La scelta, anzi l’idea, che ha generato in cascata le innovazioni portate dagli ZAR nel mondo della nautica da diporto è quella della

eliminazione del tubolare di prua (brevetto n° 1).La libertà progettuale che ne è derivata ha permesso di ripensare ex novo tutta la carena che, grazie alle geniali intuizioni di Francesco Ambrosini, all’aiuto del CAD, alla competenza tecnica di Piero Formenti e alla sua disponibilità a costruire più prototipi, è arrivata ad assumere forme estremamente effi caci in tutte le condizioni di navigazione. I tunnel (brevetto n° 2) oltre ad aumentare la portanza in velocità, azzerano il fastidioso problema degli spruzzi con mare formato e vento laterale. La navigazione risulta confortevole con ogni tipo di mare e le prestazioni sono di tutto rispetto sia in velocità che in accelerazione.

T he choice, or to put it better, the idea, that produced, in rapid sequence, all the innovations of the ZARS in the pleasure

boating world, was to get rid of the tubular element on the stern (patent #1). The design freedom stemming from that made it possible to redesign the whole bottom of the boat. Thanks to Francesco Ambrosini’s brilliant ideas, the help of CAD, Piero Formenti’s technical know-how and his willingness to build several prototypes, the design of the bottom took on shapes that proved highly effi cient under all navigating conditions. The tunnels (patent #2), in addition to increasing lift at speed, eliminates the irritating problem of sprays, in a choppy sea with side winds. Navigating is comfortable in all types of sea conditions, and performance is good both at speed and when accelerating.

Lo studio della coperta ha un obiettivo: creare un mezzo polivalente con uno sfruttamento degli spazi innovativo. Risultato: un’abitabilità

senza confronti (8 posti a sedere fronte marcia su un 5,35 metri sono un record assoluto); due zone prendisole di dimensioni inusuali; modularità ai massimi livelli; capacità di carico (al chiuso) straordinarie. Il design, opera di Giorgio Pincelli, grafi co e designer professionista, punta tutto sulla funzionalità, in perfetto accordo e armonia con il lavoro tecnico di Ambrosini e Formenti.In questa cruciale fase creativa nascono le idee di gavoni dedicati agli accessori d’ormeggio (brevetto n° 3) e sportelli a doppia apertura (brevetto n° 4). Lo studio stilistico genera linee innovative che hanno fatto scuola, e conferisce a tutti gli ZAR un fascino unico che li porta ad un’inconfondibile “aria di famiglia”.

T here was one aim behind the study of the deck: to create a multi-purpose area by exploiting spaces in an innovative way. The

result: unbeatable passenger comfort (8 seats facing the bow in 5.35 metres are an absolute record); two sunbathing areas of unusual dimensions; the peak in modularity; extraordinary load space (under cover). The design by Giorgio Pincelli, a professional graphic artist and designer, is wholly targeted at functionality, fully in harmony with the technical work of Ambrosini and Formenti. The following ideas came about during this crucial creative stage: peaks for mooring accessories (patent #3) and double opening doors (patent #4). The styling study produced some innovative lines that are an example to follow, lending unique fascination to all ZARS and bestowing them with an unmistakable “family air”:

I l fulcro attorno al quale ruota tutta l’attività di preparazione di un nuovo ZAR è il modello in scala 1:1 da cui nasceranno gli stampi. I

calcoli matematici, le simulazioni al computer, la defi nizione dei particolari prendono forma e si materializzano nel modello della carena. Da questo nasce il primo prototipo navigante che viene affi nato e ottimizzato fi no al raggiungimento degli obiettivi previsti dal progetto teorico: sicurezza, comfort e prestazioni, nell’ordine. Le prove si svolgono nelle condizioni più diverse sia di carico sia di navigazione. Gli innumerevoli dati ricavati da ogni collaudo contribuiscono alla defi nizione degli spazi e dei volumi della coperta che dovrà essere costruita per rispettare al meglio la posizione ideale del baricentro e l’equilibrio statico e dinamico del mezzo in tutte le condizioni di carico e con tutte le andature.

T he fulcrum around which pivots all the work involved in preparing a new ZAR is the 1:1 scale model on which the moulds

are based. Mathematical calculations, computer simulations, and defi nition of details take shape and come to life in the model of the boat bottom. The fi rst navigating prototype is produced from all this. It is refi ned and improved until the aims of the theoretical project are achieved: safety, comfort, and performance in that order. Tests are run under radically different conditions, in terms of load and navigation. The multitude of data obtained from every test helps defi ne the spaces and volumes of the deck. The deck must be built so that it best adheres to the ideal position of the centre of gravity and the boat’s static and dynamic balance under all load conditions and at all speeds.

