INTRODUZIONE XXIV EDIZIONE: L’ISOLA DEL CINEMA PRESENTA L’ISOLA DI ROMA Il festival “L’Isola del Cinema”, giunto alla sua XXIV edizione, si confronta con le nuove realtà mul-timediali, presentandosi in una veste rinnovata che vuole essere luogo d’incontro tra tradizione ed innovazione: L’Isola del Cinema sceglie di essere quindi “contemporanea”.In questa nuova edizione, L’Isola del Cinema darà spazio alle arti ed i linguaggi che, con il loro contri-buto, vanno ad arricchire il mondo del cinema: letteratura, musica, poesia e arti visive saranno prota-goniste, assieme al Cinema, del palinsesto del festival, dando vita ad un nuovo emozionante progetto, intitolato L’ISOLA DI ROMA.Roma, dichiarata “City of Film” dall’Unesco, sarà una ribalta pronta ad accogliere queste eccellenze creative, proponendo così il nostro festival in una nuova veste: una sorta di “Isola del Cinema 4.0”, frutto del dialogo e dell’incontro tra le arti e i linguaggi cinematografici e multimediali.L’Isola Tiberina, che era stata costruita anticamente come una nave puntata verso il mondo, diventerà un “vascello della creatività contemporanea” che, partendo dalle sponde del suo “primo amore”, ossia il Cinema, vira verso quelle inesplorate della multimedialità e dei nuovi linguaggi, contribuendo così a promuovere Roma come “città moderna e universale”.

XXIV EDITION INTRODUCTION“L’Isola del Cinema” film festival, now at its XXIV edition, confronts itself with the new multimedia realities, presenting itself in a renovated vest, which seeks to be the point of encounter between translation and innovation. Then, “L’Isola del Cinema” chooses to be “contemporary”.In this new edition, “L’Isola del Cinema” will give space to those arts and languages that, with their contribution, enrich its form and content: literature, music, poetry and visual arts will be protagonists, together with Cinema, of the film festival programme, giving life to a new exciting project with the title “L’Isola di Roma”.Rome, declared “City of Film” by UNESCO, will be a forefront ready to welcome these creative excellences, proposing this way the festival in its new vest: a kind of “L’Isola del Cinema 4.0”, the result of the dialogue and encounter betwe-en arts, cinematographic and multimedia languages.The Tiber Island, built in ancient times and shaped to resemble a ship aimed towards the world, will become a “vessel of contemporary creativity” which, setting off from the shores of its “first love”, the Cinema, sails towards the new ones of multimedia and new languages, contributing this way in promoting Rome as a “modern and universal city”

L’Isola Tiberina: una nave nel mare della contemporaneità.Scriveva un celebre poeta francese: “il faut avoir le courage d’être contemporaines”Roma è una Città Universale, nata intorno all’Isola Tiberina, lì dove era più facile attraversare il fiume. Nel corso dei secoli L’Isola si è caricata di un’altissima densità storico-culturale sino a diventare oggi Patrimo-nio Artistico dell’Umanità - UNESCO.Proprio sullo sfondo di quella che gli antichi romani chiamavano “Insula Romae” il festival L’ISOLA DEL CINEMA, giunto alla sua XXIV edizione, si confronta con le nuove realtà multimediali, presentandosi in una veste rinnovata, presentando un nuovo progetto, intitolato L’ISOLA DI ROMA, che darà anche spazio a quelle arti e a quei linguaggi che da sempre sono fonti di ispirazione per il Cinema e ne arricchiscono la forma ed il contenuto. La Settima Arte è e resterà sempre “il primo amore”, l’ispirazione di base del festival Tiberino, sia con la grande attenzione e passione per il Cinema Italiano, sia nel confronto con le Cinematografie pro-venienti da ogni parte del mondo.“Un’isola che non si isola” distesa sul fiume Tevere, una “nave della creatività contemporanea” che vira verso le nuove sponde della Multimedialità, contribuendo così a promuovere Roma come “Città Moderna e Universale”.

