u L’MCY 80 RIFLETTE LO SPIRITO DI RIN-NOVAMENTO DI MONTECARLO YACHTS, sen-za perdere la propria identità, unica ed esclusi-va. Cambiare rimanendo sé stessi. Era questo il compito arduo assegnato allo studio di Carlo Nu-volari e Dan Lenard. A prima vista sembra uguale alle sue sorelle più piccole e più grandi, in real-tà la barca ha segni nuovi che ne definiscono e rafforzano il carattere, ci sono anche alcune ci-tazioni stilistiche che il designer ha volutamen-te inserito prendendole da Alfa Nero costruita da Oceanco e Dan Lenard è particolarmente or-goglioso di aver arricchito questa barca con una chicca di design così particolare. Riuscire a mantenere intatto il portato di valori di un mar-chio che ha fatto dell’eccellenza il suo mood, non era semplice. Ma la matita guidata da un pensie-ro profondo, non da un computer, ha definito un assunto nuovo. Direi più maturo. Un cambiamen-to che si manifesta anche attraverso l’introduzio-ne di materiali e finiture fino ad ora inesplorati e con una diversa modalità architettonica che esal-tano l’insieme con leggerezza, trasparenza e lu-minosità. Sia gli spazi del ponte principale che le cabine sono permeate di luce naturale e offrono spazi sofisticatamente arredati e curati nei detta-gli. Il pavimento in rovere sbiancato e spazzola-to rende l’atmosfera ancora più elegante, già im-preziosita da raffinati dettagli in pelle e pietra. Le scelte di design, come i componenti d’arredo di Hermes, Armani Casa e Minotti, arricchiscono un interno moderno e di gusto.

Una barca convincente da molti punti di vi-sta, che abbiamo avuto il piacere di provare con mare calmo, fresca di varo, con 19 perso-ne a bordo e circa 5000 litri di gasolio e acqua; con due Man di 1650 cavalli ciascuno, 12 ci-lindri a V di 90 gradi, invertitore Zf 2050 V, tra-smissioni V drive con giunto cardanico, eliche a 4 pale. Affondiamo la manetta che, essendo elet-tronica, impedisce errori, ma bisogna attende-re alcuni secondi perché la barca reagisca. Tut-tavia riusciamo a planare in soli 15 secondi. Per una barca che a pieno carico ha una massa di 65 tonnellate, e un rapporto peso potenza di 17 chilogrammi per ogni cavallo disponibile, è de-cisamente un ottimo dato. Per raggiungere la velocità massima di 30 nodi impieghiamo al-tri 26 secondi. La carena a geometria variabile, con un angolo nella sezione poppiera di 15 gra-di, è molto ben bilanciata e ha 3 pattini di idro-sostentamento per ogni lato. La manovrabilità è abbastanza buona anche grazie al sistema elet-tronico che consente di chiudere la virata in poco spazio. Abbiamo fatto un giro di 360 gradi con un raggio di soli 40 metri in 56 secondi con i mo-tori a 2000 giri. Onda praticamente zero, quin-di, cerchiamo quelle prodotte dalle altre barche, che sono pertanto modeste, ma il passaggio su di esse è stabile e sicuro. Non abbiamo mai usa-to i due correttori d’assetto Humphree Atos. Mol-to buono il livello di comfort sonoro, alla velocità di crociera la barca non supera mai 70 decibel in salone, all’andatura massima si arriva a settanta-

That was the complicated task assigned to the studio run by Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard. At first glance it resembles its smaller and larger sisters, in fact the boat has new signs that define and strengthen its character, there are also some stylistic quotations that the designer has deliberately inserted taken from Alfa Nero built by Oceanco and Dan Lenard is particularly proud to have enriched this boat with a particularly special design. Minotti, enrich a modern and tasteful interior. An impressive boat from many points of view, that we have had the pleasure of trying out with calm seas, freshly launched, with 19 people on board and about 5000 litres of fuel and water; with two Man of 1650 HP, 12 cylinder 90 degree V, Zf 2050 V Inverter, V-drive transmissions with Cardan joint, 4-blade propellers. Giving full throttle that, being electronic prevents mistakes, but you have to wait a few seconds for the boat to react. However, we manage to glide in just 15 seconds. For a boat that has a mass of 65 tonnes full load, and a weight-power ratio of 17 kilogrammes per horsepower available, it is a considerably good figure. To reach the maximum speed of 30 knots, it takes an additional 26 seconds. The variable geometry of the hull, with a 15° deadrise angle in the aft section, is very well balanced and has 3 spray rails for each side. Manoeuvrability is also quite good thanks to the electronic system that closes the turn in a small space.

We did a 360-degree turn with a radius of only 40 meters in 56 seconds with the engines at 2000 RPM. Wave virtually zero, therefore, we seek those produced by other boats, which are therefore modest, but passing over them is stable and secure. We never used the two Humphree Atos trim correctors. Very good level of sound comfort, at cruising speed the boat never exceeds 70 decibels in the lounge; at maximum speed, you reach seventy-four. Harbour manoeuvres are facilitated by the electronic system with joystick, bow thruster and stern thruster of 15 kW of power each. The quality of the construction is evident in the lack of abnormal vibrations and squeaking of the furnishings. Made with sandwich and resin infusion with vinyl ester resin, carbon fibre and Kevlar. Thanks to six thousand litres of fuel, the boat has a range of about 330 nautical miles. As an alternative to the engines size of the test, the yard offers the possibility to place two engines of 1550 hp each.
