La collezione della Galleria, conservata nell’antico monastero delle Carmelitane Scalze, nasce nel 1925 con la finalità di documentare l’ambiente artistico romano rappresentando un patrimonio assoluto di Arte Moderna: capolavori di scultura, pittura e grafica a firma dei grandissimi artisti che li hanno realizzati tra la seconda metà dell’Ottocento e il secondo dopoguerra, sono la testimonianza del meglio di quell’epoca a Roma e ne raccontano la Storia, non solo dell’Arte.

The gallery’s collection, housed in the old monaste-ry of Discalced Carmelite nuns, was born in 1925 with the goal of documenting the Roman artistic environment and today, represents an absolute treasure of modern art. Sculptures, paintings, drawings and prints: masterpiece of created by great artists between the second half of the XIX century and the middle of the XX testify to the best of that era in Rome and recount the city’s history, not only its art.