As a french poet once said: “il faut avoir le courage d’être contemporaines”.Rome is a “Universal City”, born around the Tiber Island where it was easier to cross the river. Over the centuries, the island has acquired a high historical and cultural density, up to become today an Artistic World Heritage of UNESCO.In the background of what ancient romans used to call “Insula Romae”, the XXIV edition of “L’Isola del Cinema” film festival faces the new multimedia realities. This way, it takes a new form by presenting a new project, called “L’Isola di Roma”, which gives space also to those arts and languages that have always been of inspiration for Cinema and have enriched its form and content.The Seventh Art is, and will always be, the “first love” and fundamental inspiration of the Tiber film festival, both in the high attention and passion towards Italian Cinema and also in the confrontation with Cinema from all over the world.“An island that doesn’t isolate itself” layed on the Tiber River, a “ship of modern creativity” which sails towards the new shores of Multimedia, contributing this way in promoting Rome as a “Modern and Universal City”.

Soprattutto, è da sottolineare l’impegno degli organizzatori dell’evento di aprirsi per la prima volta verso il futuro ed altre forme di intrattenimento multimediale, in per-fetta convergenza con le politiche attuate dalla suddetta Direzione Generale. Non solo cinema, non solo film, ma anche opere transmediali, videoludiche e molto altro. The organisers’ commitment should be stressed. For the first time, they decided to open themselves to the future and to other forms of multimedia entertainment. With this approach, the organisation shows a perfect convergence with the policies applied by our current General Direction. Not only cinema, not only movies, but also transmedia and gaming works, and so on. For this edition too, we will renew our collaboration with the festival, delivering that way good results to the whole city. Movie reviews and more, dedicated to the Future and to Good Practices. Elements that concretely improve the life of the inhabitants, every day. From this standpoint, the following events take place: the review on the Social Cooperation, with relevant guests and themes, realized together with Legacoop; the “Storie di Sport”, realized in collaboration with Mauro Valeri and Valerio Piccioni; the night dedicated to the “Race Laws”, a few meters away from the Jewish Ghetto, 80 years after those despicable choices.Our project MigrArti will return: the review realized by Mibact with the new italians in order to know their stories, tra-ditions and culture always in motion. Thanks to the sensibility of Giorgio Ginori who was the first to have faith in this adventure, the MigrArti review has already become a typical event and screens the short films that won at the Venice Film Festival. La promozione dei nuovi giovani talenti avviene attraverso il la Sezione Opera Prima e Seconda, una selezione tra le migliori opere d’esordio dell’ultima stagione cinematografica. Le proiezioni saranno accompagnate dalla presenza del regista e del Cast e seguite da un dibattito moderato da un critico cinematografico.

L’Isola del Cinema has always focused on young Italian talents, giving them wide space in our festival programme, aiming at giving value and encouragement to the new cinema. The young talents will be pro-moted and encouraged through the section Opera Prima e Seconda, a selection of the best debut movies of the last season. The director and the cast will be joining the screenings which will be followed by a debate moderated by a film critic.

The storytelling, together with the freedom of expression, have the new documentaries depict the reality with freshness and dynamism, giving them a communicative power accessible to anyone.

Prodotto ed interpretato da Hugh Jackman, che ha visto in questo regista una scintilla di novità e passione incoraggiando un film che è stato da subito un successo. Il Giappone, giunto alla sua decima edizione sull’Isola, verrà accolto come da tradizione con una serata in Arena portando in anteprima italiana il mistery film “The Name” di Akihiro Toda, preceduto da due perfor-mance musicali e una degustazione di sake offerto dall’Ente Nazionale del Turismo Giapponese (JNTO). Together with Embassies and Cultural Institutes, the “Isola Mondo” festival is dedicated to the promotion of the most interesting initiatives of the guest nations, thus offering at the same time a wider view on culture, even besides cinema. In fact, the screenings will be accompanied by various side events: from literature to performing arts, from wine-tasting sessions to tourism.This year, “Isola Mondo” journey will take place in July and will start on June 20th with Israeli cinema and with three days dedicated to Jewish culture and cinema. The opening movie will be “The Women’s balcony” by Emil Ben-Shimon, screened in the Arena venue, followed by three more films of great interest, belonging to the genres of fiction, docu-mentary and animation. Our second guest-country will be Australia, with the blockbuster “The Greatest Showman”, directed by the talented Micheal Gracey. The movie is produced and starred by Hugh Jackman, who saw, in this young director, a sparkle of innovation and passion and who decided to support him in creating a film that was immediately a great success. Then, for its tenth edition on L’Isola del Cinema, the Japanese culture will be welcomed as per tradition in the Arena venue, where it will be screening for the first time in Italy the mystery film “The Name”, by Akihiro Toda, after two musical performances and a tasting session of sake offered by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). The journey will go on with India’s return on the Island, in a two days event realized thanks to the collaboration with the River to River Indian Film Festival of Florence, in which this nation will be the main protagonist with 4 films and an Indian tea tasting session.