L o studio della coperta è un’autentica pa-lestra di creatività che nasce e si sviluppa soprattutto grazie all’integrazione del lavoro

dei tre progettisti Ambrosini, Formenti e Pincelli. Uno + uno + uno = quattro e il quarto “uomo” è il dialogo, il confronto, la difesa di un’idea pro-pria e la contemporanea accettazione di quella altrui in un contesto di crescita reciproca. La co-struzione del modello sembra ripetere lo stesso criterio di integrazione: si va dal sofi sticato CAD per la defi nizione delle forme alla insostituibile e magica manualità che plasma stucchi, legnami e poliuretani.Finito il modello, pronti gli stampi, ora scatta l’in-tero cantiere: tubolari, incollaggi, cerniere, cusci-ni. L’organizzazione aziendale prende il soprav-vento gestendo al meglio quel delicato equilibrio di alto artigianato e avanzata tecnologia. Nasce un nuovo ZAR.

T he study of the deck was a true “creativity-tank”, initiated and developed mainly by blending the work of the three designers:

Ambrosini, Formenti and Pincelli. One + one + one = four, the fourth “man” being dialogue, exchange of viewpoints, defending one’s idea and, at the same time, accepting others’ ideas in a context of mutual growth. Building the model seems to repeat the same blend criterion, ranging for a sophisticated CAD program for defi ning the geometry, through to that essential, magic craftsmanship in handling stucco, wood and polyurethane. When the model is fi nished, and the moulds are ready, the whole boatyard goes into action: tubular sections, glued parts, hinges, cushions. Company organisation gets the upper hand, by good management of the delicate balance of peak craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology. A new ZAR is born.

È il “piccolo” della famiglia. Ma nel suo “piccolo” è forse il più stupe-facente. Lo ZAR 43, lungo 4,50 metri e largo 2,16, offre abitabilità, sicurezza, comfort e prestazioni a fatica raggiunte da un gommone tradizionale di 5,5 metri di lunghezza.Facendo arricciare il naso ai matematici (ma si sa, la matematica è un’opinione) è riuscito a dimostrare che 4,50 è uguale a 5,50.Trasporta comodamente e in assoluta sicurezza 7 persone, ha gavo-ni enormi, regge senza problemi ben 90 Cv e naviga veloce ed agile come uno scoiattolo con i motori “senza patente”.Dispone di due prendisole separati (quello anteriore grande quasi quanto un letto matrimoniale), porta 100 litri circa di carburante e 60 circa di acqua senza rubare spazio ai passeggeri. Come i suoi fratelli maggiori ha i tubolari con sei compartimenti ed è dotabile di roll bar, doccia, tendalini e tenda completa per il camping nautico. Il 43 non ha rivali semplicemente perchè è uno ZAR, un piccolo gran-dissimo ZAR.

It is the “little one” of the family. But maybe the most amazing one. ZAR 43 is 4.30 meters long and 2.16 meters wide; it offers liveability, safety, comfort and performances that are hard to see in a traditio-nal 5.5-meter long rubber dinghy.Even if mathematicians don’t like it (but as you well know sometimes math can be an opinion), it has been able to show that 4.50 can be equal to 5.50.Absolutely safe and comfortable transportation of 7 persons, with huge peaks, it can bear a 90 HP and it sails fast and slender like a squirrel with a motor “without a licence”. It has two separate sun bathing beds (the front one is almost as big as a double bed), it has a fuel capacity of about 100 litres and a water capacity of about 60 litres without taking away any passenger space. Just like its bigger brothers, it has tubulars with 6 compart-ments and it can be provided with a roll bar, shower, awnings and tents for nautical camping. 43 does not have any competitor simply because it is a ZAR, a little gigantic ZAR.

Come tutti gli altri ZAR ha due zone prendisole separate di dimensioni incredibili riferite ai 4,86 metri di lunghezza x 2,32 di larghezza. Le capacità di carico sono impressionanti: i 6 gavoni di cui dispone (fra cui uno destinato agli accessori per l’ormeggio, i remi, le cime ecc.) sono enormi e di pratico accesso.Caratterizzato da una linea fi lante e slanciata è costruito con cura in ogni dettaglio. Half way between small and medium rubber dinghies for the external dimensions, Zar 47 can be located in the second category for liveability, comfort and sailing qualities.Four spacious front running seats are available. Like all the other ZAR it has two separate sun bathing beds of amazing dimensions, 4.86 meters long and 2.32 wide. The loading capacity are stunning: 6 enormous peaks (of which one is required for mooring equipment, oars, mooring lines etc.) that are easy to access.It is streamlined and slender and every detail has been built with special care. The balance between elegance and practicality, space and solidness are unique.Perfect balance even for its sailing performance: very supple and easy to manoeuvre, it assures soft impact with the waves even on high speed. “Slim” like all the ZAR models, 47 is ideal for who requires good performance, space, comfort and construction quality, but don’t want to renounce to a means that has moderate dimensions and therefore easy to move with a dolly.

