Sorta a metà degli anni ’70 la GeF ha saputo evolversi costantemente e in maniera esponenziale. L’alta tecnologia produttiva, i materiali selezionati e il personale altamente qualificato sposano la passione per il design offrendo una selezione di prodotti con uno stile senza tempo.

Kostas Syrtariotis nasce ad Atene (Grecia) il 1972. Il suo inter-esse per l’Arte e il Design lo porta a Venezia, dove si laurea in Architettura presso lo IUAV. Dal 2002 lavora come designer freelance e, nel 2007, fonda lo studio KDSGN. Frutto di un approccio del tutto personale, il suo lavoro spesso parte diret-tamente dal prototipo, avendo come comune denominatore l’uomo e i suoi sentimenti, uniti spesso ad un pizzico di ironia.

Built in the mid 70’s, GEF has evolved constantly thus exponentially. The high-technology manufacturing, selected materials and highly qualified staff are combined with the passion for design, offering a selection of products with a timeless style.

Kostas Syrtariotis was born in Athens, Greece in 1972. His interest in art and design led him to Venice, Italy, to study archi-tecture at the IUAV university. He works as a freelance designer since 2002, and founded his own studio KDSGN in 2007.His work is the result of an entirely personal view: often starting directly from the prototype, his projects have a common es-sence, a great respect for the human being and it’s feelings and often a hint of irony.

I find this ironic how a wooden tree sculpture provides a resting stand for books which were once trees. Although, I do like the design of it, and how the branches reach out propping up the books. It’s an interesting way to prop ones books and goes beyond the simple flat book stand. H2oColors.com