The Embassy of Japan and the Japan Cultural Institute celebrate their 10th anniversary in the “L’Isola del Cinema” film festival by bringing the East in the heart of the Capital, thanks to the participation of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). On the 2nd July, this renewed event will be dedicated to the North-Eastern region of Tohoku, with a sake wine-tasting session and the musical performance of two internationally active artists, Kenji Furutake with the taiko (drums) and Keisho Ohno with the tsugaru shamisen, a variation of the shamisen, the famous Japanese three-strings banjo.The Japanese cinema is represented by “The Name”, the intriguing movie by Akihiro Toda, a mystery/drama screened in preview in Rome with Italian subtitles, kindly granted by Underlight Trieste.

KEISHO OHNOTSUGARU SHAMISENOriginario della provincia di Niigata, inizia a suonare lo tsu-garu shamisen all’età di otto anni, guadagnandosi, già a 14, il titolo di “discendente della scuola Chikuzan Bushi” ricono-sciuta dal grande maestro e compositore Takahashi Chiku-zan, tra ifondatori dello stile tsugaru del tradizionale strumento. Si esibisce in tutto il mondo e in Italia (EXPO, Milano 2015 - Lucca Comics & Games 2016 e 2017).
Born in the province of Niigata, he began to play the tsugaru sha-misen at the age of 8 and, when he was only 14, he earned the title of “successor of the Chikuzan Bushi school”, a shamisen school acknowledged by the great master composer Takahashi Chikuzan, founder of the tsugaru variation of the traditional shamisen. Keisho Ohno performs around all the world and in Italy (EXPO, Milan 2015, Lucca Comics & Games 2016 and 2017).
KENJI FURUTAKETAIKOClasse 1980, nasce ad Osaka. Nel 2003 fonda il gruppo di percussionisti “GONNA” per poi esordire come solista dal 2006. Oltre i confini nazionali, vanta performance in USA, Cina e Nuova Zelanda e collaborazioni con vari artisti all’inse-gna della libertà di espressione, dell’improvvisazione e della musica intesa come mezzo di comunicazione e di incontro.

Tommaso Le Pera, il più importante fotografo teatrale italiano ha avuto il privilegio di immortalare gli spettacoli più significativi della grande attrice milanese dagli anni ‘70 al 2000, un documento unico un percorso teatrale che parte da Orestea di Ronconi del ‘73 fino a uno degli ultimi spettacoli Sola me ne vo, un one woman show in cui con grande ironia la Melato racconta i suoi esordi fino ai successi internazionali, un omaggio dovuto ad un’attrice unica nel panorama teatrale italiano.La Mostra fotografica verrà inaugurata con una serata tributo in cui sarà proiettato “Mariangela!” - il rac-conto per immagini della grande Melato realizzato da Rai Cultura; saranno, inoltre, presentati al pubblico omaggi e ricordi di registi, compagni di lavoro, amici, personaggi con i quali la grande attrice ha condiviso vita e palcoscenico.Una rassegna filmica completerà l’omaggio all’attrice resa popolare grazie ai memorabili film con la regia di Lina Wertmuller.
EXHIBITSMAGNETICA MARIANGELA!“Magnetica Mariangela!” is a photography Exhibition realized in collaboration with Tommaso La Pera, who selected, among his photo collection, twenty-one shots to display on the Tiber Island. Tommaso La Pera, the most influential Ita-lian theatre photographer, had the privilege of capturing some the most significant plays of the great milanese actress, Mariangela Melato, between the 70s and the 00s. He did create a unique document, a theatre journey that began with Ronconi’s Orestea in 1973 and closes with one of her last play, Sola me ne vo, a one-woman show where Mariangela Melato tells, with great irony, her history from the very debut to her international success. Therefore, La Pera’s photo collection proves to be a due homage to an one of a kind actress on the Italian theatre scenes.The photography Exhibit will be launched with a tribute night, during which we will screen “Mariangela!”, the “picture narration” of the great actress Melato, produced by Rai Cultura. Furthermore, our audience will enjoy the tributes and memories of directors, work colleagues, friends and other personalities with whom the great actress shared her life on and off the stage. In conclusion to our tribute to this astonishing actress, we will present a final film exhibition, with some of memorable movies that made her popular, directed by Lina Wertmuller.