La naturale vocazione per il comfort dello ZAR 65 e per la vita intensamente vissuta all’aria aperta hanno portato “automaticamente” i progettisti a mettere in cantiere una serie speciale che hanno battezzato “Suite”. Infatti gli spazi a bordo sono stati ripensati per dare agli occupanti un’area a poppa dove ritrovare un accogliente angolo per conversare o mangiare, insomma per vivere assieme.Il salotto è conformato a “U” ed è in grado di ospitare con molto spazio 4 persone, cui se ne aggiungono 2 comodamente sedute sul divano guida con lo schienale ribaltato. Il tavolo, al centro della “U”, può essere rapidamente smontato e sistemato come piano di appoggio per i cuscini che, assieme allo schienale estraibile, ripristinano l’assetto da navigazione che risulta identico a quello della versione “normale”. Ancora più comfort dunque. Ancora un’altro record. Cose da ZAR!

L'originalità del "progetto Zar" - ben 4 bre-vetti internazionali - ha integrato ed esaltato caratteristiche spesso inconciliabili fra loro.Eccezionali le doti di navigazione offerte da carene di lunghezza molto superiore alla nor-ma, con una "V" profonda e con "tunnel" che incanalano verso poppa l'acqua smossa du-rante il moto per aumentare la portanza ed azzerare gli spruzzi che arrivano in coperta.L'assenza del tubolare in prua permette di ri-cavare spazi enormi e di sagomare al meglio sia carena che coperta. Il risultato immedia-tamente percepibile è un'abitabilità senza confronti ed un design unico.Il ripensamento totale della parte poppiera (troppo spesso sacrificata alle esigenze moto-ristiche), con l'allontanamento del motore, l'estensione dei sedili fin sopra i tubolari, la modularità degli schienali e dei cuscini ha tra-sformato in "salotto" una zona in molti casi costituita da una panchetta o poco più.Soluzioni che hanno reso reali e tangibili quelle promesse di qualità della vita a bordo e di duttilità del mezzo che fin dal primo trat-to di matita hanno guidato il "progetto ZAR".

Caratteristiche generali comuni a tutti gli ZAR

L'unicità del progetto ZAR è totale: tutta la struttura è originale e innovativa; ogni detta-glio è studiato, sperimentato e costruito per la migliore efficacia nella destinazione previ-sta e per la massima durata anche in condi-zioni gravose. In questa vista in sezione di uno "ZAR tipo", sintesi media dei vari model-li, si possono osservare le caratteristiche co-struttive nascoste o meno evidenti.Qui di seguito sono elencate tutte le soluzioni esclusive che accomunano tutti i modelli:• la struttura portante è in vetroresina ad ele-

vata resistenza torsionale con ragno di irrigi-dimento composto da due/tre longheroni incrociati con madieri lungo tutta la carena;

• i tubolari sono realizzati in neoprene/hypalon con tessuto in poliestere da 1100 dtex con coprigiunti interni ed esterni per 6 comples-sivi compartimenti stagni; le valvole di gon-fiaggio sono alloggiate all'interno in posizio-ne protetta; la giunzione tra carena e tubolari è doppia e totale (tutto il perimetro);

• due/tre file di sedili per un numero di posti a sedere fronte marcia superiore a qualsiasi altro battello pneumatico di pari lunghezza; la cuscineria è realizzata in espanso a cellu-le chiuse (non assorbe acqua) rivestito da sky con cuciture immarcescibili;

• gavoni ineguagliabili per capienza e funzio-nalità: stagni quelli in consolle, enormi quelli destinati al carico, pratici quelli destinati alle ancore e ai dispositivi per l'ormeggio. Ac-cessibilità facilitata da grandi sportelli a dop-pia apertura e sostenuti da attuatori a gas;

• modularità degli schienali/sedili: consentono di ottenere due zone prendisole (anteriore e posteriore) trasformabili in letti matrimoniali per un'ineguagliabile abitabilità in caso di camping nautico;

• tutte le parti metalliche sono in acciaio inox; le cerniere e le chiusure sono montate su guarnizioni in gomma e fissate con viti e bulloni autobloccanti; tutti i ganci di chiusura sono registrabili;

• la consolle mono o biposto (in alcuni mo-delli è opzionabile la sistemazione centrale o laterale) è realizzata in VTR ed è comple-ta di sedili anteriori con cuscini e schienali. Il parabrezza in metacrilato fumé è sagoma-to per offrire la massima protezione ed il corrimano che lo corona è ad appigli multi-pli. È completa di timone in acciaio inox e ti-moneria (anche idraulica). I vani interni sono separati e con sportelli a tenuta stagna. Vani sotto ai sedili anteriori, portaoggetti.

