Cuboxal was founded in 1978 and through a process of conti-nuous growth, is now one of the major European company for the production of pizza boxes with more than 400 million pieces produced every year. ITIl marchio FSC®, nel mondo, identifica i prodotti contenenti legno proveniente da foreste gestite in maniera corretta e responsabi-le secondo rigorosi standard ambientali, sociali ed economici.FSC® è una ONG internazionale, indipendente e senza scopo di lucro, che include tra i suoi membri gruppi ambientalisti e sociali, comunità indigene, proprietari forestali, industrie che lavorano e commerciano il legno, scienziati e tecnici che operano insieme per migliorare la gestione delle foreste in tutto il mondo.Per riuscire nella sua missione, FSC® si è dotato di un sistema di certificazione volontario e di parte terza (indipendente), specifi-co per il settore forestale e i prodotti che derivano dalle foreste, operativo a livello internazionale. Alla base vi sono 10 Principi e 56 Criteri (P&C) di buona gestione forestale, norme per la rintrac-ciabilità dei prodotti e regole per l’uso del marchio internaziona-le registrato.Per certificazione della rintracciabilità s’intende l’identificazione di tutti i passaggi che portano dalla foresta di origine, dove gia-ce il tronco, fino al prodotto finito (detta anche catena di custo-dia, dall’inglese chain of custody-CoC). ITDerivato dal più conosciuto e diffuso BRC Food, lo Standard BRC Packaging, sviluppato dal British Retail Consortium (BRC) con il supporto dell’Institute of Packaging e delle associazioni che rap-presentano i produttori di imballaggio, si pone ad oggi l’obiettivo di garantire la sicurezza igienico-sanitaria non solo dei materiali da imballaggio destinati ad entrare in contatto con gli alimenti ma anche di quelli utilizzati come packaging primario in settori diversi dall’alimentare, come prodotti di consumo e imballaggi secondari e terziari per tutti gli usi.La certificazione BRC Packaging si prefigge di aiutare i retailer a soddisfare pienamente gli obblighi legali e a proteggere il con-sumatore.Lo Standard considera due categorie di prodotti sulla base del

rischio igienico associato all’utilizzo finale dei materiali di imbal-laggio:- prodotti ad alto rischio igienico per gli imballaggi destinati al contatto diretto con gli alimenti o per altri prodotti ad alto rischio igienico;- prodotti a basso rischio igienico per gli imballaggi per consumer products o per quelli secondari e terziari.

ENThe Standard is designed to assist packaging manufacturers and converters in adopting good manufacturing practices and supporting quality management systems to develop and manu-facture safe, legal packaging materials meeting their customer’s quality requirements.The standard is applicable to manufacturers producing packa-ging materials for food and consumer products. The Standard recognizes 2 levels of hygiene risks depending on the end use of the packaging materials for instance direct food contact is the highest level and will fall into the high hygiene risk category, while non-food packaging will fall into the low hygiene risk ca-tegory. The requirements of the standard are itemized separately depending upon the level.