Rome, the Eternal City, whose splendour seems almost dreamlike, has been used as the perfect film setting for count-less years, choosing this city as the background for movies that made the history of worldwide cinema, stressing once again how amazingly beautiful this city can be. Timeless frames, engraved in everyone’s memories.L’Isola del Cinema will pay its tribute to this wonderful Capital, with both a photogray and a film exposition. The exhibition “Rome City of Film” became possible thanks to the huge heritage of the Archivio Fotografico della Cinete-ca Nazionale del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (photographic archive of the Experimental Cinematography Center), making it possible to tell the story behind all those roman venues seen in Italian movies. Urban and suburban scenarios were chosen, either in d’auteur movies or in more “mainstream” and ‘pop’ ones.The exhibition and all movie screenings are thought as a cultural tribute for citizens, tourists and, most of all, for the new generations that will be able to discover the treasures of this Eternal City. It is a journey, proving once again how astonishing and rich can be the heritage of Rome, Creative City of Cinema.

Roma eterna ed onirica grazie anche al cinema che l’ha esaltata scegliendola come sfondo di bellezza in celebri film che hanno fatto la storia della cinematografia internazionale. Immagini eterne, scolpite nella memoria collettiva che ormai da sempre hanno legato Roma al cinema mondiale.L’Isola del Cinema ha scelto di dedicarle un omaggio attraverso una mostra fotografica ed una rassegna filmica. La mostra “I luoghi di Roma nel cinema”, nasce grazie al ricco patrimonio dell’Archivio Fotografico della Cineteca Nazionale del Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia e racconta le location romane scelte dal cinema italiano: scenari urbani ed extraurbani della città scelti come luoghi per raccontare le storie più diverse, tra film d’autore e cinema popolare. Il percorso espositivo unitamente alla rassegna filmica è pensato come omaggio culturale ai cittadini, ai turisti e, soprattutto, alle nuove generazioni che potranno scoprire i tesori di una città culturalmente viva. Un viaggio nella splendida città eterna come testimonianza della ricchezza del patrimonio di Roma Città Creativa di Cinema.

LA MAGIA DEL CINEMA ENTRA IN OSPEDALEAssistere a un film, pur se ricoverati in ospedale, è un’esperienza terapeutica che aiuta a ridurre la perce-zione del dolore, portando sollievo ai malati e alle loro famiglie. La Cinematherapy, ormai da tempo nota e praticata, indica come la visione di film crei sotto il profilo psicologico un ‘effetto pausa’ per i malati, determinando uno stato di benessere riscontrabile a livello neurologico. L’Isola del Cinema, in collaborazione con il Fatebenefratelli, porta dal 2010 il cinema nella bellissima Sala dell’Assunta: una iniziativa nata dalla volontà di creare un momento di evasione e di distrazione per i pa-zienti. Proiettare un film in ospedale serve a favorire l’aggregazione dei pazienti che durante il periodo in cui si proietta la pellicola possono ritrovarsi nella stessa sala, partecipare insieme alla proiezione, esternare le proprie emozioni e continuare, anche dopo la fine del film a discuterne, scambiare commenti, esprimere pareri diversi. La Sala dell’Assunta - situata all’interno dell’Ospedale - ospiterà, grazie a Rai Cinema, una selezione di commedie italiane dell’ultima stagione cinematografica. Nei pomeriggi estivi, con cadenza settimanale i pazienti, familiari, amici, volontari e operatori nell’assistenza potranno vivere la magia del Cinema, perché le immagini rappresentano la chiave per favorire uno stato liberatorio e benefico per chiun-que si immedesimi nella storia raccontata al cinema
La magia del Cinema entra in Ospedale
Watching a movie while admitted in a hospital can be described as a therapeutic experience both for relatives and patients. It can help them reduce the perception of pain and giving them a little relief. Nowadays, Cinematherapy is very well-known and commonly used, and underlines how watching a movie can create some sort of a “pause effect” on patients, giving them a state of well-being that can be observed on a neurological level. Since 2010, L’Isola del Cinema, in collaboration with Fatebenefratelli, is bringing movies in the beautiful Sala dell’As-sunta. This initiative was born with the intention to create a moment of joy and recreation for patients. Screening a movie in a hospital can also help the bounding between patients bond, since they find themselves in the same room, watching the same movie. This experience can help them express their feelings and, even afterwards, continue to confront themselves on what they saw, what they thought about it and how that made them feel.Sala dell’Assunta, inside the Fatebenefratelli Hospital, and thanks to Rai Cinema, will host the screening of a selection of last season’s Italian comedies. During the summer afternoons, the patients and their relatives, friends, volunteers and assisting operators will be able to live, every week, the “magic of movies”. The moving pictures are the key to provide a liberating and beneficial state for everyone who empathizes with the story that is being told.