General characteristics common to all ZARS

The unique nature of the ZAR project is total: the entire structure is original and innovative; all details were studied and experimented for opti-mal efficiency during intended use and long-life even under severe duty. This cross-section view of the "typical ZAR" - a general synthesis of various models - you can see the hidden or less evident construction characteristics. Here is a list of all the exclusive solutions common to all the models:• load-bearing structure in high torsion stress

resisting fibreglass-reinforced plastic, with reinforcing web consisting of two/three crossover longitudinal members with floors along the entire bottom;

• the tubular sections are in neoprene/hypalon with 1100 dtex polyester fabric, with internal and external joint covers over 6 water-tight compartments; the inflation valves are housed in protected positions on the inside; hull to tubular section joints are double and complete (along the entire perimeter),

• two/three rows of seats facing the bow, ac-commodating more passengers than any other inflated boat of the same length; up-holstery in closed cell (waterproof) ex-panded material covered with imitation leather with non-rot stitches;

• peaks with unbeatable capacity and function-ality; watertight console peaks, enormous peaks for loads, practical peaks for anchors and mooring equipment. Easy access thanks to large double-opening hatches supported by gas powered actuators;

• modular backrests/seats creating two sun-bathing areas (fore and aft) and can be con-verted into double-beds providing un-equalled comfort for nautical camping;

• all metal parts in stainless steel; hinges and closing components are fitted on rubber seals and secured with self-locking screws and bolts; all closing hooks are adjustable;

• the single- or double-operator console (central or side lay-out is an optional item in

some models) is in fibreglass-reinforced plas-tic and includes front seats with cushions and backrests. The windscreen in fumé methac-rylate ester is shaped for maximum protec-tion and surmounted by a handrail with mul-tiple grips. Complete with rudder in stainless steel and ancillary rudder equipment (including hydraulic components). The inter-nal rooms are separate and are equipped with water-tight doors. Storage compart-ments are provided under the front seats.

The originality of the "Zar project" - boasting 4 international patents - blends and en-hances characteristics that are often at odds with each other.Bottoms well over the usual length offer out-standing navigating performance, with a deep "V" and tunnels channelling water astern to in-crease lift and prevent spray reaching the deck.The absence of a tubular element at the bow creates a lot of extra space, also making it possible to optimise the shape of bottom and deck. This translates, at first sight, into unpar-alleled living comfort and unique design. Drastic redesigning of the stern section (all too often sacrificed to the needs of the en-gine), where the engine was re-located fur-ther away, seats extended over the tubular sections, plus modular backrests and cush-ions have all converted an area which, in many cases, consists of a bench or little more than that, into a "lounge". These solutions have turned the promises of on-board quality of life and boat flexibility into reality, since they guided the "ZAR project" right from the first stroke of the designer's pencil.

Una cabina spaziosissima con un letto per tre persone, un bagno - separato e a tenuta d’acqua - dotato di water, doccia, lavello e tutti gli accessori di una vera sala da bagno, un ingresso che permette ad una persona di media statura di cambiarsi in piedi senza contorsionismi e senza smontare alcunchè.Una dinette a U per 5 persone con tavolo in legno e confortevoli sedili. Con rapidi e facili gesti la dinette si trasforma in un enorme prendisole o in 4 posti fronte marcia per una confortevole e sicura navigazione per i passeggeri.Una cucina completa di frigo, lavello e fornello che appare, come per magia, sotto al sedile guida. E poi un altro prendisole sopra al deck della cabina, il roll-bar con tendalino, sportelli e vani dappertutto, una scaletta per la risalita dopo un salutare bagno in mare. E poi ancora, la spiaggetta posteriore con la passerella per raggiungere comodamente il molo, l’illuminazione con faretti LED, un vano per l’ancora di poppa e gli accessori d’ormeggio, un posto guida sopraelevato per dominare il mare, fi nestrini ampi ed apribili. The new ZAR 73 SkyDeck requires very little introduction. It has a very spacious cabin with a bed large enough to accommodate three people, a bathroom – separate and water-proof – with WC, shower, wash basin and all the accessories you would fi nd in a real bathroom and an entrance area that is high enough for a person of average height to change without having to bend double or dismantle anything.Its U-shaped dinette with wooden table and comfortable chairs can accommodate 5 people. The dinette can be quickly and easily transformed into a large sunbathing area or 4 forward facing passenger seats for comfortable and safe sailing. The kitchen comes complete with fridge, sink and a cooker that appears, as if by magic, from underneath the helm seat. There is also another sunbathing area above the cabin deck, a roll-bar with canopy, lockers and small cupboards everywhere and a ladder for boarding the boat after a healthy and invigorating dip in the sea. It also has a rear platform with gangway to reach the jetty easily, LED spot lights, a forward anchor locker and mooring gear, a raised helm seat with a commanding view of the sea and large opening windows.
