DALÍ BLACK LABEL COLLECTION – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Cuando con Robert Descharnes escogíamos proyectos de muebles entre las ideas con las que Dalí había llenado un bloc destinado a su colaboración con Jean-Michel Frank, teníamos forzosamente que imaginar los colores que Salvador habría escogido para materializar su dibujo monocromo. Lo hicimos recordando preferencias y obsesiones del Maestro (Oro, CarmínSchiaparelli...). Los muebles resultaron muy dalinianos pero algo difícilesde combinar en un interior no rabiosamente surrealista. Cuando para un montaje especial patinamos una silla Leda en tono negro y observamos la reacción entusiasta de profesionales, nos convencimos de que estosobjetos locos serían mucho menos conflictivos en una decoración si setintaban de negro. Por mi larga colaboración con el Maestro intuyo que estacolección merecería su aprobación, pero de lo que estoy seguro es que a Gala le gustaría mucho más que la policromada.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – When with Robert Descharnes we chose projects for furniture from the ideaswith which Dalí had filled his note pad for his work with Jean-Michel Frank,we had to imagine the colours which Salvador would have chosen to make his single-colour drawings, and we did soremembering the preferences and obsessions of the maestro (gold, Carmin Schiaparelli…). The furniture was really very much in Dalí style, but difficult to combine in notabsolutely surrealistic interiors. When we made a Leda chair with aged blackpatina for a special set-up and observed the enthusiastic reaction of the professionals, we were convinced that these crazy objects would lookmuch less controversial in a decor if they were dyed black. From my extensivework with the Maestro I feel that this collection would meet his approval and I am absolutely sure that Gala would prefer it to the multicolour. – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Quando insieme a Robert Descharnes abbiamo scelto i progetti perl’arredamento, passando in rassegna le idee con cui Dalí aveva riempito un block destinato alla sua collaborazione con Jean-Michel Frank, per forzadi cose abbiamo dovuto immaginare i colori che Salvador avrebbe scelto per concretare il suo disegno monocromo. Lo abbiamo fatto tenendo contodelle preferenze, nonché le ossessioni del Maestro (Oro, CarmineSchiaparelli...). I mobili riflettevano bene lo spirito di Dalí ma era alquanto difficile abbinarli ad un interno che non fosse surrealista al 100%. Quando per un montaggio speciale abbiamo dato una patina di nero ad una sedia Leda e abbiamo osservato la reazione entusiasta deiprofessionisti ci siamo resi conto che questi oggetti “pazzi” sarebberosembrati meno provocanti se fossero stati dipinti di nero. Dovuto alla mialunga collaborazione con il Maestro, intuisco che questa collezione avrebbela sua approvazione e ho la certezza che a Gala piacerebbe molto di più di quella policroma.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – Als wir zusammen mit Robert Descharnes konkrete Möbelprojekte aus den unzähligen Ideen aussuchten, mit denen Dalí einst einen für seineZusammenarbeit mit Jean-Michel Frank vorgesehenen Block füllte, mussten wir uns wohl oder übel selbst die Farben vorstellen, die Salvador zurmateriellen Umsetzung seiner monochrom gehaltenen Zeichnungen verwendethätte. Wir taten dies, indem wir uns die Vorlieben und fixen Ideen des Meisters vor Augen hielten (Gold, Schiaparelli-Karmin usw.). Und so kamen wir zwar zu sehr dalinianischen Möbeln, die jedoch nurschwerlich mit einer nicht durch und durch surrealistischen Wohnatmosphärezu kombinieren waren. Als wir dann für eine Spezialanfertigung einen Leda-Stuhl in Schwarz patinierten und uns der begeisterten Reaktion der Fachweltgewahr wurden, gelangten wir zur Überzeugung, dass diese verrückten Dingeweit weniger konfliktiv sind, wenn wir sie ganz einfach in Schwarzanfertigen. Aufgrund meiner langjährigen Zusammenarbeit mit dem Meisterwill mir scheinen, dass diese Kollektion seinen Beifall gefunden hätte;worin ich mir allerdings ganz sicher bin, ist, dass sie Gala weitaus bessergefallen würde als die farbige Reihe.

Han tenido que pasar más de treinta años para quepudiera hacerse realidad la producción industrial de este sensual diseño,que no es más que una versión tecnológicamente innovadora de aquel modelo. Gracias a la tecnología del polietileno rotomoldeado y empleando un procesoespecial que le da a la pieza una sensación ligeramente mórbida, se haconseguido todo el realismo y la fuerza expresiva que Dalí había soñado para esta boca a gran escala en la que poder sentarse o sumergirse.

Il predecessore della serie di mobili disegnata da Salvador Dalí, che BdBarcelona design commercializza in esclusiva mondiale, è il famoso divano a forma di bocca che l’artista realizzò nel 1972 insieme a Oscar Tusquets perla sala Mae West del Museo di Figueres. Sono dovuti passare oltre trent’anniperché fosse possibile la produzione industriale di questo sensuale disegno,che altro non è se non una versione tecnologicamente avanzata di quelmodello. Grazie alla tecnologia del polietilene rotostampato e seguendo unprocesso speciale che dà al prodotto una sensazione di leggera morbidezza,sono stati raggiunti tutto il realismo e la forza espressiva che Dalí avevasognato per questa bocca a grande scala, su cui potersi sedere o nella quale immergersi.

Es mussten mehr als dreiJahrzehnte verstreichen, bevor die industrielle Fertigung dieses sinnlichenDesigns in Angriff genommen werden konnte, die im Grunde genommen nichtsanderes darstellt als eine technologisch innovative Version jenes Modells.