UNA SERATA PER SANT’EGIDIO Sant’Egidio è una Comunità cristiana nata nel 1968, all’indomani del Concilio Vaticano II, per iniziativa di Andrea Riccardi, in un liceo del centro di Roma. Con gli anni è divenuta una rete di comunità che, in più di 70 paesi del mondo, con una particolare attenzione alle periferie e ai periferici, raccoglie uomini e donne di ogni età e condizione, uniti da un legame di fraternità nell’ascolto del Vangelo e nell’impegno volontario e gratuito per i poveri e per la pace. Preghiera, Poveri e Pace sono i suoi riferimenti fondamentali.La Comunità di Sant’Egidio è un soggetto collettivo. Ogni sua attività è frutto di un lavoro comune, della sinergia di uomini e donne di età e condizioni diverse, che, in maniera volontaria e gratuita, offrono ciò che vogliono e possono. Sant’Egidio, potremmo dire, è un popolo. Soprattutto nel mondo di oggi, così lacerato, questa crediamo essere una delle necessità. La Comunità quest’anno compie 50 anni. La vita della Comunità, si muove a partire da questi riferimenti. Nel mondo ci sono tante domande e bisogni, primi tra i quali quello della pace e del vivere insieme in pace. Cambiare il mondo non è lo strappo di un momento o di una stagione, ma una passione costante: per noi passione religiosa che si è fatta civile e sociale. Da qui discende il nostro impegno al fianco dei poveri, dei vulnerabili, per la pace e il dialogo. Cambiare il mondo partendo dal cambiare sé stessi.
SANT’EGIDIOIn 1968,after the second Vatican council, Andrea Riccardi founded the “Sant’Egidio” Christian Community in a high school in the centre of Rome. Over the years it became a network that operates in over 70 countries of the world, with special care to the outskirts and those who live there. The community gathers people of all ages, gender and social statuses united by a tie of fraternity in the hearing of the Gospel and in the unconditional commitment for the sake of the poor and for peace.Prayer, Poverty and Peace are its basic values.The Sant’Egidio Community is a collective. Every activity is the result of the joint effort between men and women of different age and status who voluntarily and unconditionally offer what they are able to do give.Sant’Egidio could even be considered like a community. Especially in today’s world, torn as it is, we believe that buil-ding a community is highly necessary. Most of all, the common feelings of a community. The common thread that con-nects this community of volunteers, friends, supporters and members is the thread of friendship. And for us, friendship is a fundamental value. This year, the Community celebrates its 50th anniversary. As in the beginning, the Gospel is still at the centre, with its invitation to live beside the poor and those who are alone, but also to believe that “all things are possible to him who believes”. Daily life inside the Community takes place with these guidelines as starting point. There are many questions and needs in this world, the first one being the need for peace and living together peacefully.To change the world is not the whim of a moment or a season, but a constant passion: a religious passion, for us, which made itself also a civil and social one. This is where our commitment beside the poor and the vulnerable, for the sake of peace and conversation. Changing the world starting with changing ourselves.

