MODULE 1: MONEY MATTERS

Vocabulary: Expressions with make, do, get; natural disasters.

Grammar: Make, do and get; Present Simple Passive.

Pronunciation: i suoni del participio passato in –ed: /t/, /d/, /id/ davanti a verbi che terminano in –t o –d, i suoni /i:/ ed /ɪ/, /θ/ e / ð/, il suono schwa /əә/, i suoni dell’articolo the davanti a consonanti (/ðəә/) e vocali (/ði/).

Functions: Describing processes; talking about natural disasters.

MODULE 2: MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

UNITS 9, 10, 11, 12:

Vocabulary: Exercise and fitness. The body; illnesses and remedies. Emotions. Relationships.

Grammar: used to; adverbs and comparative adverbs; verbs + to or -ing. Have / get something done; should / ought to; Why don’t you … ? You’d better… If I were you… Second Conditional; wish + Past Simple; make + object + adjective / verb. Past Perfect.

Pronunciation: il suono /æ/, i suoni /j/ e /dʒ/ in ‘Mayor’ e ‘major’, il suono /*/ per indicare una r non pienamente pronunciata.

Si è preferito rimandare al prossimo anno lo svolgimento del Modulo 4 – PET per consolidare le conoscenze e competenze pregresse degli studenti in ambito fonetico, lessicale e morfo-sintattico. Inoltre, si è preferito effettuare degli approfondimenti interdisciplinari sul Modulo 3: English Literature – Specification 2 sulla storia dell’epoca Tudor e Stuart e sui generi letterari (sonetto petrarchesco vs. sonetto shakespeariano, plays), lasciando al prossimo anno lo studio del romanzo ’700esco (Specification 3), considerato anche il termine anticipato delle attività didattiche il 19 maggio per consentire agli studenti di effettuare l’alternanza scuola-lavoro.
