, che ne ricorda i principali momenti nelle foto che vedete esposte.

The Maya, whose culture reached its maximum height in Astronomy, understood the passage of time and the importance of the equinoxes since the second millennium BC, without having the contemporary means of observing and measu-ring.December 21st, 2012 thus represents the end of an Era but the Maya had never announced that it was the end of the world. In the community of Central American Mayans, from Mexico to Be-lize, and especially in Guatemala, there were celebrations with Mayan rites while waiting for the sunrise of December 21st, 2012.