VISIONI SOCIALI“Immagini e Parole dal Quotidiano”, rassegna a cura dell’Associazione Culturale Visioni Sociali, per l’ot-tavo anno ha il privilegio di essere ospitata nell’ambito dell’ evento “L’Isola del Cinema”. Quest’anno, in occasione dei quarant’anni dall’approvazione della legge 180, la rassegna è dedicata alla figura di Franco Basaglia; alle lotte che hanno portato, con un atto di coraggio e civiltà, alla chiusura dei manicomi e ad una rivoluzione nel sistema psichiatrico in Italia. Fare il punto su questi quarant’anni di applicazione della legge valutandone le eccellenze e le criticità. Quattro incontri dedicati a testimonianze e riflessioni inserite in una programmazione di produzioni video curata da Visioni Sociali e Lo Spiraglio. Preziosa sarà anche la collaborazione di Psichiatria Democratica che ha patrocinato questa edizione della rassegna.
Visioni Sociali“Immagini e Parole dal Quotidiano” is an exhibition by the Cultural Association “Visioni Sociali” that, for its VIII Edi-tion, has received the privilege of being hosted by the L’Isola del Cinema film festival.In the occasion of the 40th anniversary from the approval of Law 180, this year the exhibition is dedicated to Franco Basaglia and to his fights which, with a real act of courage and civility, brought the closure of asylums and a revolution in Italian psychiatric system. In this occasion, these 40 years of application of the law will be examined and both its excellencies and critical issues will be assessed.There will be four meetings dedicated to evidences and reflections integrated in a screening of movie productions by “Visioni Sociali” and “Lo Spiraglio”. Special thanks go to the precious collaboration of “Psichiatria Democratica”, who sponsored this edition of the exhibition.

“Venti d’Estate” is the review by the “Doppio Ristretto” cultural association. Conceived three years ago, this event presents a 20-meeting programme consisting in literary readings, discussions, as well as music and cinema conversations. Gli incontri serali accolgono i poeti e le poesie di autori storici ed emergenti della Poesia contemporanea e di autori che hanno avuto rapporti con il mondo del cinema.
Poetry“Cinema and Poetry”: again this year a rich agenda realized in collaboration with Poets’ Association present on the territory: “L’isola dei Poeti - Il Poeta Cre-Attivo” by Roberto Piperno and Francesca Farina and “Poeti a L’Isola del Cinema” by Agostino Raff. The evening meetings host poets and poems by remarkables and rising authors of contemporary poetry and by authors who have had relationships with the world of cinema.
CINEMA E LIBRICinema e Libri approda a L’Isola del Cinema con una stagione fitta di libri e di ospiti per la direzione artisti-ca di Giovanni Fabiano: dalla metà di giugno ai primi di settembre alle ore 20.00 in programma incontri per presentare il meglio delle uscite editoriali di questo ultimo anno, ma anche per raccontare dalla voce degli autori le storie che animano i libri protagonisti della serata.Fra le iniziative promosse da Cinema e Libri si segnalano due importanti Premi: un Libro per il Cinema, per il libro più adatto a diventare una sceneggiatura cinematografica, e il premio Booktrailer dedicato al video che meglio presenta e promuove il libro.

BIZZARRO NIGHTSMinerva Pictures, in collaborazione con VVVVIDpresenta le “Bizzarro Nights”: i venerdì al cinema più folli di sempre!Una storia può assumere una connotazione “bizzarra” solo se è raccontata attraverso modalità capaci di catapultare lo spettatore in un mondo nel quale il surreale diventa protagonista. I film “bizzarro movie”, senza porre limiti all’immaginazione, portano lo spettatore in un mondo in cui gli schemi tradizionali vengono stravolti. BIZZARRO NIGHTSMinerva Pictures, in collaboration with VVVVID,presents the “Bizzarro Nights”:the craziest Fridays at the theatre of all times!A story can take a “Bizarre” flavour only if it’s told in ways that are capable of throwing the spectator inside a world where the surreal becomes the protagonist.The films of “Bizzarro Movies” bring the spectator inside a world where traditional models are being di-srupted, without any limits to imagination. In fact, these movies could be considered a contemporary gen-re that combines the typical elements of catastrophic narration with the satire, thus creating a new genre “of the impossible”. Sharknado, “the founder” of Bizzarro Movies that also became a cult, reinterprets Steven Spielberg’s killer shark by bringing it out of its natural habitat: it flies in the spirals of an absurd combination between a waterspout and a tornado, extremely hungry and almost without any weak point.Frightening creatures and three-headed mutants are just some of the recurring elements of these movies that we could proudly define as shamelessly and gloriously “brainless”.The films of Bizzarro Movies have their roots in the history of cinema, making often a flippant tribute to it, with the purpose of pursuing the most ancient mission: to catch the attention of the spectator so as to surprise him with effects that are more than special, they are bizarre!
