ACIMGA, l’associazione confindustriale che rappresenta i costruttori italiani di macchine per l’industria grafica, cartotecnica e per il converting, è dal 1947 il punto di riferimento del settore in Italia e all’estero. Oltre a ConfindustriaACIMGA fa parte di un network di filiera al fine di dare supporto al settore perseguendo diversi obiettivi.

L’Italia è riconosciuta come uno dei maggiori produttorimondiali di macchine per il printing e il converting con una fortevocazione all’export. I costruttori italiani di dimensioni industrialisono circa 150, con un numero di addetti attorno alle 7.000unità.Il settore presenta le caratteristiche tipiche della meccanicaavanzata italiana: poche grandi aziende e numerose impresemedio piccole, che hanno fatto della specializzazione produttivae tecnologica e della flessibilità il loro punto di forza, e che sonointerconnesse a una fitta rete di subfornitori, anch'essi in grado di garantire lavorazioni di elevata qualità. L'approccio dei costruttori italiani è quello della messa a punto di una sinergia vincente tra evoluzione organizzativa, innovazionee sviluppo tecnico.

Italy is recognised as one of the world’s major producersof printing and converting machines. The Italian industry hasalways been strongly inclined toward exports. There areapproximately 150 Italian industrial sized companies with a workforce of about 7,000 employees. The sector displays thecharacteristics typical of advanced Italian mechanics: a few largecompanies and many medium-size and small firms that havemade technological and productive specialization and flexibilitytheir strongest feature. These firms are interconnected in a dense network of sub-contractors also able to guarantee highquality work. The approach of the Italian manufacturers consistsof creating a winning synergy based on organizational evolution,innovation and technological development.

Per quanto riguarda i settori di sbocco, la maggiorparte della produzione è assorbita dal mercato dell’imballaggio(attorno al 70% dell’intero fatturato), più contenuta, circa il 20%,è la percentuale destinata al comparto grafico. La parte restanteviene impiegata in settori diversi.I soci Acimga rappresentano oltre il 60% del fatturato totaledell’industria del settore e il 70% del fatturato export.
