dalla collaborazione con Formitalia

Luxury Group, azienda toscana d’eccellenza

che produce in licenza l’arredamento

personalizzato Gherardini, declinando in

chiave living i tratti distintivi dello stile della

Maison fiorentina.

A distanza di oltre un secolo dalla sua

fondazione Gherardini continua ad essere

sinonimo di artigianalità, eleganza e

italianità.

La licenza con Formitalia rappresenta un

importante capitolo di un nuovo corso che

andrà a consolidare Gherardini come una

delle griffe del lusso artigianale italiano

anche nel settore arredamento.

GHERARDINI HOME comes from

collaboration with Formitalia Luxury

Group, a leading Tuscan enterprise that has

been licensed to manufacture Gherardini,

customized furniture and that pours the

distinct traits of the brand into items designed

to decorate our homes.

Over one hundred years have passed

since its establishment, yet Gherardini

continues to stand as a synonym to top- level

craftsmanship, elegance and Italian style.

The license agreement with Formitalia

represents an important chapter of a new

way that will consolidate Gherardini as one

of the famous brand of the name fashion

houses of luxury Italian artisan, also in the

home decor sector.

THE MAIN STEPS

1885Garibaldo Gherardini opens his first workshop in Florence,

specialized in the cases production.

1900Later, a wider range of items are successfully introduced: bags, clutch bags with jewel closure, the use of brocade, satin, and

pleated leather for a sophisticated luxury.

1915Garibaldo opens his first shop in Via della Vigna Nuova in Florence.

1945Gherardini’s second generation contributes to the expansion and

success of the house.

1952Made in Italy takes off and large-scale production of leather goods

begins in the Via della Vigna Nuova store. This marks the birth of the Gherardini brand.

1960Thanks to the success of the Gherardini style, new headquarters

are established in Casellina Scandicci (next to Florence).

1969The first collection of women’s leatherwear is on the catwalk in the

Sala Bianca at Pitti Palace.

1973The beginning of Total Look: the Florentine house expands its

production to clothing, sunglasses and foulards.

1974Creation of the “GHE” cotton fabric, in partnership

with Gommatex Spa. Two years later, the innovative fabric able to reduce the weight of the bag will become “Ghe Softy” with cotton

replaced by Nylon.

1975Pitti Donna makes its debut and Gherardini is in the fashion show with its soft clothes and leather-trimmed trench coats: its icon is a

little blonde from London, her name is Twiggy.

1981Creation of a men’s line of accessories.

1982Tabloid Women’s Wear Daily announces the launch of

Gherardini Perfume Donna, an exclusive fragrance.

1990The founders transfer the trademark.

2000The brand undertakes a powerful action to re-launch its

image.

2005The GHE SOFTY fabric is further developed using state-of-the-

art materials.

2007The brand joins the Braccialini Group: the Historical Archives

Project is launched.

2008The new holding begins a process aimed at repositioning the

brand as a luxury brand.

2009Signing of license agreements for umbrellas, foulards, scarves

and ties: total look target.

2010Gherardini celebrates 125 years of history, with an exhibition at La Triennale in Milan and the publication of monograph

book.A new, more luxurious image is devised for Gherardini that embraces products, brand perception and a new concept

for its boutiques.

2011Creation of a new Worldwide Concept Store. Conception of

the Made to Order project.

2012Gherardini presents LaPretiosadiLeonardo.
