Vitangelo Moscarda is the protagonist of this novel. At the beginning of the story he looks at his nose in the mirror and his wife says that he’s got a part of the nose that slants.From here on, he speaks with his friends about his nose and he begins to reflect about himself and how people see him.He undertsands that he’s ONE, NO ONE and ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND. He begins to hate himself and his name because for him, names are masks that say who you are externally but not internally.At the end of this strange story he goes in an hospice where he can live happily (but he’s considered mad).
