TELESHROUD is the answer to requirements for a product that combines technology with attractive pricing and appearance. It also provides

the opportunity to meet requirements for ‘restyling’ of existing radio base stations, where the antenna supporting structure is a pole.

TELESHROUD is also very versatile: it can easily be transformed from a simple architectural structure to an advertising sign and/or

illumination pole. TELESHROUD can be combined with calzavara poles or similar existing structures, replacing the antenna supporting masts.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The SUPPORTING STRUCTURE consists of a steel pole with

flange for connection to the structure below it. TELESHROUD has

been designed to fit easily on poles built by other manufacturers,

even those already in operation.

TELESHROUD was created as an architectural structure for

concealing panel and dish antennas plus floodlights. It consists of

triangular, circular or square section components made of radio-

electrically transparent material.

It is fixed to the metallic supporting structure in a way that takes

into account the different heat expansion coefficients of materials

in contact, so as to ensure secure, vibration-free attachment.

Access to the inside for installation and maintenance is provided

by doors attached to the shrouding so as to allow easy access.

TELESHROUD can be fitted with advertising signs and/or logos

and a virtually unlimited choice of colourings is available to meet

any requirement. If required, illumination is provided by means of

floodlights, supported on a ring bracket.

The ANTENNAS are secured to the central steel tube by means of

pipe mounts or pipe brackets (art. PMAR …., TAMA ....).

The FEEDERS & CABLES run inside the shrouding and are secured

to steel brackets anchored to the main structure. The

TELESHROUD base flange has openings through which the cables

are routed to the inside of the pole below.

The CLIMBING LADDER with safety climb system is supplied

complete with tiltable intermediate footrests and is secured to the

pole by means of ring brackets.

The LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEM consists of a lightning

conductor with a pick-up device, secured to a rod at the top of the

structure (art. LKPI).

The AIRCRAFT WARNING SYSTEM conforms to ICAO or FAA

standards. For day-time warning, the top third of the structure is

painted red and white; the night-time warning system comprises a

low intensity light unit with steady red light (art. S……..).

As an alternative, both day-time and night-time signalling can be

provided by a medium intensity light unit with white flashing light

(art. SEGS2320K).

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

SUPPORTING STRUCTURE

DESIGN

Design follows the most modern measuring criteria, with the aid of

advanced software systems. Structural analysis, static and dynamic

tests conform to the most recent United States (EIA 222) and

Italian (CNR-UNI) standards. Tests to other international

standards (EURONORM, BS, NV65, etc.) can be carried out on

request.

WIND LOADS

In accordance with the requirements of EIA standards 222: basic

wind speed equivalent to 100 mph.

The structures are also tested in accordance with Italian

standards, for wind zones from 1 to 3, roughness class D, category

II and Ct = 1.0.

MATERIALS

The materials comply with the requirements of European

standards (EURONORM):

Structural parts: S275JR (Fe 430 B) EN 10025

Nuts and bolts: type 6.8 EN 20898-1

GALVANIZATION

All metallic materials, except for stainless steel and non-ferrous

parts, are protected by hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with EN

1461 and ASTM A123 standards.

SHROUDING

MATERIALS

• fibreglass and plastic materials

• nuts, bolts and fixing accessories in stainless steel

OPERATING CONDITIONS

• temperatures from –20°C to +85°C

• humidity: 100%

RADIO-ELECTRIC TRANSPARENCY

Comparative measurements in bandwidths from 400MHz - 2.2 GHz

have shown signal attenuation of < 1 dB. Data relating to radio-

electric transparency tests is available on request.
